anyways! that's pretty much what it is when it comes to college and frankly? i just wanna get it over with like literally the only highlight to it is seeing my friends and spending time with my boyfriend 😭 but!! a social science major sounds cool! i'd say you have some pretty good goals set in mind and you can always take up a minor if you want to pursue the others :> (i did consider having music as a minor) and sure! the courses depend on what you pick really and the college/professor, online is just about the same as in-person if you have a lot of reading on a pc to do tbh. english classes are well. kind of like the ones in high school but college-leveled. just make sure you give yourself enough time to do assignments bc they can be painful :"D

I know it says high school au, but think of this as part of the college au nodnod! Have a few short drabbles about the boys and how they pine after you hehe

Albedo OTL I love him sm smmmm I actually have a jean jacket that color that's big on me so seeing him in a jean jacket,,,ehe just casual wear in general- espec. because I usually doodle him wearing sweaters and stuff so a tshirt and jean jacket...so big brain

You sit a few seats away from him in Chemistry and it's clear to you and your classmates that Albedo is something of a genius.

He's always interacting in class, raising his hand, asking questions with a slight tilt to his head, scribbling notes in his notebook. Little do you know, the scribbles are mostly sketches of things that've caught his attention throughout the day. One such being a side-profile of you. It's pretty obvious that you stare at him. Of course it's natural for you to occupy a little bit of his thoughts.

Why do you stare, for one?

There's a slight smile on your lips, and he now wonders just what it is that makes you smile and...maybe he can find a way to inspire one as well.

He blinks, out of his reverie, and looks back at the board to see the new topic, returning to his notetaking while the thought of you lingers in the background. It's silly, yes, to think of such things, but he can't help but be intrigued by you. Tapping his pencil against the line pages, he remembers that the cafe close by started advertising a few new desserts.

Surely, it'd be worth the chance to get to know you better.

Kazuha and Scaramouche?? They're fantastic too aaaaa and I love the little labels besides them ahaha makes me think of that one Anti-Romantic, which I think fits them both well (Scaramouche due to his backstory, Kazuha due to his desire to find out more about visions before anything else) so yeah!

These two are unlikely friends, not just with their personalities, but also with the fact that Scaramouche doesn't give anyone a second glance while Kazuha steals hearts left and right.

Though, one thing is certain. They share similar interests.

You.

By some coincidence, you've managed to catch their eyes. Whether it's the way you handled some situation with ease--quick and decisive--the sound of your laugh, the way that your hand curls around a drink-warmed paper cup, whatever it was was enough.

You have singlehandedly managed to chip away at the iciness surrounding Scara, his eyes automatically scanning his surroundings the moment he steps out of class in hopes that you might be passing by.

But even with his feelings, he has trouble with expressing them. Some afternoon, he approaches you, throat bobbing and eyes flicking to you and back to the tree just over your shoulder. Was...was it always so hard to just say how you feel??

Kazuha on the other hand has seen you pass by his usual spot settled beneath a tree. There have been times where he muses out loud to himself, noticing the way that you seem to stop and listen once in a while, and it's something that he's come to appreciate.

After all, one thing he values is the ability to just stop and take a moment to appreciate all that is around you. These little moments are ones that he looks forward to dearly. Next time, he'll invite you to sit with him.

Now...the difficulty lies in their realization of each other's feelings for you. Luckily (though, perhaps not so luckily), neither are willing to lay down their metaphorical weapons, and intend to make their feelings known to you.

And Xiao!! The gentle sweetie who looks like a bad boy- ahhh yesyesyes please.

Xiao would be the quiet kid in class that people end up assuming is a troublemaker because he seldom talks or answers questions but after school he stops by a certain alleyway to check on this little stray cat.

It's incredibly antsy and shy, hissing and scratching whenever he comes close (you notice that he has scratches along his knuckles and fingers, everyone assumes he gets in fights despite the lack of bruises), but he's there without fail with some food and water.

One day when you're tagging along with him after classes (you're project partners, after all), he stops and you can't help but stare wide-eyed at the kitten. Though you can't come too close, he gazes at it, expression soft, telling you how once it warms up to him he plans on adopting it.

By the time that the month has passed, you've become somewhat good friends--you learn that he plays guitar, that helps at one of the local shops often because the owner is a kind old woman, Xiao often insisting to do the work so she can rest. He's kind, selfless.

