I immediately drew Sunny’s sister, Star. I dunno why I just felt the need immediately after. Anyways have her, she probably isn’t as sweet as her sister actually.

Hoodie
Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Words: 1.3K
Summary: Someone stole your favorite hoodie.
AN: I had this cute little idea for an au. So here it is! Natasha in a hoodie is still one of my favorite looks of her.
Tumblr media
You had been looking everywhere for your favorite hoodie for over an hour but it seemed like it disappeared from the face of the earth. The last time you saw it was a couple days ago when it laid on your desk. You were sure of it. Nothing but an old nirvana t-shirt and purple hoodie that Kate forgot was on your desk. Continue looking for your hoodie would only waste more time so you decided to visit your best friend who lived a couple blocks away.
You quickly threw on a pair of vans and a jacket, grabbed your keys and left your tiny apartment with frustration. The 10 minute walk to the Avengers Tower helped you calm down but still were super bummed that your favorite hoodie was now gone. At the Tower you had to go through security before getting on the elevator up to the lounge where your best friend Yelena was most likely chilling. Steve and Bucky were the only ones there though.
"Hey guys!" You greeted them with a friendly smile. "Has any of you two seen Yelena?"
Bucky shook his head, which you expected since he and Yelena barely saw each other anyways. "I'm sorry, Yelena just had gone out with Kate and Peter I believe." Steve told you. You nodded sadly, thinking about if you should call her to meet up with them or not. "Natasha is in her room though." You blushed at the mention of the red head. Cap and Bucky were the only people who knew of your crush on Natasha. They constantly gave you the chance to be closer to her which was super sweet of them. You mumbled a small thanks before making your way towards her room which was a floor below.
You were so busy with your thoughts that you forgot to knock, you busted right into her room where she was talking to someone or rather something. She talked to her phone, it looked like she was either filming herself or being in a video chat. "Ohh.." You felt the heat of guilt and embarrassment in your face. "I'm so sorry. I should have knocked first."
She turned her head around when she heard your voice, also starting to smile at the sight of you being in her room. You returned a shy smile back to her, trying hard not to show any signs of the crush you have on her. Natasha waved you in before you could make up your mind to just leave her alone. You quickly closed the door behind you before you rushed to her side. Then you finally saw what she was doing, filming something on some app you don't recognize. "Is that TikTok?"
Natasha snorted, "It's actually Instagram."  The information of her using Instagram was new to you and also kind of surprising. "You should actually know that since you know... you have an account there."
"Oh honey, just because I have an account doesn't mean I have the app on my phone and use it." The words just came out of you before you could even realize what you were about to say. Nat fully turned her body to you, your eyes immediately took her full form in and that's when you realized that she was wearing your clothes. She was wearing your favorite hoodie, the one you were looking for all this time. How it landed here with her was beyond you. "Like what you see?" She teased you as she caught you starring at her.
"T-that's my hoodie." She looked down her own body, then looking back up into your eyes with slight confusion. "You're wearing my favorite hoodie right now. I was looking for it all day Tasha!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't know it was yours." She apologized. "I stole it from Yelena's room thinking it was her's or Kate's."
"Cука!" You muttered to yourself. It made perfect sense that Yelena stole it, she was the last one visiting you in your apartment a day or two days ago.
Natasha grinned at you, she liked that you cursed her sister in their mother language. "Here let me give it back to you." She took off your hoodie in one swift motion and now stood in front of you in a bra. You were shocked that she was confident and comfortable enough to stand there so exposed. After the shock was over you tried your best not to look at her boobs, so your eyes wandered around her room. When you looked to her desk you saw her and yourself on the phone screen. That was when you realized that it was still recording, you shyly step in front of her phone to cover the camera with your back. "You're still recording." You told her with a hint of uneasiness in your voice. Her eyes suddenly became big. "Oh shit.. Y/N I'm not recording anything, I'm live on Instagram!" The panic was written all over her face.
"Good thing you don't have many followers to tune in.. right?" You ask her cluelessly. She huffed, she would have loved your innocence about social media if it were for a different situation that didn't include exposing herself half naked to the world.
