I'm actually lowkey embarrassed that dissidia post got the attention that it did cause it's easily like, the lowest intellectual effort post I've ever made dbjdjf, so here's the follow up unhinged rant going over what I love about Kuja in Dissidia Duodecim.

Like I was saying, his writing in Duodecim is AMAZING, like everytime I think about it it blows my socks off. It would be so easy if just the whole game he was the Kuja he was during the plot of FF9, shallow, flamboyant, and callous, but they decided to pick up with his arc from the ending! Which is what I like to see in a spinoff like this, not just a rehash of old stuff but a continuation, a reiteration. And doing that also shows great grasp of what his character's about. Dissidia pulls from every mainline Final Fantasy game and isn't shy of the fact that not every game has the most complex villain. I often see Kuja too considered to be just a fun purely evil villain instead of someone with more meat on his narrative bones, which is insulting to me. Kuja isn't motivated by some deep darkness in his soul or a craving for violence and suffering like some other villains, all his actions were motivated by one thing, which was wanting to prove to his creator that he could create his own purpose and worth. It just happens that because he's insane, his methods to this is mass-murder and regicide. He loved life, and Gaian culture, and having a purpose, which is why he has those two massive changes of heart by the end, and is left feeling empty. The life he loved is ending, he scarred the planet that he loved, and the entire narrative he built for himself was null, its just over for him.

And that's where Dissidia picks up, because it understands that Kuja is not a being of darkness nor much of a sadist, he's just a guy who loved theatrics but had that beaten out of him by existential dread and now doesn't want to live anymore. And the only thing that would've given him any reason to live after his defeat, his brother - who was with him till the end and likely the only person from his world who doesn't want to kill him anymore - HAD HIS FUCKING MEMORIES ERASED. So what does Kuja do? He follows Zidane around and tries to help him, because like, literally he's just that grateful to him. Like??? That part's really important to me, cause it would be really easy to assume Kuja was bitter during his defeat, given his actions and apparent shallowness. But this game is SMARTER than that, and it understands that Kuja wasn't angry anymore, he was just empty and still deeply nihilistic. But actually given an opportunity to try again, he sticks to Zidane. Despite there no longer being an external incentive, AND ACTUALLY DESPITE FORCES WORKING AGAINST HIM. Like Kuja was placed on the Chaos side, surrounded by a sea of fellow villains who could produce all the bravado and destruction he used to enjoy, but he was so genuinely disillusioned with that afterwards, he goes out of his way to do right. Despite threat of annihilation by his peers and heroes he was trying to help! LIKE THE GAME GETS THAT HE ISNT JUST EVIL????? IT GETS THAT HE ISN'T JUST A SHALLOW SADIST????? It's fucking heaven-sent.

OH MAN AND THEN HIS INTERACTIONS BEYOND JUST ZIDANE! That interaction he has with Cloud is one of my favorite things ever, it's just fucking rich with characterization for him. And then you have him freeing Terra from her spell because, can you believe it guys, he felt honest to god sympathy and compassion!! Insanity!! And then that leads to his relationship with Kefka which is immaculate! Everything about their relationship helps reiterate Kuja's helplessness as a character and villain, and just makes me fucking DESPISE Kefka. But in the fun intentional way. He's such an abusive, manipulative asshole to him, and it stings like hell to see Kuja once again end up as someone else's pawn BECAUSE HE WAS WILLING TO SPARE ANOTHER FROM THAT FATE. Like it's horrible for him, but it deepens his redemption.

Ok, and last thing is his VOICE!!!!! JD CULLUM!!! JD Cullum, I owe you my life, your Kuja is so delightful! It's just perfect. It has this androgynous softness to it, he switches between the theatrical and honest lines perfectly, and he sounds annoying!! That part is so important to me, if Kuja had a generic sexy villain man voice I'd be so disappointed, but like have you heard him in NT? I don't know why he sounds so happy in that game (I think Zidane has his memories in that one...) but you can hear his stupid little smile behind some of those passive-aggressive one-liners, it's the best! I have Dissidia Duodecim emulated on my PC just for Kuja's lines.

