George Russell has been put onto the reserve bench by Mercedes. Following his first season at one of the top teams at Formula One, the racing driver's contract has been terminated for unknown reasons. 

Many consider Mercedes' decision to be too harsh, claiming that the team has failed the young British driver in order to stay in favour with their golden driver, Lewis Hamilton. The two driver’s seemed to have some issues on and off track throughout the past season, but none of the two claimed to have any bad blood between them. 

The team has responded to the fans’ claims, hinting that the decision has been mutual and agreed upon by both parties.

However, this doesn’t seem to satisfy the fans’ burning questions as to why the team decided to alter Russell’s contract out of the blue. Wanting real answers, fans have resorted back to making up theories to justify the sticky situation. The most common one: Mercedes wanted to pave the way for Mercedes Junior Team member Valeria Ortiz.

The female racing driver has been climbing her way up the Formula ladder since 2019 when joining Formula Three. She’s been driving for Prema Racing in Formula Two since 2021 and is on a steady road to become the Formula Two champion this season. 

George Russell spoke up about his department from the grid by releasing a statement in the media pit post summer break.

Not directly addressing the rumours whether or not Valeria Ortiz would take his seat, many take his use of “they” as an indicator that a female racing driver entering Formula One isn’t as unimaginable as it used to be. 

Victor Ochoa, Valeria's manager, has released a press statement regarding the rumour to soothe the uproar of the public.

Her team isn’t entirely denying the allegations of her being a possibility for filling the seat in the 2023 season, and neither is Mercedes.

ABOUT CELIA:

Celia was born with a fairly powerful aptitude for magia. Unfortunately, she had a natural aptitude specifically for magia animada, a highly disfavored form of magia in Recuhilo due to being perceived as dangerous. Anxious by nature, and having her magia constantly regulated (as it is for all hechiceros animados) whether by teachers or police in her hometown of Huerto Viejo, all of whom consistently communicated to her that her magia was not to be trusted, Celia soon developed moral scrupulosity/harm OCD.

OCD is an anxiety disorder where the sufferer experiences intrusive thoughts provoke intense anxiety and therefore perform repetitive actions known as compulsive to try to limit or control the anxiety. These behaviors only worsen the disorder. Moral scrupulosity OCD refers an obsessive concern with morality. Harm OCD is the obsessive fear of hurting someone else.

Celia is terrified of accidentally hurting someone with her magia. Thus, despite her talent, she's found herself stalled in her dreams and pursuits. By age 25, she refuses to even use her magia.

Until an old friend from secondary school, José David, asks Celia to help him steal a magia amulet. Unable to convince not to do it, and terrified she'd *also* be guilty of whatever harm comes to him if she doesn't help, Celia is forced to use her magia. To steal. Which also sets off her moral scrupulosity OCD something awful.

La historia que ya conoces, como nunca la habías cantado… “La Usurpadora”

Esta es la historia de Valeria, una buena e ingenua mesera mexicana - americana que vive con su abuelita en Las Vegas, Nevada. Valeria trabaja día y noche para pagar el costoso tratamiento médico de su abuelita.

El poco tiempo libre que tiene lo dedica a pasar el rato viendo telenovelas y soñando con un mundo en que el bien siempre triunfa sobre el mal.

Un día tiene un encuentro con una mujer idéntica a ella. Ella es Victoria, físicamente igual, pero con una personalidad completamente opuesta a la suya, es malvada, rica, deshonesta y sin escrúpulos.

Victoria le dijo a su esposo Carlos Daniel que iba a rehabilitarse en Estados Unidos, pero en realidad ella está vacacionando en Las Vegas con su adinerado y guapo amante, Chad. Victoria no quiere regresar a México, así que chantajea y convence a Valeria para ir a México y hacerse pasar por ella. A cambio de esto, Victoria se encargará de las cuentas del tratamiento médico de la abuela de Valeria.

Valeria se ve obligada a aceptar el trato y se va a México a hacerse pasar por Victoria. La buena e inocente Valeria batallará al hacerse pasar por la fría y despiadada Victoria, al mismo tiempo que se verá en la difícil situación de mantener al negocio y a la familia de Carlos Daniel unida.

Estreno: 12 de abril de 2023 en Cines.

La película está dirigida por Santiago Limón y cuenta con las actuaciones de Isabella Castillo, Alan Estrada, Cecilia Toussaint, Alejandra Guzmán, Jesús Ochoa, Susana Zabaleta y Gabriela Spanic.

Students to Vote in Historic Election

Voter registration has ended, and Texas State students are making plans to vote with hopes their peers will do the same. 

In a year filled with a global pandemic, protests and build-up for the November election, some Texas State students are eager to get out and make their voices heard.