"Detka, I'm an Avenger." She stated. You nodded, "Wow! Who would have thought!" The sarcasm and teasing was dripping from you. "So what?" Natasha sighed, she was getting tired of this situation. "Turn around and look at the upper right corner." You did as you were told to do, there in the corner was a tiny viewer count saying 50K and it kept growing by each second. Only then you realized why Natasha reacted the way she did. "How do you end this live thing??"
Natasha noticed your now new panicked state and found it quite amusing. "You gotta.. uhm.. on the right.. wait let me just.." She stepped behind you and pressed her body into yours, hiding her half exposed body from the world. You felt her arms brushing against each side of your body, trying to navigate her way to end the livestream. With every movement she made you felt her boobs, that were pressed against your back, even more. Warmth spread through your whole body and you start to panic since you couldn't control yourself anymore. Don't say anything stupid. Don't say anything stupid. Don't say anything stupid. You constantly told yourself.
Both of you sighed in relief when you saw that the livestream had ended. She leaned her forehead against your shoulder for a second before taking a step back and turning you around by your waist. "You could have returned my hoodie later." Natasha continued to stare at your face, only meeting your gaze from time to time. "How come you forgot that you were live?"
As soon as the words were out of your mouth, her gaze returned to yours, her green eyes looked into your y/e/c ones softly. "I got distracted." Nat admitted. You raised your left eyebrow, not getting what would distracted her that much. "By what?" "You." Your breath got caught in your throat. "M-me?"
She gave you a small shy smile and nodded. "Yes, you." Your heart beat so fast that you could heart it in your ears. It was also a reason why you could not stop stuttering. "W-w-why?"
"Is that not obvious?" She teased you before her whole aura got serious. "You always looks so cute and you talking russian just made things worse." Holy motherfucker... NATASHA ROMANOFF FINDS ME CUTE. The two of you stood there with blushing cheeks looking all awkward and like two idiots who didn't know how to make a first step.
"I honestly don't know what to say."
She took your hands into hers, holding them softly in between your bodies, squeezing them a bit because of her nervousness. "Would you go on a date with me?" You felt your voice slip away so you just nodded and smiled at her widely.

2, 3, 11, and 20 for the 3 things asks. 😊💜
2. 3 movies you have rewatched many times
What happened in Vegas, all How to Train Your Dragon movies and all Star Wars movies. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve watched these movies 😅.
3. 3 songs that mean something to you.
My brother in law wrote a song for me when I was much younger, called Jetlag. The title came to be ‘Jetlag’ because when I went to visit my sister and him in London, I suffered from severe Jetlag and had to be wheeled out of the plane in a wheelchair because I fainted after landing 😅. But the song was actually quite sweet and he dedicated it to me during one of his club gigs that I went to while I was there.
Nirvana- Smells like teen spirit. In my teenage years, my best friend and I used to listen to this song on repeat. During sleepovers we used to have it loud and crazy dance. Hearing the song now brings back those fun memories.
Baby get shaky - The Ian Cary project. This song was a favourite song of mine when I was 18, which is when my life took off, marking the beginning of adulthood for me (I moved out of home then), made new friends, met my partner and began my studies. I still remember listening to this song while unpacking my stuff in my new home.
Hearing it now reminds of that baby faced person I was back then, who was so determined to make it her own way without any help and prove everyone wrong who said I wouldn’t be able to.
11. 3 books that you would recommend everyone to read
Any books written from L.J Smith, especially if you are a fantasy fan. The Hunger Games trilogy and Harry Potter. Each tell great stories.
20. 3 adjectives that you’d use to describe yourself
Persistent, plain and loyal.
Thank you for sending in 😊💜

Amicitia Twins AU Playlist
Spotify | Youtube
These sweet boys are filled with passion and pride. Its only fitting that their music reflects some of that~ This was mostly a grab bag but it suits them, I don’t see them being overly picky about a certain type. Playlist headcanons down below!