Final Fantasy 9 is criminally underloved by Square, and Kuja as beloved as he is is so often misunderstood and mischaracterized by fans. Dissidia being the only other piece of official media he has a role in and getting it THIS RIGHT brings a tear to my eye. The game in general is just really above average for a silly crossover fighting game, I can't speak for the writing of every character, but I know my Sephiroth friend has moments from that game that give them psychic damage (/positive). And for me, the Kuja Guy, it gives me plenty as well. But also some negative psychic damage cause why tf does he look like that.

So, I rewatched game of thrones again. I have some thoughts...

The first time I watched the ending I was beyond angry and mad, to the point that everytime someone brought it up I would say we don't talk about game of thrones in this house. And I know it was a dramatic reaction but that's because I got incredibly invested in this TV show. All I was left with was anger.

The second time around, knowing what was coming was a bit different. I'm genuinely sad and disappointed now, there's no more anger.

I remember thinking after first watching the last season how could you do that to your characters? Characters that you've grown, developed, gave challenges to, made them overcome said challenges, only to destroy that development in one fell swoop. What king of writer does that? A shitty one.

Because, here's the thing. I'm not saying they're shitty writers for making their characters into something I didn't want them to become. They are shitty because of the way they executed it. They did a shitty thing because they only thought about marketing potential and audience numbers and shock value. They said they did this because people wouldn't expect it but here's where they were wrong.

George RR Martin wrote Dany with the intention of turning her into the Mad Queen, placing well written foreshadowing in the books. In the show, at time were shown her cruel side, showing no mercy towards her enemies. And if it was done right, I believe it would have fit with her storyline, her going mad. I also believe it's what George RR Martin would have wanted. But this? We were given no reason no explanation no nothing. It wasn't a high stake situation where she didn't have a choice. She wasn't in the middle of an emotional breakdown where she wasn't thinking about her actions. I know she lost two of her dragons, Missandei and she was betrayed by people close to her, but it somehow still doesn't feel justified enough. She just sat atop Drogon looking at Kings Landing and cold blooded decided to murder anyone, without a point whatsoever. This seems out of character for her. Someone who treasured the lives of innocent people and tried to protect them. They really did her dirty. I get that they felt like she needed to turn mad, but they could have done it a different way.

And now, to the point that is truly heartbreaking for me. All this time I wasn't the most angry that they practically made Tyrion useless in the last season, or that Bran becoming king came out of left field. No. What I was most angry about, and now just sad, was Jamie. How could they do that to him? Initially, I thought that you build a character like that, you make him go through trials to prove his character, to make him become a better person all around only to destroy everything in a few seconds. Now, upon my re-watch I don't even know what to think. They made it seem like he would have never felt truly happy in the North or that there was something missing and that going back to his sister was inevitable. But all that happened with Brianne... She saved him just as much as he saved her. And the respect Jamie carried for her, was rare for him. He didn't bestow that to many people. So seeing how easy it was for him to hurt Brianne and leave her like all they've been through fell short in comparison to his sister, truly left me heartbroken.

So, I guess what I'm saying is I understand why they made their choices. But what I don't understand is how they were allowed to execute them this poorly without being taken down the moment their shit spewing mouths opened to these horrendeus ideas.

When I said that GRRM wrote Dany with the intention to be make her the Mad Queen in the books I was referring to a lot of the actions that would make her cruel. The show didn't talk about how the only reason she took Astapor was for an army, and when Drogo and the Khalasar were enslaving the Lhazareen, she had no problem selling those people into slavery, and when she started to become uncomfortable with the carnage, she told herself, "this is war. It's the price of the Iron Throne." The books also had her murdering children during the sack of Astapor. The show didn't talk about how Daenerys didn't want the entire caravan of people from Astapor and Yunkai following her, or the fact that when she took Meereen, the bodies (of slaves, freedmen, and masters alike) were piled so high that it took her hours to get into the city. They didn't talk about her torturing the wineseller's daughters or enslaving freedmen once she became queen. And they didn't talk about how Dany treated Irri. I'm not saying these are grounds for making a character mad in general. I'm just saying that specifically in this instance GRRM making Daenerys mad in the end would be somewhat justified.

