As the official sponsor of Timmy Hill’s #with 13 vehicles in NASCAR, it has also gained promotional traction. In July of this year, the Premier League team from London, Arsenal Football Club, also declared a collaborative marketing partnership with the company.

Despite the Prime Hydration Sports Drink’s popularity, experts claim it doesn’t have any advantages over conventional food and water. Anisha Mahajan, a registered dietitian and Ph.D. candidate at the University of Guelph, warns that the beverage even runs the risk of replacing meals that actually provide nutritional value when consumed in amounts greater than moderate.
In a telephone interview with CTVNews Canada on Monday, Mahajan said, “If we were consuming a lot of things with artificial sweeteners, there may be a risk that we’re loading up on those and are skipping the healthy, nutritious meals.”
Therefore, I would prefer that the youngsters consume those meals first since otherwise artificial sweeteners would replace these beneficial nutrients.

According to Mahajan, there is little information available regarding the long-term health effects of aspartame use. As a result, she advised that the use of artificially sweetened beverages like Prime Hydration should always be moderate.

ok so basically. here’s how restricting became so much easier.
i don’t eat anything with more than 0.5g saturated fats (they are SO FREAKIN bad for you)
no trans fats at all. ever. they’re worse for u than saturated fats. i don’t know how it’s legal to have them in foods.
i stay away from the following ingredients (meaning put down the food if it has it): MSG (kills brain cells, gives insulin resistance, impairs memory, causes reproductive issues, causes metabolic issues, supports obesity), TBHQ (bad for adhd and add, increases incidence of tumors), high fructose corn syrup (increases hepatic fat—diabetes!, plays key role in obesity development, visceral fat production [most harmful fat], insulin resistance, has no nutrients at all whatsoever, diminishes ability to learn), sodium nitrite (WILDLY WILDLY carcinogenic. basically guaranteed), BHA (creates TBHQ), and sodium benzoate (proven to worsen adhd and add symptoms).
im gonna add more to my personal list but yeah. these restrictions motivate u to preserve ur health in more ways than one. sometimes u forget how harmful certain chemicals are. i don’t want cancer and i love my brain and i dislike adhd so these all help me get motivated. but these rules leave u with very few food choices so YAY!!! that just means theyre better for u!!!
also the rumor that aspartame causes cancer is completely a myth. i researched it. go on drinking coke zeros my lovelies :)

