What advice would you give to an aspiring henchperson?
now to be fair this is a bit of an armchair analysis thing since I'm currently between villains. (optimistic about my next interview though. I can't disclose too much but I might finally get to work with tractor beams.)
the main things I'd suggest are:
figure out what you're best at, and zero in on it! are you a schemer constantly out to usurp your employer, but too useful to kill? focus on muttering darkly and keeping a list of good betrayal opportunities. more of a bruiser with a hidden intellectual streak? hit the gym, but make time for reading and theatre as well! the important thing is that you have a clear view of yourself, your goals, and how they relate to your employer's needs. if you're a mad scientist working for an evil businessman, you're only wasting your time if you learn to wield ordinary small arms instead of lasers that transmute stone into gold or cannons that shoot mutagenic goo.
be a team player! if you were a lone wolf, you wouldn't be getting into henching - you'd be going independent. remember, your employer's other 2-4 major henchfolk are there to provide comedic/dramatic contrast and to let you do that thing where each of you fights a different one of the protagonists at the same time, and at first you're winning, but then they switch who's fighting whom and turn the tables. as for the nameless and disposable minions, they're your minions too! any decent supervillain will be eager to give you a squad or two to command and re-theme to better match your whole deal.
you gotta be gay! self-explanatory.

Have you ever watched that one feature-length Mega Man fan film? I think it might've been the same people that did the Sonic short film?
i actually watched it like right after it premiered on screwattack back in the day, having rewatched the original proof of concept video a bunch of times on youtube. i was genuinely hyped for it
i haven't rewatched it since then so i couldn't give in-depth thoughts on it, but it was... okay? not crazy about the costume design, and i remember it spending a very long time on the setup and then rushing through all the robot master fights at the end because it was easier for them to do dialogue scenes in a house than to do cgi fight scenes. i also remember not being particularly impressed with the acting, but thinking that the guy who played wily stood out. but idk. for a no-budget fan film it was a good effort

Hi, I'm latino but was raised by my white mom. While she did a lot more than most white moms in her place would have to help me connect with my father's culture, I still feel a sense of disconnect. Where are some good places to learn about latin american history, and more specifically Colombian history? I've wanted to learn more but I feel like any mainstream source is likely to be written by a biased white person. I can't speak or read spanish, but I'm willing to learn, so go ahead and throw in stuff written in spanish if you feel there aren't any good english resources.
i cannot recommend eduardo galeano's open veins of latin america strongly enough. it's about latin america as a whole from the colonial era to the mid 20th century and it's incredibly powerful--written in an emotive and passionate prose voice, fiercely and articulately furious at the injustices of imperialism. definitely helped me contextualise my own life and politics within the broader history of latin american class struggle. i also recommend garcia marquez' one hundred years of solitude, which is a novel not a history book but is v. deeply commenting on and allegorising colombian culture and history

I really enjoyed the stream you and Holly did last night! You seem very interested in Shenmue, so I wanted to share fun information about it: Shenmue was made to be a seven-part saga. This was cut down to six parts because Sega told Yu Suzuki they needed to cut the game between Shenmue 1 and 2 that would've taken place entirely on a boat. After the dreamcast died, Shenmue was put on indefinite hold until Yu Suzuki was able to get the rights to produce the rest of the series independantly. Shenmue 3 was released in 2018, over 15 years later. It is not a conclusion, it is just Chapter 3 of 6. AFAIK Shenmue 4 is still in development.
oh yeah me knowing a decent amount about the history & production of shenmue is in large part WHY i'm so interested in it. knowing that yu suzuki held equal parts determination to see this story through AND determination to seemingly not change a single thing about his vision or approach despite the years of wait between entries and developments in the games industry is. just fascinating. it's one of those things i just wanna pick up and chew on for a while in the hopes of, if not understanding it, perhaps coming closer to doing so, you know?

