Those stupid reading challenges make a bit more sense if you remember that some ppl only read for quantity not quality. Goodreads literally has a reading challenge feature where you can decide to set a goal to read X amount of books in a year, I've seen some people have that challenge set between 100-300. Since Goodreads and all those book-fluencer also seem to be found on the same social medias: Youtube, tiktok, etc it kinda makes sense that some people honestly have no idea you can read based on quality and enjoyment, not to reach a certain challenge.

Personal mini side condescension: Maybe also the reason why so many books with meh-quality writing are so popular. You need to use less brain power to actually think about what you're reading because it's all so on the nose. So many books just feel the same no matter who writes them.

Now, be fair, I'm sure everyone does, at least in their own mind, have standards.

But yes, the desire for a quick beach read is exactly why a lot of books are un-challenging. Sometimes, this is good. Sometimes, it is not. I prefer it when readers know they're looking for that and aren't insecure about it.

I feel like I run the risk of sanitizing myself so I don’t get publicly flayed by Tiktok book-fluencers hangings their jaws at my grim expressions of moral untidiness. That, or I hang myself on the gallows of Aristotlean plot structure. I make a beginning, a middle, an end, and truth goes to die. A hero’s journey where I overcome internal evils by fictionalizing myself: what terrible boredom. It’s not even interesting as wish fulfillment. Who wants to spend hours watching the world’s most unsympathetic paint dry into a kind-of-okay Vitruvian Man dupe with a cartoon maple leaf covering the genitalia? It’s toothless. There’s just nothing there.

ahhh thank you for asking about this one, jes and all!!

puckbunny geno sprang from me listening to ‘money honey’ by lady gaga too many times, and @beggingwolf being an enabler (affectionate) as we forlornly discussed geno’s absence from instagram.

SO. the concept here is, geno’s in the US working as a personal trainer at a gym, and he starts a youtube channel for simple at-home workout routines! a common, basic concept, except with the special twist of him being a gigantic, handsome, very openly gay russian. he gets a few local sponsorships, enough to upgrade his recording setup but not enough to make any real money.

ALL THAT CHANGES when someone from biosteel runs across his insta and they start sponsoring him, including flying him up to their hockey training camp where he meets....one tyler seguin, league slut(tm).

tyler and geno hook up and actually get to be really good friends. geno’s gopro-filmed video of his time at biosteel did really well, but it’s the video of tyler as a guest star on his next workout video, demonstrating modifications to the workouts that geno’s doing, that really gets his star on the rise.

youcanplay is absolutely fascinated by him and his potential—a Big Buff Man, that’s gay, but not so gay as to scare off their Big Buff Athletes. geno becomes a partner of theirs, and suddenly athletes from every major sport are collaborating with him. he quits the gym to focus full-time on his insta-fluencer lifestyle, and now fits in developing quality, helpful videos with being flown out to major award shows and other events. sometimes he’s there as youcanplay’s guest, sometimes he’s the guest of an athlete that’s been in his video. after all, what’s more progressive than a Very Straight pro athlete jokingly introducing a Very Gay man as his ‘date’ to an event?

what youcanplay doesn’t know, though, is some of the other perks geno gets from his new friends and acquaintances. his agent has stopped bothering to book him his own hotel room unless he asks. he’s suddenly got a very nice collection of watches (pro athletes are not creative with their gifts, he’s learning). he really is living the dream!

except...his favorite hockey player, superstar sidney crosby, stares at him from across the room whenever they’re together, but won’t talk to him, nothing more than short, clipped one-word answers accompanied by judgmental stares.

well, geno’s used to getting his way at this point. he’s not gonna let a little judgey behavior stop him...

Mrs Hinch reveals the secret product she uses to get her cleaning cloths looking brand new

Mrs Hinch has revealed her secret cloth cleaning hack, using Ace for Whites laundry bleach to keep her Minky looking brand and new working for effectively for longer.

This is something cleaning guru Mrs Hinch, aka Sophie Hinchcliffe, knows all about. On her Instagram stories, she revealed that rather than throwing her beloved Minky away after it gets a bit mucky she’ll give it a good wash.

However, the clean-fluencer has a secret product up her sleeve to get cleaning cloths like the Minky anti-bacterial cleaning pad, looking good as new – Ace for Whites Laundry Bleach.

‘So this morning I needed to clean my kitchen Minky! Look at him!’ she wrote on her Instagram stories – showing a picture of the grubby cloth in question. ‘What do I do? I leave mine in ace for whites for a few hours.’

