Dilemma on WHB Belphegor's possible designs/appearance

On one hand there's what I call [version A]

I'd love for him to look all sleek and put together. He's a King! He's also militaristic and that involves a lot of discipline not just in his actions but also in his appearance. Clothes perfectly ironed, posture straight, and not a single thing crooked or out of place. Order and uniformity that is reflected in his domain and its citizens.

A design that makes you go "which part of this man is about being the King of Sloth???"

Make it ironic. Man's supposed to be lazy af why is he so put together???

BUT!!! there's also [version B]

Scruffy and rugged. Slouchy and lax. The embodiment of Sloth. The only reason his clothes look halfway decent is because Gusion would not let him out the door otherwise. Everyone thinks that, with how he runs his kingdom, he's just as much of a hardass. Actually he's not. He just established the rules and stuck with it for a while til it became the norm and he stood back and let the country run itself. He made his country self-sufficient enough that he only needs to step in when necessary. His subjects also greatly admire and respect him that they can't bear to think of disobeying.

In both cases, I WANT HIM TO HAVE FACIAL AND BODY HAIR aaaaaaaaaaaaa

It would do wonders for his design and can tell you a lot about his character!!! For version A, he has one more thing to maintain and care for. The facial hair especially. Extra time and steps to make sure it looks tidy.

For version B, it's like "sir do u even know what a razor is???" You look at the nobles and ask them if they've tried to at least convince him to trim a little bit. They just shrug and you facepalm.

Either way, I'll have to see what PB cooked up for him but oh! OH!!! A shrimp can dream 😭😭😭

After a LOT of outfit/pallete trial n error I think I’m finally close to having an actual style down for Ordovic.

Main reason I haven’t wanted to practice drawing him as much was because I didn’t have a solid idea of his outfit and what his whole pallete should be, and so have spent months slowly circling ideas and poking at it.

#disclaimer that i am not an animator nor even an artist but! i love the toothy line style they use for the characters #obviously meant to be reminiscent of analog productions #i love that the frame rate (?) seems to be the same as part 1 if my player's frame-by-frame function is to be believed #i love all the lovingly rendered period details in the backgrounds #(and the jokes! i lost it in january when i realized lupin's mothra (モスラ) poster actually read “tesla” (テスラ)) #i love the expressions and the references to other ’70s animation by the same creators (you can fit SO much f.uture boy conan in here) #i DON'T love the weird light-distortion filter they slapped over the entire show but i respect the vibe they were going for with it #strange lovely hit-or-miss (but hits hard when it counts) little show designed to be a half-forgotten memory #we'll see how i feel about it as a whole now that it's been [checks the wiki] just a few days over a full year but man. i'm glad we have it #lupin zero #lupin iii #edit: oh right i forgot the cringe in e1. though to be fair soon after yoko's song starts it cuts to lupin looking up to/emulating jigen so

There was a CLEAR thing that the narrative would have eventually built up to, which is that if their way of living is hunting down the demons they'd eventually collect all the mouths... and then what? it really begs the question y'know???? the demon's coming back?? what's going 2 happen to haru and luca?

I have never watched or read demon slayer so idk how the two measure up but yeah. where I live anyways demons slayer has so much hype. it genuinely sucks (to ME) that miss tanabe's works are always so underrated </3

alright, just for clarity: genshin impact runs on unity. you're still welcome to be concerned for Whales(people spending 1000+ a month or otherwise beyond their means), but y'all don't get to make fun of us for just buying stuff in our game anymore. it was already dicey when it's a free to play in-development game we might want to support. now that we know every installation is going through that ridiculous charge, Lay Off.

#'ooooh its a gacha game' listen i'd rather pay what feels appropriate for bonus items and a better chance at rounding off my collection #than pay 60+ for a shitty game full of ungodly glitches that locks ALL the good shit behind a paywall #i'm not sure y'all understand how much stuff is in place to ensure that genshin is fully playable at ftp #the pity system + rotating catalogue means your only real obstacle to getting a character or weapon is your own patience. #the constant flow of minimum-effort primos and freebie characters means you are guaranteed a viable team #if you don't play for 2 weeks and then log back in they give you a special catchup event #the majority of the game's content is completely available to you at free and paying won't actually erase the effort needed to unlock stuff #i don't deny it has the same potential to hurt addictive folk as any other lootboxes and i do not recommend it to everyone #nor do i deny its writing and design flaws - particularly in the way sumeru was designed and how hilichurls are handled #but it is SO much more respectful to its playerbase than a LOT of the other systems i've seen
