Okay, I know I've literally never talked about Supernatural before on this blog but I actually am a massive fan of the series. I could honestly run an entire separate blog about it. Anyway I rediscovered Milo Greene's song "What's the Matter" earlier and it got me thinking about the episode Bitten.
People have eased up on this episode in recent years but overall the general opinion is still pretty negative, which I think is sad since this is probably one of my personal favorites. Keep in mind it's been a couple years since I've rewatched the show, so I'm running mostly on memory here.
First things first, I think it helps keep the series connected to its roots. After season 5, they kept trying to one up themselves in terms of stakes, ultimately leading to such events as "Satan's son's birth opens the multiverse". And we were sitting in the aftermath of Dick and the Leviathans™ where the show was heading back on its stride, so it feels really nice to just remind us where we began. Saving people, hunting things.
Second, it actually does a lot for the worldbuilding. We get to actually see the perspective of both the people being saved and the things to be hunted, all while they have to grapple with it. While they may not be the most compelling, it was really important we got to see the evolution of these friends, a view into the mundane yet interesting history of these regular people's lives. That way it really hits when things go to shit, you (or at least me) genuinely wish things could have gone differently for them. These people had dreams and goals, loved ones, and now two of them are dead and the other is on the run. All that and they still manage to convey it in a way that feels mostly organic.
On top of that, we get a particularly interesting glimpse into how Sam and Dean look from the perspective of strangers, including some interesting character details. Their shenanigans, their work. We really never get to see people who recognize them from other things (like don't they technically still have warrants for their arrest?) so I thought it was cool how the characters pick up on that.
The found footage aspect is usually hated by people, but I thought it was a really cool way to see it unfold. Cause remember, they could have easily just given us an episode from someone else's POV. But instead, we experience it as the brothers experience it. Context for certain things is missing, there are time jumps and finally it ends with a message directly for them both.
It makes sense that they would film what they do too (for the most part). We see that these are people who record fun and mundane things just for the hell of it, so of course they would record one of the most strange and harrowing events of their lives. In an era where people record strangers for internet points, it's honestly refreshing to see people record mostly just for the sake of capturing memories or entertainment for themselves.
I know a lot of people like it, but it holds a special place in my heart. When I think of the heart of the show, I don't think about the world ending or the multiverse or any of that, I think of stuff like this. Things that really stick in your mind.
And also that song fucks.

After a good night’s sleep, I’m not high on feelings anymore, so I feel ready to talk about last night’s episode and my opinion about what might happen in the future.
This is gonna be a bit long so, click on the link below:
1. Ruby and Stan: WOW. Like, really, WOW! I loved that Stan is on this dangerous path with Ruby and that he is using his position as a cop to help his wife. I think it’s his way of showing her that he is glad she is not lying to him anymore. More like a “ well, baby, you finally understand what I want from you and why I was hurt. So, now that you’re coming clean to me, I’ll do whatever I need to do to help you.I’m not going to lose you”. And it’s awesome coz Stan knows the risks. He knows what is waiting for them if they don’t cover Ruby and the girls’ tracks. He understands now that his wife got tangled in this mess and that some of the things they’ve done were necessary coz the situation got out of their control.
Really, I wish I’d find someone as understandable and honest as Stan one day in my life. Now I’m worried about what can happen with these two, now that Turner will come for them. I’m curious and excited to see how Stan’ll use his knowledge as a cop to help the girls escape the law. I wonder if he might meet Rio at one point actually, coz in my head, it makes sense that Stan will want to talk to him. Stan will wanna know what this man is really doing what he is doing and his reasons behind it, coz I believe at one point, Stan will find out that Rio is the one helping the girls cover their tracks ( even if he asks for money in order to do that)
2.Annie.
Oh, Annie, Annie, Annie... She is still acting like a selfish, immature person, who isn’t really understanding what her big sister is going through. Her comment about  Beth finally getting some “vagina action” and how she understands she needed that but not with gang friend...Ouch. It was so not like that, Annie. It was not about your sis getting a dick into her vagina. It was about how your sister needed to regain her sexuality, the reins to one aspect of her life at least. However, I get it, Beth isn’t really opening up to her sister about how she is really feeling, but she was so quick to judge Beth. Again, maybe I feel that she is worried about how things are gonna end for all of them just like she said, and that is why, later, she tells Sadie about her being the bag of dicks who hurt Nancy? What shows me that Annie still needs to “grow up” bc even if I understand her need to be honest with her daughter, she must learn that telling things the way she did is not ideal!! And right before poor Sadie got inside for her classes and in her mamma’s car!! I think Annie should have waited and not drop this bomb the way she did. But she will come around. I hope we’ll see these two sisters finally open up more about what is going on in their heads to avoid more drama but who knows. It will be interesting to see how Beth x Rio closer relationship will affect Beth x Annie's one. I think that as things get more complicated between those two, Annie will worry about her big sis.
