al-haitham’s the kind of guy who tilts his head slightly for a kiss before you even lean in to give him one. he just knows it’s coming. expects it. trusts it’ll happen.

he’s yawning when he sits at the table for breakfast, hair slightly disheveled from sleep. he sits down and when you place the mug of coffee in front of him, his head angles a little for that kiss you place on his cheek.

he’s drowned in endless paperwork at the akademiya when you stop by to visit, chuckling when he gives you that look of despair at the all the work he has to do. you don’t even manage to walk up to him fully before he’s leaning in and waiting for the kiss to the top of his head.

he’s shirtless in the bathroom, brushing his teeth at night when you walk in to brush yours too, bumping hips with his as you giggle. you don’t even have to turn before he’s tilting his head so he’s exposed and ready for that gentle peck you leave at his jaw.

“have you ever noticed how demanding you are for these,” you chuckle one day, pressing a kiss to his cheek to prove your point.

he grunts, leaning in and burying his head into your neck as you greet him at the door after a long day. “what makes you say that,” he mumbles.

“you’re ready for one before i’ve even come close,” you grin, “what if one day i don’t kiss you?”

“you’d stop kissing me?” he asks, squeezing your hips as he nuzzles into your neck. something tells you he already knows your answer.

and he’s warm. he’s close. he’s here and he’s everything all at once. he’s all you need and everything you’ve ever wanted. he’s the messy hair of your mornings and the pouty lips of your afternoons and that shirtless back of every night. he meets you halfway—maybe even takes the first step so you don’t have to.

he leans in for that kiss before you do. because he needs you, wants you, loves you—and he never lets you forget it. so you turn your head, press your lips against the side of his head and run your fingers through his hair as he sighs in content.

“no,” you hum, falling in love all over again, “no i’d never stop kissing you.”

AO3 Tag Game

Thanks so much for the tag @peachpety 😘 I thoroughly enjoyed reading yours.

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 27 (+ 2 in fests) 2. What is your total AO3 word count? 134,448 (But if things go according to plan, I’ll be adding another 50-60k to that in 2-3 months). 3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? I’ve only ever published HP (all Drarry, except for one rare pair that’s part of an upcoming non-anon fest). But before I got into Drarry, I experimented with some dystopian Malec (Shadowhunters). 4. What are your top five fics by kudos? Potter’s Ravine (E, 23k)

Harry is undeniably numb. Still reeling from the sudden death of his godfather, he’s back at the Dursleys and everything seems hopeless. One day bleeds into the next. But, as they say, nature abhors a vacuum…

Draco is unimpressed. The Dark Lord and his infernal giant snake have taken over Malfoy Manor and he’s confined to his rooms. He feels like a prisoner and it’s just not right. He’s a Malfoy. Itching for confrontation he decides to go visit Harry Potter.

Things don’t go according to plan.

The Time in Between (E, 42k)

Harry never wanted to be the Chosen One. Draco refused the Dark Mark. Together, they set out to create something new. But can they outrun their destiny?

Light up Your Lust (E, 1k)

All it takes is a Cornish Pixie, a spilled potion and everything becomes quite clear.

Malfoy sputters, “That’s ridiculous, Potter. I don’t want to – ”

“Then tell me to stop.”

But the only noise Malfoy makes is a breathy sigh as Harry dives back in and kisses his jaw, plunders his incandescent lips, before he follows the glowing path south…

The Naughty List (E, 2K)

In which Hermione takes Harry to an art class and the model is familiar, blond, and pointy.

Malfoy steps up onto the round platform and casually lets his robe slip to the ground. As he adopts a pose, Harry’s jaw drops. Draco Malfoy is a work of art.

“Close your mouth, Harry,” Hermione whispers, and Harry does.

When Death Comes Calling (T, 2k)

It’s All Hallows’ Eve and as Harry investigates a string of seemingly related deaths, there’s one he hopes to prevent. He looks over Harry’s shoulder and Harry turns too. They both see it, the dark translucent figure making its way to shore.

~ Or ~ Getting together in the face of Death. Literally.

5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not? OMG, I appreciate each and every single comment I receive. When I’m feeling down, I go back and re-read comments. I do try to respond to every one, but sometimes it takes a little while (depending on spoons, life, and writing deadlines). 6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I love happy endings, so most of my fics end happily or hopefully. But I have one fic, written for My Bloody Valentine 2021, that does not have a happy ending. You’re the Only One for Me (M, 1k, MCD, mind the tags)

After all these years, Draco's still the one.

7. Do you ever write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve every written? I have not written any crossovers... yet. I might. I might not. But I have contemplated Drarry with Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (I’m a big fan, hence the ‘42′ in my pseud), or with Lost Souls (by Poppy Z. Brite, a vampire novel set in New Orleans).

