Otto is a humble janitorial bot, a model designed to clean human city streets, who fulfills the same role in the new world. He takes pride in keeping his city's streets clean, but has had to face more messes than just mud stains while on the job. Local organized crime doesn't take kindly to a nosy cleaner getting into their dirty deeds, but Otto has learned to take the fight back to them, using both his cleaning equipment and a simple firearm he's picked up along the way to clean up the streets in more ways than one. Despite the rough job, Otto is as amicable as a bot can be, eager to strike a conversation with whoever whenever, even if it's a goon shooting at him. However, with an even bigger mess popping up farther down in the south from his home streets, Otto is eager to take on a new line of work using his unique talents.
In terms of gameplay, Otto is a heavy-duty Utility bot, having the highest and health biggest body of any non-Tank on the roster by a decent margin. This is to fit his role as the cast's semi-tank, who excels when fighting alongside a proper tank who can maintain the frontline while he covers their blind spots. While not as bulky as a proper tank, his freeform mobility lets him pick and choose his fights more than they can, which in tandem with his defensive abilities can make him a more fearsome fighter than his merely modest damage output would suggest. He's one of the more matchup-dependent members of the cast, with some enemy abilities he's uniquely equipped to counter while other abilities can counter his own.
Otto's defining ability is his Power Vac, an arm-mounted high-power sanitation device juiced up to be able to suck in most enemy attacks! The vac heats up quickly though, to the point of being unusable after only a few seconds of constant use, requiring Otto to carefully manage its downtime. This flexible defensive ability though is crucial for denying high bursts of damage, or baiting key abilities. The vacuum stream can't absorb all attacks however, as non-projectile attacks such as melee hits or beam-like weapons will bypass it completely.
Absorbing damage with the Power Vac however has a byproduct: filling up Otto's Junk Gauge. When the gauge is full, pressing the Accessory Ability input will allow Otto to fire off a Junk Bomb, a delayed high-power explosion made of all the random dirt and scrap he absorbed to fill the gauge. This explosion is strong enough to bring most bots to the brink of death at point-blank range, but its large radius makes it a threat even if enemies manage to dodge its full power.
Otto can also swap his vacuum arm for his melee weapon, the Power Mop. This rotating electrical mop rapidly does damage to enemies on contact, but can also clean allies of most debuffs by holding the mop to them for about a second. Cleaning debuffs fills the Junk Gauge, so it's worth giving your pals a touch-up if you have the chance.
When the job gets messy though, that's where Otto busts out the heat with his Auto-Shotgun. This rapid-fire firearm simply fires a spray of bullets in a fixed alternating pattern, making it deal solid damage at close range but becoming weaker at longer ranges. The weapon has 12 ammo and reloads its whole clip at once, making it an adequately consistent weapon but not especially imposing overall. It does however make a fearsome partner to the Power Vac, as it tends to either out-damage or out-range the few weapon types that the vac can't absorb. Otto isn't an efficient assassin by any means, but with skilled play his simple shotgun can clean up nicely.
But to get the job done fast, Otto has to get to the job fast, and that's where his last key ability comes in: Street Mode. Shifting his legs into a set of wheels and tucking in his arms, Otto enters a vehicle mode that increases his basic movement speed significantly. This mode has no cooldown, but he can't fire his gun or launch a Junk Bomb while transformed. Attempting to use Power Vac while in this form will instead use Street Sweep, a niche utility option that allows Otto to clean specific grounded hazards, such as the oil slicks created by some of Martinet's alternate equipment, which will contribute to the Junk Gauge just like sucking in a projectile would. While cleaning though, Otto moves slower than his basic walking speed, and will overheat the same engine as his power vac, but at a much slower rate. The main appeal of Street Mode though is to use it to traverse the map more efficiently, getting in and out of fights faster so you can provide your team the utility you provide.
For specialized messes, Otto has a few alternate tools for the job. Starting with his alternate firearms, first is the Back-Alley Broom, a shady fully automatic weapon that fires a few pellets in rapid fire, trading out burst damage for sustained fire. On the other end is the Street Slugger, a meatier shotgun that fires heavy-duty slugs, which are single projectiles that bypass damage resistance effects.
Street Mode also has a couple modifications which vary the functionality of its extra utility. The Razor Rider trades the street sweeping fans for razor blades that rapidly damage nearby enemies, and build up the junk gauge by doing so, but heats up faster and at the cost of the basic movement being reduced. The Nitro Sweeper meanwhile gives you the option to instead use the Junk Gauge as a fuel source, giving you massive bursts of forward speed when used.
