I need help.
As you guys know, I am and live in Venezuela. My family is colombian, which means most of my relatives still live there. Seeing them means travelling and right I need to do it. My grandma on my dad’s side suffers from dementia and this could be my last time to see her before she stops recognizing me altogether. As it is, she already struggles with names and mostly just remembers my dad’s and his sibling’s names.
My dad is planning on traveling to see my grandma at the end of this month, and I have been putting off doing this because I’ve trying to do some work on the side, but nothing has panned out so far.
I hate having to do this, but I have no other option if I really wanna see my grandma. There are other expenses I am having to cover right now, like some doctor’s appointment and stuff like that, but my main objective is to visit my grandma when my dad goes see her.
So, if you guys are in the position of helping me by donating, I would appreciate it and be grateful for it. Anything you can spare wil be valued.

Paxful and AirTM Partner to Increase Bitcoin Adoption in America
Paxful, the peer-to-peer Bitcoin marketplace, is partnering with AirTM, the peer-to-peer exchange platform and e-wallet ( “daily digital purse”), to spearhead and promote Bitcoin mass adoption in Latin America.
With this strategic partnership, users will be able to buy and sell bitcoin from their Paxful accounts using AirTM as a payment method (similar to PayPal) with access to a variety of payment platforms including BitMart.
The goal is to introduce bitcoin to 300,000 new customers and open up a market of $6 million in monthly transaction volumes.
In an announcement today, June 6, 2019, Paxful CEO Ray Youssef said that Bitcoin adoption in Latin America and especially Venezuela has “skyrocketed” in the past few months as some citizens see the opportunity to move their money into a system without government interference and without the threat of massive inflation.
Latin America Is in Financial Turmoil
Of all Latin American countries, Venezuela is the country with the most serious economic and monetary problems and is an important target for Paxful and AirTM’s partnership.
Youssef told Bitcoin Magazine that Venezuela is also the Latin American country with the highest levels of new crypto adoption.
In May, Paxful experienced an increase in Latin American trading volume of around 20 percent.
“Venezuela’s inflation rate is projected to reach 10 million percent or more in 2019 and more Venezuelans are looking into crypto as an alternative currency … The growth is slow but steady,” added Youssef.
AirTM Already a Significant Presence in Latin America
AirTM is an e-wallet connected to over 300 bank and e-money systems via a peer-to-peer network and direct bank connections. Users hold their money as dollars or cryptocurrency and can send and receive funds domestically and internationally. ᐧ
AirTM CEO Ruben Galindo told Bitcoin Magazine that they have a shared vision with Paxful, including the belief in the power of peer-to-peer finance to foster financial inclusion for the large numbers of unbanked in countries like Venezuela and Mexico.
AirTM is already headquartered in Mexico; its website recommends “shielding” Mexican pesos in an AirTM account.
Commenting on the criticisms that bitcoin may not be user friendly enough to make mass adoption realistic, Galindo said:
“Bitcoin may have its challenges from a user experience perspective, though for those who are underserved or completely shut out from the traditional financial system, it is a much more feasible alternative than what is currently available to them.”
He added that earlier this year, as part of the Airdrop Venezuela campaign, the AirTM team went to the city of Cucuta in Colombia, on the Venezuelan border, to raise donations and assist Venezuelan refugees.
“Through our Airdrop Venezuela campaign, we aim to educate users even further on the benefits and nuances of using cryptocurrencies,” he said.
Bitcoin-Only for Paxful
Asked about the possible confusion for new users among the three Bitcoins, Youssef said, “For people who are new to cryptocurrency, it may be confusing. This is why at Paxful we keep things simple, focusing solely on Bitcoin. Both our wallet and marketplace use bitcoin as the universal clearing layer for all forms of payment.”
“There are many synergies between AirTM and Paxful, and we are excited to partner with them to offer more possibilities to our users and expand globally,” noted Galindo. “Both AirTM and Paxful believe in the future of peer-to-peer finance.”
“As we continue our work in emerging markets … we hope to see economic stability for the underrepresented takes flight in Latin America, and want to be the ones paving the way for those freedoms,” added Youssef.

