most mountain goats songs are time loops. some of them are brief stolen moments of singularity (like san bernadino and snow owl, quiet irreplaceable wonder), but mostly they're time loops and the characters are stuck. sometimes they know they're in a time loop, sometimes they suspect they're in a time loop, sometimes they're actively trying to get out, sometimes they've made peace with the loop, and sometimes they have no idea they're in a time loop and they never will. I'm being so serious btw

Hey! I finished up another little resource I've been slowly putting together.
I've put together a turnaround reference of every character in the game, with every alternate appearance, both full bodies and profile views.
The full body views include a hatless young Graham for scale. There is a bit of an issue regarding characters with armor- I'm not very savvy with blender admittedly, and all of the metal comes out really dark. It isn't too bad, save for Manny, who doesn't even have his green feather. I'd like to fix those once I can. Also, capes are omitted. I think that only applies to Graham and Whisper though.
I'll be finishing up doing the same for the animals at some point, and I'm planning on making a few references for certain character's weapons, or other interesting items.
Also- along with the profile views, I included some of Graham's head at every angle by 10 degrees, from head on, lower, and upper angles. Thought it would be helpful to see how his hat works from any direction. The images are huge, here's a gif of them all together.
Hope these will come of use! I've been working on it for a while.

Line for you to find:
“It’s yet another reason I didn’t want to involve my family. I’ve never done anything I didn’t believe in—but that doesn’t mean I haven’t crossed hard lines.”
I have to concede this one to you, Mr. Pyren. I knew I recognized it, but I couldn't place it even after over half and hour of brainstorming. Because I got it in my head that it was an Alden quote, but when I couldn't find it I went to the internet to double check, and unfortunately it showed me the page number, so I ruined the test </3
alas! it is so obvious now that I've gotten past the Alden thing! but I think it's no surprise I missed the lodestar quote, that book mysteriously vanishes from so many memories

I started listening to a podcast called Citations Needed a bit ago and I'm listening to episodes on nativism and the US border and the way migrants looking for asylum or just your average immigrant is described is fucking heinous. People should not be referred to as hordes, everyone who can comprehend the meaning of words should know why alarmist language like that used to describe already vulnerable groups is Bad (unless they're brown or black I guess 🙄)
But the thing I don't get is the "immigrants are stealing our jobs!" thing and I don't get it because every year regardless of immigration thousands of people become legal age to work and for some reason we DONT see a bunch of hand wringing about teenagers entering the workforce and stealing jobs. I wonder why that is 🧐🧐🧐

yall just have to remember that even if billy is considered dead canon-wise, is he really? fandom plays a huge part in adopting abused characters in storylines, where fans take ownership and let them continue to live on in ways they never could due to faulty storylines. it may not sound like much of a consolation, but i feel on the brighter side of things, at least the dbags do not have a chance to ruin billy more. at the very least, they’ve given just enough for everyone to come up with incredible storylines. the same as we’ve been doing for the past five years since billy was introduced. i’d rather this than have them throw him away anymore than they’ve already done.