3. Beth x Rio.
OH. SWEET. BABY. JESUS.
first, the bedroom scene. Beth’s fantasy. Like I said I think it means that Beth is attracted to what Rio represents: power, control ( or the loss of) and him breaking things down is just a parallel of how Rio was in control of the situation and demonstrated his power over Dean’s back at the end of episode 4. How he is such an alpha, dominating male and omg, kill me. SHE GETS OFF ON THAT.
The violence of the act is a parallel to the violence Rio showed he is capable of, as he smashed that car. It doesn’t mean he’ll ever turn that kind of violence to Beth even in bed like some ppl thought ( including, maybe, the lovely anon I got).
Now, I believe that this particular scene tells us something interesting here about her feelings for Rio, and you’ll find out that I agree with some fellow shippers here: she is more attracted to what Rio represents than the man himself. It is complicated bc you might tell me: “but Mila, this is part of who he is. It’s not the same to say that she IS attracted to him as a person too?”. Yep, it is part of who he is but I believe it’s just 10% of the person he truly is. Look at how he is around his son, his lawyer and even with his crew ( just remember how he was in episode 1x03. He was the boss there but he wasn’t screaming orders all around. he was talking to them and coordinating things but without that bad boy vibe he had around the girls). He doesn’t need to be that dominating alpha male with them and with most of the ppl he interacts. However, I understand that, since the girls mess up constantly and even tried to put him away, the lack of trust makes him act the way he does around them. Rio is way more than just this powerful guy Beth sees. The problem is that he doesn’t let her see nor get closer to him so she can finally begin to know him.
We got to the real problem actually. They rly want to know the other? Or the level of distrust is so high between them that this is almost impossible right now ( don’t worry, I’ll answer that)? Because I believe Rio has a plan for them. He is grooming her into this boss bitch probably so he can have someone he can trust to help him with one of the multiple aspects of his business ( and I believe he chose her coz she is NEW to all this. She isn’t like the ppl he usually deals with, in this business, who are way more greedy and dangerous than Beth will ever be). But since she betrayed him once already, he is keeping some things he can use against her later to teach her a lesson if she even thinks about throwing hin un the bus again.
To answer my question in the last paragraph, I think he is intrigued, curious, definitely attracted to her. He thinks he knows her already, at least this part of her who wants his power, his control over things, his influence, but not the rest of the real Beth. I believe he wants to know her better, tho, because he can’t help it, but he is not feeling safe to do that just yet.
And Beth? Beth tells him to not label them and he says “yeah, it’s too soon”, and I feel like it was the writers’ way of telling us that it really is, bc they didn’t open up to the other still. They don’t trust each other, not 100%,  even as business partners ( well, just look at the promo for 2x06). Beth is definitely not in the right state of mind to really wanna know Rio. She is dealing with the mess her marriage is right now, and with the fact that she’ll now be a businesswoman and provide for her family, and Rio is still this mysterious guy who can not be trusted bc he has Boomer’s body and she doesn’t know what he is gonna do with it
Beth is aware of the fact that he holds too much power in their relationship right now and this scares her, maybe, coz Dean had the power in their marriage all those years ago and look at where it got her? I bet she thinks that he doesn’t wanna her to get closer and she is not feeling all that sure of what she is feeling too, so it’s safer to keep seeing him as this guy who can be her downfall if she makes the smallest of the mistakes.
I just keep trying to get into her shoes and I can’t help but think about how her head and heart are both a mess right now and I feel tired just thinking about it. Also, considering how her marriage ended up in disaster, just think about how she might wanna avoid falling for a guy like Rio if they don’t share any common ground here yet?
I truly believe any relationship between them will be possible only if they are equals. And even then, it won’t be a conventional relationship. Also, yes, it can end up in total disaster but what a beautiful disaster it will be.
all that being said, I do believe Rio has feelings for Beth that run deeper and are more complicated than just lust, and that Beth will develop them in the next episodes, because, like I said before, it’s too easy to turn attraction and lust into something more, depending of the situation, of course.
