is this a good time to bring up that loki: where mischief lies basically has the plot of loki being in a love triangle between a trickster enchantress that's toxic for him and wants to cause chaos and a human man in a strange society that's made him a better person and it shows him being genderfluid and bi and has all the themes the season 2 finale led up to including the angstiest ending that made me cry?
it has him saying this, canonically:
“do you have a preference between men or women”
“i'm perfectly comfortable as either”
it's basically the show, but like, if they made it as queer as it should have been.

Are we in 1868 or 1893, then, boys, I have to know for the historical accuracy of these building materials.
THANK YOU, MOBIUS! [He mentioned the Fire and I felt vindicated.]
Yes, how could you have forgotten?? MOBIUS I LOVE THAT YOU LOVE THE WORLD'S FAIR
CAN WE TALK ABOUT WHAT FUCKING HAPPENED TO THAT NEIGHBORHOOD THOUGH
I MEAN FLAMES BUT IT WAS EITHER NOT REBUILT OR LEVELED AGAIN FOR MIDWAY [side-eyes the parallels of the history of Central Park in NYC to Hell and back] [I don't know for a fact if that is accurate but I wouldn't be in the least surprised if it was.]

The writers: Okay so everyone betrays their lover in the end; Me: Okay one, are y'all okay? And two, y'all read Oscar Wilde's "The Ballad of Reading Gaol" and took it as gospel, huh? ["Yet each man kills the thing he loves/By each let this be heard,/Some do it with a bitter look,/Some with a flattering word,/The coward does it with a kiss,/The brave man with a sword!"]
MISS MINUTES ABSOLUTELY GO FUCK YOURSELF

you don't need to answer this if it's too much work but what's the "Story" of these selective HK songs? i can see the connection between autophagy and Bottom, but the others seem a lot more disconnected from the each other (i can see Eva loosely connected to Mobius at most, and i cannot see how Bocca Della Verita is connected at all).
Don’t worry, nothing is too much work for little ol’ me (I live for Hiiragi rambles, you can ask anytime)
There's a lot of unknowns with the series, and it's pretty much up for interpretation, but I'll do my best to give ya something! I know the most about Autophagy (Hyoga) cause it's my favorite song, and I probably know the least about Bocca Della Verità. Here we go! An almost incomprehensible graph:
Tumblr media
Some clarification:
Hyoga: the character from Autophagy/Bottom.
Sinfan: the big red demon with the big smile.
Pabometh: the grey demon with the ribcage.
Zaika: the character from Eva.
Rinen: the character from Möbius.
Misaki: the character from Bocca Della Verità.
Lila: the woman from Galleria.
Theo: the man from Galleria.
I apologize for how long this is.. I'm also sorry for how long it took to answer your ask. I hope something in this answers your question.
Autophagy/Bottom: I have another post somewhere that's mainly speculation with rune translations, but I'll give a basic rundown for these two here. Autophagy is about the character 'Hyoga/Hyouga' who summoned a demon named Sinfan/Shinfan when he was 12ish. His life from then on is full of demons around every corner taking over his life, constant nightmares that cause isolation (ex: the line "stay away from me"), etc etc. Hiiragi's description says "This song is the rumination of shame," implying Hyoga regrets and is ashamed of his decision to summon demons. It's also implied by WOOMA's tweets that until Bottom came out he couldn't remember his own name. Bottom is basically full of Hyoga and the demons belittling and being angry at each other, Pabometh (the gray demon supposedly summoned by Sinfan) even taking the shape of Hyoga's younger self in his nightmares to further drive home how ashamed he is of his past. It's unclear how long it goes on, but it obviously had been happening for a while. I'm unsure of Autophagy's ending, though it is for interpretation and I have a lot of theories. To me, it's either Hyoga finally giving into the demons (ex: the line "Oh, rise seeds of evil, waiting to burst open!") or Hyoga moving past it and trying to live his life. (A little more unlikely to me, but whatever.) I could keep going for hours about Hyoga'a story, but onto the next. ("Autophagy" is a medical term for "self eating" or the act of cells destroying damaged cells)
