#so basically. after coyotespeck agrees to be deputy halfmoon was like erm waht the spruce. kind of butthurt even tho hes coyotespecks bestie #and theyre also flirtyvibes tbh.. but halfmoon is 1 clanborn 2 he was reeeeeally good like a great warrior he got his warriorname like a #while b4 his littermates. hes also likee 2 ish years OLDER than coyotespeck so hes like idkk.. and coyotespeck has only been there 6 months #so hes sort of cranky with it. but erm... Coyotespeck wasnt deputy 4 super long loll bc burntstar doid 💀 got hit by a monster while they #were trying 2 find a new camp. Two naming questions here as someone taking inspiration from your expanded version of the traditional naming system for a few fanclans in other locations:

When it came to making additions to the existing ailuronomy prefix list, how did you go about picking what to exclude or include? I’m curious what your process was in regards to things like animals or plants named directly after human concepts or just after the latin name of their genus, words with 5+ syllables, just prefixes that technically work but sound clunky or unnatural when rolling off the tongue in general.

For prefixes that could potentially encompass a lot of colours (Prefixes like Moth-, Moss-, or Beetle- where there are a bunch of different species with wildly varying colours, or tree-based prefixes where you could be referencing the colour of several things like the bark, the flowers, or the fruit), how do you go about deciding which colour to categorize it under? Is it just a matter of what’s the most recognizable?

While Grey's parameters make for good guidelines, a lot of it can boil down to Your Mileage May Vary.

Compound words are especially this. Definitely don't include things that are compound words that end with a suffix in your lineup, such as Coltsfoot or Strawberry. Some will argue against having Mistletoe- being a prefix, but Mistle- and -toe being a prefix and suffix respectively is dumb, because you're essentially saying "piss-twig", and -toe is a dumb suffix the point of suffixes is flexibility and I am getting off-topic reining this thought back in. You could likely get away with Goldenrodpaw and Rainbowpaw, but I doubt you could get away with Sparrowhawkpaw or Horseradishpaw. Something about the latter two hit different.

For prefixes with over five syllables, I'd advise against it. Four syllables is probably the most you could get away with. Dandelion-, Salamander-, Amanita-, you're running out of space there. Salamanderflower and Amanitawhisker are gonna be a pain to write over and over and over again.

Some prefixes that are human-ish in feel are really hard to disassociate, such as Phoebe- (a bird), so again, YMMV.

For the wide berth of colors, just go with whatever is the most common example in the territory. Most moths are brown or gray or white, so that'll do. Beetles are usually black or brown too, so just focus on like, the really common varieties. If the bug is somewhat uncommon, disregard it for the most part. Maybe have one cat pop up every few generations with the color befitting the moth.

For tree prefixes, it usually depends on its most defining feature(s). Maples and rowans blaze red in the autumn, so they get thrown in the ginger category. Laburnum, wisteria, and cherry have beautiful flowers. Plums, junipers, and oaks have funny fruits and nuts. Larches and pines have their unique needles. And alders and birches have distinctive barks. If all else fails, check their flower or bark, and run with brown.

ohhhh this is tough........well i'd absolutely try to name a cat hazelpoppy of course. because i'd have the power. that'd probably be my choice. but hmmm for backups i might try to revive sophiepaw from the "get your pet cat in the books" poll simply because i love the walten files and im selfish. before mousey was just a catsona she did used to be a wcsona and her name was mouseheart because i made her when i was mentally ill in highschool lol. (names a canon character after a canon insult). i'm a cat twitter fan so maybe i'd ask one of their owners if they'd be cool with their cat being in the books. imagine cokezeropaw. pamcakepaw. mochipaw. bilbopaw. paulpaw. blueberrypaw. oysterpaw. lou coffee beanspaw. wouldnt that be beautiful. it could also be things i like. a kittypet named strawberry shortcake joins the clans and becomes shortcakepaw or strawberrypaw. i know we already have a dog named bunny but i love bunnies so bunnypaw would be cute. a cat named after a my little pony character joins. pinkiepaw, snuzzlepaw, twilightpaw, surprisepaw, munchypaw (my favorite g1 pony!), rainbowpaw, mintypaw, i could atone for flutterfoot not having been named fluttershy....shyheart had shy in her name...you have the power erins you need to use it... i also have some ocs in a cat world that i'm working on rn but i dont think i'd try to sneak them in at all...imagine fiddleheadpaw though....

