ran: The one ya decorated was super pretty too! The flavours of the toppings went well with the cupcake, it was delicious~ I wouldn’t expect anythin’ less from ya!

saki: You’ll make me blush, thank you.

ran: I’m lookin’ forward to the actual event too. There’s so many different toppin’ combos ya can try, so next time ya can make somethin’ different.

saki: Now I’m wondering which toppings I should choose next time.

ran: Nice! Let’s trade cupcakes again next time too!

As for the letterin’, I had Kongou teach me how to do it with icing. But! It’s still packed full of my honest feelings!

saki: Yes, I can tell.

ran: Heheh, I’m glad ya like it. I wanted to see ya face light up like this, so I had to outsmart the others.

saki: Huh? What do you mean by outsmart…?

ran: Cause y’know, everyone’s gonna be decoratin’ and exchangin’ the chocolate cupcakes together. It’s not somethin’ special. That’s why I made that cookie in secret. This puts me one step ahead of the competition, doesn’t it? If ya catch my drift?

saki: R-ran-san…!?

ran: This will be our own little secret, ok? I promise!

kongou: Sorry for the wait. These are prototypes of the chocolate cupcakes we’ll be selling during our event. 

ran: Oh, here they are!

mizuki: Oi Ran, don’t eat them all yourself.

ran: I won’t, I’m not you.

hinata: Let’s see~ I’ll take this one!

mizuki: Hey that’s the biggest one of the lot! Gimmie it!

lico: They’re all the same anyways. But still, make sure you leave some for Heath and I.

mizuki: If you miss out it’s your fault for being too slow.

heath: …I’m ok with just this one.

ran (eating): Hm? Don’t thwese ones twaste different from ya fwirst batch? They’re even tastier!

kongou: I’m glad to hear it. It’s tedious making desserts. Even the smallest change in the amount of an ingredient used, or the temperature you bake them at can change the flavour. Appears this prototype is a success.

lico: Don’t they smell really good?

kongou: That’s because I tried adding some liqueur. It’s very fragrant. 

lico: Oh I see.

hinata: What’s liqueur?

mizuki: Food right?

ran: No no, liqueur is a type of alcohol.

hinata: Huh, it’s alcohol then?

kongou: The alcohol burns off, so it’s fine for people who don’t drink to eat it.

ran: Ooh, informative~

mizuki: Quit talking about complicated stuff, lemme eat more.

heath: Mizuki, how many have you already eaten?

kongou: I whipped up some prototype cookies for decorating the cakes with too. Here, you can have some of these.

hinata: Woah, there’s so many to choose from! So we can decorate the cake with these?

kongou: Yeah. Let me know which you prefer or if there’s any that can be improved.

kongou: I’m glad it’s popular. Depending on the toppings you choose the flavour and appearance changes, so it appears we’ve been getting a lot of repeat customers.

lico: See I told you women are into this sort of thing. They love traditional Valentine’s Day stuff.

mizuki: All we’re doing is putting things on a cake and they eat it.

lico: Do you, the person providing the service not even understand what you’re doing? When you’re on the stage, you hear the fans cheering in the audience don’t you? I’m happy they’ve come to watch of course, but hearing them do chants or wave their penlights is nice, y’know?

ran: Ah, I get ya! Ya can really feel that they’re here to support us.

lico: Yeah exactly. What I’m trying to tell you is that the goal of this event is to repay them in a similar way that reflects those feelings.

mizuki: Oh shut up, quit yapping at me about everything little thing.

heath: …It’s not that hard to understand. The fact we’re putting our souls into the show hasn’t changed. We’re just giving it a physical form.

saki: Is that so? Sorry for asking something strange then.

ran: The fact that once we’re up on that stage, we have a blast! That includes for this show too of course. Thinkin’ about it though, even recently Mizuki and Lico have been buttin’ heads and Hinata’s been actin’ recklessly. It’s been a mess~ Wherever B goes, discord follows! I kid, I kid. But well, when you take everythin’ into account, it does kinda suit us.

saki: Fufu, that may be so.

saki: (That’s good, Ran-san seems to be his usual self…)

ran: Ah, you finally smiled. That’s our Nee-chan.

saki: Yes. And the Ran-san that sparkles on the stage is the usual you.

ran: …….

ran: Yeah. Because while I’m here— I want to entertain you as both a member of B and as ‘Ran-chan’.