Bloating personal causes
I know I talk so much about bloating recently, but it is an issue I want to manage. I am getting the hang of it and am feeling much better with time, but I like to write my thoughts out on here. Keep in mind that I hate restrictive diets and they have ruined my relationship with food. So this helped me identify the best foods and eating patterns for me where I can eat in a healthy way without depriving myself or adopting an orthorexic mindset.
Here's a super long list that includes the things that make me feel bloated (after weeks/months of trial and error, following that a list of things that helped me curb bloating):
Too much salt. Consuming really salty foods like chips, crackers, chicken tenders, burgers, pizza, etc... does cause me to bloat. It's not that bad if I don't consume too much and let my stomach rest + drink water afterward. But overall, it is a definite cause of bloating for me.
Dairy. Personally, I can consume cheese and yogurt without any serious bloating effects (I can't give cheese up), but milk bloats me a lot. Ice cream, store-bought lattes, mochas, etc... bloat me a lot (especially if they are cold and not warm/hot).
Sugary and carb-rich foods are devoid of any nutrients (such as protein and fiber). These are the foods I eat and then half an hour later I am still hungry. These include milk chocolate, chips, white bread, croissants, donuts, cookies, donuts, and other baked goods and sugary candies. When I eat these, I am eating something that is high in calories but completely devoid of macro and micro-nutrients. As a result, my stomach starts growling half an hour to an hour later because I am not satiated. They say sugar can cause bloating because it disrupts your gut bacteria when they try to digest it. I don't think that's my issue - my issue is that they absolutely do not fill me up and cause my stomach to growl not that long later. A low protein dinner does this to me (like the pizza dinner I had last night).
Artificial sweeteners. Unlike sugar, artificial sweeteners cause me to bloat. These include stevia, erythritol, Truvia, Splenda, aspartame, and xylitol. And I'm going to be honest, they all taste horrible (this is my personal opinion). I don't consume them anymore, but I used to add them to my coffee and wondered why my stomach looked 3 times bigger.
Soft drinks and other bubbly beverages. The gas content of these drinks causes a lot of bloating. I'm not a soft drink fanatic, but I do enjoy Diet Coke every now and then (I always liked the taste). Also, they have the same effect as (3) because they are absolutely not filling and make you hungry afterward for real food.
Snacking. Whenever you eat, your stomach does stretch out. However, my issue with snacking is if I eat something that is not filling, I will not feel full and satisfied (especially if it doesn't contain protein). As a result, I'm going to get a growling stomach. Even if I eat something like fruit on its own, this will definitely happy. I usually eat my snacks with my main meals unless it's a late-night snack I can eat before sleeping.
Monthly cycle. I cannot do anything to prevent this as it is completely normal and should never be treated as not normal.
Drinking water immediately after or with meals. I feel like it somehow dilutes my stomach acids and I cannot digest food as well as I want to. I still do consume at least 2 L of water, but I try to do it not during meals
Chewing gum. I don't chew gum anymore since I don't like artificial sweeteners, but I've noticed from past experience that it does cause bloating.
What helped me curb bloating:
Drinking enough water (2 L min per day). 1 L first thing when I wake up and 1 L before I sleep in the evening/night.
Eating foods rich in fiber such as fruit, veggies, chia seeds, dark chocolate, sweet potatoes, and whole grains (no, grains and gluten do not personally bloat me). I'm considering getting some psyllium husk for days where I am low on fiber as a supplement (as opposed to those artificial sugary gummies).
Eating every 5 or so hours. Contrarily, eating too little or too far apart does lead to bloating since your stomach starts to growl when you are hungry. For me, eating every 5 hours works best (not including sleep). If I need a late-night snack, then I will go for it (a spoon of peanut butter helps). But having an empty stomach at any time of the day and having it growl and gurgle is absolute hell and can lead to potential binge eating since you're practically starving and in desperate need of food.
Drinking some matcha tea after each meal. It helps more with digesting than water does since it is a metabolism booster. I guess this is comparable to the lemon water + ACV shot trend but less acidic and therefore less harmful for your teeth.
Consuming enough protein in each meal. I'd argue that this is just as important as consuming enough fiber. Protein fills me up more than anything, which is why I failed as a vegetarian. I do not feel full unless I eat protein with each meal. I can't even snack on fruit alone or anything else that is low on protein because half an hour later, I will be hungry again (and my stomach growls all over). Protein is so filling and is necessary to have with each meal along with fiber if I want to avoid bloating. This explains why my stomach felt bloated and growly the morning after our Friday pizza night despite having a large window between the pizza dinner and the next morning when I woke up. Because I did not have a protein-dense dinner. Pizza is great here and there, but protein is essential if I want to feel the best digestion and bloating-wise.
Consuming non-dairy milk such as almond and coconut milk as an alternative to dairy milk.
If I crave a salty snack or dish, eating it but in small quantities to avoid consuming way too much salt and therefore feeling uncomfortable. Getting a smaller bag of chips and eating it with a filling meal as a "side" is a lot better than eating a large bag of chips and considering it to be a meal replacement.
If I crave a sweet snack, I'm not entirely sure what I can do just yet. But I don't believe in replacing my healthy fiber and protein-rich snacks and meals with something high in calories and devoid of any nutrients and does not fill me up. I'll have to figure something out.

Are you being present, mindful, and paying attention to your mental and physical health?
Most of my clients come to me feeling depressed, anxious, and lacking energy to the point that they are challenged both mentally and physically.
Would you be willing to listen if I told you that you might be able to control or prevent all of the above by paying attention to what you put in, on, and around you?
Our society promotes instant gratification and quick fixes but this may not be the smartest or most productive way to accomplish one’s goals. It’s like taking pills to relieve pain and discomfort; it only deals with the symptoms rather than addressing the source of the problem.
In my mid 30s I was too busy concentrating on reaching for my goals instead of paying attention to good nutrition, stress management, and proper rest. I only became proactive after I was in significant pain and almost bedridden. I was living with a handful of issues: Aspartame poisoning from all the diet drinks that kept me moving; Fibromyalgia from the foods, chemicals, and environmental toxins in my life; Chronic Fatigue from the stress I held in my body. I was frustrated and depressed, desperately going from doctor to doctor taking whatever medication was prescribed and still not feeling well. Finally, I stopped to think about my grandmother who came to this country in her late 20s from a farm in Hungary. She birthed nine children, had a healthy life without medications or physical ailments, and passed away at the ripe age of 99. It occurred to me that her eating fresh whole foods, using products with minimal toxins, and taking that one-day of rest might have contributed to her healthy longevity. My own health only got better when I decided to take responsibility for my own wellness and pay attention to what I put in, on, and around my body.

