the night is young pt. 1

the night was young and you and your friends wanted to go out for a night on the town. to have fun, show the world what it was missing. and you did. you had fun, you partied, you danced until you couldn't breathe, and you drank — a lot.

"y/n! cmon, it's time to go!" called your best friend, mandy. you both had way too much to drink that night and knew you would regret it in the morning.

"i wanna stay, mandy! look at the hot guy over there! i wanna talk to him." you whined. you weren't wrong. the man was hot. a mix of ryan reynolds and channing tatum and you were set.

"fine, we can stay a bit longer but you are not hooking up with him tonight!"

"watch me." you warned. you walked over the man, and sat next to him. your best friend was disappointed in you because she just wanted to go home, all the while you wanted to hook up with some stranger. oh what liquor does to you.

“hey stranger.” you said, calling the bartender over for two shots — patrón.

“hey yourself. may i just say you’re looking beautiful tonight.” the stranger said, flashing a perfect smile. “that dancing was incredible.”

you looked at mandy, rolling your eyes at his flirting. you knew that men could flirt, but his was just terrible. you looked back at the man, a blush rising to your cheeks — fake might i add.

“thank you, sweetheart.” you nearly purred. the bartender set your shot down in front of you and you downed it.

“it’s been so long since i’ve seen a woman down a shot without making a face.” the stranger commented. “how about we get out of here?”

“yeah, i’d like that.” you murmured. that last shot hit you hard, you were starting to feel dizzy. you stood up and followed the man out of the bar, flashing a wink towards mandy. she rolled her eyes and you watched her gulp down her drink before grabbing her things. she paid the bartender.

“where’s your car, stranger?” you asked when the both of you were in the parking lot. he just pointed to it and you walked over to the car. you stumbled the whole way and mentally prepared yourself for what was about to happen.

before you could even reach the car you were hit upon the head, so hard it sent you flying to the ground. you yelped and tried to crawl away from the maniac who just hit you, but there was no way you could get away. he hit you again and you were out like a light...

when you came to, your arms and legs were tied to a chair. the lights were bright and you had to wait to look around until your eyes focused. you struggled against the chair, trying your hardest to get out but to no avail.

you saw someone walking over to you and you struggled even more. this wasn’t how you were supposed to die. he stalked you like you were his prey.

“please — let me go! no! get away from me!” you yelled.

“shut up you bitch.” he hissed at you. you felt a blow at your face and you screamed. he wasn’t going to make you shut up so easily. “i said shut up!”

“make me you prick! why are you doing this? let me the fuck go.” you hissed at him, and with all your might you tore your right hand through the duct tape that was holding you down.

the man was so close to you that you could do something and you did. you used your nails and clawed at his face, making sure to catch his eye. that bought you some time. as he was cursing and holding his eye, you broke the other duct tape and the pulled the tape off of your legs. you made a run for it, going out of the nearest door.

you were free, but you were surrounded by woods. you immediately ran into them, getting away from your captor. you didn’t pay any attention to how hard you were breathing or how much you wanted to throw up. all you could think about was the constant fear of being murdered by the stranger at the bar. when you knew you needed to stop running, you hid behind this tree. it had a hole in the trunk that you could fit into and you climbed into it. you put anything in front of you to mask the color of your dress and hair.

you heard the running of your captor. oh dear god please don’t let him find me, was all you could think. the running went past you and darted to your right. there was yelling.

“come on, rabbit! come out and play!”

From a prompt I lost but vaguely remember.

I never thought I'd be happy to see a swarm of harpies before in my life. Not just any swarm of harpies either, a swarm with a grudge against Endora. I mean if you can call them a swarm. It's more like a triad of them. Endora's cool and all, an expert archer and she can fly. It's nothing personal really, I'm just so tired of the drama she gets us pulled into. This was gonna be my debut. I thought I finally had the chance to prove to Admiral Smith I can handle S class missions on my own. For some reason he insists I take Endora with me. Sure I'm not the strongest, but I'd like to think I'm decent with my broadsword. I've been training since I was six years old. I was trained by my Father, Grandfather, and my Mother. Being an only child had the perks of getting to learn whatever I wanted, no matter how hard my dad tried to coddle me. I have total faith in myself.

The mission is simple enough. It's totally a single, one man show kinda gig. All I have to do is find the Grimoire, hidden in the Valley of 知らない. I just need to get past the harpies, through the Sprite festival (without eating or drinking anything), and answer a few questions about philosophical riddles that Reinford Hobgoblin the Seventh inquires about.

