Auto Insurance During a Pandemic
Given the constraints of virus lockdowns and worries over health and safety, the bulk of your automobile use may be from grocery-store runs these days. Regardless of where you have gone in the past nine months, you’ve probably driven less than you did pre-pandemic, and that pattern could continue for many weeks or months to come. With reduced driving, you may be wondering if you can reduce your…
The Best Shoes for Knee Arthritis
Some experts recommend flat, flexible shoes for people with knee osteoarthritis, whereas others say stable, supportive shoes are better. Now a randomized trial has found that the latter — a stiff and stable shoe with good cushioning — is better than a supple and bendable one.
Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disorder in the United States. According to one recent estimate, 14 million…
When the World Opens Up
Welcome. As people around the world begin to receive the coronavirus vaccine, our thoughts may turn — tentatively, still, but more frequently — to hopes for the time when quarantine restrictions are lifted. “The important thing about imagination is that it gives you optimism,” the psychology professor Martin Seligman told the reporter Tariro Mzezewa. Imagining what we’ll do, who we’ll see and…
Is Mask-Slipping the New Manspreading?
Something about some men just makes it difficult to keep that mask where it should be.
How do you protect your skin in summer? 🌞😎
With summer well and truly in full swing make sure you always remain sun smart.
We’re very fortunate that in this part of the world we have glorious sunshine but remember the UV index is at an all time high with average readings over 10. Exposure to such high levels can lead to ageing of the skin, which means wrinkles, but more importantly it increases your chance of developing nasty skin cancer. So this summer, stay sun smart and regularly apply sunblock at least spf 30+ as well as popping on a hat, sunnies and protective clothing.
Take care and stay healthy 😘

Depois de 40 dias de fartura (festa junina, viagens, meu aniversário…), é hora de retomar a rotina. No fogo, tapioca (massa com banana verde)
I lost 1lb this week. I wasn’t expecting to lose anything, quite honestly. But that’s one pound toward my goal. I have been in a funk the last three days. It came out the clear blue. So I moped around the last three days. But I got up this morning and went. I feel sooooo much better as cliche as that sounds. I just didn’t want to start forcing myself to go and hate working out. Then I don’t want to go. But I’m excited that down 4lbs this month. I wanted to lose 8-10lbs this month. So let’s see how close I can get after this week.

Hypertension During Pregnancy Tied to Later Cognitive Decline
Women who develop gestational hypertension — high blood pressure during pregnancy — may have reduced cognitive abilities later in life, a recent report suggests.
The study, in Neurology, included 115 women with a history of gestational hypertension between 2002 and 2006. They measured their mental agility an average of 15 years later using well-validated tests of verbal fluency, processing speed,…
The Benefits of Moderate Exercise
The other men began a typical moderate-exercise program, riding bikes at the lab five times a week at a pace they could comfortably sustain for 30 to 40 minutes.
Over the course of the next six weeks, the HIIT group pedaled intensely for a grand total of less than an hour, while the moderate-intensity group worked out for at least 2.5 hours each week for the same period.
At the end of the six…
Who’s guilty of sitting in bed on your phone scrolling Instagram or laughing at random TikToks when you told yourself you were going to sleep?! 🙋 It’s sooo hard not to. I mean, that’s your only quiet time to indulge in mindless scrolling! It’s like a treat….butttt it’s not so great for your brain OR your sleep! The light from your phone triggers your brain, making it harder to fall asleep. 📱 Something I am LOVING about my new workout program is the trainer actually provides NIGHTLY stretch routines that are super quick, so you can do them right before bed to caaallllmmm yourself and prepare your brain and body for your beauty sleep. 💤💤💤 They have been a game changer for me the past couple of weeks! Do you have a nighttime routine? Share it below and teach me something! 😊
Amid One Pandemic, Students Train for the Next
The project was awarded funding in early 2020, said Christine Marizzi, the chief scientist at BioBus. Weeks later, the coronavirus began to pummel the nation, and the team was forced to shift their plans. But Dr. Marizzi, who has long specialized in community-based research, was undeterred. For the remainder of the school year, the team will train its virus hunters through a mix of virtual…

Double-Masking: Why Two Masks Are the New Masks
Double-masking is a sensible and easy way to lower your risk when you have to spend more time around others — in a taxi, on a train or plane, or at an inauguration.
The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life.