Finally, the Power Vac has several unique variations, all of which additionally change the Junk Gauge's function. First is the Lawn Guster, an inverted tool that blows projectiles away with dramatic bursts of air rather than sucking them in, filling the gauge by dealing damage with the reflected projectiles, allowing you to fire a piercing Junk Missile that does bonus damage to buildings and barricades. The sneaky Pocket Cleaner is a nuisance and a utility at the same time, capable of draining enemy ammo by aiming the vac's stream at them to fill both your own ammo and the junk gauge, which can be used to fire a Recyclo Bomb that restores a heavy chunk of health and ammo to allies in its blast. Finally is the Ultra Vac, a vacuum so formidable its very suction pulls in and damages enemies gradually, which can be overclocked with a full Junk Gauge to increase the size and power of its area of effect.
On the behind-the-scenes side of things, I knew I had to have some kind of bot with a vehicle mode mechanic just about from the start, but Otto went through a few more generic iterations before I settled on the one-two combo of a vacuum cleaner and shotgun. He was originally a much more generic tank character with a simple barrier that changed shape between modes, but he felt "too Overwatch" without much of an identity. I then realized the potential value of an off-tank style character for the Utility role rather than an outright tank, inspired by how Pyro fills that sort of niche in TF2. The key thing then was to have a more "small scale" defensive ability, and while obviously in terms of mechanics the vacuum is functionally fairly identical to D.va's Defense Matrix, the overall idea was more inspired by the Ink Vac from Splatoon 3, including the additional purpose of absorbing attacks being to charge up a powerful explosion. Some other mechanics of the Ink Vac, like its ability to absorb ink directly from players or its status as an ultimate-scale ability, were worked into the alternate variants, while the Lawn Guster is straight up just Pyro's Airblast but with a different ammo system. Eventually this became the core of the character while the vehicle gimmick was kind of left as an afterthought, so it may be something I go back to. I do like the whole street sweeping ability, even if more for flavor than function. I can't imagine there's going to be too many "grounded hazard" abilities in the game, and I don't know if having such a specific hard counter to them is necessarily an exciting interaction, but it's cute so I'm sticking to it for now. The specific nature of the vehicle mode was specifically inspired by Gamma and their super fun "running" animation in Adventure and Battle, and the idea of a character who fluidly went back and forth between shooting and rolling as mutually exclusive actions is a fun visual I've wanted to stick with for a while. If it wasn't obvious, that inspiration seeped into the final design, along with hints of Omega sneaking in too. Still not sure how exactly the transformation works, that's always a tricky thing to design for with just a first draft, but I may sketch out a basic breakdown sooner than later. The shotgun was mostly due to the lack of a basic shotgun user in the cast otherwise, but also was based on a unique gun my more firearm-inclined friend brought up in passing that's, get this: a shotgun often called "the Street Sweeper". It all clicked from there, plus informed this being a more grounded, urban sort of character. I also just like the idea of this big bot with a mundane job being one of the friendliest characters in the cast, he's just happy to be helpful and appreciates the simple things. He's very much a personality I think would be fun to see clash with some of the others.
But yeah, it's Otto at long last! The first cast of 15 is finally shown off, even if out of order. In my head he's more of a foundational member of the cast than his proper reveal timing would imply, compared to Nekross who's a much more experimental character and not as essential in terms of the overall "ecosystem" of the cast. In a version of the game with only 15 characters, Otto's getting in first.
But past those first 15, next up is a much more organic-themed character to clash with the urban Otto. Gotta get some bees to suck up somehow.

BERLIN, April 15 (Reuters) - Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab is laying off more than 10% of its global workforce, an internal memo seen by Reuters on Monday shows, as it grapples with falling sales and an intensifying price war for electric vehicles (EVs).
"About every five years, we need to reorganize and streamline the company for the next phase of growth," CEO Elon Musk commented in a post on X. Two senior leaders, battery development chief Drew Baglino and vice president for public policy Rohan Patel, also announced their departures, drawing posts of thanks from Musk although some investors were concerned.
Musk last announced a round of job cuts in 2022, after telling executives he had a "super bad feeling" about the economy. Still, Tesla headcount has risen from around 100,000 in late 2021 to over 140,000 in late 2023, according to filings with U.S. regulators.
Baglino was a Tesla veteran and one of four members, along with Musk, of the leadership team listed on the company's investor relations website.
Scott Acheychek, CEO of Rex Shares - which manages ETFs with high exposure to Tesla stock - described the headcount reductions as strategic, but Michael Ashley Schulman, chief investment officer at Running Point Capital Advisors, deemed the departures of the senior executives as "the larger negative signal today" that Tesla's growth was in trouble.