Easy breezy right? I think so. 

"Well, well, well. Isn't it Dora and her little explorer. Aren't you a little old to be playing with your food? We could use a snack, since it looks like you could lose some weight." The leading bitch antagonized. I am definitely not food. I mean I look good, but more of a "fun to play with not to eat" if you catch my drift.

  "Oi, at least call me a meal if you're gonna insult me! Besides I thought you watched your calorie intake. It's not supposed to be any higher than your IQ right? If that's even possible." Boy am I good at making things worse. Where's my filter again? The look on the queen bitches face is definitely going into the world record book of fugly. Her posse is just looking at me with...well contempt. All I did was defend my nutrition info. 

  "Dude so not the time for this. I mean really with harpies? " Dora the fun killer scolds. "And I'm not fat, asswipes! I'm average for my species. Besides I wouldn't eat Drew if I were you. They'd give you indigestion." She declared plainly. "One more thing, aren't you all a little old to be doing the whole Middle school bullying scenario? Is this like a pro job you got hooked into or what?" That for some reason seems like the only thing Gerti would be good at. Gerti; professional bully and bitch terror. Hire at your own risk.

  "As if you'd know what a real job is, but yes. We were hired to stop your little duet of weird, keep you in one place and, away from thee festival." Betti, Gerti's second in command, pompously let us know. She was never really a tight lipped girl, figuratively or literally. "You're reputation is phenomenal in how much you two can fuck shit up. I mean really, how did you guys wake up the Comatic Cheshire? Even a Snorlax is jealous of its sleep pattern!" The trio of plastics screached laughing. Now that is a sound that would have sent the Cheshire to the hills. To be fair I had tamales early that evening and I didn't think it smelled that bad. It's not like the Cheshire was gonna be using their bathroom right away. As I stood quietly, listening to them bicker. I realized, if I can come up with a good enough distraction or target for them all to chase, I can book it to the festival. What do they even have in common? I mean, they definitely don't think the same. They have about the same temper though. Granted, it wouldn't be the smartest thing to make them angry before they realize I duped them. What do most people care about now? Famous people? Bingo.

"Oh my gosh! Is that CHANNING TATUM??!!!"

"What? WHERE??!!" The four of them squealed.

"He went that way!" I pointed in the opposite direction. "He turned the corner just now I swear!!" Damn I hope this works.

Before I even blinked, the four of them high tailed it at a ridiculous speed. Squealing away. I just turned and booked it to the festival. I hope they chase that wild goose until I get to the festival. Her Majesty definitely won't be paying those three. I'm sure Endora will forgive me...or tell the Admiral...

I still need to finish writing this smut fic for RebelCaptain Smut Weekend, but I had a chat with @grexigone about drawing (specifically, that one time last year where my dominant wrist got so fucked up from tendinitis that I had to finish the class drawing with my opposite hand), and a stupid little thing popped up in my head, so have sum fic instead of sum fuck:

The timer wound down to the final five minutes and gave a gentle “beep-beep!”.

“Five minutes left,” Cassian said stiffly.

Jyn winced. It was nowhere near finished, but she had to keep pushing. Her left hand gripped the charcoal as best she could and pressed down gently to get that shadow across the plane of Cassian’s leg down on the toned paper. Her shoulder ached, she’d been drawing for the better part of an hour now, but she had to- just had to- get as much in as she could. Jyn’s elbow swung up and down as her movements became more frantic, like a mechanic dramatically twisting a wrench to get the most out of one rotation.

She didn’t want it to end. It wasn’t complete. She still hadn’t added-

Highlights.

Fuck.

“Two minute warning,” Cassian reminded her gently, the fatigue clear on his face and arm. His body was twisted, sitting on a stool, and even he was feeling tested by this hour. The blue tape pressed here and there on his body to mark his pose was starting to peel off, and the bright angled studio lights were beginning to burn him on one side by now. He wasn’t looking at her (the pose didn’t call for it), but he could hear the hurried swff swff of the media on paper, and he knew his words weren’t enough. “You’ve got this,” he said, a kind and quiet encouragement.

Jyn certainly didn’t think so.

She grabbed the white conte crayon and squinted at the harsh lights, looking for the highlights on his face and body.

Here.

There.

Down the bridge of his nose. The tiny, slight glint in his eyes. Just the left one though. Down his bicep. Near the dip of his collarbone. The top plane of his thighs, now misty with sweat. His sharp cheekbone. The shine in his hair. Just under the belly button. The slight bulge in the muscle on his forearm.

