so the drunk eddie fic is so close to being done i just need to find a way to end it! here have some of the angst

Halfway through the movie, Buck finally gave up. “I can’t take this anymore,” He said, reaching over Eddie to grab the remote and hit pause. He turned his whole body so he was facing Eddie. “What’s going on with you? Why are you shutting me out?”

“I’m not shutting you out, Buck,” Eddie said, already so, so tired. He didn’t want to do this. He didn’t want to fight.

“Yes, you are! You’ll barely even look at me!” Buck huffed, his lips pulled down in a frown. “What’s going on, Eddie?”

“I can’t do this right now,” Eddie said, getting up from the couch. “I’m kind of drunk, I really can’t handle having this conversation.”

Buck sighed heavily, getting up himself and crossing his arms. “Alright, fine, we can talk tomorrow then, but we do have to talk.”

“Fine,” Eddie grumbled, turning around and going towards the kitchen. “What do you want for dinner?”

“Pizza s’fine,” Buck mumbled, falling back onto the couch. He picked up the remote and unpaused the movie.

Eddie swallowed down the urge to apologize, to lay everything bare and just tell Buck what was going on. Instead he forced his body to move, to turn around and go to the kitchen and grab the takeout menu for their favourite pizza place. He called in the order robotically, just going through the motions but not really being present. Fuck, he hated fighting with Buck. He felt hollow.

here's more of ambulance fic! i'm thinking ill focus on this wip for now while i have the inspiration for it. previous snippet

Buck, right there. Buck, with his face down on the dashboard and his usually bright and golden hair matted and covered in blood, the crimson liquid making Eddie want to throw up right then and there. Buck, that had taken the whole blunt of the ambulance crashing against him. Buck. His Buck. Unconscious and bloody and— No. That can't be. Buck is supposed to be at Chris' school now. He's supposed to be waiting at the entrance, leaning against the Jeep and vibrating with excitement as he waits for Chris to be out, checking his watch every two minutes as he bites down a smile.

This day is supposed to be normal and good and just—

Eddie is losing his mind. The fantasy of what it should've been— Of what it would've been if it wasn't for him— fading as the scene before him becomes frantic and hectic.

Hen is climbing through the broken windshield, careful of the glass, to check Buck's vitals and Chimney is running to get the bags with the first aid and the bandages. Bobby is yelling on the radio and Eddie hears the sirens of a new ambulance turning around the corner.

His ears start ringing louder, the white noise becoming almost unbearable.

Sooooo my angst in autum fic is going out this next weekend it even has a name The Price of Love (angst with a happy ending cos I’m well me!) here’s a tiny tease…I’m going with double throwback trauma for Buck (trapped and water) and some helplessness and letting people down for Eddie! Sounds fun huh!

“Pretty stuck huh?” Buck’s trying to keep it lighthearted and Eddie doesn’t really appreciate it. The water’s already moved an inch higher.

“Is it broken? Does it hurt?”

Bucks tone deflates, “um I don’t think so, it’s not too bad, not like before.”

“Have you tried to get it out?” It’s a stupid question. He knows that but his brain is feeling slow, all he can see is Buck’s trapped leg and the way the water is rising.

Blue eyes meet his; yes, it’s a stupid question. He looks away again back to the spot Buck's leg disappears.

And cos it’s FIF I will share another bit of shifter fic …

This is Maddie talking to Bobby.

He was fine for three weeks, he’d healed then I woke up to our mom screaming. She screamed and screamed. It was so loud. I ran in and there he was, cowering in the corner. It was a dog, he was so scared. I thought Evan had smuggled him in but Evan was gone and it wasn’t a dog.

Mom was still screaming and he ran, he ran right past us. Dad opened the front door and he went straight out.

And author!buck under the cut. A bit more from the accident scene.

Hen hands him a blanket from the kit and he wraps it round Buck’s shoulders pulling it tight. The man is definitely heading towards shock now. His hands are shaking as his adrenaline crashes.

“Ok quick check. Name?”

“Buck, um Evan Buckly.”

“Year?”

“2023”

“President?”

“Maybe I don’t follow politics.”

Eddie laughs and is surprised at how relieved he feels that the man is probably ok. “You’d still know the president Buck.”

Buck’s eyes sparkle and focus on him a little better as he answers “Biden.”

“Ok you’re good. I have to keep moving so stay here and someone will get you in an ambulance and to the hospital.”

Eddie notices how Buck’s eyebrows draw together and is instantly worried again.

“What is it ? Headache? Blurred vision, You feel sick?

Buck looks up at him and he really shouldn’t be quite so captivated by bright blues eyes as he is, especially at work. Those distracting eyes hold him captive, as Buck explains.