4. Mary Pat:
Oh, now MP is in deep trouble, and giving Turner one more info about what she knows of the girls was just one more way of showing us that MP is all about protecting herself, doing anything she can survive even if it means throwing the girls under the bus. She was a woman cornered and MP did what she had to do to escape Turner. However, I truly believe that, since it seems that she won’t give Turner what he wants ( coz Rio and Stan will get in his way, in order to protect themselves), this woman will cross a line here and I’m scared and excited to see which one. Can MP turn into the bad guy of this season? Totally b, but hell if I’ll risk telling what she is gonna do in the end.
5. DEAN.
I wanna this fucker dead.
Such a piece of garbage, really. But he is also turning into an interesting character bc I wonder, why he is still by her side? He truly believes that he still loves her? He sees her as his property? Is this about his huge, stupid male ego, that makes him stay by Beth’s side, so he won’t lose her to a guy like Rio? I’ll say yes to the last one but with a side comment:  he is just so used to his life, to the way things are... Dean is this old fashioned guy with sexists ideas and I think that if Beth rly leaves him, he’ll think of it as this epic fail as a man. He wasn’t able to keep his house in order and his wife by his side. So he’ll rather have this lie of a life than lose everything. But once he sees that Beth won’t be by his side for long, what is Dean gonna do? We know he is capable of lying, he knows ppl just as untrustworthy as he is... I believe that in order to keep Beth, he will use blackmail, yep, or try to bring Rio down, but only heavens know how.
Phew, that was long. Thank u for coming to my GG ted talk xD

Supernatural AU: Episode 6 - Shadow
Part 5
“We’ve gotta keep out of sight,” Bobbie said, huffing as she led her brothers down various alleyways in the direction of their motel. “If anyone saw us at that warehouse and makes a connection with the body, we’re fucked.” With all the running they did, it amazed her how out of breath they were.
“We plan on staying in scenic Chicago for a while?” Dean asked, clutching the side of his head. Once they were a few blocks away, they slowed down, allowing Bobbie to pull a tissue out of her pocket and wipe the side of Dean’s head. “Would you stop?”
“No. You idiot. You’re bleeding.”
“So are you!” Dean grabbed the tissue from her hand and did it himself, leaving Bobbie to focus on her little brother. Though he protested, he allowed her to take care of him; she was good at it. “Guess the daevas didn’t like anyone bossing them around,” he finally said.
“Guess not.”
“Hey, Sam. Next time you wanna get laid, how about picking someone that isn’t eight shades of crazy?”
Sam winced as Bobbie dabbed a particularly sensitive part of his cheek. The daeva really got him; his cheek looked like it had been torn to shreds, with chucks of skin missing and muscles seeing a moonlight they weren’t meant to see. “Sorry,” Bobbie muttered. “I’ll take care of it when we get back to the room.”
“How about I wrap up your arms first and then you can worry about me?”
“Deal.” With how much she took care of them, she tended to neglect herself.
                                                           ------
When Dean opened the motel door, he saw a man standing near the window. “Hey!”
Flicking on the light, Sam and Bobbie walked right into their brother and saw the man standing there, heartbeats racing for a split second before they realized who stood before them.
John. “Hey kids.”
Bobbie froze in place, a mixture of gratefulness that he was still alive and anger that he hadn’t called since the last time boiling inside her. She couldn’t feel any one emotion for more than a few seconds before something else took over. She hasn’t wanted to believe that he was in town, not doing anything as they were ripped apart, but here was the proof.
Dean walked over immediately, wrapping his arms around their father like an anchor to the sea floor as heated tears streamed down Bobbie’s face. Her feet wouldn’t budge from the cold wooden floors and she watched Sam step toward him and breath a sigh of relief.
“Hey, Sam.”
“Hey, Dad.”
When he turned to Bobbie, she bit her lip so hard she almost tasted blood, welcoming the taste of copper as opposed to this. She pushed him away when he tries to hug her. “What the hell are you doing here? Where were you?”
“I just got here.”
She wanted to believe him, but it was hard to. “We were being torn to shreds.”
“Dad, it was a trap,” Dean interrupted. “I didn’t know. I’m sorry.” The fact that Dean felt he had anything to apologize for made Bobbie wildly angry.
John nodded and glanced between the boys unable to meet Bobbie’s gaze. “I thought it might be. I got there just in time to see the girl take the swan dive. She was the bad guy, right?”
“Yes,” Bobbie replied, tensing when her brothers addressed him with a ‘yes, sir.’ She couldn’t. She loved her father, but respect was another thing all together and she struggled with it.
“Doesn’t surprise me. That demon has been after me for a while.”
“What?” Dean exclaimed. Why hadn’t he told them?”