The timer beeped down to its final minute.

She whimpered.

It felt so incredibly hopeless to use her other hand to get this drawing done. But she was already behind, so behind, and she had to beg to use the studio during the weekends to catch up, but-

No, not now.

She grabbed the charcoal again, realizing that her highlights were pushing the drawing to be too light in color, and did some last-minute flicks to get some of the darker shadows in.

That spot in his ear. His iris. The sharp plane change in his fingers as they bent and gripped. His jawline. Just between his legs, where they met at his hips-

Beep-beep-beep-beep! Beep-beep-beep-beep! Beep-beep-beep-beep! Beep-beep-beep-beep!

She sighed as she set the charcoal down on the floor and got up from her horse.

As Cassian relaxed, she hesitantly walked over to the the back of the studio, and winced as she turned around to look at her drawing from afar.

She hated it.

It was all wrong.

Did this even look like Cassian?

It kind of did. But mostly didn’t.

She wanted to cry.

Jyn had three more drawings left to submit for her class, and Cassian was already generous enough to offer to model for him, but if all four drawings wound up this bad, then she wasn’t sure if she could pass the class, and-

“You’re overthinking it again, aren’t you?” Cassian asked while tying up his robe, finally able to cover himself.

“It’s not overthinking if you know it’s true,” Jyn mumbled, and she turned around to try and wash the charcoal off her hands. Using her right hand, she scrubbed the soap in as hard as she could, but the grip she applied on her blackened left hand sent a jolt of pain up her right arm, and she hissed in pain.

She had to keep scrubbing. She had to do something.

Cassian placed a hand over the faucet handle and slowly turned it off before putting paper towels in her line of sight. She took it, realizing she was getting herself in too deep, and the crinkle of the paper was the only thing that sounded in the studio. He placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her back to face the drawing, still leaning against the horse about ten paces away.

“Now, let’s take a look,” he said.

There was a moment of silence and Cassian tilted his head. Surely, he was reaching around for some kind remark to appease her. Some sort of “I like how you _______,” meant to be generic praise to soothe someone for having drawn something so terrible.

Then, “I don’t think my muscles are that great, to be honest.”

Ouch.

“Yeah,” Jyn sighed. “You’re right, I should’ve added more shadows there, it’s so plain-”

“No, I mean, there’s no way my muscles look that great in real life,” Cassian corrected.

That couldn’t be right; muscles are normally something she’s relatively proud of when she draws.

“They do look like that, though,” she replied, confused.

“I look like a freaking Adonis in this drawing- were you thinking of some hot actor and just put him in there instead of me?” he teased.

Jyn rolled her eyes. “Yeah, in fact I was thinking about Channing Tatum the whole time.”

“Hey,” he said, pinching her sides as a tease before pulling her hips against his. “The drawing is great, though- honestly. It just seems like you made me look way too good on paper.”

“It still doesn’t really look like you though,” she sighed, suddenly aware of the breath bouncing back on her face as he continued to close the distance between them. “Without my right hand, I can’t get the lines down correctly; my left hand isn’t trained for that, and all I can do is make blocks of shadows here and there. But that’s about it. It’s terrible, and inaccurate.”

Cassian looked at the drawing again, then back at her. “You used the tan toned paper instead of the usual grey.”

Jyn’s face turned pink at being called out for her paper choice. “Yeah, um…I wanted to make sure the paper matched the warmth.”

A smile grew on Cassian’s face as he heard the compliment. “The tones you put down feel very me, too. I’ve got that hip tilt thing I always do, and you nailed it.”

She chuckled, her breath bouncing off his chin this time. “I always thought it was cute.”

He tilted her chin up to get her to look at him directly. “Did you have me pose like that because you wanted to draw things you liked about me?”

Jyn was definitely aware of the lack of space between them now. “I thought that if you posed to highlight things I like about you, then it’d be easier to draw more accurately. I was wrong, though, but-”

“You aren’t. I love it. I just…” he chuckled softly as his forehead pressed against hers. “I didn’t think these were things you liked about me. My nose, my arms, my hands; all these things you put a lot of care and attention to, I didn’t realize you actually liked them.”

“I love those things about you,” Jyn responded, now a mumble that was nearing a whisper. For the whole hour she was drawing, Jyn felt panicked, like a boat out at sea in the dead of the night, the waves tossing her back and forth and beating down on her. Cassian’s words felt like a cozy blanket in the aftermath of that storm, and she wanted to curl up into it and let the warmth reach down to her soul.

“Let me look at you.”

What?