Fundraiser Wants To Collect $1 Million In Virtual Currencies For Venezuelans In Need
A cryptocurrency fundraiser launched a new project to help Venezuelans that need it. Individuals from all over the world can donate funds using different virtual currencies. Venezuela is experiencing a hard crisis that has worsened during the last few years. The company Airtm is in charge of the initiative.
The main intention is to gather $1 million in virtual currencies to 100k Venezuelans that will be authenticated with their ID cards. The main cryptos accepted are Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Zcash (ZEC), Dash, Ethereum (ETH), XRP and many others. Once the funds are gathered, they will be converted to US dollars and used to purchase food or other items.
61% of Venezuelans have had trouble putting food on the table in 2017. The situation has continued to worsen this year, and is expected to deteriorate throughout 2019. Help us spread the word, and share the message. #AirdropVenezuela
— Airtm Inc (@AirtmInc) December 10, 2018
The campaign was able to raise $50,000 from people all around the world. Just by sending $10 dollars in virtual currencies it would be possible for a Venezuelan family to have access to basic goods and services such as food or medicines.
Roger Ver, Bitcoin.com CEO, decided to support this initiative saying that he would match all BCH donations made in 24 hours.
About it, he commented:
“The bigger the network effect a currency has, the more useful that currency becomes. This is a great way to grow the network for Bitcoin Cash and help people in need at the same time.”
Venezuelans have been embracing virtual currencies in order to survive and face an economic crisis without comparison around the world. The local fiat currency, the sovereign Bolivar, has replaced the strong Bolivar a few months ago. However, this new fiat currency has already lost its value.
This is not the first time that there are campaigns in favor of Venezuelan citizens. In the past, a Twitter user known as Crypto For Venezuela shared a video in which Venezuelan citizens received donations in Bitcoin. The funds gathered were used to deliver school supplies and clothing.
A couple weeks ago I shared a video where bought a ton school supplies and clothing to be donated to kids!

Fundraiser Aims to Raise $1M in Cryptocurrencies for Venezuelans
A cryptocurrency “airdrop” fundraiser has been launched to help Venezuelans. People are donating funds via a number of different coins to the citizens of the crisis-stricken South American nation — many of whom are refugees.
Also read: Venezuelans Remain Skeptical After President Maduro Raises Petro’s Value
Donate Coins to People in Need
Launched by Airtm, a digital wallet connected to banks and blockchains, the fundraiser plans to send $1 million in digital currency to 100,000 ID-authenticated Venezuelans. Donations can be made in bitcoin, bitcoin cash, zcash, dash, ethereum, litecoin, ripple, and others. They can be quickly used or converted to dollars by Venezuelans.
So far, Airdrop Venezuela has proven to be popular. Launched on Nov. 27, close to $50,000 has been raised at the time of this writing. Ten dollars worth of donations can help a family purchase food, medicine, and scarce imported goods. Suffering from the world’s highest inflation, the country’s currency, the bolivar, has been rendered virtually worthless. Digital money is proving to be useful to many Venezuelans who are eager to get rid of bolivars.
Venezuelans have actually been selling wads of cash or even using it to make items they can sell, such as bags or handicrafts, to make money. Airtm has been helpful to Venezuelans looking to efficiently convert their bolivars into U.S. dollars. Its service allows users to quickly convert whatever currency they are holding into cash via banks, gift cards, Western Union or cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin.com CEO to Match BCH Donations for the Next 24 Hours
A hot topic on Twitter, the charity’s effort is quickly gaining traction by helping spread the word about the dire help Venezuelans need. Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Ver stated on Monday that he would match all BCH donations made in the next 24 hours. He said:
The bigger the network effect a currency has, the more useful that currency becomes. This is a great way to grow the network for Bitcoin Cash and help people in need at the same time.
Crisis-stricken Venezuela is seeing tens of thousands of its citizens flee the country each day due to food and medicine shortages. Most go to neighboring Colombia but many others go to Peru, Brazil, the U.S., and some as far as Europe. The country’s government earlier this year launched an oil-backed digital currency, the petro, to help the economy.
Just last week, President Nicolas Maduro ordered the price of the petro to double. The digital currency has been widely criticized by citizens of Venezuela and experts alike who see it as a scam or worthless currency. Despite Maduro saying it is the solution to the country’s problems, the wallet for the petro is still unavailable to the public and there have been no reports of anyone using it.