Less than a year ago, Tesla's chief financial officer, Zach Kirkhorn, left the company, fueling concerns about succession planning.
Tesla shares closed 5.6% lower at $161.48 on Monday. Shares of EV makers Rivian Automotive (RIVN.O), opens new tab, Lucid Group (LCID.O), opens new tab and VinFast Auto also dropped between 2.4% and 9.4%.
"As we prepare the company for our next phase of growth, it is extremely important to look at every aspect of the company for cost reductions and increasing productivity," Musk said in the memo sent to all staff.
"As part of this effort, we have done a thorough review of the organization and made the difficult decision to reduce our headcount by more than 10% globally," it said.
Reuters saw an email sent to at least three U.S. employees notifying them their dismissal was effective immediately.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
MASS MARKET
The layoffs follow an exclusive Reuters report on April 5 that Tesla had cancelled a long-promised inexpensive car, expected to cost $25,000, that investors have been counting on to drive mass-market growth. Musk had said the car, known as the Model 2, would start production in late 2025.
Shortly after the story published, Musk posted "Reuters is lying" on his social media site X, without detailing any inaccuracies. He has not commented on the car since, leaving investors and analysts to speculate on its future.
Tech publication Electrek, which first reported, opens new tab the latest job cuts, said on Monday that the inexpensive car project had been defunded and that many people working on it had been laid off.
Reuters also reported on April 5 that Tesla would shift its focus to self-driving robotaxis built on the same small-car platform. Musk posted on X that evening: "Tesla Robotaxi unveil on 8/8," with no further details.
Tesla could be years away from releasing a fully autonomous vehicle with regulatory approval, according to experts in self-driving cars and regulation.
Tesla shares have fallen about 33% so far this year, underperforming legacy automakers such as Toyota Motor (7203.T), opens new tab and General Motors (GM.N), opens new tab, whose shares have rallied 45% and about 20% respectively.

WORKS COUNCIL
A newly elected works council of labour representatives at Tesla's German plant was not informed or consulted ahead of the announcement to staff, said Dirk Schulze, head of the IG Metall union in the region.
"It is the legal obligation of management not only to inform the works council but to consult with it on how jobs can be secured," Schulze said.
Analysts from Gartner and Hargreaves Lansdown said the cuts were a sign of cost pressures as the carmaker invests in new models and artificial intelligence.
Tesla reported this month that its global vehicle deliveries in the first quarter fell for the first time in nearly four years, as price cuts failed to stir demand.
The EV maker has been slow to refresh its aging models as high interest rates have sapped consumer appetite for big-ticket items, while rivals in China, the world's largest auto market, are rolling out cheaper models.
China's BYD (002594.SZ), opens new tab briefly overtook the U.S. company as the world's largest EV maker in the fourth quarter, and new entrant Xiaomi (1810.HK), opens new tab has garnered substantial positive press.

Tesla recorded a gross profit margin of 17.6% in the fourth quarter, the lowest in more than four years.

‘Recently witnessed a 30 rd. mag dump shoot-off between a pair of full auto and binary trigger operators. ‘Binary trigger won out. Do you have any knowledge and/or preferences in any particular binary model or brand?
Thank you for asking. I do not have any experience with binary triggers beyond using my buddy's AR15 and 10/22's with them installed. I know both were Franklin Armory, I do not know what models. I shot him a message so I can follow this back up with those models later. With that said they were fun to shoot, the select fire on them worked great in each mode as one would hope. I often see people compare binary triggers to, and with bump stocks, there is no comparison. I am from a pre-bump stock time, our bump fire device was a belt loop on our jeans, but I digress. There is no comparison between the two. Bump firing has a learning curve where as binary triggers have none. Bump firing, in every form I have ever seen it done or done it in makes your aimed fire less accurate and your hold on your firearm less than optimal. The binary triggers that I used did not have that failing. You held the rifle just like you would with a stock trigger, for the most part, your manual of arms was the same with the exception of a select fire mode switch added. We shot 20, 30 , and 60 round mags out of the AR and 10, 25, and a 110 round GSG mag that I still kind of want out of the 10/22. There was not one stoppage caused by the trigger sets, I found that quite amazing for the hundreds and hundreds of rounds we put out, often in a rapid pace. Had we been using bump fire, my experience tells me, would would have suffered stoppages due to the erratic pace of the bump fire devices. I hope that helps. Personal side note on my I don't own any: I grew up using bolt actions and lever actions, we only had two semi-auto rifles, an AR7 and a Remington Mohawk 10C, man those were fun shooters. When I joined the Army we were still using M16A1's (Semi-auto and full-auto fire modes.), I would not get an M16A2 (Burst fire Baby!) until late 1992 when I left Fort Bragg. In my opinion Fort Bragg wanted to keep hold of the "full-auto" mode a s long as they could. I rarely used full auto except to burn off ammo, and one time during the Gulf war. In full auto, even the smaller 5.56 climbs off target fast, so I never really thought of it as a real world life fire option. I prefer to make every shot count, M60's, M249's and M240B's were for suppression not M16's. Then came burst fire, The burst cam may be the greatest addition to an AR platform that has ever been created, you got the best of both worlds. Although most of my time in I carried an M21/M1A or an M40 when I did use an M16 variation it was almost always in semi-auto.