She looked up at him, meeting his eyes as his head withdrew to get a better look at her.

Jyn’s hair was a mess, her eyes tired, a few smears of charcoal across her nose, her left cheekbone, and even just a smudge on her hairline.

She was beautiful.

“I’m not an artist, and I can’t draw, and I’m really not a model,” Cassian said, and Jyn felt something prod her gently at her stomach. “But if you’d let me, I’d like to show you the things I like about you.”

Jyn wasn’t entirely sure what there could be for him to like, but as he brought her right wrist up to his lips and they ghosted her palms before trailing up to the sensitive part of her forearm, she had a faint idea of what he might like about her. She felt his other hand travel up her back and he gripped firmly at the back of her neck, right at the base of her skull, and instinctively she tilted her head to expose her neck to him.

Cassian ran his tongue slowly at the pulse point of her neck, trailing up before stopping at her earlobe. Jyn let out a quivered breath, and Cassian could feel her body twitch in surprise and arousal. Smiling, he nipped at her earlobe before pressing his lips up to her ear and, asking quietly like a secret meant for only the two of them despite the studio being otherwise empty, he asked, “Will you let me?”

She looked at the studio’s clock across the room. “I want to, but I only have the studio for 20 more minutes today.”

Jyn felt his hands trail down to the front of her shirt to unbutton it slowly, one by one, as if 20 minutes was more than enough for them.

“I should get started now, then,” he said, and he continued to let his hands and mouth show her what parts of her he liked the most.

Action, explosions and impeccable tailoring, the new Kingsman film has it all. Following the worldwide success of the first film of the franchise, Kingsman: The Golden Circle is set to hit the big screens this September and packs a star-studded cast. Taron Egerton talks about the excitement of returning to the role of Eggsy for the sequel, his on-screen love interest and what to expect for the highly anticipated release.

Where is Eggsy when we pick up with him?

We meet Eggsy an undisclosed amount of time after the first [film]. But you can see in his mews house that there are three additional Sun headlines on the wall, indicating that he’s done a handful of missions on his own. And he is now going steady, to use a very 1950s term, with – shock horror – the Swedish princess from the first movie. Love blossomed in an unusual place. He’s trying to juggle the lifestyle of being a Kingsman and a full-time spy with also trying to nurture a blossoming relationship with a person who he really loves. He’s basically the same guy, just with a really important job.

He still has those rough edges?

Oh, the rough edges haven’t been sanded off. Eggsy still fucks up. That’s essential for the audience to have a window into the movie, to experience it through his eyes. He still has to escape through a sewer and emerge covered in shit. That’s not Harry Hart. That’s Eggsy. If we’d started the movie with Eggsy being Harry Hart, he wouldn’t have anywhere to go. He’s the rough-around-the-edges lad. We even see him return to an adidas hoodie – that’s who he is on his downtime.

This is your third film now with Matthew Vaughn, who also produced Eddie The Eagle. You clearly work well together – were you in contact with him as he pulled the movie together?

For the whole time he was writing, he always calls and says ideas. There is a real big kid in Matthew. When he has an idea he’s excited about he wants to share it. Just when you think you have a handle on Matthew, who he is and how his creative brain works, he comes in with something else which is really fucking clever. On a daily basis, it’s something I could never have thought of.

The first movie was your first time on a movie set. Did it feel easier this time?

On the first one I thought Matthew could fire me at any moment. I was a bit more tight-lipped and reverential. Now I give as good as I get. It felt easier in that I’ve spent far more time on film sets, and felt more certain of myself and how I function within a film set and this world I now occupy. In other senses, Matthew kept calling it the tough second album, and it is. People shout ‘Eggsy!’ at me in the street sometimes, and that’s quite a thing to reconcile yourself with, that you’re coming back and playing the same role again, and people have a level of expectation from you. They want the same thing again, but they also want it to be new and exciting. Kingsman has totally changed my life, so coming back, the overriding emotion was excitement, and real anticipation. The script was great, and it’s a really great story. I was so excited, and to be doing a sequel to your first film within four years of coming out of drama school, I am the luckiest man on the planet.

Have you changed your approach to the character?

On the first, I was constantly thinking about the accent and it doesn’t cross my mind now. He’s very much a part of me. I don’t think about it for a second now. I’ve played this character from his inception and I feel secure.

The best-kept secret in movies – that Colin Firth is back as Harry Hart – is now out. So what can you say about Eggsy’s relationship with Harry in this movie?

