So ive seen people trash talking others who are excited about the prospect of aliens (being real) and i ask. Who among us would be immune . to the thought of meeting another life. Getting to see the universe from a different equally intellegent perspective? How many of our views would overlap?? How many concepts would be completely different than ours? when you think about it there’s not too much to really go on in canon when it comes to bb + ocelot’s actual dynamic/relationship (and i’m still insane and unwell over them unfortunately)

we never get to see how snake treats or thinks of ocelot after they become allies, outside of a few tapes, a short cutscene, and the way bb talks about him at the end of mgs4.

there’s their first meeting in 1964. then an eight year length of time we don’t get to see where they were in contact in some capacity (judging by zero’s later “known him ten years” comment i think we can assume they made contact not too long after snake eater) and helped form the patriots/cipher. then 1972, snake leaves the patriots. ocelot loses track of snake “for a while” while he performs mercenary work. 1975, snake goes into a coma. 1984, ocelot is with big boss for a while after he wakes up, they part ways after two weeks, and ocelot starts hanging out with the phantom. but at some point he starts regularly calling the real big boss, or at least recording messages for him to inform him of diamond dogs events. and then… we don’t truly know what ocelot was doing until 1999.

ocelot could’ve met up with snake again, but then again, maybe he didn’t. in a series with so many retcons and details that were added later, it’s kind of impossible to say what really happened, since ocelot’s dedication to and the true extent of his feelings towards big boss weren’t plot points until mgs3. when mg1/2 were made, ocelot didn’t even exist as a character, so could he have been in outer heaven? in zanzibarland? we will never know.

#it is interesting how it’s like… such a big plot point in the end #half the shit that happens wouldn’t happen if ocelot wasn’t so dedicated to taking down the patriots and bringing bb back #but we never truly learn about the extent of their relationship or see them interact #outside of the things i mentioned #even though it’s clear ocelot is not just like. some guy snake doesn’t care about #by 1984 he’s the only person he 100% trusts #and yeah it’s kinda process of elimination bc everyone else has done something he didn’t like #but. still #mgs #★
