Believe me when I say that I understand how frustrating it is that people are treating things like autism and DID/OSDD systems and ADHD and such as quirky, silly little identities, instead of the very, very real and oftentimes debilitating disorders and disabilities that they are. But your frustration should be towards that, not the people who feel proud and feel empowered by their disabilities.

(I cannot possibly mention every disability and disorder, but this applies to a wide variety of disabilities)

One thing I wish there was more of in DID/OSDD spaces was pride and acknowledgement of being able to live openly as "multiple" without shame. I wish it was more acceptable to Have Fun With It. I only ever see this in endo spaces, and I get why, but I want DID/OSDD system pride specifically (and I would rather not engage in endogenic spaces for complicated reasons). I want to be able to exist as individuals (whenever we may or may not be able to get there, we don't exist as separate people rn) as a person with DID without shame, the same way I am proud of being autistic and wouldn't change it, despite the struggles that come along with being autistic.
