the only good thing about my appointment today was the nurse complimented my tattoos and accent (well she didn't compliment my accent to me but i heard her in the hall talking to the doctor about it)

#i will defend nurses till i die! #nurses get such a bad wrap my theory is cause it is female dominated field and also when we go to hospitals they are the first people we se #and who we see the most so they get the brunt of our fear and anger at the situation and people will project those feelings on nurses #but really when a nurse is rude it can usually be explained by either procedure (not giving a patient water/food being perceived as only #out of malice but really it is procedure (can't really change the status of a patient before they're examined) or the stress they are under #the abuse nurses face from patients - doctors - the system as a whole is awful and they do not really get support #so yeah sometimes nurses are shitty but mostly it's not on them #doctors on the other hand...... #they have nurses do like 90% of the work and are still prone to be shitty so less empathetic or understanding of their behavior #this is just my perspective as a patient - family of patients - and someone who worked with medical care (was a receptionist for a while) #diary #♡

Taichi going to work with a bunch of bites and some cuts on his arms worries his co-workers. As everyone Takaaki knows is aware of the whole thing with his family members, they don't bat an eye. But since Taichi has been recently married to Takaaki, everyone gets worried that Takaaki is harming Taichi. But he explains that it's actually his kids (well, Takaaki does bite him, but not in a very SFW way), but not in a bad way, of course. He explains that the bites are for affection. And the cuts are...well, not affection, but they're most likely not meant to be of any form of malice.

His co-workers are confused, but they shrug. "Okay, if that's what it is then...alright."

to some degree, there's no denying that john was at least the smallest bit aware that he was actively deluding himself (and others) into this "god's will" fantasy of his — and the moment where this is most prevalent is during book iv-v, when riley is changed. riley wasn't supposed to be there, not at the rec center, not that late, not after the aa meeting. he was never supposed to come back. and it wasn't god's will that brought him back — it was riley's will, his own suspicions. and because of his own will, indirectly, the angel attacked riley. this part is left mostly to interpretation as the episode ends abruptly, but the implication that i've gathered is: the angel did not turn riley, the monsignor did. riley was not chosen by god; he was chosen by john. because god couldn't cleanse his conscience of his altar boy dying — not like that. not when he had the choice to save him. but this is where john's delusion, for lack of better word, starts to fall apart, because his own selfishness is what drove him to turn riley - not god. what does this mean for his narrative he's (bev's) spinning? was god working through him to enter communion with riley? or was he acting on his own? he isn't sure himself and assumes the former (he knows it was himself). so every time he tells riley, "god chose you," he is actively lying. and he knows he is lying. but lying is no longer a sin to him now — it's a tool to use to coerce people into the gift he's giving.

So many of them are just. Genuinely not there to help you. If its not a quick an easy fix, they will ignore all signs and lie to you, to slap an incorrect label on you and steal your money.

And if they have any way to discriminate against you they will.
