#She surprised the Fletchling

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey everyone!  We got some new Pokemon up for adoption!
Today we’re starting with a heroine!  This female Absol saved a group of kids from a house about to be crushed by a landslide, using her horn to keep an opening open while they escaped.  Though it broke her horn, she is BRAVE and willing to take on any danger you and your team can find.
This Brozong came to us with a large crack in his arm, but with Professor Vanad’s advice, we were able to get it fixed and now he’s using it like it never even happened.  And yes, he may look alittle different from normal Brozong, he a JOLLY Pokemon who will be great for home and travel.
And last, but certainly not least, we have a Fletchling that gotten to wear little snowshoes.  He would have had an updated picture, but after the photographer took this, he pecked her mercilessly.  She won’t go near him now.  BUT!  Besides the point, his feet are okay now!  He got a little infection under his feet scales and that’s what caused the knuckling, but now he’s good to go!  Refusing to return to the wild, this SASSY Fletchling will be a good addition to your team when you want to make the other guy flinch.

do you have any advice on chatot care? a family friend got his daughter a shiny chatot as a gift, and wasn't prepared for how much work and commitment they are, ESPECIALLY with the health problems brought on with being shiny and how long-lived chatot are. rhapsody is very near-sighted, and suffers from muscle spasms that make it hard for her to fly safely. i'm experienced with caring for avian pokémon (i've got a staravia, a wattrel, a rowlet, and a talonflame already), so i took in rhapsody. i know the basics and commitment of caring for a chatot, but i was curious if you had any experience or advice to give her the best quality of life (she's around 8, so she's got at least another 60 years in her).
on that note, to anyone who might see this: DO NOT get a chatot, or any similarly long-lived avian pokémon, unless you are fully and utterly prepared for a LIFELONG commitment. these are not pokémon i can reccommend in good conscience. kids grow up and move out— chatots don't. they're high maintenance, loud, and are very difficult to train. the only reason i opted to take in rhapsody is because i am very, very experienced in caring for avian pokémon. sorry to get on my soapbox, but this is something very near and dear to me— my talonflame, hestia, was a rescue from a similar situation back when she was a fletchling.
ooooh, wow, that is a tough situation! chatot really are tremendously awful pokemon to have as pets. most of them end up surrendered or living in pretty awful environments.
the biggest difficulty with keeping a chatot is that, aside from how hard it is to replicate their natural environment, they are social pokemon that do best in a flock. unfortunately, out of all of your pokemon, the only one i'd feel safe letting interact with your new chatot is your staravia. the behavioral and size differences between the other pokemon makes letting them around your chatot too dangerous to risk. it's going to be important to provide lots of things for your chatot to do- foraging, flight space, access to fresh air and sunshine, and ESPECIALLY sound based enrichment. chatot love picking up new sounds, and you'll often see them swinging their tails in time to music they like! playdates with other chatot and even squawkabilly would be awesome, too!
because this little gal is shiny, you're going to need to keep an extra eye on her feather quality, and the shiny gene is known to alter feather structure in avian pokemon and can even lead to feather cysts and malformed keratin sheaths (which results in new feathers coming in damaged). i would be surprised if she doesnt start feather plucking at some point, and it's something you and her vet are going to have to work to manage. keep an eye out for tail swinging in the absence of sound, too, as that is a stereotypical behavior many pet chatot develop in order to cope with stress.
best of luck to you two, and thanks for taking in a rescue chatot!

Question for loupy. What are some of the rare mons you have, besides the very obvious shiny mew.
Well, the obvious answer is that I’ve stockpiled a L O T of shinies over my years of Pokemoning. One of my favorites is a Fletchling that was shiny on the FIRST EGG—not even Masuda! I was just trying to hatch a Flame Body ‘mon for my bro. (Needless to say, he got the next one to hatch. XD)
There's also the Masuda-hunted Mist, a female Zoroark I hatched years ago. (Zorua has a 12.5 chance of being female, so it was a pleasant surprise~)
One of the rarest occurrences I’ve had is walking up to a Scyther outbreak in Legends Arceus, and I hear two shiny sparkles—one is a standard Scyther, and the other was an Alpha Kleavor. I named her Queen~
The Queen and her ward. :3 (This is a re-approach to get a good video, hence why I moved so carefully.)
Tumblr media
On the left is a different Scyther, my loyal girl Petal who replaced one of my main playthrough team members. She's unrelated to this occurrence but made for a great photo op~ The one on the right is the Queen's ward. He doesn't get a name. X3
I've also been fortunate enough to randomly encounter several Shinies in the original odds of 1/8192, from before Gen 6, almost exclusively the result of training a Pokemon. As well as getting a few other shiny alphas, either from outbreaks or the static spawns. (Never got a random shiny Alpha spawn.)
But I think my most favorite shiny story is that of Sable the Dewott. She (yes, she) was a character that I made up but didn't do anything with way back when BW were in their early years. I can't say I forgot about her, but she didn't join my at-the-time roster of main characters. Well, a few years ago I decided to start a White Shiny Badge Quest, going for Oshawott because I adore Dewott's shiny. I started soft-resetting in both White and White 2, and roughly one week and six-thousand-someodd resets later, I got it.
I got her.
It wasn't just a shiny Oshawott. It was a shiny female Oshawott. Against the odds, my old character Sable had become a reality. She showed up in White 2, but with my brother's techy know-how, he transplanted her into my White file.
But oddly enough, that's not the end of her craziness, as I later managed to get ANOTHER FEMALE SHINY OSHAWOTT in Legends Arceus! I don't know why the games insist this ancient character of mine should exist against the odds twice, but I appreciate it, and relish having this story to tell! ^U^

