I'm late to the Babylon Berlin party but man it started so well and I am now deep into season four and watching a bad soap opera. Why is no one trying to tell Helga, recently married to the richest man in Germany, that her son has been arrested? Is it because of the forcefield that prevents rich people from hiring bodyguards after someone breaks into their castle in the middle of the night to threaten them over stolen jewelry? The resolution of both the mobster polyamory AND occultist psychiatrist plotlines have been extremely unsatisfying and I don't say that lightly. Lottie has me in her grip and she's not letting go so I'm on this ride till it ends or she dies but this show used to be good! She deserves better.

#the first two seasons are amazing #if so excruciating to watch i had to go relatively slowly #the third is half a very good show half a silly but fun soap opera about mobster polyamory #the fourth... is simply bad #they fumbled the ball so badly with the teenaged characters #especially toni #babylon berlin spoilers #but like damn how do you do so well with charlotte #a character of all time #and then fuck up her sister so badly?