When the little cat ends up warming up to you too, he offers for you to visit so they don't have to miss you. You don't miss the slight tinge of red on his cheeks and ears.

☾   Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Albedo shows his love through acts of service. Of course, when he first meets you he can’t immediately assume his role as your sole caretaker, so things start out small. 

You notice that he questions you quite frequently. How are you sleeping? Have you eaten? Is there anything I can help you with? Depending on your answer, Albedo will give you advice. And when you don’t take such advice, it leads him to more direct approaches.

He makes lunch for you, walks you home, just little things that help you get by a bit easier. It’s only a matter of time before he feels what he does just isn’t enough. The distance between the two of you is too great for him to get anything substantial done for you. One way or another, he’ll bring you home - his home.

From there, Albedo oversees everything. He’s the first person you lay eyes on in the morning, gently waking you up for the day, and the last thing you see as he reads to you until you fall asleep. He helps you bathe, get dressed, cooks all of your food and directs you toward a simple activity like reading to pass the time. Albedo doesn’t expect you to do anything except let him take care of you. You’re his responsibility, not the other way around. He might have problems speaking the words “I love you,” but with his diligence and gentle nurturing, he doesn’t need to.

☾   Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

Whatever it is you refuse to comply with that concerns basic health, Albedo will not hesitate to force on you. 

For example, hunger strikes are entirely useless. The moment he realizes you’re not eating as a form of defiance, he sets out an ultimatum. Either you start eating the meals he prepares for you, or he’ll make you. He doesn’t say how he’ll make you, but you soon find out after rejecting him. It’s not hard for him to slip something in to the little water you do drink, letting the drug do it’s work until you’re nice and compliant for him. Unable to do so much as lift a finger, he patiently spoon feeds you, keeping you in a drugged state until he believes you’ve learnt your lesson, and won’t pull anything like that again. 

Albedo also isn’t against certain...experiments. He may take advantage of your drugged state, or simply proceed in normal circumstances, and familiarize himself with you a little more. Of course, he does everything because he cares about you - it’s what he tells himself. It’s not healthy to stay so pent up, making sure you don’t is just his job. He learns more about you, your limits and weaknesses, while doing something to ensure your ‘good health’ at the same time. It’s all just for your health, no other reason. He wouldn’t be so selfish, putting his own desires first, despite how intriguing you are when you’re most vulnerable.

No...he’s not that type of person.

☾   Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

You can’t get through to Albedo no matter what you say or do. No matter how much you yell at him, he’ll just stand there with an impassive stare before disregarding your concerns.

Albedo rarely has bad days, but they happen, and you just had to pick a fight with him on such a day when his nerves were a little less controlled than normal. He doesn’t raise his voice, doesn’t use force shut you up as you ramble for the nth time on how he’s deluded, insane. But still, some form of restraint snaps, and his words start to bite.

He’s keenly aware on every last one of your insecurities, the things you could never achieve, things you hate about yourself. Stuff that, if not for him, would have eventually torn you apart. Albedo reminds you that “you’re really not as capable as you think you are.”

Once he’s thoroughly beaten you down with his words, Albedo also takes a moment to let you reevaluate your behaviour, because “anyone else might not be so kind after how you’ve acted.”

He leaves you then, muttering something alone the lines of “being too lenient” with you. Maybe you would fight back like normal, get the last word, but his lecture turned you in a mess of tears and lost hope a long time ago.

☾   Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

His first reaction is that such an ordeal is to be expected...but it still isn’t the desired outcome. He knows you feel betrayed, lied to and impossibly trapped. You’re grasping at straws, doing whatever is in your power to regain independence. Unfortunately, all you can do is plead to him, throw fits of frustration, or go on silent streaks. 

Albedo observes your reactions with pained sympathy, and does his best to console you. After that, he works on figuring out a way to help ease you into your new life to prevent further trouble.

All in all, acting in such a way won’t sway him to give you back your freedom. At the most, he gives you some time alone. And, if things get really bad, he’ll make sure to leave you a warm cup of tea before letting you have that time to yourself, checking back not too long after to find you calmed and on the precipice of a peaceful sleep.

zhongven (what's better than months of slowburn buildup? hundreds of years of slowburn buildup, of course! they are the oldest archons, so i like to think that they know and understand each other well regardless of romantic involvement. i especially enjoy lore-heavy fanfics and headcanons about them. there's an abundance of things to explore and ways to interpret them. bonus points if xiao involuntarily gets adopted)