@snowalwayslandsontop ♥d the starter call and promised to be gentle which means kat be like (ง'̀-'́)ง once again.
‘He doesn't know they’ve done to twelve. If he could’ve seen what was on the ground—’
Sitting in the hovercraft she repeated her speech like a mantra, not believing her own luck. Or the other’s stupidity. So far her plan had worked. They believed her when she said they had to find a way to show Peeta how they turned his district to ashes. They were excited, even, about filming another propo, about getting her on board with the rebel propaganda.
They believed her lie.
“I’m going to my home to get some stuff for my mother”, she said after her filming was done, the sentence coming out a little stiff for her liking because after all, she had never been a good actress. Cressida was luckily focused on Gale’s next shot, so she just smiled at her and Katniss made her way to the Victor Village, where the most important part of her plan had to take place. Soon she found her house and rushed inside, anxious steps taking her upstairs to her room. The white flower was still there. Unnatural and beautiful.
Katniss did what she had planned from the moment her mind wrapped around her situation and she repeated her speech word by word, exactly as she had practiced countless times inside her head.
“I know you’re monitoring this place. I know you can see and hear me, President Snow. I need to speak to you.”
She repeated this sentence five times, like she had planned. It was a random number, but logically it should be enough time for someone to reach him and also to keep her rebel crew from suspecting she was doing anything else but grabbing stuff for the medical wing.
The next part of her speech wasn’t planned. She had the basic idea, but the words flowed like a river before she could control them.
“You don’t want Peeta. You never thought he had anything to do with this. You want me. I’m the one that pulled the berries. I’m the one that shot an arrow at your force field. I’m the one that the districts follow. I’m the spark you want to quench with your first, I’m the songbird you want to drown in your poison. It’s me they are waiting to see crumble, not him. I’m the one that you need. The one that you want. The mockingjay you can’t silence.”
With a deep breath, she spoke her next words almost in a whisper.
“And you can have it all. You can have me”, a pause, “Let Peeta go without harm and you can take me. Release Peeta, president Snow, and I’m yours”
All that was left was waiting. And she hated it.

Theres a cat called Silverhawk who trained Thistle, maybe he could give Tigerstar a life? IIRC Silverhawk died attacking a riverclan patrol so maybe his could be something along the lines of never backing down?
Also i think spottedleaf would make her. too involved yknow? Shes already sneaking out to help firestar and is (i think) a major part of the plot, while i DO like the whole curse thing it also makes scourge killing Tigerstar feel cheaper (rule of cool, tigerstar losing all 9 lives was cool as fuck because it meant the stakes were higher and firestar wasnt 9 lives safe anymore. It ruins the moment a bit by saying "yeah scourge just killed him normally it was the space cats who took his 9 lives").
Honestly my two cents i think badgerfang's in canon life was super dope. Tigerstar basically brushing off Badgerfang bc of how young he is and ignoring Badgerfang's blatant warning of "dont underestimate ur enemy", effectively dooming himself. Maybe not Badgerfang who gives the life, but i do think it could fit that someone, a half clan cat maybe? tries to give him a life but its brushed off completely bc Tigerstar refuses to believe that a half clan cat has anything of worth to say.
Silverhawk actually got backstory in TBC-- he tried to kill his leader because his son was deputy, and got them both killed in the process! He doesn't have a confirmed Clan yet, but I keep imagining it was RiverClan tbh.
The one who died on the RiverClan patrol was Thistleclaw himself. In my rewrite, that patrol is now the same one where Sunfish was murdered; Leopardfur killed Thistleclaw in revenge.
Anyway, I was a little worried about using Spotty too much. She's popular and I love writing for her so she does come up a ton. I didn't just pick her for no reason though-- she was actually very close with Tigerclaw when they were kids, and her death in the crossfire of a ShadowClan invasion is one of Tiger's few regrets.
He knows she plays tricks but underestimated her; and she gave him a curse instead of a blessing.
But no no, don't think for a minute I'd legitimately set it up like Scourge only killed Tigerstar regularly lmao. Nooo. It would still be the bloody, painful, suffering-nine-times unzippening that it was in canon, even if Spotty laid a curse on him. It would be more like... giving him an extra second's opening.
But if Spotty's not popular I'll do Leopardfoot's instead, telling him that he can still stop this. But he won't.
I generally don't like the "Reluctance Lives" that happen in canon because they backed themselves into a corner and decided that every ceremony MUST end with 9 lives. Every life being given is probably at least several more months of leadership-- a Spirit that does not want the Leader to live longer simply should not give one.
In spite of everything, his mom would still love him and want him to have another life.

Where: Evolution
Who: CAPPED (5/5)
Lucas leaned against the entrance, making sure that security knew he was planning on not drinking tonight. "Hey, if you need a ride tonight, I'm DDing." He said, glancing around before his blue eyes landed on the person next to him. "I'm serious. Make sure you're safe getting home. And if you need me, let me know." Sure, he knew almost everyone in town. Had grown with with a lot of them, or had seen them grow up. He felt like the honorary father or big brother of a lot of younger adults.