(@ask-the-shiny-pokemons) Noelle @ Ninasha:
"Okay, dare it is. So, how about this: take a photo of a funny face ya can do and show it to everyone nearby (assume that I'll try to make the dare questions as friendly as possible)."
"You got it!" Ninasha said as she whipped out her Rotom Phone. She opens the camera app and takes a selfie of the silliest face she can do. *Click!* "Ok, just a few finishing touches..!" she said to herself as she adds some filters to it. "And voila! Now THAT'S a Fletchling worthy photo!" she proudly proclaims as she shows Noelle the photo.
[The next 3 asks Ninasha sends will have this photo attatched to it. If you want it to be a surprise, please don't click "Keep Reading".]

Also have been working on some headcanons for Juliana and Nemona's teams during the main part of the game! This is their team configuration at the time of the Ace Academy Tournament.
Notes:
* Treating 'After the Rain' as canon, where Juliana chooses Fuecoco/Nemona chooses Sprigatito/Naranja Academy is the school/Koraidon is the ride/etc
* I 'ditched' Juliana's Skeledirge, but don't be sad (this seems to truly upset people). People catch new pokemon and change up their teams all the time, it doesn't mean their other pokemon rot in boxes. Once Juliana lost at Larry's gym she decided she needed more team diversity
* Juliana's Volcarona is Tera Grass once she collects enough shards (so she can give Nemona's Palafin a nasty surprise with Power Herb Solar Beam)
* Nemona caught the Flutter Mane when they visited Area Zero. Before Flutter Mane she had a Dragapult as her special attacker
* This is Nemona's team she raised alongside Juliana of course, her 'A Team' that she first used to defeat the gyms/E4 is seperate. She mentions in-game that her original team did not include one of the starters so I headcanon her ace was Ceruledge. She also canonically owns a Tauros (opening cutscene in the game) and a Cyclizar (Biri Biri Music Video if you treat as canon, which I do because who wouldn't ✨)
* Nemona was re-challenging the gyms with this new team of hers (people seem to forget this is why she's showing up at the gyms when we go to them). But I like to think she also eventually took this team to re-challenge the E4, in part because Geeta sent her in her sted to 'assess' them (like we did for the gym leaders) but also just for kicks
* Moves, pokemon, items and other things are switched up over the course of the game as they both keep facing one another and learning about each other's team and trying to continuously predict the other, try new things, catch the other off guard, etc.
* Their favorite pokemon on these teams: Juliana's favorite is Gengar, Nemona's is Pawmot, they hang out the most with them. Juliana's oldest poke on this team is her Corviknight, she caught Rookidee on Rt 1 whereas Nemona caught Fletchling on Poco Path, so they're pretty attached to those too

Oh, u drew your “fledgling thaumaturge”? 👀👀 An OC??? Can we get more info if yes??????
It's more of a sketch, I didn't really have time to fully clean it up yet 😅 I just kind of needed to visualise her
But here she is!
Tumblr media
Giya Cortiner, the fletchling thaumaturge merchant!
In the campaign I'm playing her in, the sun is gone from the sky, and the world is controlled by religious groups constantly at odds with each other. She's being pursued by the cult that is supposedly at fault for the sun not coming up anymore because of a debt that was pinned on her by someone she used to trust.
But for some more context, here is how I introduced her to the group before we started playing:
Giya always had a knack for business. Even as a child, no one could find bargains and out smart copper pinchers like she did. So it wasn't really a surprise for her parents when she started begging them to let her join the Merchants' Guild at such a young age. Due to her relentlessness, her parents eventually gave in to her requests with the condition that she finished her education first and financed her own membership fee. From then on, Giya worked harder in school and her parents' shop than she ever did before, passing her exams with flying colours and raising the funds for her membership in no time. After joining the Guild, she travelled with an older member for a while and worked as his apprentice. However, after a couple of months, her mentor left her behind with a bill Giya could not possibly pay out of pocket on her own for a mysterious statue of The Hollow One. Now alone and deeply in debt, Giya has been kicked out of the Merchant's Guild due to being late with her membership payments.

Hey I'm thinking of adopting a sprigatito, what pokemon do they get along with, and what pokemon do they not get along with. I don't want to catch a pokemon my sprigatito will hate.
@dreamball-irl
That really depends, as personality can be a huge difference. Two pokemon of the same species can be very different to each other. Usually fire types and grass types don't do well together, but I've seen many battling teams where these two opposing types have a strong bond.
When raised together (and with some specific caveats like the mareanie line, which is solitary) pokemon can become friendly with quite a wide range of team members. For a quick example, my talonflame, Scorchy, is good friends with my golbat, Throckmorton, who I got as a zubat.
In the wild, zubat are a part of a talonflames diet. But because I had Scorchy from a fletchling and trained her well around prey pokemon, she's formed a lasting friendship with an unlikely pal. And they both have curious, friendly personalities, which is a huge help.
If you want to find out who your sprigatito would like, a supervised meeting is a great idea. Watch closely and be ready to intervene if their personalities bounce off each other, but you might be surprised who your sprigatito befriends.