Well… we were on the same set, and we are friends and I love his company, and it was really nice to revisit a job well done. There were a lot of ways Matthew could have gone with the sequel, but in my mind, there was no doubt. I’m not sure how far the movie goes without that Harry and Eggsy relationship. That dynamic, and riffing on that dynamic, is the beating heart of the movie.

Has the relationship changed?

When they are reunited, it’s lovely. It’s very affecting and they’re pleased to see each other. But for undisclosed reasons, a tension grows in their relationship. That’s enormously fun and an interesting dynamic. When Harry and Eggsy’s relationship came to its untimely end in the first one, they weren’t on good terms. It’s quite sad. Eggsy hasn’t dealt with the situation particularly well. So in this movie you expect a reconciliation and you get it, but because of other facts it’s not always harmonious. Matthew knows that’s the key. You’ve got all the guns and fighting and that makes it brilliant, but for me it’s about Harry and Eggsy.

Early in the film, an attack on Kingsman has huge ramifications for Eggsy. What are those ramifications?

What it means for Eggsy is he was disenfranchised at the start of the first one, and aimless and not content. This wacky world he becomes involved with gives him direction and purpose, so to dash it to smithereens at the top end of this second episode is mad. Eggsy doesn’t really know what the hell to do. Sometimes sequels don’t work. This works because we get a reset. Everything was OK, and now it’s not again.

The big new additions to the film are the Statesmen, the American equivalent of Kingsmen, who Eggsy and Merlin discover in the wake of the attack on their own organisation. What can you say about these new arrivals?

The Kingsmen make their money through tailoring and that’s their front, but it’s more limited in terms of reward and finances than selling booze. The Statesmen are a level up. We thought our jet was good, but theirs is a fucking jet. You can see Eggsy being wide-eyed with wonder again.

The cast Vaughn has assembled for this movie is astonishing.

It’s amazing. One minute you’re working in Peacocks and then all of a sudden you’re sat at a table with Jeff Bridges, Colin Firth, Channing Tatum and Halle Berry! It’s a weird thing to be part of. They’re such great characters and so animated and larger than life and played by such great performers.

What’s the relationship like between Eggsy and the Statesmen?

I think to begin with it’s one of mistrust. These organisations aren’t aware of each other. They’re only supposed to become aware of each other in the event of a serious disaster. Eggsy and Merlin find themselves face to face with Agent Tequila, and have a fight… I don’t recommend fighting Channing Tatum. He’s a dancer, but that guy is like an ox. I had a few sore fingers after that.

Talk us through the Statesmen.

Ginger (played by Halle Berry) is the equivalent of Merlin. She’s very clever and you might describe her as bookish, she’s a quieter character. And then there’s Channing Tatum, who has a bit of bravado and is butch and manly. He’s quite gung-ho. He likes his weekend parties. He ends up in stasis, having taken some sort of illicit substance. Jeff as Champagne is really cool. He’s an alcoholic who doesn’t drink, but is forever swilling and spitting whiskey, or he sniffs the whiskey as he’s talking and trying to figure [stuff] out. Then there’s Pedro Pascal, who plays agent Whiskey, and he is a kind of seasoned veteran, their top field agent, who takes me under his wing. For a little while, it begins to feel like he might be a new mentor figure for Eggsy in the absence of Harry Hart, who is not quite what he once was. But you also get the sense that Whiskey might be a little reckless, and a little cold.

And, of course, there’s Julianne Moore as the villain of the piece, Poppy.

She has a dastardly plot that’s every bit as chilling as Valentine’s plot from the first movie. That’s thematic of these two films. There’s a very cold world in which you get what Valentine was saying about global warming. You can also sort of see where Poppy is coming from, depending on how conservative you are. But Julianne is lovely. She’s a children’s author as well and heard that I had two young sisters and she sent some of her books. She’s really great in the movie, really disturbing and saccharine and rotten to the core. The smile never reaches the eyes.

The first film pushed the envelope with its R-rated tone, exploding heads and stylish violence. Does the second follow that up?

You’re not going to be leaving the cinema feeling like Matthew played it safe this time. It takes a character like Matthew’s to be as resolute and uncompromising as that, in the face of all the pressures that come when it’s a commercially viable property. If you call the first one provocative, you’d call this one a punch in the face.

So it’s a movie that may ruffle feathers.

If you had told me seven years and three months ago that you would spend the rest of your 30th year as a single gay man, you probably would have said something like

“yeah, sounds about right”

2018 began with two people as the focus point. The past seven years have been about two people as the focus point. My whole (almost –whole) 20’s has been with two people as the focus point. I think you get what I mean now – I have had someone by my side for the past seven years and now, nothing.