“I plan to vote at the Performing Arts Center, and I plan to do early voting because of the whole COVID thing; I don’t want to be around a crowded environment,” Texas State student Evan Riojas said. 

Voter registration ended Oct. 5, and early voting is slated to run Oct. 13-30. Texas State student Jordan McKay says he is willing to get out and vote even if it means putting aside other important responsibilities. 

“I plan to find my closest place on October 13th, and I’m going to early vote as soon as possible,” McKay said. “I might skip class; we’ll just see.”

There are college students who are voting in their very first general election. Some, like Texas State student Miriam Listiak from San Antonio, plan to travel back home to get it done. 

“I’m a young voter, so I’m going to go home and do that just because it’s way easier,” Listiak said. 

Listiak says it is good that young people are stepping out and speaking up about what they feel is right, but she says it won’t mean anything unless they are active at the polls. 

“I know this election is very polarized, so do your research,” Listiak said. “Research your senators, your congressman, all that because it really does matter in the long run.”

Texas State student Keegan Lorenz-Ochoa says years ago he did not see the purpose in voting. However, with growth and becoming more educated, his views have changed and now he’s determined to vote and vote early at the Performing Arts Center. Lorenz-Ochoa says he wants to avoid the long lines that many expect to see on Election Day Nov. 3. 

“There’s so many opinions that we have as young people that we have to get out there and have our voices heard in the government,” Lorenz-Ochoa said.

Some Texas State students have lived in this country for years and not gained citizenship, which means they won’t be able to cast their ballot. Texas State student Valeria Hernandez-Cardona is an immigrant student from Mexico. She says she hopes other students get out and vote.

“My future, more immigrants’ futures, is being affected, and they can’t even make a choice on it,” Hernandez-Cardona said.

La nueva serie de Netflix que recién se estrenó y promete superar a Café con aroma de mujer

El gigante de streaming acaba de lanzar una producción colombiana que se perfila para ser un éxito aún mayor que la telenovela que recientemente fue furor.

Café con aroma de mujer fue trascendental para las producciones de ficción de Netflix, marcando un antes y un después en las telenovelas colombianas. Recientemente supo atrapar al público y consagrarse como una de las más vista, pero ahora podría perder ese lugar.

La flamante producción que quiere dejar en el olvido a Café con aroma de mujer es Pálpito, una serie colombiana cuya trama aborda un tema tan oscuro como lo es el tráfico de órganos. La historia sigue la vida de Simón Duque, un hombre al que su vida le cambia de repente cuando a raíz de un accidente de tránsito secuestran a su esposa y la asesinan para sacarle el corazón.

Creada y escrita por Leonardo Padrón y dirigida por Camilo Vega, la serie cuenta con la producción ejecutiva de Clara María Ochoa y Ana Piñeres. Su estreno oficial en Netflix fue este 20 de abril y rápidamente empezó a ser de lo más elegido por los usuarios ya que cuenta con apenas 10 capítulos. Tal es así que ya se ubica como la segunda más vista en Argentina.

Ciudad Juárez, Chih.-22 de julio.-El estudiante de ingeniería industrial de la Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, Reyes Daniel Reyes Morales, se adjudicó el lugar de honor dentro de la prueba de 10 kilómetros en la carrera conmemorativa del 70 aniversario del Centro Médico de Especialidades  con un tiempo de 32:25 minutos.

Cabe recordar que Reyes Daniel Reyes Morales, acaba de regresar de Nápoles, Italia, donde participó representando a México, en la recién culminada Universiada Mundial "Nápoles 2019", y una vez más demostró su calidad de campeón defensor dentro del Circuito Atlético Pedestre,  del cual formó parte esta competencia,  en su sexta etapa.

En segundo  lugar cruzó la meta, Héctor César Martínez, quien detuvo el cronómetro en 33:49 minutos,  mientras que el tercer escalón fue para Juan Mauro Ramos Mejía con 34:03.

Dentro de la rama femenil el lugar de privilegio le correspondió a Verónica Palma Cruz con un tiempo de 40:44, seguida por Blanca Úrsula Ortega y Arlette Magaly Márquez, quienes se ubicaron en segundo y tercer lugar,  con tiempos de 41:17 y 41:55 minutos cada una, respectivamente.

En la categoría de  Silla de Ruedas, una vez más Lorenzo Antonio Valles mostró su jerarquía dentro de la rama varonil, mientras que en la rama femenil la triunfadora fue Kenia Marlene Contreras.

El punto de partida y meta estuvo ubicado frente al Centro Médico de Especialidades por la avenida de las Américas, y se otorgaron atractivos premios  a los ganadores de los tres primeros lugares de las diferentes categorías.