Oh i am in LOVE! Andromeda has been visiting the shelter daycare and Mx. Bela (@belamew) yesterday, and to my surprise she did not only adopt Hazel, the Sprigatio-Litten-Hybrid in my name, but also two very very sweet little birds!
[A photo is attached. There are three Pokémon in the center, not unlike they are sometimes presented as choice for starter Pokémon.
To the left is a rowlet. It is a little on the smaller side. Notably, it's bowtie is a flower! It is looking directly into the camera. Next to it sits a Swablu. It is completely yellow and it's wings are a dark grey, almost looking like a cloud in a thunderstorm. It seems to be snoozing. To the right is a the mentioned Sprigatito. It looks not very unusual, but it's fur has a slightly yellow tint to it. It is curiously looking at something to the side]
This Swablu is apparently an electric type! Mx. Bela is not quite sure what species the father is, but there aren't many possibilities. As far as i know, the Swablu line could have only bred with a Kilowattrel for this to happen? Theoretically there is also the Oricorio species, but they rarely interact with Altaria, and even more rarely breed hybrids. This will be interesting. And it's time for me to go catch a Fletchling to compare! We don't have Wattrel here, and as long as i don't know who the father is, it's not sensible to go chase one down. I'm very excited regardless.
As for the Rowlet, all i know is that "it's weird", so lets see where it takes us. Mx. Bela said she's the father is not of the Decidueye line. So we either have a big surprise waiting for us, or we have a subtle hybrid on our hands! Many people know that Pokémon don't often form hybrids, but grass types are an exception! If bred from two different species, they commonly exhibit genetic mixtures that are rarely recognised as hybridisation by amateurs but lead to unexpected behaviour and capabilities! Oh i'm already rambling again.
Also, to Mx. Bela! They have arrived safely and are all quite active! I think Hazel might be a little bit hot in our usual daycare, but that was expected. I've taken her to a cooler room right after taking this photo. She and Polaris already get along! 🍌

