Pairing: Lee Changsub x Fem!Reader

Requested by anon: Can you plz write one for Btob Changsub His gf become emotional and cry a lot when he make a surprise visit to her after no meeting for a long time since he’s busy with schedules. thanks

Changsub stared at the doorbell to your apartment for a good while, shifting the weight of his body from foot to foot, the fresh bouquet of flowers he’d bought on his way there pressed against his back. His finger was hovering over the bell, everytime it inched close to the button, he pulled back walking in a circle before going back and repeating the action. He was extremely nervous - but it was an excited sense of nervousness.

It’d been quite some time since he’d seen you. Like actually seen you. Face to face. Not through a video call or pictures. Right in front of him, in the flesh, your entire existence captivating every single one of his senses with your perfect imperfections. And he had his schedule to blame for that, it was always the schedule's fault when he couldn’t see you as often as he would like.

Shaking his head he pressed the button and stood just out of sight of the camera waiting for you to open the door. He heard the shuffling as you made your way to the door, opening it and peering out, stepping back as the bouquet of flowers was all but shoved in front of you blocking your view of him until he peeked out from behind it.

“Surprise,” he smiled softly as he took you in. He swore you had only gotten more beautiful since he’d last seen you. You only ever seem to get more beautiful as time passes.

Changsub wasn’t exactly sure what to expect from you upon his surprise visit. He had some idea which was either extreme joy and happiness or the door slamming in his face in irritation (maybe anger that he couldn’t quite blame you for) - there was no inbetween. But the tears welling in your sweet, innocent, doe eyes followed by them spilling and cascading down your cheeks was not something he’d even considered - ever.

He dropped the flowers rushing forward and taking you into his arms, praying that none of your neighbors would decide to step out of their units and see you crying - you never were one to like that sort of attention and he wasn’t keen on his private life being this open to the public.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, hands rubbing circles against your back, wetness spreading along his shirt as you cried into his chest. “Baby, I didn’t mean to make you upset. Do you want me to make you some tea? Soup? A cake?”

You muttered something incomprehensible into his shirt, making his eyebrows furrow as he softly asked you to repeat yourself, pulling away slightly, but not letting you go.

“I missed you so much,” you spoke in between sobs. “I know you were busy, but not seeing you in person was getting really hard to cope with.”

He immediately pulled you back into him, molding both of your bodies together as you stood in the entrance of your apartment, no longer caring if anyone saw. You had been suffering for a while and he needed to simply hold you for a while to convey just how much he understood your words before doing anything else. He needed you to know that he was finally there, and he wouldn’t be going anywhere. And if he did, he would always, always come back to you.

A/n: where are my overthinkers at? 🤚

Changsub wasn’t sure what had transpired over the course of the week for you to become so distant and upset. Had he done or said something without meaning to that caused this gradual ocean to form between the two of you? Was he the root of whatever it was that was driving you away from him? Is he the problem that you have no answers for?

You were currently sitting on the opposite side of the couch not saying a word to him as you stared blankly at the dark screen of the television, blindly petting Guri who had seemed to pick up on your sudden change and had deemed it her job to comfort you with endless cuddles, something you wouldn’t even let him do. The air was tense, but in the way that it would be if there was some sort of sexual tension present or malice between two people, but tense in the way where two people who shared everything in the world had seemingly become strangers and neither knew why or what to even say to fix it.

His mind was racing trying to conjure up something to get things back to the way they were but nothing was coming to mind. Likewise, you were sitting on the couch overthinking about everything and nothing all at the same time.

Were you enough for Changsub? Were you doing enough for him? Was he happy? Were you holding him back? Was he purposefully turning down doing or going on shows because of you? Were you unknowingly ruining his career? Was he ever really-

“Did I do something?” Changsub finally asked, breaking you out of your thoughts, startling you. His voice was timid, unsure if you would even answer him. You two hadn’t talked at all throughout the week after all. “I want to know so I can fix it.”

He had to make the first move, or at least extend the offer of wanting to fix things because it was becoming clear that you weren’t going to with how lost in your thoughts you were at the very moment. And he was glad he did because he finally got to hear your soft voice direct something at him after a week of not hearing it.

“I don’t think you did,” even though you were unsure of what had caused all those thoughts to surface. He hadn’t said anything that would’ve triggered them. He never did. “I just…I think I’m spiraling over nothing.”

Changsub moved closer to you, facing you completely, “It’s not nothing if it’s making you worry or causing you to spiral down a rabbit hole.”

He was right, you knew he was right. And while it was hard to vocalize much of what you had been overthinking for the past week, it seemed Changsub didn’t need you to say or explain everything because he understood after hearing the first few things that slipped past your lips, quickly followed by hot tears as a weight you hadn’t realized you were carrying was lifted from your chest allowing you to actually breath for the first time in a while.

“I love you,” he whispered, cradling your face in his hands once you had calmed down, your breathing steadying after being a bit erratic. “And I don’t think I could ever not be happy with you by my side. You are my biggest inspiration to keep going on and continue doing different things as an artist. To venture out and try new things. You could never hold me back because you are always pushing me forward.”

Fresh tears slipped from your eyes as you sniffled, wiping your nose with your sleeve before laughing at a face he made as he continued talking, easing every single one of your thoughts and worries. “Thank you and I’m sorry for worrying you all week. I should’ve just mentioned it from the start.” He pulled you close to him, Guri’s paw hitting him, not liking him being too close to you at that very moment and forcing him to pull away. “You have nothing to be sorry for. It’s normal and understandable to find it difficult to share your thoughts. What’s not understandable is not being able to share my girlfriend with me, Guri.”
