Hello....I'm Kiki (he/it), 30 years old, did you know there's pokemon the normal person doesn't even know exist? I am a self proclaimed 'missing number' and 'glitch' pokemon expert, having officialy and properly studied these creatures since my late teens, though ive been encountering them since i was younger. I will not be revealing where I currently live, what I have done to obtain these pokemon, nor the names of anyone i know in real life. Though I am originally from Cinnabar Island, where I first encountered a 'missing number'

I assume I should tell you about my team now.

Javascript the Charmander, lvl 85 - yes she is a Charmander, no I will not be revealing why she looks like a bulbasaur, yes she is still a fire type, no she cannot evolve.

HTML the Nidoking, lvl 100 - yes he is really level 100. He is also incredibly shy, please do not send mail with the intent to scare him. It's a shame I even have to ask that

C the Gengar, lvl 285 - he is lvl 285, why is that so hard to believe? I don't really see him often as he likes to watch from the shadows.

Mewthree the Mew, lvl 1 - I am not entirely sure this is a mew, despite what the pokedex tells me. Sounds like a zapdos and only knows transform. Rather sweet which is surprising.

Perl the ???, lvl unknown - a 'missing number' taking the form of a ghost, I don't know it's specific classification nor its level, it is not registered to me yet follows me around very closely.

BAD EGG the egg, no lvl - this was once a breloom named Python, I am unsure what happened to cause Python to revert back to her egg state, nor why she is registered as 'bad egg' but I hope to rehatch her soon.

Kanto general plot wise is probably the least chaotic and by that I mean things are off the wall. It like. Seems normal at first. Just a normal Pokemon story. And then things slowly seem more and more off it’s eerie. Specifically around Team Rocket and Mewtwo, and of course timeline shenanigans that don’t get fully answered until Johto rolls around.

See, while it’s just a normal story about rivals on Red and Blue’s perspective, Leaf, feeling left out of the rivalry, gets to explore the region. And most of the worldbuilding gets told on her side while Red and Blue are out doing more interpersonal stuff that involves pokemon. Like Kanto is all about what makes Pokémon, well, Pokémon initially. Battling, reading, creating bones with your Pokémon and making memories.

Of course not everything is butterfree and rainbows, again, things do begin to spiral out of control that the main two are helpless to the lore.

Bill’s there and Mew has a bone to pick and Mewtwo sure is being made in the background. Giovanni is busy being Giovanni and eventually finds out things he shouldn’t and is working towards upsetting the universe’s less than delicate balance.

But while Leaf is running around in the background and trying to warn Red and Blue of the horrors she’s found out about, Red is too busy thinking about what his pikachu are that day and what remains of his collection, and Blue is too busy giving her death threats and asking which team she thinks kicks more ass (it’s Reds)

And things get BAD because of it as a result. Giovanni loses to Red in a raid and he’s fucking PISSED but it’s ok he has another plan (make a timeline where he wins. It’s a concept in kanto but timeline shenanigans don’t get fully fleshed out and explained until Johto). They gotta go bother articuno zapdos and moltres and they really don’t wanna help out but also the world is at the balance so I guess they can help mere mortals. Somewhere along the way Red gets fucked up but things will get worked out.

Because they all live by Blue’s words of wisdom: “Fuck it we ball”

As for Johto kids, I’ve talked at length what Ethan and Kris are about but what is going on up in Silver and Kris land?

Silver is probably the most canon compliant character. A guy who wants to destroy his shitty Dad’s shitty company. Except for the fact that he is basically siblings with Mewtwo.

Mewtwo was his dad’s creation, and while he already has reasons to hate his dad for everything he’s done, he also wants to get revenge for his sibling’s pain and suffering. He even lost his eye trying to rescue it.

He’s a lot more keen and stoic. Sure he may act like a cool guy despite being inherently clumsy but that’s just kind of how he’s grown to become. Silver is an alias after all, but it’s a name he’s chosen because it radiates the same energy as those kids who thwarted team rocket. He’s determined to become their ruin and send fear into their spine at the mention of his name.

He doesn’t kill. But he wants to be feared.

