It Smells Like Fish In Here, Bo Close Your Legs

just wanted to write some slice of life (?)

Think im back from my hiatus so take this small thing

Hot Louisiana afternoons were spent along the banks of the closest swim-able bodies of water, jeans were cuffed high to stay dry from waters as ankles and calves cut through the stream. Fingers dug in the wet land and worms squirmed from within their upturned homes as Lester raked through the mud, trying to unearth more bait. Strums of twangy guitar from speakers that played Reba McEntire mixed with the sounds of the deafening nature surrounding their land in Ambrose and he found himself able to zone in on completing his task.

"Y'know, that's bullshit." Bo interrupted the tranquility, taking a drag from his cigarette before exhaling and continuing, "If it was me and that were one a yall I woulda fessed up sooner, ain't no way I'd dilly dally 'round like that, shit I mean if you're gonna kill a motherfucker least you could do is plan it 'forehand, dang." Only he could get so irritated at a storyline in a song.

"I don't know, I think she mighta just not known he was comin' home s'fast." Lester yet again playing the defense for whatever media Bo decided to criticizing. He had paused to watch Bo when he talked, giving him his undivided attention before straightening up and making his way back to his brother.

"Pssh, like I said, lack of plannin'." Bo waved his hand dismissively and Lester rolled his eyes at the eldest Sinclair's lack of self awareness.

"Like you'd know shit 'bout plannin'-" Lester started before getting cut off by Bo sharp laugh and him trying to interject before Lester quickly grabbed the reigns of the conversation, "No, no, y'can't say shit, you get way too into it, y'don't think."

"You callin' me stupid?" Bo's tone teetered on defensive and Lester was quick to reassure him. "Nah, nah't'all, I'm jus' sayin', y'know there's like a study or somethin', or whatever, 'bout how when people are in the act of, y'know, that, they tend to get messy."

"You sayin' I don't know what I'm doin' or somethin'?"

Lester couldn't help but groan and roll his eyes, his shoulders slumping and body swaying in the manner of a kid about to start a tantrum. "Ughh, Bo, y'know that's not what in the hell I mean, jackass. I'm jus' fuckin' messin' witcha." He placed his hand on Bo's shoulder and tugged at the sleeve lightly before turning away and wiping his hands on his pants and searching through his pack.

"Y'got mud on my shirt, dipshit." Bo grumbled while brushing off the bit of dried dirt.

"Aww, cause it's gonna kill ya, right?" Lester sneered playfully before retrieving a hefty sized joint and lighter, motioning it towards Bo, "Maybe this'll help get the stick outta yer ass."

Bo sucked at his teeth and shot a glare at Lester before snatching the materials from his youngest sibling's hands, making sure not to be too rough with it before trading off the fishing pole. "Well you need to worry about puttin' THAT stick in yer hand and catchin' some of this goddamn fish, cause Vincent said he's gonna kick our ass if we came back empty handed."

"Thought you weren't scared'a no one?"

"Lester, shut the hell up ‘fore I beat yer ass."
