thinking about trying to do rangeland firefighting for at least one summer while I’m still in my 20s with derangements that make me love toiling like a medieval peasant but in order to do it next summer I would need to undergo a second, less illegal and contentious but some would say more difficult transition with my body. theatre kid to jock

#it would be such a cool experience but as you can imagine you need to meet a fitness requirement so the fires don’t destroy you etc etc #classic fire behavior but anyway you need to be able to walk 3 miles with a 45 pound pack in 45 minutes #it’s a test given by the forest service #however there are also a few other guidelines which are: #-can run 1.5 miles in 10 minutes 30 seconds #-can do 25 push ups #-can do 40 sit-ups #-can do 7 pull ups #easy for anyone who played footed ball in high school but unfortunately I was too busy not lifting things up and putting them down #but now I’m like. perhaps I could also pick heavy things up and put them down

#if I speak… #one of the girls walked out yesterday #the best worker we have is on the verge of blowing up on this bitch’s leaders bc since he can do everything quick and efficiently already #they’re putting 3 to 4 ppl’s workloads on him to see how far they can extend his worth and then they’re over his shoulder the whole time #micromanaging him so today he almost lost it and was literally walking around mumbling about his disrespectful they all are (facts) #and how if they don’t think he’s doing it right then they can do it and I know for a fact one of the ladies heard him #bc he wasn’t even trying to hide it at this point and like this dude is cool he has a lot of patience and helps out any way he can #so if HE’S on the brink of snapping then the rest of us don’t stand a chance LMFAO #anyways today was a fucking mess those leaders know nothing about our store yet so they have us making less than what we need until we need #it so we get behind constantly and they made prep a disaster bc again they think they can just prep a bunch of stuff in the morning #and it’ll last the whole day and yes that works in theory but the reality of the situation is every day is different and today #we sold double what we did yesterday so they had to move me to prep to fix their mistakes bc we were running out of stuff 4 hours in lmfao #and I’m the only one left who knows how to do everything on prep bc the other girls had never done it before #we’re supposed to prep 20 mac n cheese trays in the morning for the whole day #we open lunch at 10:30 tell me why I go into the cooler at 12 put more in the oven and there’s only 5 left #it’s been less than 2 HOURS and you’re already running out of macs which means those idiots prepped barely anything just to try and save mo #*money to cut down waste but that gag if you’re losing money bc now you’re short on everything and customers are leaving bc they’re having #to wait a long time for their food #and macs take 40 minutes to cool LMFAO #I get over there they’re out of parfaits they’re out of fruit cups they’re out of kale salads the front is coming in and having to take #stuff as I make it bc they keep getting orders and it’s all just a fucking mess #I have to make a custom wrap and what happens?? those morons didn’t pull the flatbreads out of the freezer like they’re supposed to every #night so now we have no flatbread and I had to run back there and put them in the warming drawer to defrost and we lost an order bc I had #nothing to make the wraps with <3 #I go back there to get more cold chicken SPOILER ALERT they didn’t have anyone make any this morning so now there’s no chicken for the wrap #and salad and it has to be grilled and then chilled for 2 FUCKING HOURS before it can be used #they’re a fucking disaster like 😭 #was the store perfect before?? ofc not but it ran quickly and efficiently as it should and now it’s literally just a mess #this bitch hasn’t even owned it for a full week yet and has already fucked it all up #womp womp!!!!!!

#for context i used to own one issue of NA jump #and when i reread bleach i was like 'hey i remember these chapters from jump' #and now im reading one piece and i caught up to the chapters from that issue #but then i checked what number chapters they were. and i went thats strange. bleach was 40 chapters ahead despite being the newer series #turns out NA jump serialized bleach 4 years after op! seemed weird! #and then i realized if they started from chapter 1 they would have done 16/month to reach those chapters by that issue which is not possibl #found a youtube channel flipping through a few old jump issues which was very cool #the other funny thing is that op went from alabasta to impel down in 2 years meaning they skipped a TON #and i cant find any record of what chapters were in what issues besides just skimming these videos and doing the math #anyway. mystery that did not need solving etc etc im going to go have funny sand time #personal

Watched Porco Rosso for the first time last night, and was really surprised at how sexist and "made by a man" it was? I can't recall ever watching a studio ghibli movie and thinking that before. It wasn't even that the female characters were written poorly because for the most part they weren't. But all the men were constantly commenting on women's appearance and bodies, hitting on a 17 yr old, there are weird shots and lines, and the female characters' plots exist for Porco Rosso's

#idk i didn't like it??? there's a lot of artistic merit to the movie and it was BEAUTIFUL visually but it kinda pissed me off tbh #like the scene when fio stands up to the pirate men & they're all like wow you're so pretty you're flattering us we are eternally loyal now #it's cool that she did that but it's also clear that they only listened to her because she was beautiful #(something they immediately mentioned) #and right after she has a little emotional breakdown where she's shaking because she was scared and that's great #BUT the way she deals with it is saying I'M GONNA GO SWIMMING and stripping down to her undies in front of porco rosso #who blushes furiously despite the fact that she's 17 and he's like 40 or something #and that's not even dealing with the fact that hat she randomly got proposed to that same scene and the whole challenge at the end #is to decide fio's fate even though there was literally no reason for that to happen??? #and lots of comments about her bottom ajd and debate over whether she can do her job because she's a young pretty girl #and i KNOW this is how it was in 1927 but also this is not what I've come to expect fr studio ghibli #and I'm disappointed #wow lotsa typos in there but I'll live

I'm losing weight for surgery #and my surgeon gave me the kind of arbitrary goal of 40 pounds (which i have officially surpassed 😇) #but there's still a few months until my hysto so I'm just gonna keep going to see how much i can lose before then #doing the math on it at my current pace would mean I'd go in for surgery weighing precisely 1 pound more than i did as a teenager. I'm — 😳 #but like. how fucking cool is that???? #and I'm so much healthier than i was a year ago and my body is working WITH me now instead of me struggling against it #and I'm getting my A1C checked at the end of the month and my fasting sugars have been phenomenal so it's going to be SUCH a good number #and basically everything about this is so so good and I'm incredibly happy and very very proud of myself 🥰🧿 #(p.s. if you're reading this and wanna tell me completely unprompted about how weight loss doesn't stick? do fucking not 💗)