“It knows I’m close. It knows I’m gonna kill it. Not just exorcise it or send it back to hell. I’m gonna kill it.”
Sam was awestruck. For all their fighting, his hunting skills were to be admired. “How?”
“I’m working on it.”
Of course he didn’t have a plan. He never had a plan for the big picture. Or if he did, he never let them in on it.
“Let us come with you,” Sam said. “We can help.”
Shaking his head, John outright refused. “Not yet. Try to understand,” he continued quickly upon seeing their disappointed faces. “I don’t want you getting caught in the crossfires.” Bobbie huffed, earning a snap from John. “You can’t possibly understand unless you have kids.”
“What? I don’t? I was never allowed to be a sister; I had to be a mother. If you didn’t want us getting caught in the crossfires, let me fill you in – you failed. Miserably. Us staying out of the crossfire went out the fucking window when you started on this vendetta 20 years ago.”
Trying to diffuse the tension, Sam interrupted. “You don’t need to worry about us.”
“Yes, I do. I’m your father.” Again, he didn’t dare meet Bobbie’s eyes. She had a lot to say and a very loose tongue right now. “Last time we were together, we had one hell of a fight.”
“Yes, Sir.”
“It’s good to see you again. It’s been a long time.”
“Too long.”
Which could have been avoided if you acted more like a father and less like an assassin or a drill sergeant, Bobbie thought to herself. But whatever I don’t have kids so my opinion isn’t worth shit apparently.
When Sam stepped into their father’s arms, she felt a sense of peace. Just because she was angry beyond all belief didn’t mean that Sam couldn’t feel the fatherly love he’d been denied over the past few years.
He let go and attempted to hug her again but something pushed him back into the kitchen cabinets. With a thud, the daevas pinned him by his wrists and knocked Bobbie, Dean and Sam off their feet.
Every muscle in her body was throbbing with renewed pain but John screamed in pain as scratch after bloody scratch appeared on his skin out of nowhere. He’d put them through hell, but the louder he screamed the harder Bobbie tried to push herself off the ground and toward him. “Dad!” Nothing worked. She couldn’t move. These fuckers had her pinned.
Somehow, Sam got himself free of their grip. “Close your eyes!” Crawling across the room, he grabbed a flash bang out of the bag and used it. With a bright white light filling the room, the shadow monsters couldn’t be seen.
Smoke began to fill the room, choking them as Sam grabbed the weapons bag and threw it over his shoulders. He coughed uncontrollably as Bobbie and Dean picked John up under either arm and walked him toward the doorway and out of the motel room. They had to be quick. As soon as the flash bang wore out, the daevas could return.
Around the corner from the motel, the Impala was parked in an alleyway. “Okay,” Sam huffed. “We need to go. Hurry, get in!”
“Wait, wait, wait,” Dean said, blood dripping from his hairline and down onto his tan jacket. “He can’t come with us.”
Sam and Bobbie glared at him, astonished that he out of all of them was saying as much. “What are you talking about Dean?” She asked. “We have to go. All of us have to go.”
After everything they’d gone through to find John again, Sam wasn’t going to give up that easily. “We have to stick together.”
“We almost got Dad killed in there. It’s after him, not us. They’re going to use us to get to him,” Dean said, the words tying themselves in knots as he spoke. “He’s vulnerable with us. He’s stronger without us around.”
Bobbie wanted to smack them all. “ Family is it for us. We’re all going to do what we need for the better of the other. Should we all just walk away from each other and never contact each other again? Would that keep us safe? No!” She felt her voice start to shake and her muscles soon followed.
“Dad, no,” Sam begged. “We’ve been trying to find you for so long. I need…I need to be a part of this fight.”
“The fight is just starting. You’ll have a part to play.” He placed his hand on Sam’s shoulder, desperate to give him the strength he needed to walk away right now. “Trust me. You gotta let me go.”
Why did he make it so hard to trust?
Turning toward her, John grazed the side of Bobbie’s cheek with his thumb. “I know you hate me for it. For leaving you in charge all the time. But keep them safe. You’ve been doing a better job of it than I ever have or could.” With a quick kiss to her forehead, he walked toward his pickup truck and climbed in. “Stay safe, kids.”
After John drove away, they piled into the car and gunned it out of the alleyway and into the thankfully sparse traffic, peeling down side streets until they got to the highway. Sam said nothing and lightly grabbed Bobbie’s wrist, using a bit of gauze from the weapons bag to wrap up her wounds before wiping away a tear from her cheek.
