"In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan
Earth stood hard as iron
Water like a stone
Snow had fallen
Snow on snow on snow
In the bleak midwinter
Long, long ago"
I really wanted to post a Christmas illustration so here's my favourite scene from the entirety of BBC Ghosts in honour of its last ever episode today!
It makes me cry so much every time I watch it and it sums up Christmas so perfectly ❤️

if ghosts are real (hear me out) then imagine all the ghosts at west horsley place looking at the six idiots playing ghosts
they would be sooo bloody confused
i can imagine a thomas-y one being like "do they mock us so??"

okay ive not seen anyone else talk about this yet so im going to, but something about kitty's sister not just not being the one to kill her, but also apologising for everything she's done to her is so cathartic. like obviously this isnt going to mean eleanor should be forgiven yet but hearing and seeing her truly be upset for how she has treated kitty actually made me sob. and i know kitty had a skewed memory of her sisters behaviour towards her but still the fact that she never got to hear the apology or even have a chance to accept it really hurts

Thomas’s grand tour day 6:
We visited some ghosts today! Last year in May, I took Tiny Thomas to West Horsley Place on his first grand tour and now, ten months later, we went back. The Nook and Crannies tour was fantastic! We were the first group that got to see a new room that wasn’t open to the public before, learned all about the latest research and, of course, haunted some familiar places in the house and gardens. My favourite spots are definitely the library, the little nook that "leads" to the Plague Ghosts' cellar, Thomas’s tree and, of course, Thomas’s well. It was lovely to see the trees starting to bloom and to explore the grounds at the time of year when Ghosts used to be filmed.
If you ever get the chance to visit this wonderful house, do it. It has such a rich and interesting history on top of being our beloved Button House that I promise you won't regret it.

i've had a couple months to ponder it and now, i think, the ending to ghosts couldnt have been much better, really.
people will probably disagree with me (fair) but i dont think it needed anyone to be sucked off or anything (i expected someone was gonna go but it sorta made sense that noone did) because it just rounded it off, didnt it.
like, in the series 5 ep 6 when julian is making is whole speech abt why he was glad he pushed alison and everything he wasnt convincing alison to stay. he was just explaining himself. i believe he said "but you- do as you must". and at that point she hadnt had mia so the best option was to stay.
so then in the christmas episode, the ghosts realise that alison needed to get into a normal family situation (because she had mia now), and she couldnt deal with being with them all the time. which is the whole point, i guess- theyre family, like mike's mum. and she loves them all the more because theyre not in her face constantly. the detail 'usual room' is bloody great.
anyway sorry for the rant.