chapter 30 has me CLIMBING the WALLS

the visceral uncomfortableness of a dead silent car ride with these two,,,, i can not even begin to imagine it. the tension in there was so heavy and so dense i’m shocked it didnt make a black hole

first thought when naoya took a suddenly different turn on the street was “oh so we’re getting murdered in an alleyway??? left to die??” he does not come off with good vibes for himself at ALL. luckily its just for more doctors appointments. deeply sorry to every individual that had to be around these twos painfully obvious rift

EVERYTIME NAOYA TRIED TO TALK TO HER… i know hes done nothing to properly redeem himself but ohmygod i can feel the awkward pains. kudos to him for not just like bursting into tears in the elevator when she turned away. i would’ve been a mess.

i’m gonna THROTTLE this doctor (also y/n girl i get the frustration but what did you WANT him to SAY for you on the cheating question,,, if he speaks over you to answer i know you aren’t going to like that either he can NOT win this one,,,) - and also the one time naoya pulls himself together to assist by showing the ultrasound that gets just shot down as well. we are on a losing battle. naoya stans stay losing 😔

The worst part of Naoya’s continuous failing attempts would definitely have to be the way Y/N just turned away hahahah I was like DAMN girl, even if she was somewhat afraid of doing anything because of his outburst she really did that. And Naoya took it lmao straight to the heart. Good.

As for Naoya crying… heh. 😊 I just realized we haven’t seen him do that… interesting, I think you might like that one chapter.

The whole doctor thing was just awful. He was really out there, jabbing at anyone he could 😳 I’m surprised he didn’t kick it up a notch and slander Toji too. Though I think Naobito was like “No, Naoya is sensitive and he might actually kill you so chill, I still have use for you” lol

I’ll still defend Y/N by saying she hasn’t cheated on Naoya but…. I mean, the emotional department… that’s long gone hahahahahahahahahahhahahaahhahahaha Still, wtf is this man going over and over about that particular topic? Like, we get it. You want to know. As for the ultrasound part, I actually was like “huh, impressive Naoya decided to actually stand up and do something” maybe to get his money’s worth, or probably to reveal “WHAT THE HELL DO THESE THINGS MEAN????? IS THERE A BABY THERE OR NOT” get outta here... and how he reacted to the rest of the procedures I was just like yep, there he is... usual Naoya.

This man is grasping at straws at this point, inviting her out to eat was the evidence of that lol. If Y/N was a bit more… assertive and fearless, she would’ve been like “are you serious right now? You want me to get sentenced to death again? Sir, I only have one life, GOODBYE”

As for the “test her condition”… it’s the doctor instigating Y/N and Naoya again with Naoaki lol. I don’t know what this man is thinking, seriously. Probably that Y/N was abstaining to do the deed in a more pleasurable way 🤮and the way he was disappointed that there was no heartbeat or a fetus in there wtf lol.

Naoya is hesitant because of Naoaki more than anything, as well as the fact that he can’t get near Y/N at all, his father’s conditions for her survival looming in the back of his mind.

If it helps to give some peace of mind, Naoya does not have it in him to force himself on Y/N again, at least… not now. Because he knows if he crosses that line again, she’ll definitely run towards Naoaki and never leave, and his marriage is DONE. GONE. (can’t be a good person just cause, eh??)

Both characters are on a really tight spot, but I guess in an emotional distress Naoya is in the worse position as of right now. (Y/N is used to it in a way, while he’s barely comprehending what’s going on around him, he's got a whoooole world of turmoil to comprehend, and more to come lmao)

But as you said, we're out here cheering for Naoya lmao!!! Indeed, go give us nothing 😂😂 And the way you described Naoya as a chihuahua... lmao, couldn't be more accurate.

Idea 5: Vanessa visits the graves of her victims and sees ghosts

I didn't think I'd be doing more of these, but here we are.

An idea that I've seen exceedingly few fics try and cover is Vanessa encountering the ghosts of the people whom she (as Vanny) murdered after the 3-star ending.

I am unsure as to how one would make this situation happen. Maybe it could be a dream.

A scenario that I like most has to do with the idea that Vanessa visits the graves of the children she (no vanny) killed. After she was freed, she reported the location of the bodies so that they could recieve a proper burial. Vanessa knows that it isn't enough, she doesn't think that she will ever be able to do enough to atone for what she did to all of those children (it wasn't you, it was Vanny.) At the very least she tries to go and visit their graves once a week, making sure to bring flowers for them everytime. Vanessa doesn't say anything during the visits, what is there to say? "I'm sorry?" Yeah right, as if SHE is deserving of forgiveness...