Not nothing nothing. More like – I do have friends but I also respect my body to want to be alone and sit and wallow in my sadness. I’m human and I am allowed to do this. I like to cry. When I was in high school I watched Natalie Portman in Garden State with this fantastic line that summarized how I had been feeling quite literally my whole life until that point

“I’m not saying I don’t cry, but in between, I laugh. And I realize how silly it is to take anything too seriously. Plus, I look forward to a good cry. It feels pretty good.”

So far today the 12th of April only one other person knows and they are part of my best friend circle. It’s been two weeks almost since we decided that a split would be beneficial for both of our physical and mental health. Arguing almost daily while taking happy photos for Instagram wasn’t something either of us were cut out to do. Thankfully we didn’t end the relationship over a fight while saying nasty things to one another. It was mutual, heartbreaking, I felt like the earth beneath me had dropped away and I was floating on thin air, almost waiting to drop.

He wants to focus on being a happier person and so do I. The saddest part was realizing that we didn’t make each other happy in a relationship. Like, we tried, but we were both in this weird swimming pool unable to swim and the lights are off and you can hear each other slapping the water trying to stay above where you can breathe but then you look down and can’t see your feet and think “fuck, but I love him so I can stay here, it’s fine and its okay, right?”

The weird thing was that right when we had decided to end our relationship, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan split. I remember he sent me the Instagram post with all of these shocked face emoji’s and my first thought was “hmm... If we were social media famous we could literally make a killing about this end of relationship” but I quickly dropped that thought. I also remember thinking like, god-fucking-damn-it they are trying to steal our thunder!

So anyway, I’m hella fucking sad. I do go for walks and I am eating healthy and junk food, I like to mix it up a little bit. We do still text each other to make sure that the other is alive and well, kicking on in the day. The end isn’t the complete end, I know and trust that he will remain as a very close friend in my life. We just couldn’t be together as a couple.

You know what’s weird? Thinking about how I’m going to tell my friends. I told my cousin when we were having dinner before the new John Krasinksi/Emily Blunt movie and she her eyes almost fell out of her head. I feel like at this point, it’s like telling my children that mommy and daddy were going to live in separate houses and that both of us love you very much. My friends are so invested in our relationship because we were always so picture perfect and because (and I will always stand by this) he is a fucking handsome ma-CHINE. Work friends are always asking about my weekend, what we did, where we went for lunch and dinner, did we have plans to go somewhere soon? Oh, we don’t live together yet? Oh, that’s right, I mentioned that the move in was planned for next year. I don’t know how to break it to them. I wonder how my parents will take it. My mum always used to tell me that I fought with him too much, that my temper was going to ruin me one day. I worked on my anger management for us, for me.

Sometimes I think that our conversations about ourselves caught up with our emotions. He is the strong, patriotic, hard headed and tough Colombian and I was the wavy, chilled out, almost-a-bogan Aussie with Chilean parents. We always said that had this been high school we probably would have avoided each other because we were so different. He taught me how to stand up for myself both physically and emotionally and I taught him that it was okay to fall down and break a dinner plate every now and then. From the beginning, we were different and a part of me feels like this is the failing link, the weak chain in the mechanics of our relationship. How could we have lasted so long? Then I remember that I’m not actually living an episode of sex and the city and remind myself that we had a genuine love for one another and that just because we ended doesn’t mean that the past seven years have gone to a waste. I’m not sad that I lost someone, because I didn’t. My heart is broken for the both of us.

Like I said before about being hella sad, I’m still there and I recognize that I better bring a blanket and a book because lord knows I will cause this state my home for probably longer than I need to (which is okay) I tried listening to some music and watching a few movies that I used to watch when I felt my depression lingering like a cat watching you open Tupperware of biscuits. This didn’t work though because it made me sadder to think that I was going back to how I felt when I was aged 16-20 when the sad chapter of my life was at its prime. So instead I found some new music on Spotify and went for a walk and by the hair of my chin, it helped. I went to Kmart and bought some new shirts and a jumper. I forgot to buy new undies though. It has nothing to do with me being in a relationship or not, I just need new undies. Protein farts equals holes in your undies.

I don’t think that I’m broken, or unable to live my life as normal. It just feels like...like I’m stuck listening to that sad song from that album you love, you can’t press skip or pause. I’ve already learnt how to deal with my sadness. I always told him that this was my trick – kinda like the hulk. I was always sad. Staying above water is my problem.