Along the he way he’ll start considering Ethan as his “partner”. Not a romantic one, but moreso in a shounen anime way. They butt heads a lot and silver especially acts very abrasive towards Ethan initially. But also they’ve taken down team rocket together multiple times and he knows he’s got his back. It’s a relationship he treasures a lot and something he’s never had, even with Mewtwo.

He and his friendship with Ethan and Lyra and Kris is the first form of love and compassion he’s felt, that again, isn’t from his sibling.

As for Lyra, she’s mostly oblivious to her place in the world as someone who took the place of another. She’s mostly kind of hanging around until she finds out. In which case everything gets ruined for her. She starts to question everything she knows and feels OVERWHELMING guilt for taking Kris’s place in the world. Like she cares A LOT. Not just about the situation but in general so it’s eating her from the inside out.

And when Kris has her penultimate villain minute, when she gets the opportunity to take her rightful place back, she doesn’t fight back because she thinks everything is her fault. She blames herself for being oblivious. When nothing is her fault and got caught in the crossfire. Even when

Especially since she shows nothing but love for life. She is the sun to everyone’s life while her doppelganger lives in her shadow. Her journey of self discovery ended with her

Even now she WANTS to be Kris’s friend. She thinks of her as a sister. She doesn’t know if she’s disillusioned with good memories that she doesn’t want to put in retrospect, or if everything they’ve been through together was genuine. But she still believes in wanting to be friends with her. Again, she loves the world so much.

And when Kris does ultimately get a body that isn’t Lyra’s, Lyra would be the first to offer her hand. She is the first to welcome Lyra back into life.

Ultimately her story is sort of Ophelia aligned; even if it doesn’t end in complete tragedy.

Hey everyone! In the wake of All That Mayhem we all just endured, it looks to me like its time for a LAB UPDATE!

Er... first of all a big thanks to @battlelegendsredandblue for taking the time to come out and help out the Glitch City Labs with their Weather Trio Torchic problem. There's a lot of water damage at the lab and a lot of cleanup to do, but it looks like things are turning around now that it isn't pouring rain.

That said HERE'S an update into everything else we have going on here.

First of all, the lab is welcoming a new slightly accidental addition to the team, Meet Rascal the 94!

[ID- A photo is uploaded of a large golden plumed, bird like pokemon. It seems slightly etherial, and its bright golden plumage sports a bizzare pattern, that even in this presumably SAFE picture is still very hard to look at or focus on. The pokemon seems slightly ethereal, like it might have the ability to turn incorporeal if it wanted to.]

94 is a relative of the Missingno family. Like the common Missingno it has the ability to effect items that are near it when its stressed or curious, but UNLIKE Missingno, instead of duplicating items it transmutes them instead! For example, this persim berry used to be a DexNav!c

Fascinating! And Expensive!

Another interesting facet of 94 is their coloration. You might not be able to tell from the photo, but the plumage of a 94 is constantly shifting, and tends to change based on its mood, whether or not its stressed, and sometimes depending on whatever opponent it is facing in battle. Some of these patterns can produce a potent visual toxin when viewed from behind, so it is recommended to train it while using goggles.

It isn't lethal, but it DOES feel like getting poked in the eyes, and I can confirm it is NOT very pleasant.

This pokemon also has a great deal of volatile energy, and needs to be consistently trained in order to make sure it doesn't cause a surge. I have successfully trained it out of this tendency once so far, but it will have to be done several times in order to ensure it doesn't try to pick up the habit again.

Rascal will be a tentative member of my team for now. I am working on acclimating it to the other lab members and its new surroundings. Luckily Pidgey (which are for some reason a pokemon it tends to consider a major threat) are not very common in this region, so acclimation is going smoothly so far.

MOVING ON I'm sure what you're all interested to hear about is the status of the Many Torchic Eggs that were delivered to the lab over the course of the last few days. Here is their status so far

[Photo of three unhatched Torchic Eggs. One is strangely reflective looking, a second one is purple and levitating and the third is patterned like a Zapdos. The Zapdos patterned one has a few cracks in it, and looks like it is getting closer to hatching. The other two do not look as far along.]

So far these three eggs have not hatched yet. The first two were recieved more recently and have yet to complete their egg cycles, while the third just seems to have taken a longer time to hatch.