I really like it because there are a lot of things you could potentially cover, including:

How would the ghosts react to seeing the freed Vanessa? Would the children be enraged? If so, what would they do?

Or would they be able to see that the person in front of them is not really the same as the one who murdered them, not mentally, at least? Maybe (relating back to idea 2: "Vanessa is good with kids") the children who were taught by her would be able to convince the other children of this.

How about the therapists? They would likely be more willing to listen, being adults trained in understanding psychological conditions.

One could discuss how Vanessa has been dealing with having 2 sets of childhood memories, a fake abusive one (put there by Glitchtrap for reasons of being a dick) and her true, standard, evidently normal one.

And, of course, we can't forget Vanessa. What would she do? It is most likely that she would curl up into a ball and await the punishment that she thinks she deserves (she doesn’t). After all, it is HER fault, right? (No, it’s Vanny's.)

If you include Gregory in this encounter, he, being the "no fear" gremlin that he is, would probably try and start to defend his… uh… paternal guardian of unspecified rank in some way, either by trying to explain that Vanny is no more, or try and actually fight the ghosts.

As you can see, there are many ways that I think someone can make a mini story out of this concept.

That's actually a super interesting concept. During the princess quest ending (which I believe is the three-star ending? But feel free to correct me), we see Gregory leave with Vanessa (or, at the very least, go //to// her). Signifying, in my mind, that (despite knowing she's ((Vanny)) been behind all the attacks and murders) he can find it within himself to forgive her.

All that to say, I believe that bringing Gregory into the equation would have two possible outcomes:

The ghosts become/are jealous of Gregory and try to attack him. Afterall, if they don't get to live, why should he? (But, as you stated, knowing Gregory, he would probably try to fight them right back).

The ghosts are proud of Gregory (him being the only child to survive Vanny - as far as we know) but are also extremely scared for his wellbeing. Not because of Vanessa. But because Gregory has the self-preservation skills of, well, a child raised with none of the warnings most are given. He visits their memorial site once with Vanessa, and from then on, he has his own little entourage (read: guards) that less physically protect him and more warn him of any impending danger. Maybe, as time passes, and the ghosts become less weary of Vanessa, they start offering her assistance as well. (Whether she can see them or not is another story, though it would be kind of funny if one of the ghosts decide to get something off a high shelf for her, and she then thinks her apartment is haunted). Freddy just thinks it's nice that Vanessa is so willing to take in so many children (he's proud of her).

🍀 Makoto didn't want to believe it. he didn't want to doubt Kirigiri's deduction, he really didn't, and he never thought he would, but he did. he just couldn't believe his.. his lover was the mastermind! of this hellhole, of this despair, of this suffering..! Makoto was in denial about it for a while, but Kirigiri wouldn't allow it so, she presented the undeniable evidence she had.

🍀 he cries, obviously very sad that he made it this far with his S/O only to be told they're the person he disliked the most in this awful situation. Makoto starts avoiding his S/O, not even wanting to look them in the eyes. it just pains him to do so, you can't blame him!

🍀 "um.. th- the mastermind is.." everyone encourages him to say it, to say who put them in this stupid game. the one behind Monokuma's actions, the one behind all these executions and murders!

🍀 but Makoto can't exactly do it, he's having trouble. he's stuttering, and beating around the bush while his S/O is curiously looking at him, probably mocking him.

🍀 suddenly, they asked. "Makoto, darling, who is it? you need to tell us so we can finally get out of here." and that's when he fully breaks.

🍀 he's obviously trying to keep his tears in, and he finally says who it is. he provides evidence that Kirigiri had given him, and his S/O is just standing there with no expression the entire time.

🍀 "um. d- do i have it right, L/N..?"

🍀 the h/c person doesn't reply, only staring. their face is neutral, and they aren't speaking either. they're just.. there. Togami butts in, seemingly annoyed about the amount of silence taking up the class trial. "well? how is his deduction, which i assume is also Kirigiri's? answer it, L/N."

