After graduating from a fancy music conservatory, Hinata is struggling to break into the industry. She has a great singing voice, but zero self-confidence and an overwhelming stage fright.

She flubs job after job. Her voice freezes up and she squeaks and stammers and is inevitably dismissed. Each rejection sends her further and further into a pit of despair. :(

A depressing late-night trip to the convenience store leads to her sitting on a park bench and crying miserably. It's a dark and cold night, she is hanging out in a crime-ridden area...you can fill in the blanks. Or maybe not.

"You shouldn't be here so late at night, ya know," says a guy around her age. "It's just not safe. Why are you crying anyway?"

He hands her a cup of ramen and sits next to her....

And I have hit a roadblock here, sorry 🤣

I guess he becomes her confidence coach or something, but it's fuzzy in my head.

Hi Days! I just watched the Kabuki documentary with Ikuta Toma the other day and it was really interesting! I was surprised (and happy) to see Shun Oguri there too! I'm curious though if you've watched/followed other shows of any other Japanese celebrity? I also just finished watching "First Love" with Takeru Sato and Hikari Mitsushima the other day, it was a lovely series ❤️

Hello born!!! The Kabuki documentary was really, really interesting, right???? Finding out about how he was just coasting through being a trainee and realizing one day that everyone (Arashi ahhhh) was debuting except for him, it's like 💔 But he really found his own path!!! And I was also surprised to see Oguri Shun there! Just, like a surprise treat for all the fans??? I had no idea that they were such close friends.

*big sighs* I don't have the time to invest in regularly watching dramas. I do really, really want to watch First Love! Mostly because I want to support Netflix in carrying more Japanese dramas. Also who doesn't love Utada Hikaru.

I am certain that there's others that I don't have listed here, but basically I mostly watched dramas that starred Johnny's idols in the mid-2000s. I was a big Toda Erika, Aragaki Yui, and Shida Mirai fan. By 2008, I was moving onto Taiwanese and Korean fandoms, so like Takeru Satoh? I didn't watch anything with him in it even though he's a big name actor now, he was only just starting to get name recognition in 2008.

I have watched a few current films!! So actually I recently watched Mitsushima Hikari in Tang and Me starring Ninomiya Kazunari. She was so good. The plot of Tang was awful, but everyone's acting was SO HIGH TIER that the film was worth watching. I have high expectations for her in First Love. Also I watched The Fable film series on Netflix starring Okada Junichi, and yes. Yes. One of the best movies I've watched this year.

In terms of current dramas... I saw the first episode of Koi Nante, Honki De Yatte Dousuru No? (Who Needs True Love?) which stars Matsumura Hokuto and Hirose Alice. I really want to watch the rest of this because I think it will help me finish writing my fic "Genghis Khan." But. The Japanese is slightly too difficult for me to understand :( I heard from my friend that Hokuto's sex appeal is to-die-for in this drama. If I can't watch him in Koi Nante, I know that I'll at least get to hear him voice act in Shinkai's Suzume no Tojimari once it hits American theaters.

I also watched the first episode of Silent, which stars Meguro Ren and Kawaguchi Haruna. It comes highly recommended by my friends. It took a ton of brainpower for me to understand the first episode, though. My friends have way better Japanese comprehension than me. It really seems like Matsumura Hokuto and Meguro Ren are names to keep an eye on in Japanese entertainment these days.

My friends also really want me to watch Cherry Magic starring Akaso Eiji and Machida Keita. I feel like I've watched it already because I've seen so many clips of it here on Tumblr haha.

I'm sorry this was a huge response 😓 for a simple check-in. I guess I just summarized and relived several years of Japanese pop culture obsession in the past two hours of writing this out. Thoughts on anything I've written here? :D

New story up!! There's this reverse-trope/anti-tropes list running around (thank u @bornonthebreakofdawn for sharing <3) and I was pretty enamored with the 'really nice guy that hates only you' trope.

We Need Gaara and Shinki in Konoha

I understand that Kawaki had mental issues because of abused childhood and all , so he was handled all wrong by everyone, Naruto included, how much he tries, he is not right person for it Naruto and Sasuke were neglected children ( no one had abused them physically, aside Naruto’s ostracism , he was never abused mentally and physically ), Sasuke would understand Boruto because of “ had it all then the all was taken away “ The right person to understand Kawaki is Gaara because of the similar abused childhood And I can’t believe that in all this , Gaara didn’t appear. It is like back in Sasuke retrieval arc when Sasuke and Naruto clashed , and Naruto couldn’t connect with him , and when they met in Shippuden, Naruto couldn’t understand yet , only after the war , they finally connected and had heart to heart moment. Naruto could connect with Gaara back in Sasuke retrieval arc , only because of being jinchūriki . which they both were. In here, Naruto should have called Gaara to Konoha when it was clear that Kawaki doesn't listen to them, does it remind you all of another loose canon back in Naruto era ? Naruto trying to bond Kawaki about being outcast , is NOT ENOUGH, this is not gonna cut it, Kawaki needs someone like Gaara to talk to .

And there is Shinki , with whom Boruto had a so good dynamics , Shinki may be the right person to sway Kawaki because of their similarities in being orphans adopted by Kages, particular that Melancholy4Angel reminded me of .

SO WE NEED GAARA AND SHINKI IN KONOHA! I am ranting in Tumblr space , hoping to be heard and so please reblog and reply .🙏

You asked me so I'm going to throw the same question back. What's your most fave Naruto ending song? 😁

The ones I love are when the animation studio gets creative! 😁 The openings have be related to the story but they do whatever they want with the endings. Hahaha.

I love this one because the studio made their own Konoha High School AU and animated it. Naruto is a new student who wants to be a gangster and Hinata gives him a confession and he fights lots of people. It's so awesome. It even got made into an OVA. 😍

And this one was the funniest!

Hahaha. WHAT. This was 💯 pure silliness crack fanfic territory. Hinata, Ino, and Sakura singing and Naruto, Guy, and Lee having tears dramatically streaming down their faces. 😂

I also liked Jitensha, the ending song of when Naruto Shippuden temporarily became Hinata Shippuden.

It's funny that this song was during Pain arc. Hinata fighting him and almost dying, and then this starts playing. Some people got mood whiplash, but I liked this one a lot for that same reason. The lyrics are happy/sort of bittersweet. Times are tough, but it's like the song is reassuring us that there will be a happy ending.

I liked this one too. The singing and instrumentals are very appealing to me. Plus it's right after Jitensha. In some omake, Sakura was kind of pouty that Hinata got an ending to herself, and then just a few episodes later, she got her own ending. The studio having a sense of humor. 🤣

Niji no Sora was definitely the most heartwarming of them all.