In the front seat, Dean sat determined. He knew what he had to do. They had a mission and he had orders. Another job. Another focus. That was all he needed to keep moving. She glanced at Sam and saw the disappointment in his eyes. After the fighting they did all those years ago, he was just getting the love he deserved – letting it go again in an instant.
As the street lights flickered by, mesmerizing her, she wrapped her arms around herself and curled into Baby’s side door. Hearing her father say he was proud, if not in so many words, felt wrong and right at the same time. She so rarely heard from him that she was doing a good job. It was just expected. She wanted to sit back and revel in that feeling, but the anger swirled tighter and tighter. Just because she was good at keeping her brothers safe, didn’t mean that she should have to do it all on her own.
Tears threatened to fall again, when she remembered what Sam had said to her weeks earlier. We’re family. It’ll never be all on you.
If their father didn’t want to stick with them and fight this thing together, at least she had her brothers. Though she felt alone, she wasn’t.

Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox
Yockey knocks it out of the park with this debut -- ‘Asa Fox’ may be in my top five favorite SPN episodes. Directed by John Badham, featuring one of the best musical montages in the recent seasons before the title card and featuring the always perfect Sam Smith as Mary, Kim Rhodes as Jody and Lisa Berry as Billie, it is criminal that this one only has an 8.5 rating on IMDb. (I mean, Billie’s presence alone makes it at least a 9.)
Anyhoo, let’s dive in.
In this opening scene, we meet baby Asa Fox racing through the woods running from a werewolf. And may I just say I am pissed that we didn’t get an AU Resistance Leader Asa Fox in Season 13 (one of my many disappointments from that plot thread.) Mary is the perfect blend of badass hunter and typical mom (cleaning Asa’s face). Also, her braids are super cute.
“Since the last time we saw you, I killed Hitler.” “Thank you?” Dean is a rom com chick, pass it on. Ellen and Asa were bros, it’s cannon. “We’re going to salt and burn the body tomorrow. I can’t believe I just said that like it’s something normal.” God, Dean is distractingly hot this scene.
How did the Winchesters get into Canada? Are you telling me they have fake passports?!?!
The actress playing Asa’s mom does not get the credit she deserves for this episode.(I looked her up, and she is Laurie Paton. She’s also in The X-Files.)
There should be more episodes that feature a shit ton of hunters getting wasted. “Nobody can take out five Wendigos in a night.” I want that episode.  THE BANES TWINS!  “She was, like, a good witch. Very Enya. It was the ‘90s.” “What did she teach you?” “Mostly how to seduce men.” Max. Buddy. I need you to give Dean a nudge. In other news, I want the Banes twins to be my best friends.
“It’s not like we’re in the live-till-you’re-90, die-in-your-sleep business.” That line has a lot of weight, especially now going into the final season.
Rollerskating ghouls!!! I want that episode too. Sam and Dean walking in just in time to hear that Asa and Jody banged is so awkward.
Jody fangirling over Mary is still the cutest thing that has ever happened.  Mary’s short hair this season is the other cutest thing. Also, unrelated, but I love Sam Smith’s voice. My best friend once described my mom’s voice as sounding like a hug, and while I knew what she meant -- because she’s my mom and I’ve always gotten the same feeling hearing her talk (unless she’s mad) that I get when she gives me a hug, but I didn’t think other people would feel that way -- but that’s how Sam Smith’s voice sounds. Like a hug.
Big Sister Jody coming to Dean’s rescue, as usual.
How come Lorraine heard the name “Mary Winchester” and didn’t immediately assume Mary is Mary Winchester’s daughter who just has the same name? Maybe she just assumes all hunters are childless loners. “You’re the reason my son didn’t become an astronaut.” Also the reason he didn’t become a werewolf, Lorraine, keep up. I do think this scene is wonderful, because as Lorraine says, “Hunting was his whole life. He never married, never had kids--” Mary’s hearing the story of her own sons.  And the next scene is the same: Sam telling her Asa chose to be a hunter will later parallel him telling her he chose to be a hunter in “The Raid” (another criminally underrated episode. God, I love Season 12.) “Everywhere I go and everything I do, it just feels wrong.” Maaaaaarrrrryyyyy!!!! When Sam says Mary was still hunting in 1980, after Dean was born and “everyone” thought she had quit, Mary gets this guilty look on her face that is not really explored to its full potential. And I just want to say that in a perfect world where Jeffrey Dean Morgan was able to come back for a length of episodes and could have a fully developed arc (and not the delightful but kind of fan servicy one he had in the 300th) that THIS is the plot I would have wanted -- John being resentful of Mary for keeping her hunting life secret from him and, arguably, putting their sons in danger for it.
