i started on spnwatch a few weeks ago and started at s4, absolutely disgusted at the blatant homoerotic energy btw jensen and misha and was dumbfounded, wondering that if destiel was never planned at that stage, what is making the two of them freaking drip with homoromantic energy

and then i see castiel returning from purgatory and greeting dean from behind and oh dear god, dean turns around and castiel's pupil dilate so fast

i seek out other scenes and see pupil dilation from both of them when the lights are bright (pupils are naturally small when lights are bright) and they are regarding each other closely

no actor can act on pupil dilation, so...

honestly half of the destiel in the first one or two seasons (imo) are cockles behaviours and half is like stage directions or the scripts or whatever.

and i can feel your affectionate disdain for the sexual tension that they had because i felt it too 😅 there’s a very good post with gif examples for the kitchen scene in season 4 of the pupil dilation that i can’t find right now but i think would be of interest to you.

and i LOVE that scene. pretty sure i’ve made a gifset of it.

one of my fave things to do when jensen and misha are cocklesing is to watch the people around them. the "their own space" gifset from spnsmile you reblogged is a great example: while those two are off in their own little world you can see rob and ruthie and their matching energies on either side, having fun and acknowledging each other but giving jenmish their space (they know better than to interrupt a this point lol) (1/2)

one of the most 👀 is actually watching adam rose on the screen behind them all. you can see he turns and looks at jensen specifically, mimics him with the mic pointing at the audience, looks back again but nope, jenmish are still busy. he then occupies himself by being goofy with jeffrey vincent parise, looks back /yet again/ but dammit, STILL busy lmao. shoutout to long-suffering jason manns who has clearly endured many 🐚 shenanigans 😂 (2/2)

Watching other people's reactions to them is one of my favorite things ever! Or just comparing the differences between the rest of the cast and them. I think this weekend especially was interesting with ruth/rob vs cockles. So many moments where 'its the same picture!!!' But also moments where like in the closing ceremony, ruth and rob are just kind of being there and aware of the other but still doing their own thing. And then you have Jensen and Misha who for the life of them wouldn't be able to tell you what was going on around them in that moment. It's amazing and i love it so much

I wanted to make Cockles gifs just as soon as I got home from the con and ate something, but I was exhausted from the con and the flight, plus I was still recovering from food poisoning and also my uterus decided that yesterday was a good day to start getting mad at me from not giving it a baby. So yeah, I was beaten yesterday and I couldn't find the strenght to make any Cockles gifs, but today I'm making as many gifsets as I can.

I honestly don’t care if Jensen and Misha have never actually seen each other naked (I don’t believe that to be true, but if I were to be proven wrong somehow, I’d accept it)… what keeps me in the cockles dumpster is their complete devotion to each other. They love each other deeply, and respect each other, support each other, develop each other in sooo many ways that so few ever get to experience, and I just think that love is beautiful 💙💚

Sometimes I wonder if we (as a fandom) have over-analysed scenes to the point that we’ve forgotten what we were actually watching.

Most of our favourite parts of Supernatural, the mothership as it were, are our favourite bits because they’ve been analysed and broken apart and put back together so many times that we can create this bigger picture that is further moulded by our own headcanons and fic plots and playlists. And that’s what makes Supernatural great.

I’ve seen a lot of #thoughts on The Winchesters now that the pilot is out, and I know that not everyone thinks it was a winner - the jokes were cheesy, the CGI looked terrible, it didn’t feel right, whatever else - but I’d argue that’s because it’s being compared to the Supernatural in our heads, not the Supernatural that aired on television.

I’ve said it before and I still believe it with my whole heart… Supernatural should just be a mediocre watch and forget network television show, but it’s not because of the passion of the people it sweeps up under it’s spell and the little bit of extra magic each and every person who gives it a little love sprinkles on top. This new passion project just needs the same magic.

Whumpspiration: The Dark Crystal

Kira is a great character. She’s kind and brave and uses her connection to Thra in witty ways to help her and Jen tackle challenges. But also, she’s just a great damsel, and the size difference between the gelflings and the Skeksis always warms the cockles of my whumpy heart so here’s a little GIFset. The thing is about cockles. First of all I'm so sorry for this post. But the thing is about cockles is that while I do not believe these men have done anything of that nature (second of all sorry to my cockles truthers), I really cannot take a strong stance on this because I have not looked at all the facts. You know how they say in news (especially of the political nature) to try and get an unbiased and objective take and if you can't get that to hear the story from the other side to help you form a critical opinion. Well, in the case of cockles thats J2. I look at all these gifsets and panels clips and whatever of jensen and misha being touchy and moon-eyed and whatnot and my immediate thought is "okay well obviously a cockles themed blog is going to focus on only this. There is a bias here. Is this a uniquely jenmish thing? Or would the other side brush this off and have parallel jensen and jared moments to point to?"

But I simple CANNOT bring myself to look at any J2 content. Ever in my life. So my opinions on cockles will be forever unsolidified.
