Man the heteronormativity of hyrule gets ridiculous when you realize that there's a town full of tall, buff women who isolate themselves from men for years, and there isn't a single lesbian in sight :V

"oh my god, the comic that opened its plot by saying that removing corporal punishments from schools was a bad idea and the teachers need to go back to beating up students turned out to be racist, who could have seen this coming!!"
Listen, okay, I don't want to dunk on the people who enjoy Get Schooled and genuinely didn't see the racism coming, but like... as someone who doesn't read Get Schooled and checked it out to see what the plot was even about following all the controversy these past couple days, y'all, the description is a hard fucking pass.
Tumblr media
And I still checked out its first episode to give it more benefit of the doubt and... nah fam. Not saying we should have seen the racism coming a mile away but I'm baffled as to why people read this at all. I'm all for manga and webtoons with senseless or comical violence, but you still need to set the baseline for where that violence is taking place and what context it exists within. Naruto? Yeah, sure, students fighting the teachers, this is a fantasy universe based around the ninja arts, makes sense they're gonna fight each other and it seems like a mutual agreement. Assassination Classroom? The teacher literally isn't human and he's training his students on how to kill him otherwise he'll destroy their whole planet. Shit, even fucking Matilda handles it better because it's one kid being abused by the principal and that principal is so ridiculously abusive that the parents don't even believe the abuse is happening (to the point that this form of abuse and manipulation is often nicknamed "The Trunchbull Method" because it's designed to be so absurd that no one will believe the victim), so it winds up being on Matilda's shoulders to use her newfound gifts to teach her a lesson - but the story itself is meant to remind adults that kids are people and just because they're smaller and weaker than you doesn't give you a free pass to be abusive.
Point is, in all of those examples, you can create that suspension of disbelief in how the teachers and students behave towards one another because their entire plots require suspension of disbelief.
But Get Schooled is literally just... it's set in Korea, it's a normal high school story, there's nothing supernatural or unique going on with the students or the teachers, and there's no moral or lesson it's trying to express, it's literally just taking real life and saying, "hey, adults should be allowed to beat up kids". When has combatting violence with more violence ever been a solution in that kind of context? Why is this a comic that even exists, let alone on a platform that's regularly marketed to teenagers?
It's depressing. And just for the record, I was spurred on to make this post by the recent response from the team behind Get Schooled regarding the VERY racist plotline it recently released on the Korean version of the app.
Tumblr media
Like... this is shit WT shouldn't have even been allowing to fly under the radar to begin with. The bar is on the floor. I also love how the creators of Get Schooled admitted to the fact that they were raised in a homogenous society but still thought they were up to the task of "bringing the issue [of multicultural racism] to light", when they, in fact, do the complete OPPOSITE within that episode by suggesting, "actually, if you're mixed race then you're the REAL bad guy, it's the pureblood Koreans who are the oppressed minority, there are so many immigrants these days!!" And "stopping hatred" sure is a big claim when the entire point of their comic is combatting hatred with hatred, or in Get Schooled's case, bullying with corporal punishment.
Yikes. Big fucking yikes.

Only thing really stopping folks from that god-tier comedy is the canon that the Wilderness Trio's time together at that school is all illusory (like, literally all made up in their minds by Hera's clownery) and Leo thinking his pyrokinesis is a curse due to him believing it contributed to his mother's death. But honestly, I've seen fanfic twist crazier parts of canon to make it work, so you could just write the second bit off as Hera meddling w memories. Canon divergence for all. - Heckhead
My guess the reason no one revisits the Wilderness Trio is because (people think) Jason is too "bland" and Jason x Piper also being mid next to the gold-standard pairing that is Percy x Annabeth. Personally, I think they're sleeping on absolute gold; Jason Grace fulfills a very important niche in the CHB ecosystem, and The BAD Thing That Happens to Him in the Third Series is a war crime. - Heckhead
i mean tbh the fact that it was all fake in canon should be EVEN MORE REASON to fuck with it. like this sandbox is wide open START BUILDING. and i mean yea the thing w leo's mom is a reason for him to be iffy about fire powers but like. suspension of disbelief i feel like the audience could be convinced that if both jason and piper are admitting to some weird powers that, as far as they know, literally no one else in the world has, leo might admit to his and just not mention the whole mom fire thing. that can come up later down the line and be angsty and shit lol
people only think jason's bland bc he's not Marvel Quippy like we all got spoiled by percy jackson's inner monologue for five books and then jason comes in and is his own character (quelle surprise) and people missed percy's wit n humor. but like shit there's a lot of interesting places to go with him maybe because he's a little bit blank-slate straight man protagonist, compared to percy (i haven't reread past the lost hero so idr if the blankness kinda goes away once he regains his memory). besides iirc in the series i did not read, piper dates a girl, sooo explorations of comphet and/or her sexuality without MIST MEDDLING would be another direction to take this. like fuck, y'all, the niche is open and the sandbox is empty.