Eva/Galleria: Eva is about the character 'Zaika' while Galleria is about the character’s ‘Theo’ and ‘Lila’ who are most likely a married couple. I don’t know much about Eva, but I’ll do my best for this one too. Eva has an unassuming background of a Spider, later implied in Galleria (and also by WOOMA themself) to be a demon. Eva and Galleria have vague ties to religion, the stars in the background of Eva and floating around Lila in Galleria look like a religious symbol (I don’t remember which) and imagery of Lila praying. Lila makes a deal with a demon, whether it be the Spider Demon or Sinfan/Pabometh (I personally am leaning towards Sinfan, which leads into a theory I may indulge in later if you want) and seems to make a deal for happiness, as judging by their living condition and the lyrics (ex: “we have nothing left, that’s why we can’t be healthy and well,”) and seemingly gets lost in memories/reliving her happiest moments before her and her husband take a toll (each character gets on black eye) and her husband later shoots her (maybe because she made a deal with a demon, maybe because he was possessed, who knows)
Zaika comes in most likely after Galleria, as a character who appears to be insulted by her peers. She thinks of everything as “mediocre” and begins to be fed up with everything that’s happened to her. (I find an odd connection, though unlikely, in the line “like that, you’re going to forget everything,” and the fact Hyoga doesn’t remember his past until Bottom.) There’s text in the beginning of Eva that was translated by 9lore, but I don’t remember anything that it says besides something along the lines of “like that he runs away, but it doesn’t matter. I still have a banner of purity for myself.” I can’t confirm that, but there’s the line “you shake your head and run away in the end,” so y’know, wink wink hint hint. I'm not sure about the ending for Eva, just that she likely becomes angry enough to retaliate.
Möbius: Möbius is a song either made for Meychan, or a V Flower version of it. I believe it's still part of the series, though. I don't know much about Rinen's story either, but I'll once again do my best. Möbius is believed to be a story about a toxic relationship, or about Rinen watching the others stories unfold from afar. His background has a snake, and while as far as I know it's not confirmed to be a demon, WOOMA has a streak of it, so it's still a possibility. He lacks black ink coming from his eyes or mouth (though there is some on his fingers) and generally seems to oversee something and be blamed by an off screen entity. The tattoo across his chest reads "Be Still And Know That I Am God" according to the translation by 9lore. I'm not sure where he fits into the story, but I've seen theories where he's someone the other characters can talk to and seek advice in, and I find that pretty neat (: ("Möbius" refuses to a "Möbius strip" or a neverending cycle.)
Bocca Della Verità: once again I don't know much, but I'll do my best (: Misaki is the character in Bocca Della Verità. The song has (assumably) a bunny in the background, and once again as far as I know isn't a demon. The song takes the point of view of a character that hates someone and speaks only the truth. Misaki seems to have a temper, and want to either prove others wrong or break away from someone holding her back. She has black ink coming from one eye while the other is purple, the only character besides Lila and Theo to have two different colored eyes when it comes to the black ink thing. Misaki's background has an 'X' over where the bunny's mouth would be, while Misaki herself is particularly outspoken. Her story, to me personally, seems to be about her breaking away from someone holding her back ("without you I'd be a goddess," and "without you around I wouldn't be here," seems like a parent or something to me, and knowing WOOMA maybe even an actual demon) and goes on to, y'know, prove people wrong and that she was right all along. ("Bocca Della Verità" means "Mouth of Truth")
Overall, there's a lot of unknowns with the story, and I'm not quite sure how it all fits together if I'm honest, just that they all seem to have demons they need to overcome, sometimes literally. The story of the Hiiragi Kirai songs definitely includes a lot of interpretation from the viewer.
I can see Autophagy and Bocca Della Verità being connected due to a few things such as if Hyoga continues under the restraints of the demons, him and Misaki might have met each other because I'm like 80% sure Misaki has a demon too. Eva and Möbius I can definitely see being connected, mainly through subtext like the potential of Rinen being the one to talk to Zaika during her song, or the fact that the Rinen theory I mentioned could lead to Zaika seeking out Rinen for advice. Eva/Galleria and Autophagy/Bottom are at like 99% certainty of being connected because Lila came into contact with probably Sinfan (who's the demon haunting Hyoga) and got her happiness dream before being damned by Sinfan and turning into the spider demon. (a rant for another time) and Möbius and Autophagy must be connected somehow I guess because WOOMA ships the two characters jsnsbsj.