Chapter 1

Haseyama Oi, Un'ei. About what we were discussing earlier. Un'ei Huh? Sir, what do you by that? Haseyama Ha? What are you doing? Are you letting the flowers bloom in your brain too? I'm talking about the mixed teams that are going to perform the scripts written by the playwrights. Un'ei (scared mumbling)...O-Of course, everything is going smoothly...! Let's see...Akira-san's team members were........were... Akira He~y~, try to remember it, will you? Kei Akira, Mokuren, Yakou, Menou, and finally, myself. Haseyama Hm, wasn't expeting Kei-sama to be part of it as well. Well, Rindou, who's in yours? Rindou Kokuyo, Qu, Taiga, and Ran, sir. Un'ei Both teams were created under the supervision of a 3rd party overseer! Haseyama Hell if I care about that. All I need to know if it's a good card to play. Well, as long as it all goes smoothly...Actually, I have no idea who'll end up winning this time. Hey, little missy. Which one do you think is stronger? MC (flustered) Uhm, yes...U-uhm... Kei Haseyama, don't bother her with such meaningless things. Haseyama Well, doesn't matter to me who wins or losses. I'm going to go greet the teachers now. Work hard and keep the money flowing in. Rindou The owner is still his usual self. Akira That conversation was completely pointless. Anyway, there's no penalty for losing this time, right? Kei None that I know of. However, we still need to do what was requested of us. Both teams are to give it their all for the performances. Akira Okay~! And, you have a show today, don't you. Hurry on and get ready. Menou (yawning) ...'s already time.. Sinju A lot of customers are coming in today as well. Good luck! Menou Heh. Don't really feel like going at all today, to be honest. This whole performance is just half-assed anyway. Sinju Huh, really? To me, it doesn't look like that at all though... Menou I wanted to focus more on the acting of it, but Mokuren kept pushing to focus on the dance aspect. Takami I feel like I've heard this conversation somewhere before. Menou Akira said he wanted to be the one singing, since he'd the top and all. Even Kei said to "Leave it all to the top's judgment." So really, in the end it was Akira's opinions that mattered. Takami The show looks well balanced though. Menou Nope. That whole thing is just a half-assed play. In the end, Akira left the directioning to Kei and left it at that. Takami I see. That's very Akira. Menou If you aren't gonna do your best with the acting, why even appoint me in the first place. Sinju Ah, Menou! Don't just go back to sleep! Takami For now, why not just stay at the wings? You don't want to leave a hole in the show, don't you? Menou Hm, yeah...guess I have no choice. (Menou leaves) Sinju ...Is he gonna be alright...? Takami Menou, Mokuren, and Akira... No matter how much I think of it, it really is an amazing team. Sinju It really is. But if you think about it, everyone is in a league of their own there, aren't they? It'll be an amazing show, no matter what, is what I think. Takami A lot of them want to focus on different things. It seems hard to be able to focus on a single direction.* (Takami actually says Too many ferrymen, eh? It'll be difficult to steer it which is a reference to a proverb. I didn't know if I should've used the proverb or explain it instead so like...y'know. Here we are. lol.)

Ran (singing Polar Night) Lico Hey, can you like, shut up now? You're in an awfully good mood. Even you you always complain how a pain it is to be the cleaning crew. Ran 'is b'cause I get to go up on stage~! The cheers after a show is seriously the best! All the stress is go~ne completely. Lico That's so. I'm SO glad for you. Sotetsu If I'm not mistaken, Ran was chosen for Rindou's team, weren't you? The other people were...Kokuyo, Qu and Taiga, right? It's a pretty interesting lineup. The performance looks like it's different from the usual P stages, but I wanna know how it actually feels for you when you get up there. Ran Well, now that ya mention it... Rindou, well if everyone is misbehaving, it's like he won't know what to do. As for Kokuyo... Lico Kokuyo? What did he say? Ran Well, all I hear from him is that "I'm the top!," but he's actually pretty good at supporting [the team] too. Even if I did go wild, I'd get crushed immediately by him. Lico He does? It's pretty hard to imagine him being that helpful. Sotetsu Not at all. Kokuyo's pretty handy to have around too. Isn't it great for you to be able to see it, Ran? Ran We~ll. He is the "oldest" top member. So I guess 's to be expected? But the performance right now is su~per fun! Of course, nothing beats being able to perform as Team B, but there's not much I can do about it. Lico Well, if you're having fun there's no harm in it. Keep doing your best, alright?