🍀 and then they finally spoke. "have what right?" L/N played clueless, tilting their head and chuckling under their breath. "i don't understand, are you saying i'm the mastermind of all people? seriously? Makoto, is that what you really think of me? a monster?" Makoto hesitates before answering, but he does eventually answer with a "yes". he avoided answering the "monster" part.

🍀 L/N admitted after a few minutes of pushing, and Makoto doesn't know how he's supposed to take it. he just remained how he usually would act, optimistic and hopeful. but he wasn't hopeful at this moment.

🍀 one question stayed in his mind.

🍀 "did i fill you with despair, Makoto?"

🍀 what.. was he feeling at that moment? when his S- when, L/N was being executed? Makoto couldn't have been feeling despair, he was the Ultimate Hope, afterall. what L/N asked him wouldn't ever get to him.

🍀 right?

HAJIME HINATA

🍊 haha.. i had trouble writing for this guy. wasn't sure exactly how to write him.. lol.

🍊 anyway, after every single execution, including Nanami's, he'd always go to his S/O for comfort, and it'd work everytime. Hajime was glad that he had someone like his S/O to be in this, although he was horrified of the thought that either him or his S/O could die. executed or murdered, he tried protecting his S/O in whatever way he could.

🍊 Hajime loved them with all his heart, which is exactly why he was devastated to death when he put the dots together, and realized that his S/O, the one who helped him, the one who cared for him, the one who loved him, would ever put him through this.

🍊 now, unlike Makoto, he wouldn't cry. not physically at least. Hajime mentally beat himself up about things, and he'd just sit in his cabin, rethinking about his decision about his partner. was this the right choice? what if he was wrong and he betrayed his S/O's trust?

🍊 was the love of his life really the mastermind of this fucked up game? the torture that killed people who didn't deserve it?

🍊 Hajime decides that he isn't going to show the evidence to his partner or to anyone, and is just going to keep it to himself for the trial. he'd rather that he only suffered these awful feelings.

🍊 again, unlike Makoto, he wouldn't stutter while presenting evidence, but he wouldn't talk to or look at his S/O while the trial is occurring. no way that he'd be able to do that. though, an accidental glance happened (or was his S/O planning it..?), and it made him pause for a minute.

🍊 he was rethinking his choices again. the others begged him to proceed, that they needed this to get out safely and-

🍊 "Hajime? do you really think i'm the mastermind? because you know i'm not. you're accusing me wrongly, but it's okay. just stop telling them false evidence, and reveal the true mastermind to us. you can do that, right?"

🍊 Fuyuhiko blows up. "the hell? let Hinata continue! we need this shit to get out, and what do you mean by true mastermind!?" he's confused, furrowing his eyebrows.

🍊 L/N looks confused, yet smiles. "um.. y'know, the true mastermind." Hajime was having an internal battle until that, and snapped his head towards L/N, but not making eye contact. "what.. do you mean?" suddenly, he felt a bad feeling. that something horrible and terrifying was about to be revealed.

🍊 "you know what i'm talking about, right? like, you of all people should know, Hajime. i'm not the mastermind at all."

🍊 Owari looked down and raised an eyebrow, clearly not getting what was happening (she was feeling the same way as the others, confused), "what the hell is happenin'?! i'm confused!" Souda groaned, "you're always confused, Owari!"

🍊 "y'know.. the mastermind mastermind." they slowly turned to Hajime with a sick smile on their face, it made his stomach turn.

🍊 "Izuru Kamukura."

SHUICHI SAIHARA

🧢 i couldn't decide if i should've used the magnifying glass or the cap emoji. and i'm so sorry but that magnifying glass emoji is reserved for Kyoko (<3) and Shuichi had some cap anyway so..

🧢 alrighty! so, this man was gaining so much confidence. he was finally able to be confident in himself and his detective skills, Shuichi could fully call himself, while still being completely confident about it, the Ultimate Detective.

🧢 and while Momota and Harukawa helped, Shuichi's S/O helped him the most. even outside of this stupid killing game, his partner would support him every way they could. they were loving, and would care for him. and Shuichi appreciated everything they did for him so, so much.