38 moons - uta pronouns - RunningClan Defender

Talk about a RunningClan cat through and through-- Turtlebite had the traditional RunningClan upbringing, complete with Defender parents who, alongside their birth siblings, raised a few CreepingClan abductees as well. Though Turtlebite hated this growing up, they have since come to embrace the traditions of their Clan. Even to this day stealing a few kits to potentially raise themself.

However, you won't catch Turtlebite doing too much stealing, as they mostly prefer to chill on the outskirts of camp--avoiding any real work. After all it's the catchers' job to collect food, all they really have to do is look tough and land a couple quick blows on enemy Clan cats. However, don't mistake their inherit laziness for lack of skill, their impressive size and muscles makes them a very dangerous adversary. Will this coming New-leaf change their tune? Or will they continue to idlily enjoy their Warriorhood.

After surviving a border dispute with CreepingClan about two moons ago, Rainbowpaw is finally out of the Healer's Den and back in action. However, she sustained a serious set of scars on her back from the attack. Others in the Clan have since been looking down on her for failing to dodge the blow that earned her the scars. Especially with the other apprentices teasing her about being weak..

He wants to prove everybody wrong and show them just what a good warrior he can be... the only problem.. -- he's afraid to go by the border again after the pain he endured during the scuffle. Doing her best to cope with the stress of leaving camp, Rainbowpaw hopes no one notices how afraid she really is now. She wonders if she'll ever be made a Warrior at this point. For StarClan's sake she's barely ever left camp, how can she turn things around now?

"It's time these kits become apprentices, they reached the age of six moons and shall recieve their mentors" Birdstar cleared her throat before contenueing. "Fruitkit, from this day until the day you'll be made warrior, you shall be known as Fruitpaw, I want Wistiriadaisy to pass her skills and loyalty onto you. Rainbowkit, from this day untill the day you become a warrior you shall be known as Rainbowpaw, I want Yewdash to pass her skills and wisdom onto you." Now the gray kitten stepped up. "Fringekit, from this day until the day you make it to warrior you'll be known as Fringepaw, I want Flashsoar to pass his skills and caring onto you" Suprised, Flashsoar stepped up with Wistireadaisy and Yewdash to touch noses with their apprenices.

Who are your oldest ocs ever and which are the oldest that you still use?

This post gets kinda long with the pictures so i'm putting it under the cut to hopefully not clog up people's dash

okay my oldest oc ever, like I made him in kindergarten is named Dry and he's a Yoshi

He was basically just a guy for me to think about while i was on the bus home and i would think about him going on all these different adventures. He holds a VERY special place in my heart and he was SUCH mary-sue and i love him. I want to bring him and his insanely big story back and morph it into something coherent but you know. oc and story made by a kindergartener. There was a group of cannibal pirate yoshis in this story and they ate off dry's tail and that's why it looks like that

the other old old ocs are lost to time and don't have any art of them so sadly i don't think i'll be able to accurately share them. I had a buff evil shark furry named Sharx tho and looking back he was definitely gay

And funnily enough my friends and I recently brought back a lot of our old wolf/dog ocs that we made for the hell of it.

Akaru my beloved. I drew him like once in 2014 and then never again and i brought him back and now he's a gay jock idiot who is basically a white boy dogified. His real name isn't even Akaru it's Kyle but he Akaru sounds cooler

Knife enthusiast girlboss. She's fun i love her. It was the best decision to keep her colors the same win7 paint colors

This guy used to be my fursona back in the day. His name was also wander but that eventually went to my main fursona for years so i renamed him drift. Used to be a steampunk fursona striped hyena and now he's just. weird 45 year old striped hyena who's like....webcore? for some reason??? i don't know why i decided that but i like it and it weirdly works for him.

The older cats are kinda going through it this moon, on top of having the external threat of EgretClan, they can feel their own internal struggles bubbling to the surface.

I think Minkpaw and Splinterpaw are just naive to the scope of the external threats. Pondpaw wants revenge for the pain that's been caused to her Clan. Nutella tries to offer some advice, his in game text status usually involves him thinking about the cats he's helped in his travels.

Meanwhile Rainbowpaw... is just kinda a lil shit. This will be a reoccurring thing with her, tbh. She's really antagonistic for someone that doesn't have a set personality trait that would suggest that. And Bogpaw feels bad for Limepaw's insecurities being picked at but would rather keep her head down.