You guys, this episode is already so good, and we haven’t even really gotten to the Agatha Christie-style murder spree yet. 8.5 my ass.
Also, Jared Padalecki is killing it this episode. I love his scenes with Sam Smith.
Is the blood dripping on Asa’s forehead supposed to parallel the show’s first scene? I mean, I’m sure it is, but I need some meta writer to explain to me why that is.
And here’s where the plot picks up. Also, we need more crossroads demons in our life. (Where’s my Bela Talbot Crossroads demon???)
“Go away.” “You’re not the boss of me.”  Billie and Dean is one of my favorite dynamics in the entire show. “You can huff and puff, but that house is on supernatural lockdown.”
Jael kills both a First Nations girl and then later Marlene and her kid to create angst for Asa. Does it count as fridging if it’s in dialogue? Turning off the water is so smart! I love me some smart villains! I love how Jody immediately takes command of the situation -- before Sam, even. I kind of always wanted her to be like Sam’s lieutenant.
“It’s a one-way ticket.” Billie is like me, and wants to watch the Agatha Cristie-style murder spree, which would be totally ruined if everybody could get out of the house.
Did Jael say, “Elvis has left the building”? That motherfucker ....
This is the first time we see Mary grab an angel blade, which means the angel blade Mary carries the entirety of this season is Asa’s.
Kim Rhodes makes a delightfully evil demon, and seems to have had a blast doing so. “I so hoped you’d kill your mom! Wouldn’t that be a riot?”
(also, my brother’s dog is named bucky, so every time a character says bucky’s name i just get really distracted.)
I like the hunters all saying different parts of the exorcism.
“That sucked.” Poor Jody!
You guys, Bucky sucks. Also, hanging the person you actually killed from a tree so that no one would suspect you actually killed him is like ... so opposite of what the demon-dealing-happy Winchetsters would do in this scenario that they can’t even comprehend how to handle it.
I just realized this ep even has an Agatha Christie-style reveal, with the murderer confessing all at the end after being revealed. (And everyone else’s identities/crimes/motivations being revealed FIRST.)
“I was wrong. Asa did have a family. I’ve even got grandchildren.” Wow, it’s almost like hunters can have families too.
“Mom to mom....” Why, oh why did Jody and Mary not hang out more?? (It’s because those fuckers at the CW cancelled Wayward Sisters before it could get filmed.)
Also, this scene between Billie and Mary is so. good. “She’s not alone.” Dean. Buddy. I love you forever. “Then I guess you’re just going to have to wait.” “Winchesters.” This scene is just *kisses fingers like an Italian chef* “So does this mean you’re coming home?” “Well, not yet, see I’m only contracted for like 10 episodes this season ....”
And scene.
I mean. This episode, man. Everything about it is criminally underrated. It’s not very flashy in terms of mytharc plot, but it contains so much rich worldbuilding, such great writing and acting, and a healthy dose of ominous foreshadowing the likes of which only Yockey can pull off.
Yockey knows the perfect characters to mix and match. (And I think the scenes between Lisa Berry and Jensen Ackles this episode became the inspiration for their even better scene in “Advanced Thanatology.”) This is the only episode we ever get that has Mary AND Jody AND Billie, three of the best characters. He also creates delightful original characters (which we’ll see again with Tasha Banes, Lily Sunder, Noah the eyeball-eating monster). I know this is the casting director, and not Yockey, but each of the actors playing those original characters were on point.
I also am a total fan of the Agatha Christie tropes -- to my knowledge, that had never been done with Supernatural before, but this episode was just the perfect combination of the two.
I can’t think of any major problems with this one, or even really minor ones. (I mean, the scene with Sam and Dean talking about Jody’s sex life is pretty awkward....) Keep ‘em coming, Steve Yockey. I will watch everything you ever write forever.

Pairing: Dean x Reader x Sam, Castiel
Warnings: language, implied smut, smut (flashbacks), unplanned pregnancy (wrap it kiddos!), angst, sad reader, jealous reader (a bit)
The morning after Masterlist
Waking up your head feels like it got hit with a baseball bat. Your mouth tastes like whiskey mixed with the taste of someone else’s tongue.
Flinching you realize you’re completely naked and your whole body feels exhausted.
Turning around you see someone lying next to you…naked. God what did you do last night?
Trying to figure out who lies next to you, you tilt your head. Oh god…Sam…Sam is laying next to you…a naked Sam.