"Black Magic" *Epilogue*
Alright y'all, I'm kinda sorta really proud of this one, to be honest with you.
I'm letting you know RIGHT NOW, if you haven't heard this song before you need to listen to it to experience the chapter the way it was meant to be read. And yes a girl sings it but SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF okay here people? Can you do that for me?
Also I made a separate post about a potential sequel, and now that you'll have read this epilogue you'll have a more educated opinion.
So I'm just going to link the post here. Please let me know either way what you think!

=========================================
One month later
You walked out onto the quad of Julliard, Rafael met you outside your last class with roses in hand.
"Ah, carino!" He greeted you in a very loud, very overdramatic tone as he grabbed you and spun you in his arms, pulling you into such a deep kiss some people passing by stopped and applauded.
"What the--" You pulled away from him, shocked and confused. This felt very familiar…..
"Happy one month, mi amor," he grinned, putting you down.
"Ohhhhhhhh I get it." You realized he was reenacting the moment your relationship "started".
"Ha ha," You rolled your eyes with a smile.
"Alright, now get in carino," he handed you a blindfold and pointed to a nice black town car waiting for you.
"Uh….Rafa you know I'm as kinky as the next girl, but "kidnapped" is not in my preferred fantasies…." You gave him a look.
"Well I want it to be a surprise" He pouted.
"But I already don't know where we're going” You played with his hair.
"But you will" He opened the door for you.
Well that gave you a pretty big hint, but you humored him.
"Alright, but if I end up in a firing squad, I'm gonna be super pissed." You rolled your eyes with another laugh while he put your blindfold on and helped you in the car.
"Here this will calm your nerves baby," he handed you a glass. You sniffed it.
"What do you think it's poison?" He joked. "Or do I need to add some serum in there?"
"If you add any mood enhancer in me I think I'd literally chain myself to you or something," You snickered as you drank the contents of the glass. You quickly realized the taste of champagne.
"I wouldn't mind that," You felt him take your hand.
"Trust me, it would get old fast," You assured him.
"Alright we're here." He announced after a few minutes of riding. He helped you out of the car. You could hear sounds of nature, a few people talking.
"Hmmm…..forest?" You teased.
"In the middle of Manhattan?" Rafael chuckled.
"Park!" You exclaimed happily.
Rafael said nothing. Your smile grew bigger as he kept leading you, you knew exactly where you were going. Soon the smell of chlorinated water confirmed your suspicions.
"Oh are we at the Y?" You joked, referring to the pool water smell.
"Ha ha," you could hear him rolling his eyes in his tone of voice while he removed the blindfold. It took you a few moments to adjust to the sunlight, but when you regained your full vision, you were exactly where you thought you would be:
The fountain in the middle of Central Park, where you two had lunch on your perfect day.
"Awwww, Raffi," You spun around to hug him, but realized he was carrying a huge handle bag with him.
"Oh my god," you gasped. "Is that…?'
"Maria's food, yes," he nodded as he put the food down on the fountain.
"Yay! I still haven't had food that even compares to it" you clapped your hands together And giggled as you helped pull out the food.
“...You realize what this is, right?” Rafael asked as you dove right into the food.
"..... Anniversary Lunch?" You said through mouthfuls of food.
"It's a do over"
"A do over?" You looked at him curiously as you shoved food into your mouth.