In the mean time, as for the ones that HAVE hatched

[Image of Five Torchic sitting together on the lab table. One is a completely normal torchic. The second is a very strange looking one that seems to distort the camera a bit. It has a bizarre green, red and beige pattern to it, that makes it look almost like it has simply loaded in the wrong color pallet. Its collision with the table also doesn't seem to be quite right, as it seems to be slightly clipping into the table. The third is a bright blue torchic, that, while it doesn't appear to be aquatic, it does seem to be emitting a few embers of a bright blue flame. The fourth is a scaly, fish like Torchic that appears to have fins in the place of wings. And the fifth is bright pink and levitating with a long, lithe tail curled slightly beneath it.] We were incredibly relieved to find that the blue egg simply contained a blue torchic and not another Kyogre Torchic or something of the like. It does have a strangely blue tinged flame, but otherwise it seems mostly like a normal torchic.

The Glitched Torchic we've determined is very similar to an unhatched torchic being accessed via temporal manipulation. It can interact with the world, but it tends to pass through things or clip into things as if it isn't sure they are there yet. Raising this one is likely going to be a challenge and as such it will be staying at the lab.

The aquatic one is very similar to the one born at Glitch City's lab. Air breathing, but able to hold its breath for long periods of time and highly acclimated to living in the water. It retains its typing as a fire/water type here in Hoenn.

The final one though is the one that concerns me the most. As you can probably see, it seems to bare a very close resemblance to the Kanto mythical pokemon Mew. Upon hatching it actually disappeared for a time, but it's reappeared now and keeps... floating and staring at me. Like it's trying to read my mind.

It's a little unnerving...

Anyway this is becoming an incredibly long lab update! I'll update you all about the Espurr eggs once they are hatched. We've recieved quite a few both at the lab, and a few had to be retrieved from the Glitch City labs for safety reasons. For more safety reasons these will NOT be kept here at the lab. I've made a few contacts already with some potential adoptees once we've determined the hatched pokemon are healthy.

These pokemon will be hatched off site.

Rattata line: 10/10 simple, affective changes, but totem Raticate was such a big bitch for me to fight in sun and moon jccyuytcnio

Raichu: 12/10 I love alolan Raichu! I also adore the lore that they surf on their tail and that’s what the extra points are for-

Sandshrew line: 6/10? I like alolan Sandshrew more then normal Sandshrew, but I like normal Sandslash more then the alolan version

Diglett line: 10/10 diglett itself doesn’t have a huge change but DUGTRIO KILLS ME- the fucking wigggssss-

Meowth line: 10/10 again, simple effective changes, I like em

Geodude line: 3/10? I don’t really like base geodude and Gravler that much and the regional variant doesn’t make it better. I don’t mind Golem or Alolan Golem though

Grimer and Muk: 2/10 I don’t mind Grimer but Muk is just. So. Bright? So colorful? And the colors almost don’t work together but they do? I don’t know alolan Muk is funky in a bad way-

Exeggutor: 17/10 N E C K I love it here anamaakajsjs

Marowak: 10/10 some more simple, effective changes, love it

Ponyta and Rapidash: 10/10 I like my little pony. Leave me alone.

Mr.Mime: 5/10 I don’t even like Mr. Mime. It’s still creepy. But it does look…very different- Mr. Rime is the best one here

Growlithe line: 10/10 FLUFFY FIRE BABYYY and fluffy storm cloud Arcanine-

Voltorb and Electrode: 10/10 I really love that their whole designs are now like references to the history of pokeballs and they way they were originally made vs the mass manufactured versions and the whole thing of handmade items with love and work put in vs the easy, cheaper alternative

Typhlosian: 17/10 IT LOOKS SO COOLLLL

Qwilfish: 10/10 cool simple change to the basic design! Overqwil also looks reallllyy cool!

Sneasel: 17/10 again I actually like Hisuian Sneasel much, much, more then normal Hisuian. It’s 100% the colors. I like sneasler alright

Samurott: 5/10? If you read through the starter post you know I don’t really like the normal form of this guy but I do like the Hisui form better- the black and red just go better with the blue to me. Plus the like…crooked horn is cool

Lilligant: 5/10 I don’t dislike the Hisui form I just ADORE the normal version it’s so fucking cute-

Basculin: 5/10? Pure neutrality here. Do like Basculegion though.

