I grew up in Oakland. I love Oakland, despite (read as: because of) all its weird-ass dysfunction.
And so I say to you, whichever Paramount exec that is in charge of merch:
I NEED U.S.S. OAKLAND MERCH
I need a hoodie that says NCC-75012 on it. Please, I've been a very good boy this year.

Drew Prachett is Rigelian and a security officer on the USS Oakland
he’s 34 years old and a Jelna from Rigel V
his parents are working as consultants for Starfleet (xenobiology & chemistry)
very versed in tactics and close combat, as well as Vulcan martial arts (thanks to Durga)
he has a serious personality and is kinda grumpy when he’s working. always has something to criticize, it’s a little bit annoying tbh
can’t handle alcohol very well (always gets a murderous hangover after partying)
has multiple pet beetles (Rigelian rhinoceros beetles)

I love this alternate version of the Cerritos crew.
And here's a list of all the California class ships from Memory Alpha:
USS Alhambra
USS Anaheim
USS Burbank
USS Carlsbad
USS Cerritos (NCC-75567)
USS Culver City
USS Eureka
USS Fresno
USS Inglewood
USS Merced (NCC-87075)
USS Mount Shasta
USS Oakland
USS Pacific Palisades
USS Redding
USS Riverside
USS Rubidoux (NCC-12109)
USS Sacramento
USS San Clemente
USS San Diego
USS San Jose
USS Santa Monica
USS Sherman Oaks
USS Solvang (NCC-12101)
USS Vacaville
USS Vallejo
USS West Covina
Given that we saw a Bolian crewed vessel, I'm disappointed there was no USS Los Gatos with an all Caitian crew.
P.S. It just occurred to me that you could have the USS Santa Cruz with a crew that resembles banana slugs for an obscure reference.

Pics:
1. Cover of F. Amadeo Giannini's main book on his Physical Continuum theory.
2. The back cover of a different edition - that pretty much explains every thing!
Haven't they heard of 'Spoiler Alerts'?!
1906: The Earth (is) Not Hollow.
Intro: Basically, Amadeo believed that Earth's Poles extend out into space - as continuous surfaces!!
These 'bridged' all of the known planets together & lead out across the universe - forever unending!!!
Quote: The Oakland Tribune said, "The Boston philosopher (Amadeo) & Captain G. Wilkins (will) test a theory that the world stretches beyond the Poles, when they take their projected flight over the South Pole."
History: In December of 1928, Wilkins took off from Deception Island & flew 600 miles over Antarctica.
Later, in 1929, Wilkins made the 1st aerial exploration of the South Pole's Graham Land - discovering that it's not attached to Antarctica!
Weird Bit: In 1959, a nuclear sub (the USS Skate) surfaced at the North Pole - to spread Wilkins's ashes over the ice.
This was not just a political snafu, as Wilkins had also explored the North Pole.
Yet, he never found any evidence of Amadeo's Physical Continuum.
Author Output:
1. "Worlds Beyond the Poles."
2. "Byrd's Discoveries Indicate Universal Solid Link."
Crimes: Amadeo turned out to be a small time thief. He was caught red- handed at least 8 times!
He was also thought to be guilty of several robberies at other apartments!
Like most criminals, he had excuses prepared - for whenever he was caught...
1st, he would identify himself as a Yale grad, lecturer (on astronomy, polar exploration or relativity), magazine article writer, researcher, author of various books, philosopher &/or scientist.
2nd, he would dress in long pajamas & claim to be sleep walking, too drunk to know what he was doing or just looking for a friend!!
3rd, he would claim to be registered in the hotel under an assumed name. It turned out that he had a long list of aliases.
He especially liked to pose as the nephew of A.P. Giannini, a famous West Coast banker!
4th, whenever his given address was checked - it would turn out to be an unoccupied building or an empty lot...
5th, when he had to, he would admit to have been arrested before or that he was an ex-convict.
History: Police records once revealed that he was actually a fugitive!!
Judges usually referred him to the psych wards. But, once, he spent a year in prison - out of a 2-to-15 year sentence!
He had claimed to be a philosophy professor, when the judge told him, "Well, you're going to have a lot of time to practice your profession!"
(You'd be correct to think that "Gia" was a real "ninny"!)