🧢 when he figured out who the mastermind exactly was, he cried. Shuichi cried until he couldn't, and he tried to convince himself that it wasn't his S/O. that it was someone else, like.. Tsumugi! but that couldn't have been the truth. and all Shuichi wanted to put out was the exact truth.

🧢 except it was so hard to accept this truth, and Shuichi knew, that as a detective, he HAD to accept it. no matter how harsh or brutal it was, he would have to accept it. and he tried to, he really, really did, but even after he told everyone the truth in the final class trial, Shuichi had so much doubt in his mind. he was second guessing everything.

🧢 while we're on the topic of the class trial, he was so scared. Shuichi was scared about what his S/O would think, about what the others would think. if they really were the mastermind, that should've been good, right? but Shuichi would be filled with so much.. despair. and what if they weren't the mastermind? what would everyone think of him? they'd be disappointed, and they'd all die, hating him. especially his S/O, he would lose his trust and would lose them.

🧢 so.. what did he do? how was his physical state in the trial? well, he was an absolute mess in the trial. he'd slip up constantly, would make up excuses, he's stuttering, and Shuichi truly looks like he's about to cry his eyes out until he couldn't once more. and he was about to, but Harukawa comforted him, though it was not direct, Shuichi knew what she was attempting to do, and it kept him from completely breaking.

🧢 "uh- uhm.. t-the mastermind.." he trails off, his mind going blank. what was he going to say again? and while he was trying to gain his thoughts again, Yumeno anxiously spoke up. "wh- what?! who is it!?" Harukawa glared at Yumeno, who toned her voice down. "quit it, let Saihara regain his thoughts. i don't see you revealing the truth." K1-B0 tried calming them down. "um, let us allow Saihara to tell us who this mastermind is. it is very important information as this will save us from these insane killings."

🧢 Shuichi's S/O suddenly talked, and Shuichi feels his heart break, and then feels like he was being stabbed repeatedly with no mercy. "yeah, Yumeno. shut up. no offense," they turned to Shuichi with a warm smile, that would've been comforting, but it just made Shuichi feel like throwing up instead. "anyway, c'mon, you can do it. tell us who it is, we need to know."

🧢 "F/- L/N, p-please. stop.. just, stop pretending. it- it's hurting me so, so much. i-i can't take it." Shuichi turned to L/N with slight tears in his eyes, and L/N's smiled slowly, but surely, disappeared and the others were confused. they all turned towards L/N, then to Shuichi. "um.. what's happening? Saihara, who's the mastermind..?" Shirogane's soft voice asked, confused as the rest were. Yumeno agreed, "yeah.. is this some type of soap drama?" again, Harukawa glared at her. "shut up."

🧢 Shuichi built up the courage to speak once more, but L/N quickly interrupted him. "Shuichi? what's going on? are you okay?" their voice is so.. caring, that it makes the detective so sick to his stomach. were they.. trying to do something? "y-yes. i'll reveal who the mastermind is, rig- right now."

🧢 everyone's eyes widened, minus L/N's. they remained without a smile, and the caring voice that was from earlier didn't seem like it belonged to them at all. "oh, you do now? tell us. are you confident in yourself?" L/N's personality seemed to change so quickly, and so Shuichi couldn't handle it and revealed who it was so quickly, and didn't tell the whole closing argument thing, that it basically stunned everyone to silence.

🧢 after a few minutes of absolute silence, L/N's personality changed once more. "you're like, totally totally sure?! 'cause that's a wild fuckin' accusation, y'know!?" Harukawa raised an eyebrow, "why are you acting like this all of a sudden? are you truly the mastermind behind all this, like Saihara said?"

🧢 and it changed again. "oh.. um.. well, i wouldn't say that! i'm totally way too innocent to be the mastermind! all that was, was a pointless, stupid, totally wrong, accusation!" the trial went on and on, but Shuichi would just stand there until it was all done. and as the trial was finishing, and the end was finally coming through, L/N asked a question that would make Shuichi fall into despair very soon.

🎼 anyway, this woman had so much support throughout her life, and she loved her S/O to death, she supported them and they supported her! definitely a win-win situation.