Thank you for the ask! I hope at least something in this was what you were looking for and I'm sorry if it wasn't. I'm also sorry for making you read all of this- Thank you for the ask! I hope at least something in this was what you were looking for and I'm sorry if it wasn't. I'm also sorry for making you read all of this-
I hope you have an amazing day!!

The Evil Within 2
So, I meant to write this a little while ago, but better late than never, am I right?
General Feelings and Impressions: I really love this game. It took the characters and formula from the first one and improved on them. Sebastian seems more real to me, the game itself is more tense and scary, and the antagonists and story is more compelling than the first. I actually want to replay it for more than just to get trophies and extra weapons, which is more than I can say now for the first game.
Rating: 8/10
More detailed thoughts under the cut~
1.) Story:
The story is a lot more engaging for me than the first one, even though the whole reason that Sebastian returns to STEM was overdone and had me rolling my eyes.  For most of the game, I didn’t even believe that Lily was even in Union/really alive, but I was pleasantly surprised when she proved to actually be real. Union was a delight to explore, the different buildings that you could explore and characters to interact with was a delightful change from the first game. The underlying story, with Myra and Kidman and Lily and the plan to destroy Mobius was just as interesting as Sebastian’s search for his daughter, and I like that everything was completely wrapped up at the end of the game...other than the stinger at the end. I was also overwhelmingly glad to see that Ruvik wasn’t in this game.
2.) Characters:
I found Sebastian was more real to me in this game than he was in the first one- he seemed more responsive to his surroundings than in the first game, especially when he took down the Sadist, Keeper, and Laura when fighting Theodore.
Kidman returning was a delight and made me happier than anything, and the minute I was able to play as her I had to pause to screech at my mother. Her DLC in the first game was one of my favourite bits of the first game, so I was excited to see her again.
Tatiana returning was also a delight because she was one of my favourite characters from the first game (proving that if you give me a nurse in red in a horror game, they will be my favourite), and nothing made me happier than finding out that I could talk to her and that she was in the shooting range to make biting comments when I failed terribley.
Stefano was an amazing villain, and I found him to be easilly creepier than Ruvik and Theodore and the Mobius Administrator all wrapped into one. I found him to be more effective as a antagonist and his boss fight was one of the harder fights in the game.
Theodore was...okay. I didn’t mind his character but I didn’t find him to be much of anything when it came to being a villain. All the good spooks went to Stefano, tbh. Myra killing him was the best part of him being a character.
Myra was amazing. I was scared at first that she was Ruvik when I first encountered her because she looks similar to him and was happy to see otherwise. She was a great antagonist and her boss fight was challenging but fun.
Lily, despite being the motivation, exceded my expectations because I was terrified that she would still look like she did when the fire happened, but when she was revieled at the end I was plesantly surprised to see that she didn’t look the same. I hope her and Seb move somewhere good and have a good life together
3.) Setting:
Union was amazing. The chaces to go into buildings and do side quests and explore was my favourite part of the game-- if there’s side quests in a game, I will ignore everything until I’m finished those. It was a lot bigger than Beacon and more interesting to explore. It was also more tense and terrifying than the last game, and I found myself worrying about who or what I was going to find around the corner and through the door.
4.) Complaints:
I didn’t find much in this game that I didn’t like, but there were a few things that stood out. I found that the deaths of Torres and Hoffman hurt the most, being basically pointless. Torres felt like an after thought of a death, and Hoffman’s seemed almost out of character considering how her character was the entire rest of the game. Whille I know they would have either died later in the game or been sucked back into STEM once Myra took over, I felt their deaths could have been done better.
I also think the game could have put Stefano as the mid-final boss instead of Theodore. Stefano could still have been looking for Lily for Theodore, but once Theo was killed he would be looing for her for his own means. Not to mention then he could have left more of his creepy ‘art’ around for Sebastian to deal with where as Theodore felt more like a mini-boss than a big bad.
