my favorite team of the broadway five, team tilda.
Mattea - the sky is blue, water is wet, Mattea’s Matilda is a Gryffindor.
Mimi - oh, the anger in this girl.  She was so intense, so full of hurt and rage.  I’d have a very hard time picking a favorite member of this group, but I was always the most excited to see Mimi.  She let her fury power her to do great things, but god help us all if she’d embraced her parents’ way of life.  Anger was what drove her, and to me, that says Slytherin.
Alexandra - Ali’s Matilda was just the purest little Hufflepuff.  The word I would  use time and again to describe her was “sweet,” and while it’s not terribly descriptive, nothing else would’ve been right.  She was impish and full of mischief, but absolutely no malice or resentment.  She always seemed driven by the desire to help others.
Rileigh - this kid was pure Slytherin, and one of the most fascinating Matildas.  She always seemed to get a nasty pleasure out of punishing and tormenting those who wrong her and the ones she loved, and it made it such a great moment when she finally said, “I think I’ve had enough of revenge.”  Rileigh always put a lot into that moment, and it was always a bit emotional.  In hindsight...what a little genius she was.

The Matilda kids make me feel okay for our future.
(And if you’re going to make a comment about kids having political opinions being brainwashing, save your time and just go fuck yourself.  There’s nothing “political” about recognizing that human beings should be treated as such.)
