IWRY Marathon

For those of you who are wondering (and thank you for the questions) IWRY Marathon was originally created by leni_ba on her livejournal in 2004.

In 2006 the livejournal community iwry_marathon was created. It was run by Chris and then DS. The sign ups have always been on livejournal with authors sending in their fics to be hosted on a separate site.

In 2014, I stepped in to run the iwry_marathon. Sign ups for the original I Will Remember You Fic Marathon are still on the iwry_marathon community on lj.

The fics have been hosted on AO3 since 2014. After talking to several authors they all wished to control their own fics and how they were posted and felt AO3 was the best option.

Has anyone gifed Angel getting a prophecy about his death, compared to Buffy getting a prophecy about hers? Even though Wesley mistranslated the Angel one, and we find out at the end of the episode he’s actually not supposed to die with the Shanshu Prophecy at all, but actually live (because the same word is used for “live” and “death”. Moreover, Angel can’t live since he’s already dead as a vampire, so the prophecy’s saying he’ll live until he dies. A.K.A.: he’ll become human). Just the complete opposite reactions, man. Angel doesn’t even care that he’s supposedly going to die and doesn’t even really react (which is actually really sad:(), and Buffy rightfully flips out because she doesn’t want to die and tries to quit and stuff.

Also, Angel reacted to Buffy’s prophecy--and cared about that--and didn’t about his own.

Now sure how I missed this article. I didn’t remember some of these! It’s kind of funny how much the Angel cast/crew said they wanted to establish the show beyond Buffy and yet they continually had sooooo many Buffy characters on their show. I totally agree with the Top 5. Excellent ranking.
