Going Green – A Poison Ivy Tutorial

Welcome to the second video of Spooky Season! This look is a little bit more full on and is a perfect look for any halloween party. I give you my interpretation of Poison Ivy. This look took about 3 and a half hours to complete, however I have to admit I was watching Netflix – and its much easier if you have a helping hand during the body painting!

I hope that you enjoyed and if you did, please like the video and subscribe to my channel as I will be posting a new video every Thursday at 7pm until halloween. Next Thursday’s I will be transforming myself into a halloween themed piece of living Pop-art.

I am not a professional make-up artist, and am completely self-taught when it comes to SFX make-up, however if I can do these looks then so can you. Please be cautious when using these products as when misused they can be unpleasant – always make sure to allergy test *Especially with Liquid latex – I myself don’t react on my face but do on my chest an neck!*. ALso if you haven’t had a reaction in the past but are using a different brand STILL allergy test, different brands use different ingredients!

Products used in this video: – Chromaview Contact Lenses in Aqua Blue Ice Walker. *Please note always do your research when buying contact lenses online! I bought mine from https://ift.tt/29Scsxo. Put them in before makeup, with clean hands and make sure you do not use broken / expired contact lenses. Check the packaging – Any eyeliner pencil – Cottonwool balls – Kryolan liquid latex – Snazaroo face paint in green – Snazaroo face paint in black – Urban Decay naked basics pallet (shade Blackjack) – Snazaroo face paint in red – P. Louise base in shade 0.5 – Urban Decay Game of Thrones pallet (Shades; House Lannister, Lannister Red, Nymeria, Winter is Here, Weirwood Leaves, Red Keep and House Targaryen) *This is a limited edition pallet, however I aimed for colours that were rust coloured, had orange reflects or used golds, and the Weirwood Leaves colour is is deep purple – you can recreate this look with other pallets. Basically aim for colours that will compliment the green or that will stand out against it. – Urban Decay Full Spectrum pallet (Shades Jones & Hatter) – Soap and Glory supercat felt-tip eyeliner in black – Benefit they’re real mascara in black -Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter in Amrezy – Saffrom London metallic eyeliner in gold – NXY liquid suede in stone fox

*I made my costume using a body suit from Boohoo, which I then stitched some fake ivy leaves onto. The bracelets and the ivy crown are made from garden wire with ivy garlands wrapped round then, all bought from amazon.* I wore the look with some green tights – because it seemed like so much effort to paint my legs as well and a pair of green converse which I had also stitched some ivy leaves to. What is star*punk?

Starpunk Zine is an informal project intended to show a different side of the human future, starting from fashion and style. This zine is a baby sister of The AltSciFi project, which focuses more on the intersection of technology, user privacy, digital human rights and global culture in the context of independent science fiction.

Starpunk jumps in from the opposite direction, asking: who does the future look like? What will be considered beautiful? Where will technology interface with beauty, fashion and lifestyle?

Who among us live in one of the many probable futures, right now?

To put it simply, the future is brown, black, Asian, biracial, native; lesbian, gay, biracial, transgender; woman, nonbinary, and increasingly Muslim. Taken together, these groups already represent the majority of the world. So it's long past time to see more diverse images -- both in real-world media and in future-focused science fiction. And that's exactly what starpunkzine is all about.