You don’t have to get sick like I did before paying attention to your wellness. There is enough help and information available to ensure you take care of yourself in a positive and productive way. Take on the challenge and make your body and mind as important as your business and discover just how much more productive and successful you can be.
Here are some guidelines to help you on your journey toward wellness.
Go back to basics and choose the following:
Whole foods in their natural state or organic options as much as possible; this will help you avoid toxins, chemicals, preservatives, hormones, pesticides, food colorings, and MSG
Fresh fruits and raw vegetables that are full of natural enzymes for easy digestion and absorption of nutrients
Natural sugars and sweeteners
Products for your hair and body with the most purity and smallest amount of chemicals
BPA-free containers and cans
Filtered water for drinking and bathing
A good night’s sleep (consistently!)
Choose to avoid:
Packaged and canned foods
Foods genetically modified or engineered
High fructose corn syrup and diet sugars such as Aspartame (also known as NutraSweet and Equal). Both are known to be the most toxic sugar substitutes
Microwaving foods (radiating) and killing the nutrition and enzymes that are needed for digestion
Products for your hair, body, and skin –your largest organ – which absorbs whatever you put on it. Pay attention to the ingredients in shampoos, deodorants, sunscreens, cosmetics, skincare, and body care products that have carcinogenic ingredients such as fragrances, aluminum, mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, isopropyl alcohol, and talc.

High electromagnetic fields (EMFs) like power lines and small electronics such as computers, cell phones, electric clocks, and electric blankets

I have included the above as I feel it is important for you to be aware of some of the chemicals and ingredients in the products you use daily and what is in your environment that is toxic for your wellbeing. Some of the above products even have alternative uses such as extending shelf life, dissolving car grease and oil, and can be classified as pesticides and antifreeze for industrial use. Studies are showing that these ingredients may permanently damage cells, tissues and organs and body systems and therefore are creating disease.
Statistics show that we are living longer so choose to be proactive and strive to achieve a healthy mind and body. Start small and make a point of changing something every day that will lead to a healthier you. Spring into wellness by being conscious with what you put in, on and around your body.

We hear the word a lot, it’s what separates males from females and men from boys. So what exactly is it? It is the principle male sex hormone and acts as an anabolic steroid. Having lower testosterone can have horrendous effects on men: decreased muscle mass, weight gain, reduced energy levels, and lower libido.
In a study conducted by VA Puget Sound Health Care Systems and the University of Washington, Seattle, found that “about 19 percent  had low testosterone levels; 28 percent  had varying low and normal levels”. In addition, testosterone levels decrease 1.5% every year after age 30. Which means you become less of a man every year past age 30. It was also found that “men with low testosterone levels had an 88 percent increase in risk of death compared with those who had normal levels”.
So with all this negativity, is there any hope for man? Yes.
There are plenty of ‘natural’ ways to increase your testosterone levels.
1. Vitamin D3. This vitamin has been linked to increasing testosterone in men and increasing sex drive. (Source)
2. Eat your steak and whole eggs. Testosterone is derived from cholesterol. Sure egg whites and grilled chicken might be a great way to get your protein in, but cutting the red meat and yolks won’t help raise your testosterone.  IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is a collection of unspecific signs and symptoms also known as a “disease of exclusion” when other gut problems that have a structural component (like IBD, GERD or diverticulitis) have been ruled out. I will discuss how you can heal IBS properly.
IBS Symptoms
Ideally, IBS symptoms must have been present at least 3 months before a diagnosis is given. The most common symptoms include reoccurring abdominal pain with two or more of the following:
Chronic diarrhea or loose, watery stools
Chronic Constipation
Interchanging constipation and loose stools (never consistent) 
Improvement with defecation

Causes of IBS
There is no one single cause of IBS. Some potential triggers of the onset of IBS include:

SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)

WHAT IF LOW FODMAP DOESN’T WORK?!: THE GAPS DIET
Beyond an anti-inflammatory (real foods) diet, and the Low FODMAP approach, one more short term dietary approach the works for some is the GAPS Diet—specifically a diet developed to heal gut dysfunction and bacterial imbalance.
 It’s a subset of the real foods, anti-inflammatory diet with the main distinction of forbidding starchy plants. This means avoiding or significantly restricting potatoes, sweet potatoes, plantains, yuca, taro, and all grains, such as white rice, oats and quinoa.
GAPS DIET BASICS
The GAPS diet is similar to the customized anti-inflammatory diet, with the following distinctions:
• It eliminates all starch sources (e.g., sweet potatoes, potatoes, plantains, etc.).
• It emphasizes the use of fermented foods and bone broths to restore healthy gut
microbiota and gut barrier integrity
• It allows dairy that contains little or no lactose, like grass-fed butter, ghee, homemade
kefir and yogurt, hard cheeses, and fermented cream. Milk, soft cheeses, and unfermented
cream are NOT allowed.
• GAPS begins with an “introductory phase” that allows only meat, fish, bone broth, ginger tea, and small amounts of fermented foods and progresses through several stages, concluding with the “full GAPS diet,” which is much less restrictive.

Once a baseline of “real foods” is established, a few lifestyle game changers can make a difference in how you feel.
Sleep Enough. Get 7-9 hours of sleep (shortened sleep shortens the elimination process)
Drink Half Your Bodyweight in Ounces of Water. Essential for healthy bowels
Stress Management. Stress is the #1 driver of all disease—IBS included. In addition, stress is NOT just mental either, it involves physiological and sociological stress too, such as circadian rhythm dysfunction.