Elevated Railways - Ch 5
Ingo has been in Hisui for two years when two children fall from the sky - with wings like his. Did they come from the same place he did?
Word Count: ~2700
Ingo knitted his brows as he quickly stepped up to Jubilife. The sky was a swath of colors that did not belong in the sky, were not natural. It made his very bones itch. He needed to make sure his kids were alright. That thought drove him forward, his wings plastered closer to him than normal, his body taut with anticipation. He felt a sense of foreboding. Something was wrong.
Irida was in the middle of the village, talking with Adaman. They likely knew where the twins were. Ingo quickly stepped over to them, his voice a little too loud (even by his standards) as he called out, "Lady Irida! Might you know where Akari and Rei are? I promised to take them on for a battle today." His half-baked excuse sounded false in his own ears, but at the moment he did not care. He had not seen them since Lord Avalugg was frenzied, and now with the sky cracking…
Irida's head whipped up. Had she been crying? Her face was redder than usual. As Ingo finally approached, both of them fell silent. "Ingo," she started. She did not finish. Ingo cocked his head at her. Her voice wavered. Her eyes were red and her fists shook by her sides. Something had happened and Ingo had a feeling he was not going to like what it was.
"Warden Ingo," Adaman voiced, seeing Irida's discomfort. His voice was soft and melancholic. "Kamado banished them from the village. He believes they caused the rift. They ran from the village before we could stop them. We don’t know where they are and Kamado forbids us from sending out a search party until they fix the rift." Adaman’s normal smirk was gone. His mouth sat in a straight line. He seemed frustrated and concerned, too. The twins must have left a good impression on him.
Ingo stood stock-still. All his thoughts slammed on the brakes. He didn't dare breathe. This couldn't be true, it couldn't-
He looked at Irida, who nodded. She hid her face in her hands. Ingo’s blood ran cold. "Ingo I'm so sorry. I tried to- Ingo?!"
Ingo did not hear her. He had already ripped off his coat, tying it crudely around his neck as he began to run to the front gate of the village. He grabbed his hat in his hands as he willed his wings to grow, expand, widen, shift faster and faster until he jumped and took to the air, flapping his large wings. He tossed out one Pokeball, summoning Gliscor, hovering in the air above the village for a moment to speak properly. It was probably good that most people had fled inside their homes.
"Akari and Rei are missing,” he boomed, his voice a higher octave than usual with his fear. “You check the Fieldlands and the Mirelands, I will check the Icelands and the Highlands. Converge at the Coastlands. Full speed ahead, Gliscor!" It screeched in dismay, sensing Ingo’s panic. Its eyes widened and it pulled on his sleeve gently. Ingo nodded and hugged the Pokemon. He had to find them. He had to find them now.
Ingo heard Irida shouting for him. He spared her a single glance that sent a tremor through her body. He likely looked murderous. Even Adaman faltered, looking up at Ingo in… fear? Surprise? Ingo did not care. "I am finding my fletchlings," he boomed. His small facial wings flared to life as he did so, working like a funnel for the sound to travel directly downwards. “Depart, Gliscor! We need to find them!” And with that he whirled, streaking to the Highlands as Gliscor sped off to the Fieldlands.
‐—-------
They weren't in the Icelands. Ingo couldn't find them in the Highlands, even around his tent. He was beginning to panic. What if they were hurt? What if they'd been taken or kill-
He wouldn't let his mind wander down that track. He unfurled his wings again, jumping off the cliff face and beating them to ascend, deciding to make his way to the Coastlands and search there. Hopefully Gliscor had found them. The air was making him chilly, but he didn’t care. He needed to find his kids. He needed to know they were safe. What was odd was the amount of Pokemon that were not out right now. Hisui was nearly silent as Ingo worked his wings into the ground searching for his twins.
As he was passing over between the Highlands and the Coastlands, he noticed something. It was a small home, more permanent than any other in the Pearl or Diamond Clan, but definitely older than the Village. It had a dark exterior, which may explain why he had never noticed it before. Ingo paused, circling overhead. Something about it seemed odd to him.
There were four figures outside, two of which Ingo recognized. His eyes widened and he paused in the air, his breath stalling.
"AKARI! REI!" Ingo fell into a dive as they looked up, he could see Akari had been crying and Rei had a bruise on his cheek. The wind whipped past his hair but he hardly noticed. He landed with a well-timed snap of his wings, immediately kneeling and holding out his arms as he placed his cap haphazardly back on his head.
The kids ran to him, their eyes and cheeks stained with tears. They each buried their heads in his shoulders, shaking. Ingo wrapped his arms around them, wrapping his wings in a tight cocoon to block out the world temporarily.  Akari whimpered, "Uncle Ingo, they said that we did this. T-they said w-we are breaking everything and-"
"Akari," Ingo gently interrupted her as he rubbed their backs in soothing circles as they both sobbed. "We all know this is not true. Irida and Adaman seemed distraught by your quick leave. I will not let anything happen to you two, do you understand? You are safe with me. I promise." He put one hand on the backs of each of their heads, pressing them into his neck. Their small wings fluttered in agitation. Ingo continued just holding them as they clung to him, terrified. Akari was shaking horribly. Rei was gripping his tunic tight enough that he could almost feel the boy’s knuckles whitening. He was going to rip Kamado a new one for this.
Someone cleared their throat nearby. Ingo growled in his chest but slowly stood, keeping a hand on each of the twins’ shoulders. The kids whirled as he stood, looking out of the safety that Ingo provided. He clicked Gliscor's ball, recalling the Pokemon from afar. He unfurled his wings, dropping them to his sides and cupping them around himself and the kids, allowing him to see who was nearby. He kept his signature frown on and a hardened gaze.
Before them were two people. One, Ingo recognized dimly. It was that blonde Ginkgo Guild member. Vora? Volen? Something like that. The other was a regal blonde woman in a black dress, long black gloves covering her dainty arms and a dark veil over her face. It’s like she is about to attend a funeral, Ingo’s brain spat out, though that is not usual funeral attire in Hisui. She looked kind, from what Ingo could see of her eyes, but he was not taking any chances.
Gliscor screeched overhead, swooping down and frantically looking over the twins. Akari smiled wetly at it and kissed its forehead. "We're okay, Gliscor. Promise." Rei nodded along with what she said and patted its head. It hugged them both, its small arms and wings reaching as much of them as it could. It cooed at the twins. Gliscor then disconnected and hovered behind them, watching the others with a protective stance like Ingo was. Ingo kept his wings wrapped around the two children, half-shielding them from sight. The facial wings flapped and puffed up in agitation.
The other two people watched them with wide eyes. The man was the first to speak. "I thought those were hair," he said, looking at Ingo's facial wings.
"They once were." He offered no other context.
"Might I ask who you are?" The woman was soft-spoken and definitely seemed polite. Ingo already liked her a little more.
"I am Warden Ingo, and these kids' uncle. As soon as I caught wind they'd been banished, I searched for them." He squeezed their shoulders softly, making a point. He felt two small hands grip his tunic tightly.
"Volo brought us here after he found us in the Fieldlands, Uncle Ingo," Akari piped up. The tears were drying up on her cheeks.
"We got here just a few minutes before you did," Rei added.
Ingo nodded. He looked up at the merchant. "I appreciate you removing them from immediate danger," he said seriously. Volo nodded and smiled. Ingo allowed his wings to retract, just the smallest amount. He still did not trust the merchant, but this won him a point.
"Of course! I couldn't just leave my two favorite customers to get lost in the middle of nowhere!"
Ingo turned his attention to the woman. "Now, might I ask who you are? Is this your station?"
She nodded. “My name is Cogita. I am knowledgeable in the ancient myths of Hisui and I have been waiting for the correct prophet to come and carry out the actions I have been instructed about and have been passed down for generations. I do believe you two are the ones spoken of in myth,” she said, gazing down at the two children. “Though I must ask. You, sir, are you the first Faller? The one of the Pearl Clan from years prior?”
Ingo nodded. “I fell into Hisui two years ago. I still do not recollect much of my homeland or myself for that matter, but these two have been helping me to fill gaps in my memory.” Ingo squeezed their shoulders again, making them look away in bashfulness. “I have taken them under my wing, so to speak,” he added, earning a chuckle from Cogita.
“I see. I believe I may have an idea for how to fix the sky.” Both kids perked up at that. “There are many legends in Hisui, one speaking of the end times and how to revert it to normal. There are three trials you must complete, one at each of the three lakes in Hisui. Enter the island in the middle of one and meet with the Pokemon within and prove yourself to them. Once you have completed one, return and show me. I will guide you to the next.”
The twins nodded solemnly. They looked up at Ingo, who looked back down at them sadly. They had too much on their young shoulders, yet again. This time, perhaps he could lighten the load for them. “Would you like me to conduct you to your next destination?” he asked softly.
Both children nodded, still clinging to him. Akari buried her face in his side. Ingo chuckled. “Let us see how you have been practicing lately. Can you lift off from the ground?” It had been six days since he had properly seen them, what with all the mess with Lord Avalugg. As Ingo released them to prepare, he heard a shout.
“Wait!”
Ingo turned, shielding the children with his wings until he saw who it was. Adaman and Irida. Ingo relaxed, folding his wings behind his back. There was no point in shrinking them now. Akari and Rei peeked out from behind his wings and waved. He felt each of them slip a hand into his. He squeezed them back reassuringly. The Clan Leaders jogged into the encampment, clearly winded. “Ingo?” Adaman asked, clearly a little surprised to see him.
Ingo nodded curtly. The twins tucked themselves behind Ingo’s body and in front of his wings so that they were sandwiched between him. He squeezed their hands reassuringly and tucked his wings around them. “Apologies for the quick departure earlier. I will not stand for lost passengers on my train.”
“Are you guys okay?” Irida asked immediately. She ran right up to them, looking the twins over. They nodded at her. Adaman stayed a few paces back from the protective Ingo. “Oh thank Sinnoh, we were so worried when you ran off like that. Well, flew off. What happened to your cheek, Rei? It’s bruised…”
“I fell.” He offered nothing else. Ingo was going to make sure that was all that happened. If they were flying, where did he fall from?
“What’s happening?” Adaman asked, gesturing to the two people behind them. Akari quickly filled in what they had been talking about. Adaman and Irida nodded, the Pearl Clan Leader taking a step back as they considered this.
“C-can we keep Uncle Ingo with us?” Akari asked suddenly, her voice small. Rei nodded, burrowing into Ingo’s tunic further. He was shaking. He was afraid. Ingo squeezed the boy’s hand again in reassurance.
“Of course,” Irida said quickly with a smile. “Would you like one of us to join you as well? It would be a little suspicious if both of us came with you, but one of us at least would love to help. We could provide shelter if you need it, and food. You can pick which one.”
The twins looked at each other, then at Ingo. Ingo chuckled. “This is your decision, not mine,” he said warmly. They had a silent conversation before each of them nodded, looking back at the adults.
“You don’t have to… but maybe you, Irida. Just to make it less suspicious that Uncle Ingo is with us,” Rei said. Smart boy, Ingo thought to himself.
Irida nodded and smiled. “I will keep Adaman updated on all the happenings. Are you already heading out?”
The twins looked up at Ingo. He blinked back down at them and squeezed their hands. “I don’t know,” Rei said, looking at Akari.
Ingo decided to choose for them. “How about we all rest our engines for the night. It seems the sky will not change anytime soon and the two of you look positively exhausted. I would like to check your feathers and ensure that you both have been preening properly in my absence, as well. And I would like to check your cheek, Rei. Come to my hut tonight. Lady Sneasler would be delighted to see you, too.” The kids’ eyes brightened as he said this.
“Are you sure, Warden? They are welcome to stay in my home if they’d like,” Cogita offered. Ingo knew the answer by how tightly the hands clung to him.
“I believe we will be alright, thank you. Now, let us see how you two have been practicing your safe driving.” Akari grinned wildly as Ingo led them away, Gliscor in tow, until they were a few feet from the crowd. “Meet us at Lake Verity tomorrow morning after sunrise. We will conduct the first trial there,” Ingo said to the adults, particularly Irida. Then Ingo tossed out the freshly-evolved Machamp, who went to lift Akari into its arms.
“Wait, wait, I want to show you something!” Akari said. She tossed out their shared Staraptor. Ingo was happy to see she’d remembered her safety measures, even when Ingo was not around. She got in front of it and nodded, beginning to run. Staraptor flapped its wings hard and generated an air current as Akari’s wings expanded before catching the air, allowing her to glide a little ways before lifting off. She got into the air and after that, she seemed at ease in the sky. Ingo clapped.
“Bravo, Akari, excellent!” He was aware he was smiling. “Rei, your turn! Do you require Machamp?”
Rei shook his head, following his sister. He took a bit more running and wobbling, but he managed to make it up into the air without help. Ingo clapped and praised him as well, feeling the pride in his fletchlings swell in his chest. Then he recalled Gliscor, beating his wings and ascending into the sky himself, following after the twins. “Wonderful driving, you two! Now, let us head off for the home station. All aboard! Gliscor?” Gliscor followed them quickly, chirping at the twins and nuzzling against them, making them giggle. It seemed happy with their abilities too. Staraptor joined their party as they sailed off into the unnatural sky, heading to a more familiar area.