🎼 well, they were both(?) very happy until the killing game, of course. after the first execution, Shirogane's, and the first murder, Amami's, and so on, Kaede became more and more anxious. what if her partner were to go insane and.. well, she didn't want to doubt her S/O, and she didn't want to ever think about the outcome of that possibility.

🎼 Kaede was more scared for her S/O's life rather than her own, they meant too much to her, and she'd probably go insane if they were to die. She was paranoid, and counted on Saihara to help her and her S/O get through this, along with her hope to stay alive.

🎼 Kaede wanted nothing more but to get out of this hellhole. She hated the mastermind who put them through this, and she had sworn to herself and to all the people that she'd find out who it was, and kill them. even if it cost her own life.

🎼 this, of course, included her S/O. and as Kaede looks back on it, it makes her so uncomfortable. the fact that her S/O just sat there and nodded, agreeing to everything she said, while still being the mastermind behind all this, makes her so.. angry, yet sad.

🎼 "you know? i just.. want to get out of here, with the others. i don't want anyone else to die, but i know i can't stop them even if i were to sacrifice my own life." Kaede looked at her S- at, L/N with sad eyes, as they nodded. "yeah, i agree. i just want to get out of here safely," they put a hand on her shoulder, and smiled. "with the rest of you."

🎼 the last trial started. Kaede found her hand in L/N's, who took her hand and gripped it. as the elevator went down and down, Kaede got more and more scared. this was the last class trial after all, that meant all this pain would end if they got everything in the right place, like a puzzle.

🎼 that meant, there was no turning back. Kaede looked into L/N's eyes, and she swore she saw something swirling in their eyes, but perhaps it was just her imagination. after all, her imagination was pretty wild sometimes.

🎼 Saihara has presented her something earlier on though. the evidence that L/N was the mastermind. Kaede, well, she was hesitant to believe this, but knew that she couldn't deny it. this evidence was from the Ultimate Detective, and it was practically undeniable. as much as it pained her to accept it, she did in the end.

🎼 "L/N, are you.. the mastermind?" Kaede firmly asked, her hands shaking as her right hand pointed towards L/N, the supposed mastermind. Harukawa raised an eyebrow, then looked towards L/N, Saihara nodded approvingly, Yumeno groaned and put her face under her hat, and K1-B0 stared at them.

🎼 Harukawa spoke quickly after Kaede. "well?" L/N didn't exactly respond well. they simply rolled their eyes, and sighed out of frustration. "nah, i deny. how come you can accuse the ultimate [talent] and not the ultimate assassin or the ultimate detective? they seem like smartasses, and i'm clearly not the smartest in the room." they closed their eyes, seemingly calm about this. even though they were being accused of being the mastermind of this whole ordeal.

🎼 "well.." Saihara was about to contradict, before L/N cut him off. "quit it, emo chick. anyway," suddenly, as they turned towards Kaede, their snarky personality seemed to have changed to a sweeter one. "Kaede, you've got this all wrong. i'm not the mastermind, not in a million years. humans are too.. um.. precious? for this world to be in a killing game!" they turned to where no one could hear or see them, and remarked, "precious? the hell?" they turned back to the rest, and cleared their throat.

🎼 Kaede gulped, and nodded. "yes, L/N. we have evidence for our claim!"

🎼 L/N's personality changed again, and it was one that had no personality at all. just.. emotionless. "oh? is that so? well, present it."

🎼 K1-B0 became even more confused than before, "you're not going to deny the evidence that could be used against you?" L/N looked at the ultimate robot, and nodded. "so? i'm not the mastermind anyway, so whatever."

🎼 "are-" Saihara started, but was instantly cut off again by L/N. "shut it." Harukawa sighed, and looked towards Kaede. "continue, show the evidence."

🎼 and so, Kaede presented the evidence. it was all pointed towards L/N, except there were more.. darker assets. these darker assets made Harukawa shiver, even.

🎼 Kaede though, was absolutely heartbroken. the love of her life was the one that she hated the most. the one she had wished was dead, and Kaede didn't know how to think about it.

🎼 she watched as L/N was being executed, and they turned towards her with a smile that seemed genuine, but Kaede had slightly doubted it. L/N mouthed something to her, and Kaede felt her whole world freeze.

But leaving Corpse unanswered was a crime so you started to dig up through memes that will be matching his response.
