I am simultaneously deliriously in love with the ending of Loki season 2 and absolutely loathe it
On one hand…Shakespearean tragedy at its finest, essentially circling back to Loki’s original Thor 2011 character arc by reversing it, and Loki has literally ascended to godhood. In the end, Loki’s ultimate selfless sacrifice was to sit upon the highest throne in the multiverse, and that to me is tragically ironically beautiful
On the other hand…Loki being alone makes me want to burn Marvel studios to the ground and do other unspeakable things
Best and worst ending of all time f u Eric Martin

Loki sits upon the throne, determined, alone.
The Watcher: What are you doing?
Loki: Protecting the multiverse. I wove the strands.
The Watcher: Yes.
Loki:
The Watcher:
Loki: What?
The Watcher: Well, it looks like it's finished.
Loki: But I have to remain alone, guarding it.
The Watcher: Who said that?
Loki: I guess... I did?
The Watcher: Hm. How very Loki of you. Guard it from what? There's nothing out here. He Who Remains can't reach what you have created.
Loki: I don't know!
A pause.
Loki: Well, what do you suggest I do???
The Watcher: Anything you want.
Loki: Oh.
The throne sits empty, with a card that reads: Out To Lunch.

Something I have really loved this season with Sylvie is the appreciation of the ordinary. Living a normal life was her dream, and she soaks up every moment, like each are a precious gem. She has a job in a fast food place, and she loves it and takes pride in it. She’s got a coworker that she can chat with, a bartender who knows her name, a record seller who calls her a regular and recommends her music. And to her, all these little things, the fast food and drink and music and the people you connect with as you go about your day, they’re all special. Through the lens of this character, we can take those things that to us might seem mundane, that we might take for granted, and elevate them, and go “this, this is special actually”

LOKI SPOILERS!!!
SO ITS A TREE RIGHT???
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Norse Mythology, there is a tree called Yggdrasil. Now I’m not super familiar with it but it’s generally known as the Tree of Life that houses all the nine realms and every living soul, and is incredibly closely associated with Odin. THIS. IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.
I’m not very knowledgeable on this topic so feel free to add or correct me lmao-

He didn’t want a throne
He didn’t want to be alone
Really what’s gone and happened is Loki just got everything he would have wanted BACK IN 2012
BUT HE’S GROWN
AND HE DOESNT WANT THOSE THINGS ANYMORE
SO NOW IT IS A SACRIFICE THAT HE TOOK INSTEAD OF SOMETHING HE WOULD HAVE GAINED
UGHHHHHHH I AM SO NOT OK
Also Mobius is alone too
Istg
Fanfiction now
I must go

did loki just compare thor falling for jane with what he feels for mobius?
"and when he came back, he was different. changed somehow. I thought it was weakness. I mocked him. said he'd gone soft."
He just said these words while actively defending mobius after sylvie hurt him. He said those words while thinking about mobius and while standing in the pie room where they had one of their most intimate moments.
loki is different because of mobius. he's become weaker and soft because of mobius. the exact same thing that happened to his brother has now happened to him, and he's completely aware of it.

I've rarely (if ever) been so genuinely proud yet so melancholic about the growth of a fictional character. That being said, s2 e6 was probably one of my all-time favourite MCU production - Tom Hiddleston absolutely nailed all of it, as he always did, but here it ended up being breathtaking.