I actually surprised the flamingo is not the most violent Pokémon noa has, at least towards her. Ok from most violent to least violent how would you rank her Pokémon on which ones are most likely to kill you, first chance they get. And how many times at her Pokémon almost killed her ?
Most violent: Bombirdier, absolute pecking bitch. Can and would likely kill you if ever given the chance, warms up the slowest because they're a salty bitch. (the Bombirdier that Arven caught is actually the Titan, but he didn't know that because it's normal sized now)
(which is funny, because out of the flock of Bombirdier he came across after chasing the one he scared off from Scarnoa, he caught the one that menaced them, SO WHOOPS)
Counting the Titan Fight...like maybe five times??? Almost??? Bitch is a demon and Arven legit has a rivalry with it.
Right after that, would be Rufflet. It's a bratty brat eaglet that still didn't appreciate getting grabbed, and just begrudgingly gets attached lmao. Would kill initially, but mellowed out considerably. Has tried maybe once to almost kill, but Arven mcfucking stopped that.
Rookidee, because it's an ANGY bird. Quickly calms down tho, but those first few hours was just GRAB ROUND BIRB AND SCREECH. Peck, peck, peck. Now, Rookidee just wants scritches.
Murkrow: Not exactly violent, but a little shit. Not as likely to kill you, but could if it was funny.
Hawlucha: Not really violent, but wants to square up. Won't go for the kill.
Flittle: Extremely violent, unfortunately, too small and weak to do any damage, so chooses mischief instead with psychic powers. Mellows out considerably once they evolve into the absolute DANGER Ostrich. Then Espathra is everyone ELSE'S problem.
Starly: Also violent but has a broken wing, so begrudgingly allows scritches and eventually grows attached. Very friendly, if threatening to everyone else lol.
Fletchling: Pecks, pecks, and pecks, but quickly becomes friendly.
Wattrel: Shocks every so often, but out of surprise. Otherwise, very friendly.
Tumblr media
Swablu: Absolute friend.
Oricorio: same as Swablu.
Quaxley: Big friend, too much love.
Flamigo: Least violent towards her, like, from the very beginning, has not hurt her in any sense. Very affectionate.
Tumblr media
big bords. Anyways, the rest of Scarnoa's Pokemon aren't at all violent, and she caught them normally. It's just the birds that have some differing temperaments since she just reached out AND GRABBED.
Tumblr media
SO MANY BIRDS.
But yeah, that Bombirdier is the one that has the most violence and most attempted kills. :V
Scarnoa still loves her. Arven does not. Not even a little. lmao