Ashamed you turn around only to see Dean on the other side of the bed…naked too.
Fucking shit what did you do last night? According to your soreness and exhaustion you assume you had sex … with both men.
Hiding your face in the palms of your hands you try to calm down. Your mind is racing and your head is spinning. God how did you end up in bed with your hunting partners?
The hunt…whiskey…a lot of whiskey. Trying to focus what happened last night you close your eyes.
You drank with the boys and then you played... oh fuck Dean suggested strip poker. You remember Dean won; of course he won that little fucker.
You were left in your underwear. You remember kissing Sam to at least keep your panties…
You remember Dean kissing down your spine…then…nothing…blank…
Fuck what did you do? Groaning you take a deep breathe … Maybe you didn’t fuck them?
But the sticky feeling between your thighs tells another story…oh god you didn’t use protection? Shit, shit…you’re on birth control…but shit!
Wait did you take your pill yesterday? Oh god, did you?
Whining you try to remember but all you can remember is Sam eating you out…fuck he was good at it! Focus, Y/N, goddamn focus!
But the next thing you remember is Dean switching places with Sam and shit his cock … fuck … so deep inside of you. Groaning he fucked you into the mattress.
Focus…did you take your pill? But your mind is busy showing you Dean and you moving in sync while Sam is watching and shit you came so hard and then…no, no…then you fucked Sam too. Awesome!
He was even bigger and rough…shit Sammy was rough. You never thought he would … fucking shit focus! Did you take your pill?
Whining you try to remember anything useful, but all you can see is Sam and Dean fucking you in the best way possible.
“God what did I do? Fuck!” You mutter.
“Correct Sweetheart!” Dean chuckles.
“Dude! Not so loud!” Sam groans.
“What did we do?” You whisper.
“We had fun last night.” Dean answers.
“Dean we crossed a line!” You mutter.
“Sorry but you were so hot and half naked…” Sam groans kissing your shoulder.
“I think I need a shower.”
“All three of us.” Dean chuckles wiggling his eyebrow.
“Not a chance, I can’t remember much but I’m beyond sore.” You scold.
“What a pity. Maybe we should make you remember?” Dean groans before kissing you roughly.
“Did one of you use protection?” You ask.
“Shit…not.” Sam stammers. “Dean?”
“Fuck…no…we were too busy…shit. Birth control?”
“I’m on pill but I can’t remember if I took it yesterday.”
“Wait you swallowed a pill before we drank whiskey.” Sam says and you sigh relieved.
“Thank Chuck!”
“So shower all three of us?” Dean insists.
“Dean I’m sore and maybe we shouldn’t do this again…” You whisper.
“But you had fun too.” Sam whines.
“I barely remember the fun! I was beyond drunk…”
“You said you want us … both.” Dean insists.
“I can’t remember.” You lie.
Jumping out of the bed you almost run into the shower.
“Do you think she regrets last night?” Sam asks sad.
“No, she lied. Can see through he façade. She’s a bit ashamed I guess.”
2 weeks later
Watching the boys flirting with another chick you feel anger boiling up your stomach. They fucked you and told you you’re something special and now they… well after the fight the morning after you guess Sam and Dean aren’t interested any longer.
Sighing you watch them until…oh god…Why is your stomach rumbling? …shit… Running into the restrooms you say goodbye to your dinner. What’s wrong with you?
Since over a week you feel exhausted, your stomach rumbles and…oh no…god, please no.
Leaving the bar you storm toward your car. There was a drugstore nearby the motel.
After buying a pregnancy test you drove back to the motel. Starring at the positive test in your hand you start crying. Sitting on the bathroom floor you don’t know what to do.
“No, no.” You sob.
“Hey, what’s up Y/N?” Sam asks concerned. You didn’t realize they came back too.
Sobbing you show him the positive pregnancy test.
“You’re pregnant?”
Nodding you start crying. “Don’t cry, maybe it’s wrong.” Sam tries to sooth you.
“Hey, whoa what did you do Sammy?” Dean grunts.
“She’s pregnant.”
“Baby, don’t cry. Does the father know?” Sam asks.
“What? I don’t know who the father is!” You yell.
“So many guys?” Sam asks again.
“No! Only you two in the last two years. I didn’t have sex with someone else! How can you think … I’m not a whore!” You sob.
“I thought you’re on birth control.” Sam says.
“I am and you said I took my pill.”
“You see…I’m not sure.” He stammers now and Dean eyes widen.
“But you said you saw me taking my pill! If I would’ve known I could’ve taking plan B!” You yell at Sam.
