For the title meme: “You Will Be Found”? (I’ve been listening to a certain musical!)

I still haven’t listened to DEH yet but I really should! I just read the lyrics after writing up this idea, and my idea doesn’t fit the overall song super well, just the title, but hopefully it’s still alright!

For this one, I think that I’d write a short story about Brenda and Clark, set shortly after Luke, Marina, and Layton go missing. When they hear that Luke is missing, in a panic, the Triton parents pack up and travel to England in a desperate attempt to search for him. They both feel very guilty for not staying in better contact with all three missing people, but especially Luke; their weekly phone calls with him had somehow turned into monthly ones, then even more sporadic, with nobody trying to make them more regular again.

As they travel, they talk about how guilty they feel, and admit that they sometimes feel like Luke is closer with Layton than he is with either of them. They wonder how they could have been better parents, and if it was a mistake to let Luke spend so much time with Layton, or if it was a good thing, because Luke seemed so happy when spending time with Layton.

In their attempt to find Luke, they find themselves travelling back to Misthallery, hoping that maybe he and Layton had gone off the grid on an adventure to remember how they first met. As they explore the town, they both experience a lot of weird, conflicting feelings: nostalgia, and sadness at how different the place is from how they remember it, and dread and panic, as they remember why they left. It soon becomes obvious that Luke isn’t in Misthallery, but they keep exploring anyway, talking to the old friends that are still in the town, catching up with them, sharing the news that Luke is missing, and making new promises to keep in contact with them.

Through their exploration, they remember the good times that they shared with Luke, and become determined to find Luke again. After they’ve found him, they’re going to make the best of their time together as a family.

hey so i know in your rules page you say you only like layclaire and clarkbrenda but do you really not like any gay pairings? at all?

I do not dislike them, I just ask that people not request me to draw any other pairings (and honestly that’s pretty much confined to just layclaire at this point). since you pointed that out, it’s clear that the wording is very misleading, so I’ll fix that momentarily. there are a number of reasons why I ask that people not request other pairings:

- I’ve had very bad experiences with people who were greatly associated with a couple major pl ships, so as a result it’s difficult for me to separate those ships with those negative memories, and I’m afraid that if I post anything related to those ships the same things will happen again

- I have a very hard time depicting characters in romantic scenarios. I can do it with claire and hersh bc I have been incredibly invested in these two characters for many years, but with others I get overwhelmed and uncertain if I’m depicting them accurately

- I myself experience no attraction to people whatsoever and have never been in a relationship, so depicting romance in general is a huge challenge. since I’ve never felt it myself it’s hard for me to be certain in how I show it in what I make

that is probably way more information than you wanted, but I felt a need to explain my thinking, I guess. I hope this makes sense

I had a lot fun drawing these two, cause despite my love for the series (especially Specter’s call) I have never drawn them?? But now that’s been changed :D

Petition for 100-drabble challenges to become popular again.

#64personal #whether in the layton fandom or otherwise #they're such a cool challenge #I started doing them back when I wrote for lotr #my friend started up a challenge #and while I haven't updated my lotr ones for awhile #there's still a few people going strong at the challenge after five years #and it's pretty cool to see #I didn't used to know the definition of 'drabble' so I wrote things that were more like short oneshots #now I do 200 word ones #but there's lots of cool variations #it's such a good way to get good at writing two characters together I find #maybe they are still popular but not in the fandoms I write for #I'm the only one doing it for PL #(I'm sorry @ my clarkbrenda one... I've been neglecting it)