Heart-Shaped Box by Nirvana ~ Aster loves this song. It’s got nostalgic value from when he was younger. He actually gave a valentine a heart-shaped charm box long ago. Gladio plays this song when Aster’s away cos he used to play it so much.
Innervision by System of a Down ~ Aster listens to this song alot when he’s away from home. It reminds him of sparring with Gladio and training hard, figuring out how to warp. It was tough time but he managed s best he could.
Amsterdam by Imagine Dragons ~ This song to Aster carries the weight of him being in the Kingsglaive. He knows how dangerous it is and how scary it can be, not knowing when he’ll be able to see his family again. Each mission is getting more and more perilous. Aster counts his lucky stars each and every time he manages to get home in one piece.
Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons ~ Aster knows how unfair things are for glaives. He knows how they’re treated, and he kindly corrects the rude people. He listens to this song and he pictures all of the blood, sweat and tears the other glaives put into their jobs everyday.
Do For Love by 2Pac ~ Gladio and Aster are well versed in dating. They’re smart about it but they like to enjoy themselves. Doesn’t mean that someone didn’t work their way into Aster’s heart. It was a painful breakup because they were unfaithful, but it was better that Aster found out before his deployment. This song helped him quite a bit and he learned from his mistakes.
Lava Lamp by Cuco ~ Both boys know that love is waiting for them out there somewhere. They’re young and very busy with work. Gladio isn’t a very big fan of this song but Aster likes it well enough. He likes to listen to it while reading.
One and Only by Cuco ~ This song Aster saves for special occasions. He wants to experience deep love but knows that he won’t be able to for a very long time. He wants to settle down with someone. After dancing with death several times, he knows what kind of life he wants to lead. He wants to grow old with someone.
Feel Good Inc. by Gorillaz ~ Gladio learned this song on the guitar. He played it badly but he didn’t care. He was excited to learn and Aster cheered him on. When Aster plays this, he’s immediately taken back to his teens. He remembers the chords only because Gladio called them out as he tried to play.
November Has Come by Gorillaz ~ Aster tried his very best to memorize the lyrics to the rap bits of this song. But he failed many times. He plays this every November and he thinks back to the previous November and where he was. He’s either home or away on a mission.
Leave Out All the Rest by Linkin Park~ When Iris sometimes calls, he feels a pang in his heart for his baby sister. He misses her so much and one time when she called in the dead of night to make sure he was alive after she had a nightmare that he died, he cried with her. This song is a reminder for him to send his love to his family more often.
Sucker for Pain by Imagine Dragons, X Ambassador, Logic, etc ~ Aster realizes how crazy he was to sign up to be a part of the Kingsglaive. He is an Amicitia, he could have chosen to do anything else, yet he chose this. And he doesn’t regret it at all. He listens to this song while getting ready for battle, for a sparring match.
Cool With You by Her’s ~ Gladio secretly loves this song. He won’t admit it but it grew on him. He and Aster imagine romantic scenarios with potential s/os often to pass the time. They’re complete doofuses in love and these love songs are just feeding fuel into the fire. Main reason why Gladio doesn’t really listen to music that much. Main reason why Aster does.
Lo Que Siento by Cuco ~ Think we found Aster’s favorite artist. Also i hc that the Amicitias can speak spanish hhh. Aster, once he finds a good someone to settle down with, wants to play this song on repeat for them. He loves deeply and wants them to know it. Gladio makes fun of him for liking these ypes of songs, bust Aster gets him right back by playing them on repeat and getting them stuck in his head.
Suga Suga by Baby Bash and Frankie J ~ Both Gladio and Aster loved this song when they were younger. It was when they listened to it again and understanding the lyrics as they got older, they busted out laughing. They both still dearly love this song though, its a timeless classic.
Hail to the King by Avenged Sevenfold ~ Once while in the training room, someone put this song in the speaker system and almost all the glaives started to laugh. Aster laughed it off but he ended up liking the song enough to find out its info and listen to it on his early morning jog.
Kind of a weird selection of songs? Let me know what you guys think or if theres any songs that you feel might fit them! Thank you for reading!