"Yeah, of our first time here," He nodded, taking an empanada for himself.
"....Did it really need a do over?" You asked. You thought it was a pretty perfect day. In fact, that's the only way you were referring to it as.
"Well, I just wanted--- I wanted you to know that we'd be here regardless." He took your hand and squeezed it with a small smile.
"I was under your spell a long time before you slipped something in my coffee, mi amor." As he finished his sentence, you saw a man with a guitar start playing a song.
You bit your lip and swallowed your food in a giant gulp.
"Oh my god…" You whispered. And before you could think or speak anything else; Rafael Barba, the pompous, stuffy ADA began singing to you:
I lived my life in shadow, never the sun on my face.
It didn't seem so sad though, I figured that was my place.
He took your hand as he sang the first verse then stood up on the fountain in front of everyone as he started the next verse.
Now I'm bathed in light. Something just isn't right.
He pulled you up to stand on the fountain with him as he started the chorus.
I'm under your spell.
How else could it be, anyone would notice me?
It's magic, I can tell.
How you set me free, brought me out so easily.
He danced with you around the fountain during the chorus, and as he started the next line he took your hand and began leading you through the park, the guitar player following quickly behind.
I saw a whole world enchanted, spirits and charms in the air,
and I always took for granted, I was the only one there.
But your power shone, brighter than any I've known.
He pointed out random spots in the path in front of you, butterflies flew out of bushes as if on cue, he threw glitter out of his pocket as he sang. The whole thing was straight out of a Broadway show, and you two were the stars. He had such a gorgeous voice, it made you a bit sad that he had to give up his dream so long ago. But perhaps this was him getting it back, even just a little.
I'm under your spell.
Nothing I can do, you just took my soul with you.
You worked your charm so well,
Finally I knew, everything I dreamed was true.
You made me believe.
There was an instrumental interlude as you reached some stairs, twinkle lights lit up the entire pathway as Rafael led you down towards the Penguin Cave. As you entered, you saw that the entire enclosure had been strung with twinkle lights, the penguins glass tank glowed beneath them. Your eyes began to tear up just as he started singing the last verse.
The moon to the tide, I can feel you inside.
I'm under your spell.
Surging like the sea, drawn to you so helplessly.
I break with every swell,
Lost in eustasy, spread beneath a Willow tree.
You make me complete…..
You glanced behind you to see Chloe, Maria, and shockingly the Charmed ones and Harry. Well, they did help you get here-- kind of. You were sure they wanted to see how this played out.
“Y/N…” Rafael pulled you closer as the guitarist stopped playing. “Fairy tales are supposed to end with ‘true love’s kiss’, but ours started with one. I know that-- we haven’t been officially ‘together’ for very long, but I feel like I’ve loved you for a lifetime,”
You were telling yourself not to cry, you had your makeup perfect today. You fanned your eyes trying to save your eyeliner as Rafael presented you with a rock.
“....Oh,” You sounded more disappointed than you had meant to, you threw a hand over your face. “Oh God, I mean it’s--” You tried to backtrack and tell him the whole ‘pebble for a penguin’ thing was quite romantic, but he just chuckled and got down on one knee, revealing that the rock was actually a box containing a huge diamond ring.
“Be my penguin, Y/N?” He was tearing up himself. “¿Casémonos?” He just HAD to ask it in spanish, didn’t he? He knew how much you loved it.
“Yes, yes, yes yes YES a million times YES!” You squealed in delight as he slipped the ring on your finger and spun you around in a deep kiss, your spectators breaking into cheers and applause.
After a few moments of kissing and crying in each other’s embrace, Rafael pulled back and looked at your absolutely ruined face.
"...You had no idea what I was asking you in Spanish, did you? What if I was asking you to make a suicide pact with me?" He smirked.
"I mean, I had some pretty big context clues" You held up your now engagement ring wearing hand.
He took it in his own and pulled you towards the tank wall, where you could see Penny and...another penguin?
“I...I don’t…?” You looked from him to the penguin couple, back to him.
