ngl Liv, my will NOT to rewatch fringe is getting weaker by the hour at this point. im still gonna try and wait until the summer myself before giving in because im working on so many different stories in different fandoms and p/o is gonna come bite me in the ass, not to mention how olivia will consume my entire soul, but im gonna embrace it all for sure 😭😭😭

I just love those two so, so, so very much!!!! Their friendship is everything!!

Also: I recently finished a protracted rewatch of season 1 with @thelaithlyworm, @jazzfic, and @regionalpancake, and I think we all came away from it with just an overwhelming "HOLY SHIT, season 1 is SO GOOD?????" Especially because all of these characters and their incrdible relationships.

Rios and Seven's friendship? YES! Raffi and Elnor? I NEED MORE OF THIS! Agnes and Soji? I WANT TO READ MORE OF THEIR CONVERSATIONS!!!

They're all just so utterly amazing in their own right and when they get together it's magical!

So I'm incredibly glad I could spread a little bit of the positive emotions 💗

Because this show meant and means SO MUCH to me, and I hope we can all continue to celebrate it together.

Summary: Something is different about B'Elanna and Seven, after their adventure on the surface of the planet Monorha.

B’Elanna turns back to the console and resumes entering command into it with grim determination. Harry watches her in silence, once again unsure what to do. There is clearly something bothering B’Elanna, there’s no doubt about it now, and it’s deeper than he thought.

I wrote this for @beautyofsorrow in the Rare Femslash Exchange. It's my B'Elanna/Seven take on the repercussions of the events of the novel “String Theory - Cohesion”, with a generous helping of established Kim/Paris/Torres, some wacky holodeck shenanigans, late night Mess Hall conversations, jefferies tube crawling (because of course) and Seven and B'Elanna having to confront the fact that they truly have been in the same Borg collective of two, and things can never be the same after that. I hope you'll enjoy it! (I tried to make this fic understandable even without having read the novel, but any feedback on this is appreciated!)

WIP Folder Game

I wasn't actually tagged, but I saw this on @beautyofsorrow's blog and just... couldn't resist.

top 10 books? and top 5 beverages to drink while reading said books?

I’m going to go with things that I really enjoyed or that really had an impact on me at the time and not worry about if they held up or if I would feel the same now. They aren’t in any particular order. Also, I might have to cheat and throw in series or trilogies instead of choosing just one… 

1. The Thrawn Trilogy (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command), by Timothy Zahn. I LOVED these. They took everything I loved about Star Wars, but with more thought and consistency and less plot holes. 

2. Harry Potter, by J.K. Rowling. I love The Prisoner of Azkaban best, but they are all fantastic. I can’t wait to read them with my daughter. 

3. The Expanse series, by James S.A. Corey. Great tv show, great book series. I haven’t finished them, because I don’t have enough free time, but very much enjoying them. 

4. Backlash, by Susan Faludi. It’s kind of out of date, but also kind of eternally relevant. Astounding take-down of anti-feminist cultural forces in the 80s and 90s. 

5. The Spiral Staircase: My Climb out of Darkness, by Karen Armstrong. Astounding memoir of one woman’s spiritual journey. The devastating failures she experienced and her struggle to understand the ways in which people have hurt her (even unknowingly or unintentionally) really resonated. 

6. The Fifth Season, by N.K. Jemisin. FUCK IT’S GOOD. IT’S SO GOOD. GO READ IT. Seriously guys. SERIOUSLY. Everything that scifi and fantasy can ever aspire to be. Fantastic world-building, compelling story, and excels at my favorite thing to see in scifi - using an alien world to say something about humanity. 

7. Star Trek: Dark Passions, by Susan Wright. A Mirror Universe series (two books) that is all about the ladies, with all the gayness and none of the sexual violence. There were an absolute DELIGHT. 

8. Jurassic Park, by Michael Crichton. I fucking LOVED this when I was in, like, the fourth grade. I read it so many times, it feel apart. I still have my same copy, with masking tape holding the binding together. 

9. The Dark Tower series, by Stephen King. Kind of uneven, but a lot of fun. And for the record, the music video for Muse’s Knights of Cydonia better captures the aesthetic of this series better than anything else, including the actual Dark Tower movie. 

10. The Handmaid’s Tale, by Margaret Atwood. This book fucked me up. Only becomes more terrifying as time goes on. 

And as to beverages, I don’t know how often I actually drink anything while I read, BUT the beverages that would be good to drink while reading, would be comforting drinks. You can’t just drink a coke or some water! You need something comforting.

Since I was talking recently about the ways in which I think “Infinite Regress” fails B'Elanna, I definitely recommend reading “progression” by @beautyofsorrow. It's an episode aftermath/fix-it fic which I think does a very good job of giving voice to B'Elanna's much-neglected emotional needs, with a bittersweet B7 slant to it.