At the risk of potentially asking about spoilers, what were the voice clips in the various versions of Javis' theme from?
Fittingly, they're mostly from random old VHS rips. I know a couple of them, but I'll leave it up to Bee whether or not she spells out what they are - part of the fun is seeing if people recognize any of them

The big theme park goal Eggman had throughout the 00s (although it's probably also mentioned in 90s stuff) makes me wonder if Eggman would be a theme park guy. Would Eggman watch defunctland for ideas?
Eggman would leave angry comments on every Defunctland video that discusses Walt Disney because Kevin frames being a megalomaniac as a bad thing
Eggman would take a page from the book of his personal hero, Michael Eisner, and build his most dastardly death trap yet... Superstar Limo Zone

I've been meaning to tell you this for the last couple weeks but holy shit I can't believe I found another person who watched Super Mario 64 Bloopers on early youtube as a kid. Mama Fucker.
yeah!! i don't exactly remember how i found out about them, though it's probably as simple as me trying to look up mario 64 videos. i started with megaman765's videos, then learned about fleskhjertas stuff at some point after that. i remember exposing my friend in 4th grade to mario 64 bloopers when i spent the night at his house one time.
#ask#biggerchallenge#thank you for the ask :)#i think i really got into them because like. prior one of my friends introduced me to 'Stickmen on Crack' and Pivot#and they have the same kinda formula as mario 64 bloopers... or moreso its like 'random skit - tv static - another random skit'#i remember coming home and like telling my family about Stickmen on Crack and my brother was like 'do you even know what crack is?'#and i was like 'oh yeah man. like. a crack in the ground. cause its random humor right.'#i had no knowledge of what drugs were at that time i dont think#similarly i found roblox bloopers in a different way#as a kid i fucking loved watching like. stop motion lego stuff#and i remember like just going through pages and pages of lego search results#and then randomly a fucking roblox video is suggested and that was my first exposure to roblox#also hey. if you can help me out with something (anyone really)#theres this OLD video from like. 2006-2007 that had the same formula as roblox bloopers n other shit#i remember a handful of memories from this exact video#but one thing *i think* i remember correctly is that their character had a lugia t-shirt and. maybe. that classic red roblox hat#listen ik thats stupid as hell but its fun to just find old shit you remember#ive searched google from 2006-2007 and combed every video and i cant seem to find the one that im looking for#so. there is a possibility the dude just removed the video from youtube and was never heard from again#idk!#ive been doing a lot of personal archiving of old roblox levels i use to visit#most of them seem to be are92's levels#sorry for the long tags#this is how my brain is girls!!!

Fallout (Hard mode: bethesda fallout)
In Fallout 4, I remember wandering around downtown Boston and coming across a big-ass sign for some energy or gas company - I want to say Poseidon Energy - in a very prominent spot. And I immediately went "oh holy shit, they put The Really Big Citgo Sign in Fallout, what a delightful pull!" Same goes for Fallon's Basement. I always love little touches like that, where a real-world landmark that isn't super-well-known shows up in the fictionalized version of a location.
Another Fallout 4 moment I really enjoyed: the series of holotapes you find which are basically a children's radio show about squirrels... with the moral "TRUST NO FOREIGNER THEY ARE ALL COMMUNIST MOTHERFUCKERS AND WILL SHIV YOU." imo it's a much more chilling and visceral Pre-War United States Moment than any number of fucked up torture vaults, because it's a reminder that this shit was systemic and they were actively encouraging children to be just as xenophobic and paranoid.

My friends got me into Lego Fortnite, and I was thinking of getting the Battlepass so I could get my hands on the buff tiger man skin. Are there any creators out there you would suggest inputting for the creator code?
honestly i don't have any creators i use codes for myself. i am in my own little bubble. i'm not really following any Fortnite Content Creators, i'm just playing with my friends and looking at nice drawings of meow skulls
also yes the buff tiger man skin is very good ( <- predictable )

Hi! I'm getting towards the end of the game. Does SLARPG have a postgame where I can finish off remaining quests and such?
Nope! But you're warned at the point of no return.