“No but if I’d said Clinton or Obama would you have stayed with me?”

Eddie rolls his eyes, “No” he can’t keep the exasperated smile off his face “but I would have sent you to the hospital sooner.”

photobooth/surprise kiss fic

“Eddie.” Buck breathes, turning towards his best friend, with wide wide eyes.

Eddie isn’t looking back. He’s still facing forward with disheveled hair and kiss swollen lips slightly parted. The glow from the screen softly illuminates his silhouette like he’s bathed in moonlight and Buck chokes down the needy sound that crawls up his throat. Buck knows there’s no stopping it now. As soon as Eddie’s lips were against his own he knew he would never want anyone else ever again. Something pops and fizzes in his blood, a spark fluttering to life in his very core. There’s an ache deep within his bones that craves more more more. 

Eddie can be his.

Eddie can be his in every single way Buck’s ever imagined — ever hoped for. They can go home together and Buck can pull him close, memorize the shape of Eddie pressed into the mattress or wrapped around Buck early in the morning where the sleep-soft haze of the rising sun can warm them beneath the sheets of Eddie’s bed. They can cook breakfast together like they always do, but steal lazy kisses between sips of coffee or bites of bacon. They can have mornings, afternoons, evenings, and the rest of forever together because Buck is all in and now—

and

hunger games au

Suddenly, it hits Eddie all at once. That overwhelming and terrifying thought that Buck is already lost. That he’s been bled out, carelessly collected to be transported back to the Capitol where they will clean him up, and sent home in a simple wooden box back to District 12. Eddie imagines sterile, gloved hands stitching the pieces of Evan Buckley together. Painting on his beautiful birthmark and making him all shiny and new just to be put in the fucking ground. 

Eddie stumbles into the nearest tree, bracing his hand against the bark, glad for the rough scratch of pain against his palms. He tries to remember if he even saw Buck in the middle of the action, but all he can recall is Buck’s headshake, as if he could read Eddie’s mind and knew he wanted to go for the bow and arrow. 

Maybe it’s better this way. Buck repeatedly stated he never had a chance of winning. That he was so sure of Eddie getting to be the one who goes home. Only one of them can. There’s only one victor. No matter how much the Capitol loves the drama of the star-crossed lovers. Eddie will not be the one who kills Buck. He can’t. So, yeah, maybe it’s better if Buck is out of this for good.

Eddie bites back a sob that claws at his chest so hard he has to rub his sternum just to feel relief. 

He doesn’t believe for one second that losing Buck is better.

—chris doesn't come back au (a little shy of 14k)

3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?

—probably chris doesn't come back au. i've barely gotten into things and am already at almost 14k 💀

4. Which WIP is your favorite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?

—hmm i'm actually having so much fun writing the murder!boyfriends au! i just love making them unhinged 😈

5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?

—probably the murder!boyfriends, just bc it is so dark, and i don't want people to hate it. idk i'm afraid i won't be able to pull it off 😩

6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?

—the author!buck one. it was just a silly little idea, but writing all the smutty parts for it became kind of intimidating and i ended up hating it and throwing it to the side. i haven't looked back since

7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?

—i've never used a beta reader tbh. i usually just send my friends snippets or things for vibe checks!

8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?

—see above the abandon wips, or any of the ones you haven't seen me posting about lately 🥲

9. Which WIP has your favorite OC? Tell us about them?

—i don't have any OC atm, but i would love to play with that in the future!

10. Which WIP is the sexiest?

—hmm probably the author!au from what i remember or murder!boyfriends just bc i think them being covered in blood and stabbing ppl is sexy 🙊

11. Which WIP is the angstiest?

—chris doesn't come back au. its a pretty heavy one. i love all the threats i get whenever i post a new snippet 😆

12. Which WIP has the best characterization (in your humble opinion)?

—hmmm maybe the chris doesn't come back au? i've had to really deep dive into both their heads for this one

13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?

—chris doesn't come back au bc tsunami episodes my most beloved, but also murder!boyfriends, bc the dark settings are so fun to conjure up!

14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?

—chris doesn't come back au. it's the one i've put the most time and effort into as of late. she's been in my ideas for forever and has a special place in my heart <33

15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why?

—chris doesn't come back au, mainly for the reason above. she's my babygirl, ok 🥹

—mm not that i can specifically think of or remember, but i'm sure i have at some point!

Christopher made a confused groan as he woke up, rubbing at his eyes. “What’s going on?”

“We were going to go see Buck, bud. If you’d rather sleep we can go see him in the morning,” Eddie said softly, crouching beside Christopher’s bed. While Eddie desperately wanted to see Buck if Chris needed sleep then that would be the priority.