“I’m sorry. Didn’t want to kill the mood, so I lied.” Sam admits.
“Great! Now I’m pregnant and got no clue who knocked me up!” You grunt. Starting to cry again you can’t stop the tears from falling down. Honestly you always wanted a baby, but not like that.
“Hey, we’re going to fix this.” Dean tries to sooth you.
“Fix? A baby ain’t a car!” You grunt.
“Do you want to keep it?” Sam asks softly.
“I don’t know…” Sniffing you wipe away the tears. You already made your decision seeing the two blue stripes.
“You want to keep it - right?” Dean says smiling.
Humming you look at the test again. “Don’t worry I’ll leave the bunker. Still got my old hut.” You whisper.
“You won’t leave pregnant with my baby.” Sam orders.
“Minutes ago you thought I fucked so many guys that I don’t know who the father is.” You snap at him.
“Hey Sammy didn’t mean it that way. Let’s bring you home. Castiel can check the baby and we make an appointment for an ultrasound.” Dean whispers. Picking you up he carefully places you on the bed.
“I should leave. You two don’t want a baby with a one night stand.” You whisper.
“How dare you calling the mother of our child a one night stand!” Sam scolds.
“But that’s the truth. You were head over heels for the chick at the bar. I was just an easy lay for one night, nothing more.”
“We weren’t head over heels. She was a vamp. Killed her outside the bar.” Dean explains.
“Oh…” Casting your look down you play nervously with your fingers.
“Let’s drive back to the bunker and Cas checks on you. Tomorrow we’ll make an appointment for you to see a doctor.” Sam says softly.
“Okay…”
Smiling Sam picks you up to carry you toward the Impala. “I can walk Sam.” You scold.
“No, you didn’t feel well.” Placing you into the backseat Sam sits next to you.
“Lay in my lap, I’ll stroke your back. I read that this can help a pregnant woman relax.”
“You read an article about pregnant women?” You ask giggling.
“Always be prepared.” Sam states.
“Not always…”
“Sorry, this is all Dean’s and my fault. We were too hot and bothered … too eager to finally be with you to think straight.”
“I decided to drink so much and if I remember right I kissed you first…well to keep my panties.”
“But in the end you lost your panties too.” Dean says chuckling.
“Not funny Dean.”
“Come one Y/N it was funny. Now I’ll drive us back and then we make you feel comfortable. But first Cas will check on you.” Starting the engine Dean looks in the rear view mirror at you smiling.
“We don’t know who the father is.” You whisper.
“Doesn’t matter. We are the father, both of us. So don’t worry, we’ll take care of you and our baby.” Dean states not excepting any argument.
Back at the bunker Dean drags Cas out of his room to check on you.
“Cas please check on Y/N she’s pregnant from one of us.” Dean pleas.
Smiling Castiel touches your belly. Closing his eyes his features darken.
“We’ve got a problem. There are two babies. Y/N is pregnant with a new vessel for Michael…” At this words Dean starts smiling and Sam sighs disappointed.
“…and a new vessel for Lucifer.” Castiel ends his sentence concerned.
Sam looks at your stunned form, hugging you tight he can’t stop smiling. You’re going to have his baby and well Dean’s, but you’re going to have a baby with him.
“Oh god…two babies?” You whisper scared.
“Shhh…we’re going to make this work.” Dean tries to sooth you. Gently stroking your back he locks eyes with Sam. Nodding Sam let go of you so Dean can hold you tight.
“How can Y/N be pregnant from both of you?” Castiel asks confused.
“Well…we…had sex together.” Sam blurs out.
“Oh…I see.” Turning crimson Cas casts his look down. “We need to keep her safe. Not just the demons will be after her, the angels too.”
“She’s our girl, the mother of our children. We’ll make sure she’s safe.” Dean states holding you even tighter.
“We kill everyone who tries to come close to her.” Sam adds. Kissing the crown of your head he smiles again.
“Wouldn’t it be better if I just leave…”
“No.” Dean says tighten his embrace.
“But we only had sex as we were drunk!” You insist.
“I wasn’t drunk and Sammy only had half a whiskey. We just…we know we shouldn’t have taken advantage of your drunken state but we always wanted you.” Dean rasps.
“Oh…you wanted me?”
“Always…we just agreed you’re off limits, but when you kissed Sammy and then me we couldn’t resist any longer.”
“Do you want to do it again?” You ask biting your lip.
“God, yes.” Sam groans behind you.
“Then we should do it sober this time as I want to remember every detail...”