Manga the Week of 9/4/19
SEAN: It’s always September somewhere in the manga lists.
J-Novel Club has infinite light novels, or at least Infinite Stratos 9 (digitally) and Infinite Dendrogram 1 & 2 (print). There’s also the print debut of Ascendance of a Bookworm, as well as the 3rd light novel digitally, which wraps up the first arc. And we get the 3rd Full Metal Panic! novel.
ASH: Oh, print debut! That means it’s time for me to check out Ascendance of a Bookworm!
SEAN: In print, Kodansha debuts a spinoff, Cells At Work: Code Black. Unlike the relatively healthy body the main series takes place in, Code Black takes place in an unhealthy middle-aged body. It also seems to have Rule 63 Red and White Blood Cell. It runs, believe it or not, in Morning Magazine.
MICHELLE: Probably I will read this.
ASH: I will absolutely read this! I greatly enjoy the original Cells at Work.
SEAN: Digitally we get another debut with Smile Down the Runway (Runway de Waratte), a manga about a girl who’s trying her best to be a runway model at her father’s agency. Unfortunately… she’s only 5’2″. Can a short woman still have what it takes to be a model? Despite a very josei-sounding premise, this actually runs in Weekly Shonen Magazine. That said, it doesn’t seem like it has the usual “danger signs” of Shonen Magazine series.
ANNA: Hmmmm.
MELINDA: I feel like there’s no way this can be anything but horrifying. But. As Anna said, “Hmmmm.”
SEAN: There’s also Blissful Land 4, Boarding School Juliet 12, Goodbye I’m Being Reincarnated! 2, My Pink Is Overflowing 3, My Sweet Girl 6, Our Precious Conversations 4, and The Tale of Genji: Dreams at Dawn 7.
ASH: I still have my fingers crossed for print release of The Tale of Genji.
SEAN: Seven Seas debuts the Arifureta Zero light novel spinoff in print. They’ve also got Akashic Records of Bastard Magical Instructor 7, A Centaur’s Life 17, Nirvana 4, and Non Non Biyori 12.
Tokyopop gives us a 3rd Aria the Masterpiece, and a 6th Futaribeya, but still can’t provide any cover artwork without a giant ‘coming soon’ banner on it. Not that I’m bitter.
Viz has no debuts this month, alas. But hey, this does not mean they don’t have a ton. On the shonen end, we get a giant Assassination Classroom box set with every single volume. There’s also Black Clover 17, Blue Exorcist 22, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba 8, Dr. STONE 7, Dragon Ball Super 6, Haikyu!! 34, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War 10, One Piece 3-in-1 29, Twin Star Exorcists 16, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc V 6.
MICHELLE: Of these, I’m only reading Haikyu!!, but my love for it is boundless.
ANNA: One of these days I need to catch up on Haikyu!!, but my kids love it and read every volume as it comes out. I am enjoying Dr. STONE too.
ASH: Ack! I am so far behind on my Shonen Jump reading!
SEAN: On the shoujo end, there is Anonymous Noise 16, Daytime Shooting Star 2, Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits 5, Snow White with the Red Hair 3, and The Demon Prince of Momochi House 14.
MICHELLE: Quite a lot of goodness here! I’m perhaps most keen for the newer titles like Snow White with the Red Hair and Daytime Shooting Star.
ANNA: Me too!
ASH: Likewise, although The Demon Prince of Momochi House still has its hooks in me, too.
SEAN: Lastly, Yen Press may be into September but it still has its August titles, some of which are debuts. Combatants Will Be Dispatched! (Sentouin, Hakenshimasu!) is a new light novel series by the creator of KonoSuba, and is supposed to be quite funny. A mix of sci-fi and fantasy, it’s about an evil minion who finds he has to invade a fantasy-based world.
The other light novel debut has a more light novel-ish title, The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt (Hey, How About Treason?) (Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu ~Sou da, Baikoku Shiyou~). Again, the title is the plot. The prince wants an easy life without much to do, so decides to betray his country. Sadly, he’s too good at being a genius, and every scheme he comes up with makes the nation’s people love him more.