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic? I’d have to say any ‘hate’ I’ve received has been minimal (although it thoroughly bummed me out at the time). But I received a lot of support from fellow Drarry authors and took their advice (deleted the comments without responding to them). Many others have received comments far worse than those I received and it makes me sad. 9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Ha! You may have noticed 4/5 of my top five are rated E. I love reading and writing smut. I’ve mostly written M/M, but I do have some F/F in the works. I adore porn with feelings, and angsty, angry sex that leads to feelings.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge. 11. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I never thought I would (I’m too much of a control freak 😂) but I co-wrote two during Exploding Snap 2021, and I had a blast! It was so much fun, amazingly refreshing, and I would totally do it again. The Stars on the Calendar (T, 2k, with @anaxandria-writes)

Harry accepted there were many things he and Draco would always argue about. He just didn’t think sex would ever be one of them.

Midnight Rendezvous (T, 696 words, with @cequonveut)

The Fat Lady gets an eyeful while portrait hopping down the seventh-floor corridor.

12. What’s your all-time favourite ship? Drarry!!!!! But I also love Grudders, Roarmac (thanks Peach!), Jeddy, Scorbus, Charlie Weasley with pretty much anyone, and various poly ships. Outside of HP, I also have a soft spot for Malec and Jimon (Shadowhunters) and Steve/Ghost (Lost Souls). 13. What was the first fandom you wrote for? HP is the only fandom I’ve published in. But as I mentioned above, I have an incomplete Malec burning a hole in my hard drive. Maybe one day I’ll finish it… or maybe I won’t… 14. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written? As much as I adore writing drabbles and short fics, I really love to become immersed in my longer chaptered fics. All of them are my favourites. I’ve already mentioned my Old Magic series (Potter’s Ravine, The Time in Between, and I’m currently working on the third installment). But my other recent fav is my Wireless fic: Until It All Comes Undone (E, 38k).

Following his confrontation with Voldemort, Harry returns from King’s Cross Station completely changed. He wakes up at Privet Drive with no memory of his past, the war or magic. Petunia, widowed and suffering from empty nest syndrome, is only too happy to turn Harry into Dudley 2.0.

But something’s not quite right. Plagued by recurring nightmares, Harry can’t help but feel something is missing. A bottle of his cousin’s LSD helps him to forget his worries… Magic may not be real, but the hallucinations and the hot blond he meets all feel pretty magical to Harry.

Having turned his back on his family, Draco is determined to start over and do the right thing. But he’s never made good decisions when it comes to Harry Potter. When Potter—presumed dead, but very much alive—unexpectedly returns, Draco will do anything for a second chance. Even if it means pretending not to know who he is…

This idea burned inside me for nearly a year and refused to be silent. Writing this terrified me, because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to write it the way I wanted it to be written. Completing this story was an amazing journey and really taught me to believe in myself. (And, of course, I’m eternally grateful to my amazing beta, @peachpety 🥰)

@shinobi93 tagged me in a fic meme like it’s 2012 or something, answers below the cut!! (my AO3 is here for reference)

fandoms i’ve made fanworks for: i tend to write one thing for a fandom and then hop on to another, i don’t settle on one for too long! TTOI was probably the last thing i had the ~true fandom experience for back in c. 2015

number of fics: there’s still a few scattered on other sites that i never archived on AO3, but over there i currently have 44 works spanning from 2008 to now. (soon to be 45 hopefully!)

fics i spent more time on: it took me two years to write the Seb fic, start to finish. other than that i probably only spend a month or two actually writing a piece - i’m not very good at maintaining enthusiasm for longer than that!

fics i spent less time on: i remember knocking out in memoriam in one night while on holiday, and that one is weirdly popular in the fandom!

longest fic: currently it’s the big bang i wrote yonks ago (42k), but WATCH THIS SPACE. alternatively if you take the Eastbourne disaster series that one’s at about 60k overall. i have ALWAYS wanted to write something that was like 100k+ but never managed it.

shortest fic: i have never ever looked at it this way before, but it’s a tiny thing i wrote for the matrix (again yonks ago) that’s 700 words. i don’t tend to write anything much shorter than 4-5k these days.

most hits: as a one-chapter, the superbat fic. which i’m glad of, actually, i really liked that one. i loved writing that version of Bruce and Clark and i’d love to do it again sometime, i just got such a sour taste with the whole JL movie disaster and how awful people were about BvS. overall it’s bizarrely the multichapter mission: impossible / inception crossover i wrote for a kink meme lmao

most kudos: the shorter of the two TMFU fics i wrote! i was also pleased with how that one came out, although it bums me out that it’s less popular than the longer one (which i spent more time on and is definitely better). i love how this + superbat just seems to suggest i’m super thirsty for Henry Cavill which, okay

most bookmarks: same as above, the TMFU fic.

fic you want to rewrite or expand: oh GOD, ALL OF THEM. it is never as good as i want it to be, ever! expanding-wise, the Incoming Disaster Fic is something i’d be super hyped to write more of if people like it.

total words combined: on AO3 i’m at just over 390k. there’s maybe another 100,000 kicking around on older sites etc.

fav fic you wrote: blegh. the one i reread most because it’s the story i want to read but can’t find elsewhere is probably the superbat fic. i am weirdly proud of the T2 fic too, just because those characters are a bitch to write and i think i did an okay job. for the rest of them, i’m kind of just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ they are what they are

share a bit of your WIP or idea if you have anything planned

so i hope to Post A Thing tomorrow if i can bear to. otherwise i have the incredibly old x-men fic that’s pretty much ready to post. i would love to revisit BvS, or maybe finally write the Percy Weasley fic i started planning in like 2011 and never got round to. i find fic-writing a bit of a galling thankless task now so it takes a lot of enthusiasm (or an excellent cheerleader i.e. zoe) for me to actually write something these days.