“So apparently, our tax dollars go towards ‘advanced penguin AI’,” He chuckled, looking at the two happy penguins. You noticed “Leonard” looked just a little bit...off. “He’s a penguin android, if you can believe it,” He shook his head while still chuckling. “They got some of Leonard’s things so that he smells like him, and voila! Leonard the Second,”
“...She got a second chance at love,” You whispered, watching the couple swimming; Penny looked so happy.
“She did indeed,” He nodded. “And now it’ll last forever,”
“Just like magic,” You smiled, stroking his hair.
“Like magic,” He agreed, kissing you again. Your kissing silhouette was lit up by the twinkle lights and the image of penguins all swimming in happiness. Just like a movie.
Just like magic.

May Reading Wrap Up
I'm actually really proud of myself. I finished 13 books last month. Spent a lot of extra time away from screens and focusing on my mental health so I burned through way more than I normally would. So anyways, here's my reviews. - Also please understand that these are just my opinions and if I shit on your favorite book I'm sorry that I didn't enjoy it as much as you. Also, also Im terrible with character names.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor ⭐⭐⭐
I actually started this book at the end of April but didn't finish it til May 1st so whatever, here it is. This books is a YA urban fantasy novel about a girl with a double life. She spends half her days studying art in Europe and the other half running errands for a tooth collecting wish monger. I don't want to say a whole lot more because I dont want to spoil anything important about the plot. So, I'll try to be vague. Let me start by saying this story is amazing. I loved the writing and the world. I rated it so low solely because I can't stand the two main characters and it really dragged down what would have otherwise been an amazing novel. So yeah, great book but its a preference thing. Also took points off for the insta-love but not really insta-love shit. Idk. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this read even a month later. Gonna read the second to see if maybe my hatred of the two mains was just a fluke.
3/5 Stars
Spellbound by Rachel Hawkins
⭐⭐⭐
This is the third book in the Hex Hall trilogy. Not much to say about it. It was a meh ending to an overall pretty good series. 3/5 stars. Moving on.
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw
⭐⭐⭐
Realizing now how many of my reads this month were pretty middle of the world. Hopefully next month will be filled with 4 and 5 stars. Anyways, this book was honestly a struggle for me to finish and Im not sure why. It's a YA mystery magical realism story about a tiny coastal town that is cursed by the spirits of 3 sisters who were suspected of witchcraft and drowned 2 centuries prior. Because of this, every year the sisters return from the sea to take the lives of teenage boys by luring them to the sea. We follow the life of kind of meh and standard YA girl #1. She meets a strange non tourist boy and hires him to work in the lighthouse her family owns. Her dad randomly disappeared years ago and her mom is a loon. So yeah... I dont know. I kind of felt like this story was hot garbage in places. I usually dont have any trouble with the suspense of disbelief in magical realism stories but this one just had too many plot holes. Like, I get morbid stuff becomes tourist attractions but why wouldn't someone have stepped in and evacuated the town if at least 3 teenage boys die there EVERY SINGLE YEAR without fail? I honestly feel like the FBI or some other government agency would have cleared the place out after the first 20 or so deaths. There was also the whole MC can see the ghosts of the girls possessing people but chooses not to tell anyone? Like, I get it. You dont want people to label you a freak or think you're crazy but come the fuck on. You live in a tourist trap where people flock to watch local teenage males wash up on shore and you really think the authorities arent going to take you up on the help? It wasn't an awful book by any means. It was well written and extremely descriptive. Just had major beef with some of the details. Anyways, I wont say much more so I don't spoil the whole book.
3/5 Stars
An Enchantment of Ravens by Maragret Rogerson
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Finally, I get to talk about one of my favorite reads of the month. I love anything to do with the Fae in my YAfiction and this was literally everything I wanted in a Fae novel. It takes place in a town called Whimsy, a humanish town in the world of Faerie. The fae cannot do any Craft, or what we would consider craftsmanship. Art and humans who can do it well are very precious in this world because the Fae can't ever do it themselves. We follow the adventures of a girl who has been commisioned to paint the portrait of the Autumn King and the chaos that ensues. Let me just start by saying this is one of those insta-love situations where I feel like it's genuinely ok. I might be making excuses because I loved the title so much but whatever. It's explained and I accept it. Also, I realize that Gadfly had a lovely description but my brain willl not let me picture him as anything but Mr.Waternoose from Monsters Inc.
