About two years ago, Ellie set up her side hustle business as an illustrator taking commissions on house portraits and other drawings. She also sells her prints online and on markets. Her style is quite exceptional – mostly fine liner, slightly wonky lines, and angles, mainly featuring objects, nature, houses, pubs, football stadiums, …. For this Blog-Interview, I met Ellie in @thebowbells pub in East London. She shows me her sketchbooks and I cannot believe they really are sketchbooks as they are so neat and beautiful and without a single crease or gone wrong drawing. ○°☆•Tugay Zeyrek is a hairdresser who works in his family salon in Metzingen a small town in Germany - and cuts the hair of football stars and even music icons like Jason Derulo. When interviewing him I noticed quite a few things that we all can learn from him in order to achieve the extraordinary: ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʟᴏᴠᴇ &ᴘᴀssɪᴏɴ for this extra boost of energy that you will need to achieve the extraordinary. ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ʙᴇ ʙɪɢ-ʜᴇᴀᴅᴇᴅ but stay down-to-earth: Tugay walked over to his regular customers, normal people without big names or big wallets, had a chat, called them by their names, and made sure they felt welcome and were happy with the service in the salon. ᴋᴇᴇᴘ ᴏɴ ᴄᴏɴɴᴇᴄᴛɪɴɢ "A friend introduced me to a football player who played in the national team, and then one thing led to another." Connecting doesn't mean passively waiting for a connection to show up - but it requires massive action: to show up for your connections and to get out there and tell people about your goals! ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴛ ɢɪᴠᴇ ᴜᴘ ᴀɴᴅ ʙᴇ ʙᴏʟᴅ "When I was meant to meet Jason Derulo at his concert, none of the security took me seriously. How to dress is one of the most frequent questions my clients ask me when we plan our photo session. For a start, I always advise them to bring along two or three outfits. °•☆• How to get the feeling into the picture The most important element in a photo is emotion; that it makes me feel something. A technically perfect picture doesn`t mean much to me, if I don`t feel anything when looking at it. “A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it”, said photographer Irving Penn. Picturing emotion is not so much related to technique or camera equipment. It’s much more complex and has something to do with our own personality. And it isn’t received by all viewers in the same way. The light is one major factor for emotion. Good light always creates atmosphere.
