It’s such an annoying white feminist go-to move to say it’s misogyny whenever you’re challenged on bad behavior. “If I were a man...” Yes, double standards are pervasive and something to always be aware of but the goal of feminism shouldn’t be to be able to get away with the worst of what terrible white men can get away with.

Genuinely, in a world full of tragic news a black non binary performer getting to take home a trophy their racist white costar has spent years publicly vying for feels like such a win in so many ways. Alex Newell has been through more than enough and deserves this more than just about anyone. This isn’t beginning to address getting to celebrate trans excellence after having been forced to act one of the most transphobic plotlines I’ve ever seen on TV.

(I thought it would be fun if we shared our glee confessions with each other)
Adding to the confession, while I understand why she shouldn’t have been FB, Santana was just the understudy. If Rachel didn’t go to LA she wouldn’t have performed at all even if she didn’t back out. Rachel overreacted and was a hypocrite about it. What frustrates me the most is that she started that feud but she was depicted as the victim and Santana was the bully again. Santana had to hold herself accountable for what she did but Rachel didn’t even though it wasn’t Santana that got physical.
I don’t understand the hate for the song choice. DROMP is in the show why wouldn’t she sing a song FB sings? Rachel doesn’t own it and she doesn’t have a special connection to it either. All she said was that she sang it ever since she was four. I think Rachel/Lea fans are just possessive of it. Although I’m not sure why. Rachel sang the song just the one time in the first season.

I have a dump of issues with the Glee subreddit, but your response back was one of the major things that bothered me about that place. The line was always being moved around there when it came to what was to be taken seriously and what was supposed to be campy. If Rachel did something, like send Sunshine to the crackhouse or make Run Joey Run so that she could show off 3 guys being interested in her, it's supposed to be campy and "peak Glee". If Santana done something like audition for FG, she's thrown under the bus on that sub. Multiple times I've witnessed the characters of color being criticized and hated on relentlessly on that sub while characters like Rachel are praised for their wrongdoings or it's excused. A lot of what is said about Brittany is also very ableist, where some viewers see her as a child who is incapable of having a relationship but only when it comes to dating Santana. The same conversations aren't held with Brittany's relationships with men.
The Glee subreddit is catered to Rachel stans and Rachel stans only. The Santana hate, it's not even valid criticism to me, comes from a lot more than just disliking the things she said. A lot of it seems to bleed from sexism, racism, homophobia and a small part of me also thinks it's about what we know BTS of the show and the cast.
Honestly, I think a lot of the Rachel pandering comes from the Lea Michele scandal.
When Samantha Marie Ware exposed Lea for being racist, there was a rush of sudden Rachel hate. Remember, pre-2020, there wasn't a lot of that (at least, not much in comparison). Knowing that Lea was like Rachel (x100) irl and that she put her co-stars through hell really changed a lot of people's perspectives on Rachel as a character. It, very understandably, makes a lot of Rachel's actions uncomfortable to watch. And that in turn, reasonably, made people start to dislike Rachel altogether.
I think the Glee subreddit, in an effort to combat that, decided to overcompensate by sucking her off constantly. I think in their minds, making light of Rachel's actions separates her from Lea and, in turn, the hate that came from Lea's actions.
And listen, we all hate when our favorite characters are misunderstood and hated by others. There are a ton of characters I'm protective of. But I don't attack other people for merely having a different opinion. I only argue when that hatred comes from misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. My beef with the Glee sub isn't that they hate Santana, it's that they repeatedly bash WOC like Santana, Mercedes, Sunshine, etc. to make Rachel and/or Finn look better (or in Quinn's case, when they act like Finn wasn't awful to her too and hold her to a higher standard than they do him). That's what isn't okay to me.
And about Brittany, they absolutely need to stop treating her like a child. Infantilizing her just because she isn't as smart as other people is so fucking stupid. Glee literally had a whole episode about how Quinn and Tina were wrong for trying to shelter Becky from having a relationship, why does anyone think that's okay to do to Brittany? And the fact that they only do it to argue against Brittana and not her relationships with men just screams homophobia and biphobia. Santana can never have anything, can she?
Not to mention, Brittany is one of the most emotionally intelligent people in the show. Especially when it comes to Santana. She's the reason Santana had so much development in season 2. Because she's one of the only people Santana can be herself around.
(Btw, this page isn't for Brittany/Brittana antis if that wasn't clear. I can't even believe how many Santana stans are anti Brittany)

I'm not sure if people remember, but Lea Michele isn't just a quirky internet joke or a funny real life parallel to Rachel Berry; she's a racist cunt who was notorious for being an absolute menace to everybody in her vicinity over the years. y'all are letting the Funny Girl casting and the, "she can't read," thing overshadow the real reasons why she isn't well liked.

1. Every cover she did on Glee was a imitation of the original, down to every breath and inflection. She has a voice but no originality. So now she will be a Streisand Impersonator
2. I doubt her in the lead will increase ticket sales.
3. Now we know why Jane Lynch wants to leave the show
4. She is a horrible and unrepentant person who has never owned up to her bad behavior. I wonder how long before the cast of Funny Girl hates her (probably not very long)
5. Can’t help but wonder if Ryan Murphy put money in show and that led her casting
6. It wasn’t Beanie’s fault. The movie version is still widely seen so any actress was going to suffer because of the movie and the Streisand legacy

Nick Cannon's character in Drumline got into one of the top college marching bands even though he couldn't read sheet music.
Lea Michele got starring roles in Glee and Funny Girl despite (allegedly) not being able to read.
I made these two connections and I can't get it out of my head.

I’m in a good mood so I’m gonna try not to get too hung up on this but I just saw someone on tiktok say if Cory Monteith could find something to love about Lea Michele she can’t be all bad and threw up in my mouth a little. And that most people would forget to be nice if the love of their life died.
As a Black woman Lea Michele’s actions disgust me. As a person who buried her share of loved ones seeing people use grief to excuse her being a racist bully makes me livid. When my dad died I went back and fourth between being weepy and numb for a year, I didn’t terrorize anyone and I was an actual child. She was a grown adult behaving the way she did. And I hate to break it to you, but sometimes people can love people who suck or just manage to be nice to them and only them.
