mkay I know I’ve already said this in my most recent reblog but I love the jjk narrator. so much. and the fact that she voiced kushana makes me even happier and love the narrator so much more.
there was a YT video that showed all the other characters that she’s voiced and god. I must have a thing for women that have that deeper, authoritative and slightly cocky//confident female voice because DAYUJMMM it does things to me fr. the power she projects with her voice through these characters (who are usually antagonists) is just so attractive.

The Japanese VA of Alucard (Jouji Nakata) and Integra (Yoshiko Sakakibara) just met on the set of JJK and they greeted with the line of Alucard and Integra greeting at the ending of Hellsing:
"Welcome back"
"I'm home"

Hi Jona! This is something I'm recently curious abt with people's OC's (<--is a seiyuu fan)😆 I wonder what Celeste's voice is like? Or if you have a voice actor in mind for her voice claim?
Okay! Okay, so I’m kinda between a few lol. But the gist is that she, post-curse, speaks very maturely with a dash of seductiveness.
Japanese VA: Yoshiko Sakakibara specifically her voice for Sir Intrega from Hellsing. Or!! Maaya Sakamoto specifically her as Merlin from Seven Deadly Sins. (Thank you to my boyfriend for helping me pick these two out!!)
English VA: Laura Bailey, somewhere between her performances as Lust from Full Metal Alchemist and Tier Harribel from Bleach!
Pre Curse though! While her voice sounds the same, her mannerisms are different. If I had to give her a different performance from the voice actresses above I’d go for:
Japanese Va: Maaya Sakamoto as Eto Yoshimura from Tokyo Ghoul
English Va: Laura Bailey as Rise Kujikawa
Pre Arcobaleno Curse, she spoke far more energetically and while I wouldn’t say fully care free, she definitely held less worry to her voice.

people are bitching about the fact the season 2 narrator for JJK is a woman and not the hxh narrator / a man in general
yoshiko sakakibara has such a good voice for narrating, and it’s going to fucking hurt when that scene plays out

The Choso/Yūji bathroom fight was so cool! And I was wondering how they were going to animate the flashback/memory sequence. I liked the VHS-style, which I think they used for Toji’s too!
And Yoshiko Sakakibara is killing it as the narrator!

I made a post about Cutthroat and Makishima Shougo having the same voice a while back (before Akudama Drive’s first episode even came out) and while I’m still loving the Psycho-Pass parallels, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Takahiro Sakurai’s performance. I already love him of course, but when I heard him in one of the last trailers before Akudama Drive aired, it really sounded to me as if he was going to use the exact same voice he used for Shougo and Rohan Kishibe... And yet, I didn’t hear it at all when I actually watched AD. His performance for Cutthroat was completely different and suited the character perfectly. His voice was recognizable of course, but it still messes me up to this day that he gave Shougo and Kishibe the exact same voice-- and Cutthroat’s wasn’t that.
Yoshiko Sakakibara’s voice for Boss was actually a lot more similar to that of Joushuu Kasei than Cutthroat’s was to Shougo’s. Still, she came off very differently due to her and Kasei’s different personalities, and Sakakibara did a great job with her as well.

“Every one of us relies on water from the wells, because mankind has polluted all the lakes and rivers, but do you know why the well water is pure? It's because the trees of the wastelands purify it! And you plan to burn the trees down? You must not burn down the toxic jungle! You should have left the giant warrior beneath the earth! Asbel, tell them how the jungle evolved and how the insects are guarding it so we won't pollute the earth again. Asbel please!”
- Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984, Hayao Miyazaki, Japan)

I keep hearing Yoshiko Sakakibara’s (Shinobu from Patlabor) voice in stuff I’m watching , which is great because double-checking her Wikipedia page is a great excuse to see her way-too-cool bio image

A thousand years from now, the Earth as we know it has been destroyed by the Seven Days of Fire, and the planet is covered by a Sea of Decay. Nausicaä, Princess of the Valley of the Wind, lives in harmony with the natural environment and the dangerous insects that live there. Fearful nations seek to harness the power of the ancient Giant Warriors to conquer the Valley of the Wind and destroy the Sea of Decay.
As of this writing, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984) is my favorite Hayao Miyazaki film. The world feels dynamic and real in the same way as Frank Herbert’s Dune. The animation is gorgeous as well as the score and audio design. The best part of the film, however, is the character of Nausicaä herself. She’s someone who believes that life and nature are precious, and she recognizes that violence is preceded by fear. She doesn’t compromise her ideals, but struggles and sacrifices to save her fragile kingdom by the sea.
This film is so beautiful and the action sequences are so exciting. The script is perfectly paced. It’s the kind of film you just want to live in. I really want a pet fox-squirrel and ceramic sword that makes that sound when I use it.
