Bishkek is for me one of the most beautiful cities in Central Asia, and it's on my Top 3 to visit someday... Its history, its architecture... Its everything!! Definitely a place to visit someday ❤️ 🇰🇬
My university name is the "International University of Kyrgyzstan". Located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
I've been here since March 2018 and you guys have been a huge part of my life. thank you for being there for me and making this the best time of my life.
It's been a great 5 years of memories and friendships at this university. I hope we won't forget to come back to our university after several years.
Hopefully, we can all be together again at our university soon.
Farewell to my university life. Hope we will keep in touch and reminisce all the memories.
To my university and my friends, thanks for the memories.
It's October 23rd, 🐆 World Snow Leopard Day! On this day in 2013, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the Global Forum on the Conservation of the Snow Leopard adopted the landmark Bishkek Declaration on the Conservation of the Snow Leopard, which acknowledged the snow leopard's status as an irreplaceable symbol of its members' natural and cultural heritage and as an indicator of the health and sustainability of their mountain ecosystems.
The snow leopard is under threat throughout its range in Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan due to climate change, shrinking habitats, declining prey populations, and poaching.
In the last few years, though, the international community has been making significant progress in the fight to preserve this elusive mountain cat along with its habitat. Conservationists are focusing much of their effort on raising awareness through education. It's crucial that their efforts be intensified in the coming decade, as the big cat’s fate may indeed be decided by our generation. Please join them in their commitment to protecting this fascinating, stunning creature. ☮️ Peace… Jamiese of Pixoplanet
We flew to Bishkek, leaving Istanbul at 1 AM. So we saw the sunrising ahead of the plane. As we approached Bishkek we had rows of mountains on the right of the plane, the Tian Shan range.
Closer to town the plains below us had streams coming down from the mountains which were routed into channels and ponds for irrigation and the whole area was fields.
I arrived in Bishkek about 9 in the morning. Too early to check into the hotel, so I dropped off my bags and went for a walk.
A coffee shop was the first stop for a flat white and a strawberry tart made with the tiny strawberries the French call fraises de bois. How could I pass that up?
Then over to the Osh Bazaar, an open air market. There were lots of stalls selling clothes and such but I pushed on to the center where the produce market was. Actually it wasn't a lot of regular produce. There was a large area selling herbs and spices. I tried using Google translate to find out what some were. But Google "translated" them into words unknown to me. I suspect there are some local herbs I don't know, but there was nothing I recognized, so I tried it on raisins and same thing. So it wasn't working.
There were venders of flours and mixes of grains and beans. (Soup?)
The other large area was selling nuts, dried fruits and such.
It was tempting to buy some, but I hadn't changed money yet, and I didn't need anything.
But then I found the venders with small strawberries, so I needed a small bowl of those. It was time to change some money anyway.
For 50 Som ($ 0.62) I got a small bowl, all I needed.
The Tai Shan mountains are just outside of town and very visible.
You can tell that this was a part of the Soviet Union, its got the absolutely dreadful apartment buildings. They wanted to build enough buildings for everyone, and didn't have a lot of money, and put up really terrible buildings that haven't aged well. People apparently own their individual apartments but the government owns the building. So when windows need replacing or the facade of the apartment needs repair, everyone does their own thing, so windows don't match and the facade changes from apartment to apartment, some well done, many not. There aren't that many of them here, but they are around.
There are also a number of apartment buildings that are in various stages of incomplete. I will have to ask if there was a particular economic event of just a general lack of getting the financing lined up before starting.
Tonight I meet up with the rest of the group. I should be interesting.
Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, two central Asian countries with similar names and tricky spellings but different sizes, locations, and shapes, are swimming in the aquarium. They both look like fish.
Jordan Ventocia and Mollie Viesta from The Loud House visit the Royal Woods Aquarium (or they might have used a portal to travel through a different dimension) only to spot seeing two fish that looks exactly like the Asian countries Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan from Country Shape Toons: The Sovereign State Adventures.
Jordan wants Kyrgyzstan when Mollie wants Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, knowing Jordan and Mollie adores them and wants them as pets, would like to be with them because of the girls' offerings, but the fish countries say this is their home.
Jordan Ventocia: I want the Kyrgyzstan fish! Ooh, lookie, he's smiling at me and looking at me!
Mollie Viesta: I want the Kazakhstan fish, it's cute! And it's looking and smiling at me, too!
Capital of Kazakhstan is Nur-Sultan. Capital of Kyrgyzstan is Bishkek.
Girl Jordan and Mollie belongs to The Loud House, created by Chris Savino (sadly fired). (C) Nickelodeon, on behalf of Paramount Global. Country Shape Toons: The Sovereign State Adventures is my own work. Blanding Cassatt is my company and stage name. Sintopia is my signature that will be a TV channel for kids in the future.