@flarefeu asked:
"I have something for you. For the Yule season." He smiled softly as he reached behind him to pull out a small box. "This belonged to my sister, actually. She had it in her bedroom--" His voice trailed off as he thought of the bedroom, now locked away with too much dust collecting on the furniture. The branch of the house that he never went to. He shook it away. "--and I thought it would be better suited to be in yours." He smiled gently. Inside the box was a mahogany music box. The family crest is etched into the veneered wood and inside sits a small, metal effigy of a fletchling. When wound, the song that came out was the same tune of the lullaby that he sung to her at night. "Happy Yule, little one."
Tumblr media
Silva wasn't expecting too much, she didn't thinks he really needed that much...it was enough to be able to celebrate, to be able to have a home, to have somewhere she belonged and was happy in. And oh how happy she was, practically bouncing in her boots, ready to run off outside as soon as she was able, to run around to play in the snow till the night would come and far past morning.
Tumblr media
Yet when she saw the box, her gaze seemed to remain still, curiosity mixing with surprise as she pushed herself up onto the tips of her toes to get a better look at it.
The mention of her father's sister made her smile, a little giggle as she nodded. She wondered if it was the pretty lady she sometimes saw, fading away yet always seeming to appear again. She hoped she saw her soon again. Silva hoped she was okay.
Even so, the girl held out her hands so that she could take the little music box, feeling old in her hands, energetic and full of life, even if not really...she giggled again, holding it tightly, she should put it on the table in her room!! Right next to her books, right next to where she could listen to it.
Without any further thought, the girl ushed herself forward to give her père a tight and warm embrace, speaking loudly, almost yelling-
" merci père!! i luve it!! happy mm...yule!!! "

About
•Ajax, they/he
•Professional battler
•Lover of bug types
•From Hoenn, currently live near Fourtree
My Mons
•Current Team:
-Lucario, Loki: Loki was my starter and first Pokémon. He was a riolu back then, a surprise baby from a ditto that was brought in by some rangers. I was already volunteering at the shelter at the time (I was 14) and just fell in love with him, and he was my favorite mon there. After a few weeks of taking care of him and reading up on Riolu, I ended up adopting him and he’s been my best friend ever since.
-Sylveon, Sam: Sam was one of the first Pokémon I caught myself, and he has been on my team ever since. He was the most food motivated eevee I’ve ever met, and that hasn’t changed. He his easily bribed with pokeblocks.
-Banette, Circus: Circus was another shelter mon, but I was already an adult when I got her. She was dumped as a Shuppet and was very unhappy about it, but seemed to get along with Sam. They hadn’t been able to find a forever trainer for her and I had trained a Shuppet in the past, although I ended up passing him to a ghost-type specialist as at the time I didn’t have the space for another team member. She came home with me and I’ve never regretted it.
-Roserade, Angel: Angel is another mon I caught as a young trainer, he was a Roselia at the time. He always needs to know what’s happening and going on, and training him to stay in his ball was a challenge.
-Bisharp, Hecate: I got Hecate from another trainer I met at my first showcase battle outside Hoenn. We both had a love of Bisharp/Pawniard, and it turned out she was from a family of pokemon breeders and her Bisharp had just had some eggs. I had experience with steel types from Loki and so she contacted me when the eggs hatched and were ready to go to homes, and thus I ended up with a tiny little Pawniard.
-Talonflame, Zephyr: I caught Zephyr in Kalos while there for an event, he was a very bold little fletchling who started divebombing me in an attempt to steal my sandwich. He didn’t back off even when I called out Circus to scare him off and I was worried what would happen to him if he did this to others, so I ended up catching him. He didn’t seem to mind. He just kept gunning for the sandwich as soon as I let him out.
•Other Mons:
-Zipper the Yanma: Zipper is a super shy little thing, ont of the first bugs I ever fostered from my local shelter and I just couldn’t send him back. He likes to cling to my back or ride on my head.
-Juniper the Whirlipede: Another rescue, we don’t know how she ended up in Hoenn, but suspect she was released by a trainer. She is incredibly sweet and I had wanted a Venipede since I was a small child so I knew a lot about them, so I took her in.
-Masquerade the Lampet: Masquerade was a Litwick when I caught him in Galar, I’d been wanting another ghost type for a while and Chandelure is a mon I knew would gel well with my battle style. He is training up to join my battle team as a rotating member.
-Gale the Swellow: Gale was a Taillow someone gifted to a friend of mine who loves birds, but they failed to actually talk to her about it first so they didn’t know that she is allergic to feathers… luckily I had the space to take Gale in. My friend still visits her regularly after taking plenty of allergy meds, and they occasionally compete in Cleverness Contests together.
-Sprite the Rhibombee: Sprite latched on to me as a Cutiefly when I was in Alola for a showcase. She refused to leave and wasn’t allowed on the plane home unless she was mine, so I caught her at the airport.
-Krios the Whimsicott: Krios blew into my yard as a Cottonee, and was somewhat battered from a big storm. I am authorized to rehab some types of Pokémon including Grass so I helped get her back to full heath and she has just stuck around since. I eventually ended up officially catching her because She seemed to have no interest in leaving.
-Goomber the Goomy: I acquired Goomber as an egg because I was hoping to raise a Goodra for my team. Though not a poison type, Goomy requires similar handling and as far as dragons go are some of the more laid back and “easier” ones to raise as someone who had not raised a dragon before. However, he has ended up being…. Not the brightest bulb in the box, so he has ended up more of a housemon than a battler.
-Gummi the Wurmple: Some of you may already know how I ended up with Gummi, as I chronicled Juniper’s temporary adoption of an army of Wurmples last year. Gummi is the only one who didn’t leave.

