I have so many thoughts about why this arc is SO GOOD #But the short version is like #It is an arc about Fjord and identity and power and self and agency as he faces the truth of his patron and faces a rival warlock #But it is ALSO about Fjord grappling with those things bc he is ALSO processing grief and sadness and a search for direction and purpose #and grappling with disappointing disillusionment in how the world and people in your life (including maybe yourself) isn't what you thought #and about coming to resolve he has the agency and strength to not allow these things to deter him from purpose and place in the world. #And—this is why this is a PHENOMENAL arc—so is the rest of the Nein. Individually and as a group. #All of them are grappling with feelings of grief and sadness and disappointment and directionless and helplessness #just the grand malaise and relentless shapelessness of what living often is #They also as individuals and as a group together also find that resolve and strength to carry on and find self and purpose and direction #They all begin to process the very same things in their own lives and in their shared experience as The Nein. What terrible circumstances to obtain godhood

i finally got around to centaurworld's finale and holy fucking shit??? they can go that hard??

#god i cannot put into words just how fantastic that finale was #it just makes me so... disappointed that the rest of s2 was so boring #like i had to rewatch s1 when it came out before i could actually appreciate it because its so far from my kind of thing #BUT THE FINALE FELT LIKE IT WAS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SHOW? And it was RLLY GOOD #that last episode practically carried this season holy fuck. #the nowhere king is such an amazing villain and i am just so confused . #i wishhh s2 focused more on picturing the past for us and answering s1 questions and maybe even developing characters like the princess #(where did she even go actually i didnt see her in that last scene) #because i still have questions about some things but they come from a place of pure interest in the world only because of this last episode #girl i dont know how to word this at all. i feel like we couldve had something great #anyway s1 is fun as an introduction to the show s2 is boring because i expected more answers about the past and im not #as interested in the centaurs anymore but i liked the main casts backstories i guess and the finale was pretty amazing all around #this show just keeps bouncing around for me lol. also it feels like the cast had so much fun with it. i wouldve too! love that

Viserys wanted, "needed", a son as his heir so there would be no question of succession. Sooo why was aegon 2 not immediately named his new heir? And if it's a matter of waiting a year or something to make sure he lives then fine, on his birthday? The king can change who his heir is as many times as he needs I presume, it's sort of his right as the top dude. Don't tell me he thought everyone was just cool with rhaenyra as future queen when nobody was cool with rhaenys, including the old king himself

I imagine he likely would have married his daughter to his son were they closer in age to eliminate that problem, but if he did that rhaenyra would have been almost too old to *start* having kids so with that NOT being an option doesn't she immediately take the same cast off position that eldest daughters and second sons do? Am I missing something lol