ASH: That sounds like it could be amusing.
SEAN: There’s also an 11th Baccano!, which takes us all the way back to 1705; The Devil Is a Part-Timer! 14; and I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level 5.
On the manga end, Yen debuts three titles, though one is a light novel adaptation. Do You Love Your Mom (and Her Two Hit, Multi-Target Attacks)? needs no introduction by now, so we’ll move on, except to say it runs in Young Ace Up.
Phantom Tales of the Night (Bakemono no Yawazukushi) is a shoujo-ish series from Comic Gene, and is about an inn which takes its payment in secrets. Sounds sort of anthology-esque to me.
ASH: Oh! I’m always interested in new shoujo horror manga!
SEAN: Reborn as a Polar Bear: The Legend of How I Became a Forest Guardian (Shirokuma Tensei: Mori no Shugoshin ni Natta zo Densetsu) runs online on the Comic Walker site, and its title is, again, its plot. But, werewolf sisters! Also, the polar bear seems unlikely to amass a harem.
And we get Final Fantasy: Lost Stranger 3, Happy Sugar Life 2, DanMachi: Episode Lyu’s 4th manga, Kakegurui Twin 3, Plunderer omnibus 2, a 9th Sekirei omnibus, Spirits & Cat Ears 8, Star Wars: Lost Wars 2, and Yowamushi Pedal omnibus 12.
MICHELLE: Yowamushi!!!
ASH: Yay!!!
SEAN: So what titles are you hiding behind your textbook at school to read?

Montreux Jazz kicked off a bit more than a week ago. The 52d edition is inaugurating a House of Jazz placed within the Petit Palais premises facing the entrance of Montreux Palace. I had the privilege to experience three massive pop-art performances by Charlotte Gainsbourg, Massive Attack and Etienne Daho. Before the Breton singer, there’s another gigantic name on the bill at the world famous Stravinski Hall, He is to step on the stage. Paolo Conte, a former notary in northern Italy. He brought over the decades the italian jazz to an international playground. I’d like to talk about that very respectable singer to begin with. He is a real maestro and Montreux Jazz Festival is home for him, like Leonard Cohen or David Bowie were when they were with us.
Tumblr media
A light in night in the city of Montreux, the famous logo shines everywhere.
First keys hit on the piano and here’s a shock: “Azzurro” pops out and goes straight to my ears. It is genuine, straight forward, vibrant… patriotic in a very romantic way. This is indeed an hymn for Italians from all over the world, a sort of alternative “Fratelli d’Italia”, that a large group of vocal italian-speaking members of the audience sing along with their heart out. Chills in the backbone and shivers all along the skin, that song reaches its goal, it is moving, comfortably reassuring, a “crowdpleaser”. The title was written by Vito Palavicini to go along with music made by Paolo Conte.
Tumblr media
Paolo Conte, from the stage at the Stravinski Hall, courtesy of Paolo Conte official
In their professional generosity, the title will be actually popularized by a star of the Italian cantautori Adriano Celentano. Paolo Conte uses his piano skills, not only for the usic purpose, but also to set the tune of a warm summernight tale. His fingers walk his board on the white and black keys. The jazzman marks with his rocky voice every single piece of lyrics of his rich repertoire. That “jazz standard” written for Adriano Celentano is also his after all. We have the impression of a nice mix of Leonard Cohen, for the low voice, Serge Gainsbourg for the originality and Louis Armstrong for the pop dramaturgy of his jazz pieces.
Tumblr media
While Conte sings, Montreux Palace facing the House of Jazz enlighted
The singer is very inspired by the gestures and the performances of his musicians on stage. The accordionist moves his two hands like a ballet dancer would move his legs gently first, then with some kind of sudden madness, as if a tango competition was taking place in a crowded milonga from Buenos Aires. Conte worships his musicians and pushes forward every little shot of happiness, clouds of lightness, drops of rhythms to storm into a song, meaning to massage the eardrum in the mist of trumpet sound waves… Conte is the mastermind of a plot where something special always happens. The magnetic Piedmontese octogenarian is here for the show and also for a communion with both his fellow musicians and his audience. A sort of pope of emo-jazz, a melting-pop conductor, a “gentile” speaker of very few words coming out of his deeply low mouth in between songs. The overflowing respect of the demanding mentor transpires all over.