Reasons to (re)play CS3 part 1 finally continues once more…
Its been a while, hasn’t it? I’ve decided that Cold Steel will become my save heaven that I can return to whenever I feel lost in the world of gaming or have a strong, urgent need to return to Rean, Erebonia and Class7. I am in no rush to finish CS3 or start and finish CS4 and it might actually take months, if not even years for me to get through this playthrough as I will play many other games in the meantime as well. So don’t be surprised if you see me post a live reaction for another and another and another game before I post about CS3 yet again. However.... today, for now, I am in the mood to go to Crossbell with my Rean Bean, his little fletchlings and ALL my 4 blond Angels. Lets go, go, go!
Tumblr media
The fact that Rean doesn’t have the slightest bit of self-awareness XD And...
Tumblr media
...the fact that everyone but him is very aware of the impact Rean as on his surroundings.
Tumblr media
The fact that Randy understands that as of right now, he can’t do anything for the SSS but actually has a hard time understanding that meeting with Mireille might also not be a good idea. (I am ever so glad that - even tho it took a while - this ship will sail in the end.)
Tumblr media
The fact that Randy speaks like this of his future wife XD (Trails man have a tendency to deny their feelings for the woman they truly love... its a burden, really, but its also a lot of fun to watch them struggle with their feelings ;P)
Tumblr media
Altina saying what we all been thinking is also always a good reason to replay this game.
Tumblr media
The fact that, even tho we do not see much of the SSS throughout this game, despite being in Crossbell, the game still makes sure to pay proper respect to Lloyd and his team.
Tumblr media
All those very convenient coincidences... XD
Tumblr media
Juna is not one of my favorite characters, to be honest, but this Crossbell-Chapter really shows you her good sides. And this family-reunion-scene was definitely worth replaying CS3.
Tumblr media
The fact that you can’t help but wonder about what kind of Information she got about Rean, given that one of her sources is Alisa XD

So PMD AU thoughts
Amity is an Eevee, and yes she knows the typed Partner Eevee moves. She still knows them after she evolves in an Umbreon, which is a nasty surprise for Hunter when he confronts her for whatever plot equivalent I come up with for the key.
Willow starts out as a Chikorita learning to be offensive in battle when thats... not what she's meant for. When she figures out she's good at support, excellent at getting in people's way with her power, she thrives- and leads to her evolving into a Bayleef. Whenever she gets more growth in the coming season is when she'll be a Meganium.
Gus is a Zorua who often disguises himself as a Kecleon. Luz accidentally pops that illusion, which he doesn't mind because whoa a Noibat who was a former human? He's so good that his illusions can actually stand more than one hit. As he gets closer and closer to evolution, the more Pokémon he'll be able to make illusions of at once.
Hunter makes friends with a little Fletchling who has an everstone around their neck. He hides them however possible because the emperor's coven relies more on the strength of a single Pokémon rather than set teams.
Luz can use flying type moves, but only while she's in the air and flying. It's very annoying.
Eda is a Decidueye who is at threat of her ghost type overpowering her- yes, through a curse. Haven't worked out details quite yet. Lilith is a Corviknight.

