So if you don't believe he's a good person, what DO you think of Ghoul?

I think he’s a bright boy, one who shows a lot of promise and potential to lead whatever kind of life he wants, once he figures out what all that is. I think his assistance is irreplaceable, at this point, that by the time we part ways he’ll have things to teach me about chemistry rather than the other way around.

I think he’s personable in a way he doesn’t much pay attention to, that he makes friends and endears himself to others faster than most boys his age, and that he’s more responsible than he gives himself credit. He’s a pretty decent housemate, even with the irreverence and teenage eye-rolling involved; besides, my son likes him.

I think he’s reliable, I think he adapted to life in the past faster than I would’ve had roles been reversed, and I’m glad he’s around.

He’s also an imp, a menace, and willing to lend his aid to my research, which are certainly choices, so I just hope I can pass on some worthwhile wisdom while he’s here. And cooking tips.

Just, you know, inherent goodness or badness are a lie sold to you by secular christianity, people do good or bad, they aren’t good or bad in essentialism.

Uh, yeah actually.

There’s this blond fella that shows up every damn time I put up fliers. I don’t know why, really - he doesn’t take money or ask for shit besides lunch, but he’s great as a baseline.

I know how he looks under the serum’s influence so well now that I can use tests on him to calibrate the basic potency of each new strain.