Mrs Hinch demonstrated how she fills up a plastic bowl with Ace for Whites stain remover. Before leaving the cleaning cloth to soak in it. After a few hours, Mrs Hinch squeezed the cleaning pad and showed that all the stains had disappeared before rinsing with cold water.

‘Back from the garden centre and LOOK… Good as new! I need to rinse him with water too!’ she wrote.

How An Egg Beat Kylie Jenner On Instagram

Instagram is full of people with millions and millions of followers. Of course, the more followers one has, the more likes one gets. In fact, for some years now reality star Kylie Jenner has held the record for having the most liked photo ever on Instagram.

This popular photo is of Kylie’s new born child Stormi holding her finger. At present, Kylie’s photo has over 18 million likes. Unfortunately, it is no longer considered the most popular photo on the internet.

Why is this? Well, basically – an egg beat it. Believe it or not, the photo of an egg posted a few weeks ago has now almost tripled the number of likes that Kylie’s photo has. The account that posted this particular photo is world_record_egg.

At the moment the post has over 53 million likes and the number of followers is over 9.7 million. Of course, it is very likely that these figures will increase in the next few months.

But what else do we know about this topic? Well, just a few more details. For example, did you know that it only took a week for the egg post to beat Kylie Jenner’s photo?

One would think that after reaching the goal of the post with more likes, it would all stop. However, people kept on liking the egg for days after. In fact, the likes are still rolling in to this day.

So, there’s one question we all want to be answered. Who is the person behind this trend? Well, that would be Ishan Goel. Ishan Goel is a 19 year old Indian boy living in the state of Massachusetts.

He is a marketing guru, and the person behind making an egg the most famous thing on the internet. Still, he remains humble about the topic and says he was only the driving force.

In fact, Goel claims that all the credit should go to the chicken that laid the egg.

“I won’t go into too many specifics about the secret sauce, but I can say that I worked to garner attention for the page on Reddit, reached out to media really early on, and told all of the celebrities and influencers in my network to help push it” he explained in an interview.

Egg-Fluencer?

Now, let’s talk about the future of this account. First of all, it is important to understand that the world record egg has become one of the most rapid growing accounts on Instagram.

Evidently, this is something that will call the attention of hundreds of brands. In other words, we could see this account becoming some sort of place for businesses to advertise.

In fact, according to executive director at Pulse Advertising & Talent Management Paulina Paulsen, world egg record could be making quite a lot of money by simply posting content. That is of course, if a brand decides to sponsor it.

“With 5.8m followers and rising, this account suddenly has a huge audience and could instantly begin commanding five-figure sums per post,” she explains.

World Record Egg – GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

Of course, this has been a trend all over the world. So, one would need to be living under a rock not to have heard about it. The news about the egg post travelled across all seven continents, catching the attention of brands, influencers, celebrities, and of course, the Guinness World Book of Records.

But, does this mean that the egg won a place in the renowned book? Well, no. Unfortunately, the egg has not made it into the Guinness World Book of Records. However, it has gained a mention on their official website that you can read clicking here.

Final Thoughts

To be honest, we are just as “eggcited” as everyone else to see what’s going to happen next. And yes, we are confident that something else is coming. As a matter of fact, world record egg has posted a new picture, where we can see the same egg with a small crack.

So, perhaps we’ll be seeing a baby chicken coming out of that egg to break a new record. There is no way to know but to simply follow the account and wait it out!

Don’t sleep…on sleep

An important thing to remember about wellness is that sometimes it’s okay to do absolutely nothing. And who better to share that advice than lounge-loving pups Copper and Lily? When asked what their favorite self-care practice to take part in is, owner Jenny DeZubay definitively said sleep—and lots of it.

The key is to prioritize a full night’s rest (meaning around eight hours for us humans), and if you do end up needing a nap on the weekends instead of tackling that DIY project, so be it. Dogs tune into their bodies, and you should try to do the same.

Rolling through your to-do list every day is something to celebrate, but what Mozzarella (Ella for short), the internet-breaking cutie on the right, wants you to know is that you should also remember to add “do something fun” to that impressive list.

“While Basil is a bit on the lazy side, Ella is the type of dog who needs a job,” Pressman says. “We could go play fetch for an hour, but once she catches her breath, she’s ready for the next thing. This has […] reminded me that even though we may be tired after we finish our 9-5 job, we should always find time to do the things that really move our mind and soul.” Take some notes from Ella and schedule time for that post-work yoga flow or book club if that’s what you love doing—you’ll be happier for it.