Zorua line: 12/10 I love base forms and making them WHITE and red I love it here-

Braviary: 5/10 Meh for both forms

Sliggoo line: 9/10 I love the idea of it having these like disk shells that became part of their bodies over time-

Avalugg: 3/10- the normal ones are a 0/10 but the three is for the idea of Avalugg specifically. Like it used to have rock legs but evolved to have a fully ice body-

Decidueye: 5/10 m e h. I like base Decidueye better

The storm was its own kind of hell— a merciless downpour, lightning striking all around him, the air itself still buzzing with the remains of lingering electricity, ears ringing after the thunders followed ceaselessly. He was soaked already, any attempt at shielding himself from the relentless rain already forsaken, breath shaky and cold clothes sticking uncomfortably to skin.

It all paled compared to the titan staring him down, a trembling hand barely pressed against his clawed side.

Even as injured as Zapdos was, it proved to have well deserved the title of legendary, fighting so viciously in its desperation for survival, the storm its own rage manifested and given its rightful form. He couldn’t send his team to fight this— they didn’t deserve to be injured this badly, and the titan was only striving to protect itself, Volkner knew that, could feel it. ( had lived it himself before )

And yet.

And yet, the thought crossed his mind, like ice washing over him, a cold realization. This is where I die, isn’t it?

He couldn’t defeat a legendary on his own. He refused to hurt it when it was already in such a state. Zapdos wouldn’t back down against what it was deeming to be a threat, it was enraged enough in its wounded state. Volkner knew how to tell the panic of its fight apart. This would be it, then, wouldn’t it?

“... Y-you win, alright?” He must’ve been delirious already, then, suddenly speaking up without much thought, disregarding the effort that alone was taking. “I-I— I’m not trying to hurt you, even if— even if you don’t believe me, okay?” It’s barely a hiss through his teeth, yet he still tries. And the titan is watching, judging.

And yet he couldn’t simply give up. Not in the way he wanted, at least.

A bloodied hand just barely managed to slip a pokeball out, tap it to release the ‘mon despite the legendary bristling in a sudden burst of newfound strength, its wariness and rage alike. Volkner didn’t care. His focus was on Luxray now, that free hand reaching up to bury itself in his mane, doing his best to ignore the sudden panic of his most loyal friend in this sudden hell of a situation.

“Lux— t-take care of everyone, alright?” It hardly helped his partner’s panic, but. Volkner had to make sure of this, at least. 

And then he turned back to the legendary. He had to hold out hope for at least this much... and then that would be it. He had come to terms with the thought that he might not really make it for much longer, anyways.

“C-can you just— at least let my team walk out of here?” It was the least he could ask for, all he really wanted to ask— his team never deserved to be dragged into the ever spiraling disaster that was his life, even when he had tried, over and over, to allow them to go, no matter how much they refused to leave his side. “Please. I— I don’t care if you want me dead for coming here, just—”

A deep breath, still trying his futile efforts to press his hand against where talons shredded skin. Luxray growled, his own discharge only kept at bay by the knowledge of how easily it would hurt his human, yet he still tried, still made that attempt to protect him against the fury of the storm given form.

“Don’t— don’t hurt them. They’ve been hurt enough.”

And when he expected to simply be mauled without a second thought... nothing happened yet. The titan glared at the both of them, Luxray just as defiant. And Volkner did the best he could— pulling Luxray closer, anything to protect him, to make sure his friend was safe, even if he had to defy the storm all over again for it.

Yet Zapdos did not attack again. Even through a wary glare expecting the worst, it carefully stepped back, one last glance, to Volkner and then Luxray, before it retreated. Still wounded, still distrustful, but granting him this one mercy.

He barely survived his first encounter with the legendary titan, branded with the talons to tell the tale. And yet he did not give up, and he did not forget.

And he still devoted himself to help.

D TIER: Jynx. Stop using Jynx man, come on

C+ TIER: idk who any of these guys are but they seem nice. Don't know them well enough to rank them higher

C TIER: kinda goofy-lookin', but in a charming way. I note that Golbat is the completely wrong colour. I consider this an improvement

B TIER: Still very goofy but I love them. Zapdos looks so odd like looking at en Eagle straight on. Koffing is completely the wrong colour but Mountain Dew Code Red suits him. Nosepass is my favourite here