“Via con me” is being played, the famous “It’s wonderful…”, another moment of fusion in awe, while the audience asks for more (for one of the greatest standards “Un Gelato Al Limon” many times, for instance). The classical guitarist that is in charge of multiple soli is ecstatic. He trips on a very catchy riff while the crazy violinist seems to reach the nirvana. It is a music night, it is the opening night of Montreux Jazz Festival and Daho is on deck. The once pop superstar of the French charts came back last year with a brilliant new electro-rock LP called “Blitz” but we’ll talk about it a bit later. Let us move on to the most spectacular drummer in sight Monday night. Charlotte Gainsbourg’s drumbanger sets the tempo and it is magic.
Drummer in the dark, using his sticks to beat the drum as a metronome, well done!
This is the moment at the Montreux Jazz Lab, last Monday night, that Charlotte Gainsbourg shows that she is really moved. She starts “Charlotte Forever” as a tribute to her highly admired father. Serge is here with us with that song being played. She also goes on with a very pure and ethereal hommage to her sister Kate Barry who died in 2013, a song that was written fir “Rest”, her latest album. Plunging the audience into an early-night nostalgia for the past and delivering a pleasant and sweet snapshot of the present. An hour with Charlotte is precious, a sort of musical romance that comes and goes with a selection of inventive songs inviting electro beats, sepulchral vocals, fragile chorus close to the bone, a sophisticated machinery.
The group around Charlotte brings an orchestral grandeur to the very intimate lyrics in both French and English, gathered in his latest LP co-written and produced with electro french-touch reference SebastiAn, with the help of guests like Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo from Daft Punk, Dangermouse, Connan Mockasin, Paul McCartney or the poet Sylvia Plath. The visual part of the show with large neon back and white frames (something that Charlotte shares with her once duo partner Daho) strikes the eyes as if it was a stroboscobic night in a mininal techno club somewhere in an old Berlin neighborhood in the 1990’s. I loved the set and I loved the light show, a bit like I did for Etienne Daho three nights prior.
Tumblr media
Daho, stealing the show with new songs from his rockier than ever LP “Blitz”
The pop veteran Daho shares with Charlotte Gainsbourg more than a futuristic decorum on stage. He also managed to transform “Bleu comme toi”, “Week-end à Rome” into all new gigantic electro-rock pieces, helped in that respect by long-time music-production partner Jean-Louis Pierot (from the French pop duet Les Valentins) who knows Etienne’s dreams by heart. They also share the same sensation when it comes to propel a certain idea of France on a much anglosaxon background. Daho is very much indeed a british influenced rock n’pop French representative. Rennes, his hometown is also the capital city of indie pop music in France. And there is a whole new cycle of old-timers of the Rennes’ rock scene reuniting these days, Daho with his fans to begin with and Marquis de Sade, a band that will be on tour these coming months to the pleasure of many fans who were left to wait alone with weaker projects from the members of the band somewhere between 1981 and 2017. Maybe one day, Niagara will come out of the darkness too, who knows?
Daho, let’s talk about this man, always very generous, warm in his relationship with his fans, also warm with that very peculiar voice that seemed barely upfront in old records. Production from back in the days did not know the old emphasized sound of a voice take “à la Abbey Road”. With the years passing, Daho learnt how to play with his natural organ. It completely changed for an all-over-the-place “low” way of singing, something really touching as Daho is happy to hold the microphone to take over his shyness. Nothing is tamed in his live show, his new approach is much noisier, in your face. The voice is compressed by the technological means, the guitars are struggling with one aim: to reach a form of wall of sound, Smoke, lights, everything is here to impress the guests. The melodies of the 1980’s are rejuvenated, the recent hits like “Le Premier Jour” are rougher and groovier. Daho renewed himself and seems fighting fit to fill up big arenas. Some Johnny Halliday’s fans that I know were here, convinced. For them, Daho succeeded in galvanizing Montreux.