5/5 Stars
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
⭐⭐⭐
This book started out so good and went downhill very quickly. It follows the story of these two magicians who were fated by their Master's to one day fight to the death. There were so many things I loved about this book only for the last 100 pages to just take a firey dump on my face. I loved the setting and the majority of the characters. The supporting characters were so deep and interesting that I almost cared more about them than I did Ceilia and Marko (Im proabably wrong and I dont feel like googling but I think that was his name) . I don't know. I don't want to complain about anymore meh books.
3/5 Stars
Matched by Allie Condie
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Went into this book expecting to hate it. I usually don't like contemporary love stories but this had major City of Ember meets The Giver vibes and it just appealed to that 14 year old girl in me again. That seems to happen with a lot of dystopian utopia stories. Anyways, story is about a girl who lives in this town where when you hit a certain age you are brought to a place and told who the government has chosen for you to marry. She is matched with her life long best friend and all is well. Except that her little Get To Know Your New Husband microship thing showed her two guys instead of just one. And lots of bullshit ensues. I honestly think I rated this so high because I enjoy the world and not so much whats actually happening to the kids. Like, I loved the idea that art is harmful so the government chose 100 acceptable pieces and thats all these people know. I loved the brutality of the government in general. I can't say much more without spoiling some of the twists but geez did it have me hooked. I'm going to be started the second one soonish, though my TBR for June has gotten intense so we will see.
4/5 stars
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I cannot say enough good things about this book. It is so fucking good! Not going to rant about it or anything because y'all just need to go read it immediately.
5/5 stars
Would give it every star in the sky if Im being completely honest.
Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh
⭐⭐
Got sucked into this book by the cover and honestly that was the best part of this book. Its about this world where necromancy is pretty highly regarded and used to resurrect the royals after they die. The only downside is that if a living person ever lays eyes on the resurrected person's skin then they turn into these horrible monsters. Maybe it's just me but like that absolutely does not seem worth the risk. Plus, in order to bring the person back, these reapers have to go into the death world and bring the spirit back. And it's HELLA DANGEROUS. So like, WHY? Anyways, there is this stupid underlying love story that I absolutely wasn't invested in. This just all around was not a good book.
2/5 stars
Monster High by Lisi Harrison
⭐⭐
Little known fact~ I'm obsessed with Monster High and Ever After High. So yeah, I realize this wasn't targeted to me as an adult but even going into it with an open mind I was disappointed. Granted I didn't read the description of the book prior. I just saw this franchise I love and grabbed it. First, if you are a fan of the mini series and the movies do not read this. It doesnt follow the cinematic canon and I think that was my biggest problem with it. Frankie's character was all wrong and I hated the whole"Normy" cast. Was really excited for these but I definitely won't be continuing the series. I don't even want to torture myself with seeing how they manage to ruin my sweet baby Draculara.
2/5 stars
Unhinged by AG Howard
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I can't say enough good things about this series. This is the second book in the trilogy and it was a fanatstic bridge book. It had me engrossed through the entire audiobook. Morpheus is still everything. If you loved Splintered I would highly reccomend continuing.
5/5 stars
Truthwitch
⭐⭐
Have had this on my TBR for a while because of how many Booktubers have hyped the series. Buy, was I disappointed. I was soooooooooo bored. Maybe it's because I don't really enjoy this type of fantasy or maybe it was just the slower paced story but I just slugged through this book. Both of the main female characters were bland to me and I didn't care about their friendship. The world was cool but not enough to keep me invested. Just wasn't my cup of tea.
2/5 stars
Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
⭐⭐⭐
Picked this up because of how much I loved The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein and it didn't meet my expectations. It follows this girl who works for a paranormal gorvenment group. She has a special ability that makes her really useful to them so they are trying to groom her basically. They capture this changeling and she befriends him and there is an overarching plot that I just didn't get invested in. The friendship between the two main characters was pretty much the only thing that I enjoyed in this title. The mother figure was insufferable and I just didn't really understand the whole org that they worked for in general. Not an awful book but not fantastic.