CATS Pokemon AU
Made with help from @roxycake and @whitmerule
This is. Definitely not set within any proper game continuity. I’m picking and choosing my favorite aspects from the mainline games regardless of region. Technically, this is located in Galar, but it uses traditional gym challenge-Elite 4 format, and trainer classes that don’t appear in gen VIII, along with a different set of gym leader types. Also, contests and battle subways are here bc those were the shit.
**While I had help w/ categorizing characters and their types, I have headcanons that differ from those of the ppl who helped give input. I’m gonna try and not define relationships in this post, but if I do more with this, then I’m working with my own headcanons/ships/etc. If anyone wants to do anything with this that differs, go ahead!
Main 3 trainers+their partner pokemon:
Jemima-Fletchling
A cyclist-class trainer
Electra-Toxel
A dancer-class trainer
George-Tyrogue
A young, hiker-class trainer
Gym Leaders:
Etcetera-Bug
A friend of the main 3; she invites them to her gym as their first challenge. She was probably holding back during the gym battles with the 3, but don’t tell anyone.
Jennyanydots-Normal
A matronly but stern, disciplined trainer who has held her title for decades. She runs the gym next door to the pokemon school, and offers the students free time to practice and train with their pokemon.
Plato-Ground
A talented trainer who all the same doesn’t like his position as a trainer of ground types. He takes his loss as an excuse to begin training in Etcetera’s gym.
Pouncival-Flying
Another young gym leader. the trio first met him while taking a flying taxi between towns, as he’s also a cabbie. He’s got an unsinkable personality, and appears deceptively oblivious. He knows his way around flying-type pokemon, and he’s not one to overlook.
Rum Tum Tugger-Electric
A dazzling and maybe slightly overconfident leader who’s one of the newest to his title. He’s also well known in the Contest World, as he got his real start as a wildly successful coordinator. There’s his pikachu, too. People are obsessed with his pikachu.
Victoria-Ice
A figure skater as well as a gym leader. Her gym is sleek and elegant; balance and dexterity are musts to even reach her spot. Don’t be fooled by her gym’s cold presentation, though; if there were ever a trainer more excited than Pouncival to experience a wide variety of challengers, it’s her.
Coricopat and Tantomile-Psychic
Better be ready to see double. Sometimes they move in sync, mirroring each other’s attacks perfectly; other times, they’ll wipe you off your feet by acting beyond prediction. Can they really see your next move? Have they simply been doing this too long to be surprised? Yes.
Mistoffelees-Fairy
Are you put off by people who simultaneously view you as inferior while also lacking proper self confidence of their own? Good luck making it through a battle against Mistoffelees. A highly capable trainer, he’s still a bit uncomfortable with his position as gym leader. Most people wouldn’t pick up on this though, as he makes quick work of them.
Elite 4:
Bombalurina-Fire
A passionate and ruthless trainer, Bomba has dedicated her life to cultivating a team that’s always ready to win.
Alonzo- Water
A laid-back, casual, young researcher more interested in swimming and surfing than paperwork. He’ll disarm you with his sweet-talk and inviting demeanour, then hit you like a tidal wave.
Cassandra-Dragon
An elegant, intimidating force to be reckoned with, her battle style mixes beauty with ferocity. Don’t worry about being tricked into security, if you feel at all on her level, you’re likely over-confident.
Demeter-Poison
A former member of Team Enigma and a steadfast ally to the main trio. She gave Electra her Toxel when it was just an egg, and has an Amped Toxtricity as her own partner. Demeter is a genuinely kind soul. Her drive to empower young trainers has kept her in The Elite 4 for some time, and she doesn’t plan on giving that up any time soon. She won’t hold back in battle, but she does, notably, avoid status-changing attacks.
Champion
Munkustrap
Smart, kind, powerful, and stressed, Munkustrap has been a familiar face to the trio, much like Demeter. He’s honestly eager to be usurped, ready to step back and re-evaluate his goals in life.
Former Elites/Champion:
Director Gus-Dragon/Rock
Former member of the Elite Four, he has returned to his true passion of theatre, owning and maintaining a space in Wyndon. He’s also a frequent judge at contests.
Grizabella-Steel
A former league champion, she has since retired to The Crown Tundra. In her time away from the league she has journeyed to multiple regions, and has many pokemon foreign to the Galar region.
Professor Deuteronomy-Grass
Former member of the Elite Four, he left the league after a few years, drawn instead to pokemon research. Understanding the root cause of type distinctions has become his life’s work. Of his recent experiments, he has been testing type determination in-egg through gene splicing and nesting conditions.
OTHERS
Skimbleshanks-Battle Metro Boss
Currently overseeing the Battle Metro, Skimble is under pressure to keep attendance up as people have begun migrating to other battle spots. Unlike other rail workers, he does not specialize in steel or ground types, instead holding a roster of largely Normal and flying pokemon.
Jellylorum-Pokemon breeder
You can find her in a quiet corner of Wyndon, nearby Director Gus’ theatre. She runs a daycare and a breeding center.
Tumblebrutus-Research Assisstant.
A friend of the main 3 and frequent conduit to Professor Deut. He checks in at irregular intervals.
Bustopher Jones-Gentleman
A jolly, round man who likes to frequent cafes, and take picnics on the countryside.
Team Enigma
Macavity-Dark/ghost
The leader of Team Enigma, Macavity is a criminal mastermind hellbent on stealing Deuteronomy’s research on type distinctions, and exploiting it for his own benefit. He has no particular worldwide aspirations beyond expanding his realm of influence, but while he’s no mere thug, that doesn’t mean he isn’t a brutal fighter.
Henchcats-Poison/Dark
The Henchcats are Enigma grunts. They’re easy enough to best once you’ve figured out their routine, but they always fight in pairs. Macavity expects many of his grunts to use poison types for their status-changing attacks.
Jerrie and Teazer-Poison
Notable grunts who seem to have reservations about their job. The two appear to genuinely enjoy battling the trio, and, unlike many grunts, seem to have connections beyond Team Enigma.
Other Notes
Jellylorum, Jennyanydots, Skimbleshanks, and Bustopher Jones are all childhood friends, and are still in touch. They are currently raising 4 Skwovet siblings between them all.
Many gym leaders also work with Professor Deuteronomy to study type distinctions.
Personally, I see the main 3 (+Etcetera and Pounce) as middle/older teens; 15 at the youngest. If the player character in the games can wait until age 12 to even get a pokemon when there are preschoolers battling pokemon, these three can be older teens who decided one day that they wanna go on a journey across the region.
