Do you think Sephiroth got training in hand to hand combat? How good do you think he could be without his sword?

Considering that Sephiroth is allegedly the strongest clump of matter to ever walk the face of the planet, being solely trained in the field of swordwork would be a pretttttyyyy big achilles heel. Like you’re telling me if a Dragon was to hypothetically swallow Masamune or if the thing was to snap then Sephiroth would be done for? No way! No how! This guy’s for sure trained in other forms of combat—although most definitely prefers to stick to the grace and art of a comically long blade.

I personally headcanon that Hojo used to make him wrestle monsters as a little baby but we don’t have to go there lmao.

I don’t think Seph would be quite Master Splinter levels of skilled when it comes to hand-to-hand combat (most points are again poured into weaponry), but this fella is still FREAKISHLY strong. Put Sephiroth in the octagon and whoever’s hapless enough to fight him is gonna go home with a broken ribcage. On top of that Seph is also incredibly swift and speedy, meaning he can probably land some decent hits and kicks and gain some good momentum as he’s bouncing all around his opponent.

But for real. Come on. Can you actually envision this man throwing punches and kicks? The imagery is just wrong xD

ok so please consider jason at his ToA boarding school just waiting for apollo to show up to herald his imminent prophesied death. except before that happens, he instead gets nico dropping in for a surprise visit via shadowtravel, here to tear jason a new asshole about the fact that he had to hear about the jasiper breakup from some rando at camp. like, goddamn jason, you were the one pushing so hard for this friendship but you're not gonna actually reach out about any of the important stuff like an actual friend?

and jason's kinda simultaneously heartwarmed and guilty and eventually admits he hasn't really told anyone about it himself — anything nico heard through the grapevine originally stemmed from anyone piper talked to about it. because for all that jason really does mean it with all his friendship and support talk, it's hard for him to accept it in the other direction. he doesn't want to unload his issues on others, especially when he feels like it'd just be petty and ungrateful for him to complain about anything. which is of course some stupid suffering olympics kinda thinking that nico scolds him for. and with a little prying jason also admits to the whole death prophecy thing. which nico also reams him hard for but is also halfway to a breakdown thinking about, and then jason doesn't have to worry over whether nico's ok with being touched right then because nico's just hugging him instead because fuck you jason grace, you don't get to work your way into his heart like that and then go off to die without a word, fuck youuu.

(also feat. some navigating a way out of that whole "imminent death" thing once everyone's calmed down and jason's accepted that he doesn't have to carry this whole Noble Heroic Sacrifice burden alone)

Thinking thoughts about Keegan.

He's like... cool and calm. That's what he needs to be. He works best when he's chill, it means he can think through a plan properly, rather than just going with the first idea that seems passable.

But he is capable of so much rage if the right buttons are pushed.

Not like Hesh, where he'll shout and curse at any provocation.

Keegan does very well to pretend he isn't angry, when he very much is. He's thinking. Seething. Everything building up like steam in a pressure cooker.

Shown during the stadium mission. He's very calm throughout most of it, but when they get to that first room they saw Ajax in, he grabs a soldier and slams them into a wall. Screams in their face when the guy's already scared shitless. When they get the answers they can and the guy runs his use through, Keegan stabs him in the throat and lets him drop. That wouldn't kill the guy immediately. It's more likely that he choked to death on his own blood for a few minutes rather than dying right away. Later, under the stadium, similar thing. Smacks a guy into a wall and stabs him, thought that was more to keep their cover than anything else. I guess the locker room is another example. He goes in with two pistols, which is just a total show-off move lmao.

And that's just a slice of it!

I genuinely think this guy is capable of just going mad/feral if he wanted to, he just doesn't because he got trained out of it before Logan and Co (Hesh, Riley.) met him. (Can imagine him after SV, a little ball of rage, and anytime he does something taboo Elias just gets him with the spray bottle lmao.)