Solid 3/5 stars.
The Siren by Kiera Cass
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Going to preface this by saying I might be biased. I love Kiera Cass and have enjoyed almost everything she has written. That said, this wasn't nearly as good as The Selection series but it was a pretty good stand alone novel. It about a girl who becomes a siren on her deathbed and spends the next 100 years serving the sea by luring people to their deaths. After doing this for 70 years, she falls in love and pretty much ruins everything. Loved the characters, especially the male lead. The insta love was a little pet peeve of mine but the love interest was so sweet and genuine that I was willing to overlook it. Pretty good read if you dig supernatural romance.
4/5 stars
June holds the Ghibli-a-thon but also lots of holidays for my family so we will see how much I actually get read. So far my tentative TBR is 5 books but we will see where the days take me.

HEALING RAVI - CHAPTER SEVEN
Hellllooooooo~~~~!!!!
Anybody want a Ravi chapter??
Its full of unicorns and rainbows~~ and a tiny bit of suspense!!
I hope y'all like it! ❤❤❤
🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
She could do nothing but stare at Wonshik. Her heart was going to fall out of her chest, she was sure of it. She told herself that he must mean as a friend or as a colleague.
She watched as his face fell considerably and he lowered his head.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. We were just having a good time and I thought the timing was right. You don’t have to answer.”
He started to remove his arms from around her but she stopped him. She needed him close or she would lose her nerve.
“What exactly are you saying, Wonshik?” She was embarrassed to ask but she needed clarification.
“What I’m saying is that I like you–a lot. I felt drawn to you ever since I carried you out of that building. Thats why I was in the room with you when you woke up. I didn’t want to leave you. I still don’t.” He held her gaze in his, silently begging her not to look away.
“But, why? I–I’m not exactly the most ideal person. I have too much baggage Wonshik.” She was becoming hyper aware of how close he was. Every inch of her body that touched his tingled. It was a strange feeling for her.we But, she liked it.
“I exercise a lot. I can carry it for you.” He gave her a goofy grin and she couldn’t help but smile. But, his face quickly turned serious as his blue eyes shone brilliantly. “I know you’ve been through a lot. I’m not going to push you into anything. I just really needed to tell you before I exploded. But I swear I can make you happy. I will follow whatever you say you want. But please believe me when I say that I am not like that poor excuse of a hybrid that made your life a living hell. I wont hold you against your will. If…if you don’t like me back, its okay. I will just take care of you in my own way as a friend and it wont go any further than that.”
Tears began streaming down her cheeks and she tried in vain to wipe them away. Finally, she gave up and fully wrapped her arms around his waist and cried.
“Whoa, whoa, please don’t cry, sweetie. I’m sorry. I wont bring it up again, I promise.” His hand went to the back of her head and smoothed her hair. He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t want her to cry.
“I like you, too.” Her voice was muffled against the hard planes of his chest and he wasn’t sure if he heard her correctly.
“What?”
She raised her head to look at him, her cheeks stained with tears.
“I said I like you too.”
He was in disbelief for only a few seconds before a slow smile formed on his face. His blue eyes sparkled and she was lost in them.
He circled his long arms around her waist and pulled her to him in an all-consuming hug. His head lowered to her shoulder and he laughed. A few seconds later he picked her up and twirled her around in a circle. She held onto his shoulders and giggled. When he set her back down on the floor, she hid her face in his chest.
-Were they together now? What do I do? Should I ask him? No, thats embarrassing.-
She didn’t know how to proceed from here. What was she supposed to do? He said he would follow what she wanted but she had no idea what that would be.
“Is your heartbeat going crazy because you’re happy, or is it something else?” His deep voice was next to her ear and it caused goosebumps to form on her skin.
“Happy.” She still kept her head tucked into his chest. He laughed at her actions.
“Hmm, thats good, then. So are you ever going to look at me again? Not that I mind you hugging me all the time, but I would like to see your face.”
Slowly, she raised her head to look at him. Instantly, her heart calmed and her hands stopped shaking. His eyes crinkled as he smiled at her.