Tumblr media
Daho, music partner Jean-Louis Pierot in white shirt and the rest of the band
Last but not least, the wonderful comeback of Massive Attack struck me as a real epitomy of my Montreux experience in 2018. 3D (Robert Del Naja) and Daddy G (Grantley Evan Marshall) are still rolling around the world, more politically conscious than ever about their responsability as human beings, contradicting obscurantism with peaceful anthems that are still resonating as chants for unification of torn appart societies. “Safe From Harm”, “Unfinished Sympathy”, “Blue Lines”, “Protection”, “Karmacoma”, “Angel”, “Teardrop”… the list of songs that turned people’s ears’ on from all over the world remains impressive. The visual show projects news agencies feeds in French about the migrants or the populist crisis that hits Europe. The slogans about the world controlled by its population, the pictures of desperate people who left their villages to risk their lives across northern african places and the mediterrean sea push the audience to step out of their comfort zone and think. And as Phil Collins said in a song, “it ‘s another day in paradise for you and me” and it is another day safe from harm for the Montreux Jazz attendance. The British trip-hop moguls display an unselfish carreer helping the poorest and the most people at stake within their country and all around the world, Something that the Queen of England or the newcomers in the international political stage Salvini or Kurz would never do. Just for that, I want to say thank you, let me vote for you whenever you decide to found your own political party.

People Are Strange :: Daily Grind #167
I'm a people person. But probably not in a good way.
Maybe I should say, people fascinate me. I like to watch them and tear apart their little idiosyncrasies. I like to study their every move that makes them...them. I'm amazed at how similar we all are, and yet how it's these little nuances that make us all so very different.
Example A, in line the other day at a coffee place, I'm watching the guy in front of me study the menu board. His right hand rubbing his goatee. I do that. Probably a lot. In thought, my right hand raises involuntary, like breathing, starts stroking my chin. But this guys left hand was what set him apart and really got my attention. He was tapping his left hand on his left thigh in rhythm to the song playing on the coffee house sound system. He was really going at it. I wondered if he even knew he was doing it. In the brief pause between songs, this guy's hand paused. The music started again, the hand in perfect rhythm, began tapping again too. So, one of my little idiosyncrasies kicked in, and I immediately began constructing a backstory for this new character in the play I call my life.
His name was Jesse and he was the original drummer for Nirvana. Full name, Jesse Wankstainer. (As a teen, he had a brief run in porn movies and decided to keep the stage name.) Cobain had met Jesse years earlier at a Rotary Club mixer back in Aberdeen, Washington. (For some reason, I always remember that's where Cobain was from.) They started playing a few small gigs  around Seattle. I imagined American Bandstand style shows with screaming girls crying in the front row. Jesse and Kurt in long sleeve plaid shirts tucked into Lee jeans. Hair long but not yet full on Castrol motor oil greasy Everything was going so well, their manager, who looked a lot like Tom Hanks character from the movie 'That Thing You Do',  told them they were going to be huge and go play the state fair in Topeka! But then Cobain found out Jesse was dating his little sister behind his back. I have no idea if Cobain actually had a little sister, and I also have no idea why it would be such a big deal if Jesse dated her, but damn....Kurt was pissed. Anyway, it was almost my turn to order so I had to finish the story quickly. Kurt and Jesse wound up tussling behind a bowling alley in Spokane. And by "tussling" I mean Cobain mumbled something like, "Hey, stop going around with my sister." And Jesse in a barely audible reply, "No, man." And Kurt just says, "We're donesy, dude."
I laughed a bit under my breath because it's super funny to me to imagine Kurt Cobain saying the word 'Donesy'. For all I knew, there might have been someone directly behind me in line picking up on the fact that there's a guy in line laughing for no apparent reason. Maybe there was and maybe they were making up a story about me in a loony bin with Jack Nicholson. Could be. Just never know. Because people are weird. And that's all I'm saying. People are weird and I'm people. So, happy Friday and let's enjoy some more weird people in today's Daily Grind.