Mega Man X7 Part 1
So I know that technically speaking Zero 1 should be next since it came out the year after X6 but y’know what? There’s only 2 X games left, might as well do them sooner rather than later. Besides the Zero series has a much more connected story throughout its games so it’s more fitting to do them all in sequential order without interruptions.
It’s just too bad that we now have to deal with quite possibly one of the worst games ever made
X7′s issues are much more...explicit than X6′s. You can spot them just by looking at it.
Probably the first thing you’ll notice is just how ugly it looks. This is a 2003 PS2 game, this thing came out at the same time as Sonic Heroes and yet it looks like a Dreamcast game, if the character models were completely and utterly inexpressive, the characters animated like actual puppets (and barely at that) and the environments looked as bland and uninspired and murky as fuck. The opening stage is a recreation of X1′s (because X7 came out to celebrate the X series’ 10th anniversary, now where have I seen a similar situation before?), and it just serves to further drive home the point of how despicably low we’ve fallen
So this game wants to be 3D. Well 3D and 2D as well, with different sections in each level. Barring Legends, which was 3D but kinda cheated by having a different gameplay style altogether, this is technically the first....and only time a traditional Mega Man game has ever been translated into 3D.
You may already spot the main issues, like the camera being stuck in this pseudo bird’s eye view half the time while also being stuck to your ass, making it damn awkward to see where you’re going during 3D sections, especially when platforming is involved.
Another big issue that you wouldn’t notice unless you were playing this is the controls: the characters feel sluggish, slow, they have little sense of fluidity, 3D sections, with their extra spacious design, pretty much require you to dash jump all over the place if you intend of moving at a pace that’s greater than that of entropy and wall jumping feels awkward as hell with the characters jumping way too far away from the wall and the camera moving alongside them even in the 2D sections
The game has an auto lock on, because the devs must have figured that it would be needed in a 3D space and it is, but this also means that Mega Man’s trademark gameplay style of taking aim and firing is neutered since now you can just spam a button indisciminately and stuff will die. They won’t die immediately  because enemies like to be tanky and you can get knocked on your ass by stuff like explosions, which does WONDERS for this game’s pacing but hey.
Word of advice: go to the options and turn on rapid fire. Trust me you’ll see later why you’d wanna do this
Anothe thing you may have noticed is the voice acting
MM8 and X4 are infamous for their voice acting but y’know what? They were somewhat charming in a “so bad it’s funny” kind of way, plus I could count the voiced cutscenes on one hand
X7′s can get funny in a memey sort of way but mostly it’s fucking ear-grating
Zero sounds half decent but the direction they gave the actor makes him sound like he’s changed his mind about coming back to life and now just wants to gp back to the void
Signas is voiced by Robert Belgrade, the man who voiced Alucard in Symphony of The Night, probably the only voice actor in that game who put any kind of genuine effort (besides Dracula’s in his own way). Here though he sounds completely zoned out, like he’s here fot the check and nothing else
Alia sounds like a timid teenage girl
Axl sounds like every annoying shonen kid stereotype all rolled up into one
And X
Ooooh X....
So unlike what my previous criticisms of Zero becoming the de facto protagonist of the series for a while (and my profile picture) may have suggested I actually don’t have a lot of love for X aside from his design.
The series has just never done anything of substance with his concept of being the first robot capable of true free will, and due to his general lack of dialogue and interesting story beats when compared to Zero he just doesn’t amount to much kre than “angsty Mega Man”, like he’s exactly like Rock except you swap out his childlike optimism and drive with lots of angst and doubt. On paper this should be enough to make X different enough but in practice, like I said, the execution has simply never been there.
Theoretically a story where X decides to no longer fight the good fight because he can’t take it any longer would be great; not only is it very human but it also showcases X’s ability to make his own choices in a negative way by having him make a bad decision. It’s a far more interesting idea than simply having him go evil as was the original idea behind the Zero series....which actually ended up having X also retire from fighting out of sheer mental exhaustion before X7 was even a thing.
