an edit for my work-in-progress, a project I don't have a good pitch for yet because, as every fanfic writer knows, summaries are hard, but...
READY SET RUN
The government experimented on people. Social media exposed it. Now that same media stalks the survivors everywhere they go which is bad enough in a normal week. This week it's worse than usual because Knox has unfortunately become bonded to a fugitive as a result of one of those experiments and needs to hide her from quite a few people with quite a lot of guns.
Will you come out the other end a better person for having read this book? No. Will you learn things about the world and human nature? Also no. Are there profound truths about free will and the nature of love that I've hidden under the banality of a tropey romance? Yet again, no. But if you like a forced proximity bodyguard romance, you'll probably have a good time.
Coming to a "won't someone please beta read this for me" near you in March. I think. Time is a lie.

Hi, do you have a source that the tumblr breach is from 2013?
Hey, thank you for asking!
The article included in that post states that pretty much all of the leaked info in the big database that was published comes from old breaches. It doesn't really suggest what amount of the data could be new, or where it might have come from, other than that if there is new data it's only a small portion of the records. In essence: there's no evidence that suggests Tumblr has been breached a second time. That idea was erroneously posited by the OP of the Tumblr post who shared the article, and they've since apologized in the reblogs.
They meant well!
Anyway, you can check to see whether your info is included in this specific breach, and if so what site(s) it came from, by using the tool here: https://cybernews.com/personal-data-leak-check/
An additional anecdote: if you've ever used Google One's tool for checking where your stolen information is being posted on the web, it specifically flags when something it detects is a republishing of old data rather than a new breach. People repost stolen data a lot in order to sell it after the original post gets taken down, or to clean it up so the data is easier for people to access and use.
I can't suggest people go check Google One for themselves because I'm pretty sure the security monitoring functionality is paid (I have Google One for expanded cloud storage, the security monitoring is a relatively recent perk, I think), but Have I Been Pwned is generally the best free option. Firefox Monitor, a Mozilla service for checking whether your data is secure, is powered by HIBP, so better to just go to the source imo.
After checking again, HIBP doesn't seem to have this breach fully catalogued yet (it's a lot of stuff to go through, so that's normal), but the Cyber News tool that was linked in the article in the original post (and which I linked previously) kinda tells you most of what you need to know.
I recognize this isn't as concise as posting a link to an article that debunks rumors of Tumblr getting breached a second time, but the breach is new and also contains nearly 30,000 information sources (my data was found leaked from 10 different sources, all of which I knew about already because they were old, one of which was Tumblr) so honestly I don't think it's even worth focusing on Tumblr on its own tbh.
If you reuse passwords it honestly might be worth it to get a strong password generator and a password manager, then spend a free afternoon going through and updating your accounts. I use Firefox browser's in-built password manager with a strong-but-memorable password for my Firefox account because you can sync passwords between desktop/mobile/various devices, plus there's integration with autofill on Android if you set Firefox as the autofill app in your default app settings.

The fact that Wordgirl takes place somewhere between the late 90s and early 2000s implies that Michael Jackson exists in the Wordgirl Universe.

Is there any canon info about belphie being able to give people the best dreams (or the worst nightmares) theyve ever had in their lives?
i think a belphie induced dream would feel real to life but everything good would be dialed up to 100. while for nightmares its the same but for everything bad to the point where you can actually feel pain
Anyways I was imagining him giving MC a forehead kiss while theyre napping and they wake up later amazed like
Wow i had the most amazing dream and it was so vivid too....how do i go back?

one of the worst feelings ever is wanting to write but your hands hurt too much or the words just don’t want to work so you just sit there staring at a half finished doc with tears in your eyes bc you want to write and you need to write but everything is telling you that you can’t

OMG SIS SPILL THE TEA I WANNA HEAR
For those interested, here's the video:
Angry rant below the cut!
Ok, so I actually don't mind the person's main points, which seem to be that a) at a time when it was harder to get LGBTQ+ representation into video games, the Tellius duology was pushing the boundaries and being progressive, and b) the author of the video likes a lot of gay ships in Tellius. Those are perfectly fine topics to make a Youtube video about. My main issue is that the author just... doesn't seem to know what "canon" means?? They refer to Elincia & Lucia's romantic paired endings (with Geoffrey & Bastian respectively) as canon, despite the fact that both are significantly harder to get than their unpaired endings, which screams amatonormativity to me. They also refer to Ike & Soren's romance as "so canon", and although their paired ending is at least a bit easier to obtain than those other two, it's still very much not the default, AND IT'S NOT EXPLICITLY ROMANTIC BY ANY MEANS. There are also a bunch of other comments, like "oh I see x relationship as this so I can imagine this pairing as canon". That is literally not what that word means please, it's okay to say "fanon" or "headcanon" or even "opinion".
They also use a lot of absolutist language such as "definitely fucking", "definitely has the hots for __", etc., or that a specific straight ship "could never be together", and say they're shocked they even have to explain why Ike and Soren are "so in love with each other". Maybe it's just me, but I find statements like that very irritating in what is clearly an opinion piece, because it feels like they're saying other opinions aren't valid.
I also found it mildly irritating that they just got some of the lore wrong... they claim that [SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!] the Black Knight kills Greil because Sephiran told him to... while in reality Sephiran only asked him to obtain the medallion, and the BK fought Greil to the death because of his own personal reasons (wanting to surpass his former teacher)
Everything I've mentioned so far is something that personally annoys me, nothing blatantly harmful, and I can at least understand why they included it in the video. What really drove me into a rage is the statement that "Ike is, at the very least, asexual". Like I'm sorry. The fuck is "the very least" supposed to mean???? That asexuality is a "lesser" form of queerness than homosexuality???? (Also note that the author equates asexual with aromantic, but as a non-SAM aroace I don't feel qualified to speak on how harmful or not that is) And then they immediately turn around and say that the Ike/Soren romance is canon????
There are a bunch more irritating off-hand remarks near the end of the video, such as implying that people who disagree with the author only do so because they don't like slash pairings, claiming that "everyone" would ship a pairing if it were straight, etc. I also loooooove how they blatantly skip over the discussion of Kyza's transgenderism, and also make the claim that there are no people of color in Tellius, like wtf????? idk I could talk more about both those issues but they aren't related to the video's topic so whatever I guess :/

Dear body: I know the 'too much sleep, wake up now' thing is there for a reason but when I am having a migraine and am therefore in catastrophic pain and also throwing up while conscious do you think. Maybe. We could override that. Please.

Alright May saying “I love you” to Coulson does not matter because it’s romantic.
Honestly, Philinda’s whole arc in season 5 barely needs to be romantic. The biggest problem they have is admitting they love each other enough to put the world in jeopardy. They’re so casual most of the time it’s almost like they’re trying to prove how little they care— this is why moments of vulnerability and “you mean a lot to me” and “she means everything to me” all matter so much. We’ve seen in-show that friendship and lost friendships are just as devastating as romantic ones— anyone remember Ward?
It doesn’t matter that they want each other romantically. It matters that they care enough about each other to choose the other person over the world. In saying she loves him, May is just dropping all pretenses, and admitting that yes, she is compromised. She would choose him over the world.
