Planet Mars: Astrology, Associations, Healing & Magick -Talon Abraxas
Mars and Magick
The energy of Mars may be invoked in magical workings dealing with warriors, war or battles, attack or defense, increasing or preserving physical strength, courage, or sexual potency.
It can also be invoked to break binding spells and love spells and to counter or protect against any spells using Venus energy. Mars energy lends itself well to spells to induce lust and passion, but not love and devotion.

Harilik metspipar (Asarum europaneum L.)
Tumblr media

The clumping, heart-shaped foliage of wild ginger (Asarum canadense) emerges from the forest floor in early to mid-April, often in dense colonies, and persists through autumn. While the velvety, intensely-green leaves are beautiful in their own right (particularly as a ground cover in shady wildflower gardens), an even more intriguing secret lurks below their spreading canopy: an unusual flower with three flared sepals fused into a hairy cup. The flower emits a foul odor that attracts the plant’s primary pollinators, flies and gnats. The pollinated flower develops into a pod, whose seeds are dispersed by ants. The photos above were taken on the Mon River Trail.

Asarum
Asarum europaeum
Common Names: Asarabacca, European snakeroot, hazelwort, public house plant, wild nard.
Medicinal Parts: Rootstock, leaves.
Description: Asarum is a perennial plant that grows in European woods. It is a low plant with a horizontal, creeping rootstock and prostrate stem. Two long-petioled, upright, shiny, dark green leaves grow from each bud on the stem, rising from 2 to 4 inches above the ground. The large, solitary flowers appear from March to May and are characterized by a green-brown color on the outside, reddish black on the inside.
Properties and Uses: Rootstock: diuretic, emetic, purgative. Leaves: cathartic, emetic, errhine. The basic use for asarum is as an emetic. As an errhine, it can be mixed with lance-leaf plantain to eliminate mucus from the nose and respiratory passages. Asarum is too dangerous to use without medical direction.

Day 7!!! Asarum europeaum, aka European wild ginger, aka a bunch of different names because people have been eating this for a long while because it has “medicinal properties”, in the way that stuff had “medicinal properties” back when we all agreed there were four humours governing the human body.
I think this is one of the plants my dog seeks out to eat, so maybe he knows something we don’t??? Then again, he eats a lot of gross stuff, so maybe I shouldn’t listen to him on this one...