“I wanna see Buck,” Chris said quickly, completely alert now that he knew what was going on.

“Alright, mijo. Let’s go.”

They got their jackets and their shoes on in no time and then they were getting into the truck and speeding towards the hospital Bobby had texted Eddie the name of.

“Dad?” Christopher broke the anxious silence. “What if Buck’s not okay?”

“He’s going to be okay, Chris. I— I have to believe that,” Eddie felt his chest burn with emotion. Buck had to be okay. He had to be.

okay so, i have a few ideas for holiday fics and i haven't really decided which ones to write. so... here's a christmas moodboard for inspiration and the options, if you guys could vote ur favorite i'd love u forever and ever.

1. it's chris and eddie's first christmas without shannon and also away from texas. it has to be perfect— they have to choose the perfect tree but the cute, stupidly hot guy selling the trees is really not helping.

buck's been working extra shifts at the station and now also selling christmas trees on his free time since his sister is in town asking for his help to hide from her psychotic husband and can't currently find a job. he meets the most adorable kid ever and the hottest dad he's ever seen. they flirt, they bicker a little bit and buck thinks that's it. he won't see the guy ever again... until he shows up at the toy drive they're hosting at the station and accidentally stands under a mistletoe. what other choice does buck have but to kiss him??

2. buck and eddie are exes. they haven't seen each other in years. until sophia invites buck over for christmas and some feelings reemerge. their love might not be dead after all.

3. buck gets dumped on christmas eve and eddie being the amazing friend he is, he tries to cheer him up. christmas has always been better with them together anyway, who needs a stupid girlfriend?

4. buck ends up in a coma and somehow, his neighbor eddie ends up on the hospital bed next to him with buck's entire family thinking they're dating. when buck wakes up with amnesia and he thinks eddie's his boyfriend, things get a little bit more complicated. eddie finds it really hard to not tell the truth when he hasn't ever felt this at home before.

This is what I wrote today - no context no clues, nope not anything… it’s a secret 🤫

“I’ve heard he very good at his job.” Karen adds nonchalantly, “I’ve seen his picture, online, “ she gets another scowl for that “and if I wasn’t a happily married lesbian I’d say he’s hot. He’s going to be a popular boy round here!”

She laughs at the disdainful noise he makes.

“I don’t have to like him.”

“No you don’t but you do have to work with him. And the poor guy’s not done anything wrong.” His friend stares him down but he remains firm.

“Yet”

She rolls her eyes at him, “You’re being unreasonable.”

“Perhaps I like being unreasonable.” He leans back in his chair and folds his arms then unfolds them because it looks too defensive.

Edit… things are not as you may expect 😏😉

Two things have been tempting me lately

Firefighter calendar fic - some of you know about this, but I'm planning on having the boys kind of competing for the calendar again but this time Eddie and Buck decide to send in one submission with the both of them, cause they are so much hotter together, right? So they take some sexy pics together which has some pretty fun results

Different first meeting au - this would be set sometime during s3 I guess, but I wanna have Eddie and Buck (who work at different stations) run into each other every now and then during emergencies, then get together to have drinks one night and hook up, and the next day hey what do you know but they see each other at the parent teacher conference for their kids who absolutely love each other. Buck will have a daughter who is like a year or two younger than Chris.

seven sentence sunday

Despite whatever has settled between them they’re still partners out in the field. But, everything feels slightly off kilter, like everything has been shifted to the left or the world’s tilted a degree on its axis. Eddie gives him the wrong tool. Buck’s fingers miss the hand off and it crashes to the ground. They’re constantly bumping into each other; wrong-footed and frustrating. Eddie snaps when Buck asks him to repeat a question. Buck accidentally elbows Eddie in the ribs when he pries a door off a dented car. 

It’s not enough to interfere with their job, but it does capture the rest of the team's attention and by the time they’re back in the engine on opposite sides Buck’s eyes burn with unshed tears as he keeps his gaze firmly set on a grease smudge on the window.

He’s not quite sure whether Buck was really real or if it was just a hallucination. But his desperation and fear sounded real. His cry of pain as Eddie sprinted away sounded real too. Suddenly, like a wave crashing against the shore Eddie feels a deep, deep sorrow overcome him. He doesn’t know if Buck is alive and the thought of losing him even after everything terrifies Eddie. He saved Eddie. He just wished he knew what was going on in Buck’s head. 

He wonders what Shannon thinks of Buck.

He immediately pushes that thought away as he rolls his shoulders. Buck and Shannon do not coexist well together in his thoughts.
