I am so pissed off at CBS for demoting Alex and Kenny, honestly what a stupid decision considering how much of a fan favorite both Street and Luca were (but especially Street) 🤬

Digression aside, if you'd want to try writing Street, could you do a oneshot where reader shows up at his place while it's pouring outside and she's like "I didn’t know where else to go" (bc she forgot/lost keys, or got locked out, or sth like that?) and it's just super fluffy?

My thoughts:

I think my biggest problem with Kenny and Alex being demoted is that there are so many ways they could have gotten around it. That should have been a last resort, but CBS seems to have made it without even considering the other options.

Personally, I would have been happy with a 6-episode season, or even just a tv-movie length finale with all of the characters. I know that the budget was the issue, but they made a bad situation so much worse for the actors. Alex and Kenny have done so much for S.W.A.T. and CBS over the last seven years, and I am so pissed at CBS for this decision in particular.

One other thing that makes me mad is that at the same time that they took the starring roles from two fan favorites they promoted someone who hasn't been on it for long. And this is absolutely nothing against Anna Enger Ritch, I'm just saying that it was unfair and borderline immoral of CBS to do that.

And Andrew Dettmann saying, "The idea for the final 13 was that, if this was the end for us, nobody feels like they were underserved. There are some really good episodes for Alex and Kenny, for Street and Luca," while actively underserving Alex, Kenny, their characters, and the fans is laughably ridiculous.

Yes, the show was cancelled and then the decision was reversed, which caused issues, but that is no excuse to punish actors who have been carrying the show since day 1. There are numerous ways to get around budgeting issues before demoting your stars, and if CBS thought people were mad about the cancellation, I bet they're learning there's a whole new level of fan anger after this announcement.

So I found out that Kara isn't going anywhere any time soon and I'm not happy. She seems to make Tammy happy but this is why I'm not: I think they're going to get married. Now hear me out, I want Tammy happy but it feels too soon. There was a lot of talk about how this is a new type of relationship Tammy she even said "This is different, we're actually getting to know each other, I'm not just jumping into bed right away, getting bored and moving on." And she was so nervous about everything being just right when they met. Sebastian said "This girl is like the best thing that's happened to you like ever". The writers are really pushing it along and trying to make things seem so perfect. They've also been majorly incorporating all of the different issues each character is having because of COVID. Laurels wedding was postponed, Pride mentioned it to Hannah in the first episode of the season. But a lot of people have had virtual weddings during the pandemic...and doesn't that sound like a very Tammy "Don't want to make a big fuss" Gregorio thing to do? Another thing is that they've made a point of giving Kara a personality that is comparable to Tammys and she's made it clear isn't going to take any bullshit from her. I mean she gave Tammy an ultimatum to either show up at the concert or stop wasting their time. This is why so many people like the idea of Tammy and Hannah right? Because they see right through each others BS? And lastly if you haven't noticed, the writers seem to be setting everyone up with their own potential happily ever afters. Hannah seems to be kinda finding her calling within NCIS, Rita and Pride are now living together, now Tammy Gregorio is having a serious relationship for the first time. Sebastian is probably going to end up with a bigger role doing REACT and Loretta is doing what Loretta does and going out of her way to help both the living and the dead so some might argue that she's already found her calling. I have no idea about Carter because we don't know enough about him yet but I feel like they're setting everyone up gradually so if they have to shut down again, they can hurriedly wrap things up in a pretty little bow and give most or all of the team their happily ever afters.

Now, here's why I don't like this: 1. This is the first real relationship we've seen Gregorio in. She's the first LGBTQ+ representation and it would be nice to see more of it portrayed than a few odd ball names mentioned, some hookups, and one serious relationship that ends up a happily ever after. This isn't a Disney movie and LGBTQ+ people go through hard, hurtful break ups too. Hannah went through a pretty rough divorce, let's see her help Tammy through a tough breakup! Let us see more of this Tammy growth by seeing her heal and try to find real love with someone else instead of shutting down again and going back to her old ways! I want to see her happy, don't misunderstand but she's just discovering the joy and adventure of what a regular relationship can be, let's see her explore that part of herself now that she's open to it. And 2. If she gets married, then her personal story at that point will fade to the background OR Tammy and/or Kara might be written off the show. We've all seen it. Whenever someone ends up happy, (with the exception of Kensi and Deeks in LA) something bad always happens. They killed off Sam's wife in LA ffs. Mcgee and Delilah? How often did we see her after they married? Rare. In theory, from that pattern, if Gregorio gets married, unless she cheats or something else out of left field, the LGBTQ+ representation fades to the background except the occasional mention here and there.

Does anyone else feel apprehensive or at least uncomfortable about the Tammy and Kara plot? Please tell me I'm not alone. And of course, share your theories.