“Better?”
“I forgot that you could do that.” She was thankful that his abilities as a wolf could set her at ease. All she had to do was look at his eyes and he could project feelings of calm to her.
“Too bad it doesn’t work on myself.” He took her wrist and placed her hand on his chest over his heart. The usual steady rythym was replaced with an accelerated beat. She looked at him and giggled.
“Why are you laughing? This is because of you, you know.”
“I just think its funny that I can affect the big bad wolf this way. Its a nice feeling.” Apparently, he had calmed her enough for her to say whatever was on her mind.
“I don’t think thats an accurate description.” His blue eyes flashed playfully and she giggled again.
She was about to reply when the sound of glass shattering made her scream instead. In an instant, Wonshik had her on the floor, his body covering hers in an effort to protect her from whatever had happened. After a few second of panic-filled silence, he raised his head to look at her.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?” He leaned his body back to look over her. She blushed but shook her head.
“No, I think I’m okay. What was that?”
“I have no idea. The window broke, I think.” He rose to his feet and helped her up to stand next to him. A couple of feet away, a brick lay on the floor, surrounded by shards of glass. She looked at the window, now in shambles, but didn’t see anyone. Wonshik looked at the mess and sighed.
“Stay right there while I clean this up, you might get cut by the glass.”
When he walked a couple of steps ahead of her, she noticed a patch of red quickly spreading along his shoulder.
“Wonshik, you’re bleeding!” She came forward and tried to grab his arm.
“I know. Let me get this up first. I don’t want you to accidentally step on the glass.”
“Kim Wonshik, get your butt over here and sit down.” She left no room for argument. He turned towards her and raised an eyebrow. She willed herself to stand firm. He slowly slid his eyes down to her feet and then back up, causing her heartbeat to flipflop. His blue eyes were bright, almost glowing.
“Yes ma'am.” He walked towards her and stood just inches from her. She took his hand and led him to the couch. He sat down and she sat behind him. She tried to locate the cut but there was too much blood on his shirt.
“Take your shirt off while I get something to wash the blood off. I need to see it before I can heal it.”
He was trying hard not to be turned on by her authoritative tone and blush at the same time. Although heat crept into his cheeks, he followed her orders and removed his shirt. The action sent pain to his shoulder and he winced. She returned with a cloth from the bathroom and began wiping away the blood from his shoulder. Every so often her fingers would graze his skin and he could feel goosebumps appear.
“Okay, just sit still while I heal this, okay?” He nodded and he felt her hand on his shoulder, right over the cut. He closed his eyes and reveled in the feeling. Eventhough she was healing him, she was touching him willingly. Her heart was calm and her aura was focused. He wanted her to be able to do that without being distracted by the healing. He wanted her to come to him willingly and unafraid. He was falling deeper and deeper, he knew that.
“Okay, all done. It’ll be a bit sore for a couple hours but the cut is gone.”
He turned to her and smiled. “Thank you. You didn’t have to do that.”
“Well, I can’t just sit here while you’re injured and not do anything about it. What kind of girlfriend would I be?” Her last sentence was almost inaudible, but he had heard it. She knew he would, with his enhanced hearing.
“Girlfriend? Hmm, yeah, that sounds really good.” He noticed that she was looking everywhere but at him. With the task of healing him out of the way, she was back to her shy, nervous self. He decided that it was utterly adorable.
“I want to hug you, but I think I should grab another shirt first.” He stood and went over to his makeshift storage closet and drew out a tshirt. He could literally feel her relax after he was fully clothed again. He cursed MinJeong for hurting her. He could be patient and go at her speed, but that didn’t mean he was happy about why.
“So, who do you think did that?” She pointed towards the window and he shrugged.
“I have a few theories but let’s get you home first so we don’t have to worry about them coming back. Taekwoon hyung is still visiting his parents with Noona so we can hang out there instead. I’ll call somebody to fix the window.” He leaned down, took her hand, and pulled her from the couch.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, I can clean this up later.” He guided her towards the door and grabbed their bags. He hugged her to his side, not allowing an inch between them.
“Besides, all I really want to do right now is curl up next to you and watch a movie.”