However what we get here is one of the worst cases of flanderizaton I have ever seen
In past games X would have usually only 1 brief (BRIEF) moment where he laments that he has to once again take up arms and fight to save the world. He’s a pacifist at heart so it makes sense.
X7 makes it X’s entire personality. And in the whiniest, most hateable way possible. And I don’t mean Shinji Ikari kind of whiny.
He just stands there at HQ doing fuck all all day (as far as we can see at least), criticizing others for using violence to deal with dangerous criminals, while not coming up with a better alternative and just being a douchebag overall. He sounds like your average Twitter user who rants about the injustices of the world and how other people are shit for not doing anything about them while they themselves are just sitting there typing at a keyboard from their mother’s basement.
That moment when he tells Red that if he wants Axl back he can have him because he has no intention of fighting for the likes of him is fucking putrid. He’s literally saying that he’s A-OK with handing over a kid, even if a troubled and irresponsible one, to a criminal organization just because “fighting bad”.
It’s pretty funny. Inafune has long left the series and you can tell because Zero is no longer the center of the universe, but now this new dev team want to impose ANOTHER main character in the form of Axl and X is treated worse than ever.
And we’re just getting started

En Garde! Quick Review

En Garde! gives us Adalia the sword swinging bisexual icon as the protagonist for a rather short but well condensed sword fighting game. It is a perfect swashbuckler game with rapid fire jokes, banter and fun paired with amazing voice acting from the cast. It is really a brilliant display of how great a small cast, amount of original models, and run time can do with really amazing presentation, soundtrack, animation, voice acting and gameplay.
Adalia and Zaida are really really cute and adorable and I love them and to me it's very explicitly gay but there is no kiss, no decoration of them being in a relationship even if it's heavily implied that they have at least dated in the past if not in the present. Like for me, I would have liked a kiss, just one little kiss in the end. Zoro gets to kiss the girl in the end, why not Adalia and her hot pirate GF. Still Adalia got a unique animation just for being gay for Zaida and for me that worked for the run time and fun of this game.
The gameplay is smooth with it feeling amazing on a gamepad, I played with auto perry on because my brain is bad and I have terrible reaction times but trying to manual perry it still felt good it just felt like I was being taken out of the fantasy of the game and more into I am playing a game trying to overcome my physical limits so switching on auto perry felt like I was the amazing swashbuckler the game wanted me to feel like and I still sometimes wiped out and lost a fight so it did not remove the challenge or even reaction times all together with how the mechanics go by the end of the game.
The mechanics do a nice job of adding a little more and more as you go on and applying things in fun ways all the way into the end thanks to that short length and fun loop. I could defiantly see myself picking this game back up to just play the arena mode or replaying trying to find all the hidden bits of content or get a better run time.
Overall, I really loved this game and I recommend it. It really feels like a game that wants you to replay it, it wants to be a cotton candy game that just gives you fun for a few hours whenever you just wanna take your mind off shit. Check it out.

The new 2022 MG4 is a wake up call for electric car makers.  (..)  This is British brand MG’s ‘ID.’ moment. While the Chinese-owned firm has dabbled with EVs in the past – including the impressive affordable ZS crossover and MG5 estate – this MG4 family hatchback is where the company’s push with its next generation of models really begins. That’s why, in almost every sense, you can see parallels with Volkswagen’s ID.3 – hence this being a crucial car for MG. For a start, both models are competing in the same sector and aiming for the same buyers: everyone from city dwellers to families who might use the MG4 as a second car, as well as company car drivers keen to cut their Benefit-in-Kind tax bill. There are even more similarities when you analyse the key figures. The MG4 EV is based on an all-new platform for the brand, called MSP, which stands for Modular Scalable Platform. Like the ID.3, it employs a rear-mounted motor producing 200bhp, which is fed by a 64kWh battery in this top-spec Trophy Long Range version for a claimed range of 270 miles. Opt for the more affordable SE Long Range and this increases to 281 miles. Meanwhile, all MG4s have 150kW rapid charging, so a 10-80 per cent top-up for the bigger battery takes 35 minutes. Use a 7kW home wallbox and it’ll take nine hours to fully replenish. As Nicola Hume finds out, the MG4 is a credible EV competitor, irrespective of the low asking price(..).
P.S.  Volkswagen's engineers, accountants, shareholders and labor union need to go home and rethink a bit about how VW builds electric cars and why they are so overpriced...Electric cars actually have far fewer mechanical parts than ICE vehicles, and many manufacturing processes can be automated and assembly labor reduced. It's increasingly starting to look like legacy automakers whining about the cost of producing electric cars and the endless justifications for high prices are complete bullshit...