9. What is the longest fic you've read?

Okay, so this is a hard question for a few reasons. We talking chapters because then it was this fic called "Dear Mr. Diary" and it's a hilarious story I've read like 5 times and laugh at every time, without fail. First read it when I was in high school with a friend and we just DIED. That was a twilight fanfic though and, oddly enough, the story that opened up the fanfic world to me. Words wise? Longest would be... I have no clue? Probably one of your fics honestly cause, imma be honest, I'm a baaaaaad fanfic reader. I mostly write. Which probably makes me a bad kid. I'm just awful at reading and keeping up with reading. I do better if it's already complete but even then I 10/10 dont go hunting to read a fic because I'll just go write it if I wanna read something in particular?? Gosh that makes me sound horrible and like a total poop nugget of a person. I do miss reading fanfics though. I should get back at it honestly... I'm like a fanfic hoarder where I favorite all these things I INTEND to read and then never end up doing it. I'm a bad kid 😬

32. Fav AU tropes

So I am gonna be honest, I had NO IDEA what a trope was... I didnt know it basically was like a "what if" scenario lol. I guess I'm a morbid kinda bitch because I like the trope of like, "what if this very important character dies from a very serious issue" scenario or like "crazy coincidental car crash" (ooh check out that alliteration my marshmallow chilli babies) situations. I love that crazy stuff. Probably why I have literally written 2 stories about those exact things: The Club, where I legit killed Olga from a brain tumor and Humans Without Wings where I forced Helga and Arnold to get into a car crash with each other. OH and Spaces Between My FiNgers where I killed Arnold's grandpa AND for bonus points there was Autumn Leaves where I straight up like either killed or paralyzed Arnold... I cant remember honestly. I like dark sad things that make me or the author dig deep into the psychological thoughts and actions of a character and why they do what they do and how they react. Maybe that's why when i play sims I torture the people... I'm not a serial killer I promise. Also-- I'm not ALWAYS mean. I really like AU tropes of like ZOMBIE APOCALYPTIC scenarios and I've always wanted to try writing one I've just never thought up a good enough plot for it. Or like just an apocalyptic scenario in general but NOPE. that's still probably traumatic for the characters. I see that now. Hmm. But the trauma stuff really only seems to go for HA! Stuff maybe because it's a kid show? I'm not as mean to my twilight buds aka my main man Embry or Leah or Quil but like... so many of the twilight characters I care about already had tough mean things happen to them because smeyer is mean and racist and sexist so like... maybe give them a break? Like currently I'm putting embry through some tough shit but he kinda needs it but im not killing anyone to dig into his brain like I did helga. I'll be real. That was just mean. I'll admit that. And I always make helga smoke and sometimes try drugs. I made her get divorced once like me... idk sometimes my headcanon involves embry sleeping around and being a lil rebellious cause hes bummed about not imprinting but not quite as bad as what I've put mah girl helga through. I'll shut up now though. I could talk about this for AGES and I'm straight up rambling now. You didn't ask for this.

33. Least favorite AU tropes?

Oh boy. Freaky Friday situations are lame to me? Idk I feel like that's so overdone these days and unless theres something really unique to your idea maybe just dont do it? I'm also gonna drag myself here and say groundhog day scenarios are lame sometimes (yeah, I know, Lindsey-- YOU wrote one of those. It's called "rent a life," you dingus) but to be fair most of them are the same concept and I probably should have left well enough alone but MEH I tried it and I dont regret it but MEH. Whatever. There are a bunch of strange ones in the twilight fandom I cant even begin to start talking about tbh... like I give them props for being creative and stuff but like... idk if it's just me but I'm a pretty canon-y person and YES that series is ULTRA problematic and needs fixing, I AGREEEEEE to the nth degree that is NOT the stuff I'm talking about, it's some of the incredibly straight up bizarre off the wall plots I've read or even been asked about and if you want to know the one I'm referencing, I'll tell you privately. It was... something else. I digress though. AU tropes... honestly those are the only ones I can think of that I dont care for that much. I'll pretty much try anything. I have mostly a hard time if characters are OC or if the plot is SO AU that it makes no logical sense to me... I'm lame I guess idk. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am SO SORRY. nobody ever sends me asks so I kinda just milked this because I love answering questions and so I lived my truth through this ask. I love you, you're awesome, i miss you, keep being fantastic and amazing and all things spectacular ♥️♥️♥️
