So before I started this insta account, I have a lot of dolls that are currently in the works. One of them is a Harley Quinn custom that I am particular in seeing finished. There was some doll repair needed as she had some large gaps on her head. To prevent splits from the reroot, I used the liquid fusion. What a godsend that stuff is. I have no pre-made idea or design ready for the doll. Instead, I will be just creating on the spot. What once was whole - “Scarred” Time is supposed to heal wounds, but does it? It may hurt a little less but I don’t think that pain goes away completely. Do you wear our scars with pride knowing you survived the grief process or do you try to hide the scars so no one can see? Are you stronger or do you see them as a weakness. My perspective is that scar tissue is thicker and stronger. The body healed it’s self after trauma, I believe the heart can do that too. There is strength in healing. Avalon - Obviously when scarrier reef came out I was even more excited to get my hands on this gem. This was the one and only time I have ever been able to get my hands on this Clawdeen and I’ll be honest, if I had have known that was the case, I she would not have sold her. I absolutely love the colour and I remember being so patient with her faceup trying to get the colours right. It was the first time I rerooted with multiple colours, which took me a lot longer to do. Ginger - a young version of the witch from Hansel and Gretel. I created this little witch for a doll swap. I wanted to create her with a little pinup style. I even gave her some tattoos. She was super cute, something I will admit, if I’m not completely inspired by the theme of a doll, I struggle with creating them. Iclyn - I have always had a fascination with the winter, snow and anything cold (just not vampires!) to me, the winter is just whimsical. There is this purity, peace and delicacy to it that just inspires me. This was the first time I used white eyelashes and I loved them. I haven’t done them since, but I would love to create another ice queen inspired doll with them. I have only experienced the snow a few times in my life. When we moved out here the locals warned us that the first winter will be difficult. Sure, it was colder than we were use to but I loved it. It’s been known to snow here occasionally, unfortunately we weren’t graced with the snow first time round. Periwinkle - can’t have Tink without her sister! I think I learned with this one that I didn’t need to reroot with so much yarn. This was before I realized I could untwist the yarn and reroot thinner pieces. I learned a lot by trial and error. It’s so much easier untwisting the pieces, rerooting and then brushing. Brushing the yarn while it’s still twisted after a reroot takes a lot of effort.
